I have been studying the series lore to create a story that actually works. I have a perfect path for this, and I am actually making it work within the series and feel like a natural extension. Too many of my stories feel too... seperate. Too unique. This is going to work better, I have been studying. I am also going to use my natural writing style to make this better. I was denying what works for me and this... this is the results.
Too often I try to fix things, instead of allowing natural progression...
I know the exact episode he will be present among the main cast.
A Year and a half before Kagome falls down the well
"What is that sound?" Mathew frowned as he walked down the trail he found in the hills. He was tired, and lost, but having a ton of fun as he walked through the woods. He had so many ideas for stories he wanted to write. Most helpful was the remains of a large shrine he found, mostly consumed by forest, but still visible through the greenery. "It sounds like buzzing..." Turning, he saw something that struck fear into his heart. Dozens of Wasps, massive, the size of his head, rushing his way at a fast pace. "Shit!" He screamed, stumbling as fast as his chubby body allowed. There was no way to go through and he found himself stuck in the center of shrine, right near what looked like rock the shape of a cracked egg. "I am going to die, I don't want to die!"
He fell back as the wasps approached, falling onto the egg like rock, his hands tearing open on the stone. He didn't even had time to scream as the wasps descended, their stings piercing his body, he just closed his eyes and readied himself for death. However, as he waited for death, a bright light penetrated his closed eyes. Opening them, Mathew saw the stone was radiating a fierce orange and blue light. The wasps were blasted away, their bodies hissing with steam and fear.
"What?" He asked, confused. He might have said more, but he could not as he started to sink into the rock, his body consumed by the power it exuded. Within seconds he was gone, falling into the veil of light and off into a world of darkness and shadow. He saw what looked like stars around him as he fell, and a distant light calling him forward. As he fell, at a much slower pace than he ought to, the boy's fear faded. " I guess I am dead... huh, not as bad as I thought."
Within seconds he fell into the light and erupted by a massive tower. Shaking and weak, he stumbled forward five steps before collapsing, blood spewing from his lips. He faded in and out of conciousness.
At some point, he heard a voice, a thick, elderly man's voice. He managed to pull himself together long enough to look at the source, that of an elderly man with a tall hat and priest robes. He looked Ancient, maybe a hundred years old. "Child, you must live, draw on any reserve of strengh you hold, any gods you worship and fight this."
Somehow, the man's raw concern, was enough for Mathew to do just that, even as Darkness took hold once more...
Eventually, he woke, finding himself in a small room that was plain and made of stone. He was naked, and bandaged, oddly in little pain. He was laying on a cot, and to his left was a man, the same elderly man as before.
"Where am I?" Mathew asked, his voice weak.
"You are at my shrine, where many Priests and Priestess are trained. When you appeared in a flush of light from the Tower of Many Treasures, all wounded and suffering from demonic poisons, I feared the worst. What happened to you, child?" Mathew, seeing no point in lying, revealed the truth. The man nodded. " That sounds like the Saimyosho, demonic wasps. I did not realize there was an infestation nearby. You are lucky to be alive, child, you must have a strong will to survive their power."
He laughed. "I would deny that demons exists, but just traveled through light... "
The man nodded. "You are from another time, another world, are you not?"
Mathew frowned. "Huh?"
"Your clothes are made of forgien material, you are clearly not born in Nippon, you have no traces of demonic or spiritual energy on your body bar what you have endured recently. I know, from my training as a High Priest and Sensei of many others, that time travel is possible through powerful spirits. The tower was created to seal away a powerful Demon, it was masked with countless seals, this place is imbued with a great deal of spirtual energy from centuries of training. Time is fluid in places like this, the bounderies of time and space less certain. Your desperation and blood must have triggered the lingering powers to send you away, to a time when when the powers were at their zenith."
"That... works I guess... so what now?"
"Now I train you." The man smirked.
"Huh?"
He laughed, a cold crackling sound. "This world, my world, is filled with powerful demons and countless wars and violence. I would be remiss to just send you away. You hold a strong will, even if you were not blessed with a massive amount of spiritual power, you will likely become a powerful student in your own right. I will show you, with the help of my other disciples Momiji and Botan, how to fight humans or demons, how to heal, how to harness the magic of the soul... and I will give you the understanding to one day, maybe return home. Would you like that, child?"
Mathew sat up, smiling. " I cannot believe you would help me like that."
"I am an old man, getting even one more chance to pass on my knowledge and skills, before I pass away, is a joy you cannot comprehend."
"So what do I call you?"
"Call me sensei... and your training begins in the morning, my new disciple. Until you heal, you will have to settle for meditation and reading, to get a full grip on the powers within all humans. Now, rest and when you wake, we will begin your training."
"Yes, sensei."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write. This is my best Inuyasha story yet!
