"Well, he has a mental quirk from the looks of things," the doctor said, looking at the clipboard.
"Do you know what it does?" my mom asked.
"That's the odd part with mental quirks, until it is used we can't. It can be telekinesis like you or many other things. We will just have to keep an eye out," he said, looking at me.
I just kept jumping up and down on the drive home.
"Hey mommy, do you think we should ask daddy what grandma and grandpa's quirks were?" I asked.
"No, I don't think they had mental ones," mom said. That and I don't want you to have anything to do with that dick.
"What was that second part mom?"
"What do you mean?"
"You said something but it sounded weird," I said, confused on why it didn't sound like she normally did.
"I didn't say anything," she said.
Maybe I just imagined it. I thought.
We got home and after mom made katsudon we ate and sat in the living room watching a movie.
"Mom, why isn't dad home anymore?" I asked.
"His work sweetie," my mom said.
My vision then went black.
"Hisashi?!" my mom asked.
"Inko, I-I thought you were out with Mitsuki with the kids for the weekend," a male voice said.
"Get out, NOW!" my mom yelled. I saw her standing in a doorway with someone who looked like my dad in bed with a woman I didn't recognize. "If you're going to do this you will never be a part of our son's life," she yelled, throwing clothes at him.
My vision faded back to black before I was back on the couch with mom.
"Mom, why did you kick daddy out?" I asked, reaching for her.
"Stay away from me!" she yelled, smacking me on the cheek. She then got up and went into her room.
For the next week I kept dreaming of what happened and realized that it was probably my quirk. After a week I stopped having the dream but I noticed mom didn't come out and didn't answer her door when I knocked. I decided to call my aunt Mitsuki.
"Hello," she answered.
"Aunt Mitsuki, mommy hasn't left her room for a few days and I can't get in. Can you come get her please?" I asked.
"Alright, I'll be right there," she said, hanging up.
A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and I opened it to see her. She went to mom's room before quickly leaving and closing the door.
Alright, I just have to be careful, aunt Mitsuki said.
"Why do you have to be careful?" I asked.
"I didn't say that," she said, smiling.
"I heard you say it," I said.
Wait, can he read minds?
"I don't think I can read minds, why?"
"I think you can because I didn't say anything, but you knew what I was thinking. Can you try not to do that?" she asked.
"Alright," I said. "So, is mommy ok?" I asked.
"No, I'm going to make some calls so can you go play in your room for a while?" she asked.
"A-alright," I said, going to my room.
I played with some of my figurines while I heard aunt Mitsuki crying while on the phone. I did my best to not focus on what she was thinking. I heard people walk in and after a moment there was a knock on my door.
"Yes?" I asked
"Someone needs to talk to you," aunt Mitsuki said, opening the door.
"Hello, I'm Detective Tsukauchi, nice to meet you," a tall man wearing a hat and trenchcoat.
"Hello, why do I need to talk to you?" I asked.
"Just a couple of reasons, I need to ask you if you know the difference between a truth and a lie?"
"Yes, why?"
"Hmm, what's your quirk?"
"Well, I thought it was looking at memories, but now I think it might be reading minds," I said.
"I think your quirk might have several uses. Well it's affecting my quirk so I need you to be honest with me. Is there anything that has happened that would cause your mother any grief or has she been acting strangely?"
"Well, I showed her a memory of her kicking my dad out and then she yelled at me and slapped me, which she's never done before. And for the past week she's been in her room," I explained.
"Alright, well, there's no easy way of saying this. I'm sorry but your mother passed away," he said.
"W-what?" I asked.
"Inko Midoriya is sadly dead," he said, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"No, no nonononononononononononono," I kept saying, falling to my knees. "NO!" I screamed as a shockwave of energy shot out of me.
"Agh," the detective said, grabbing his head.
"No," I said, feeling my eyelids become heavy.
I woke up the next day and my life started changing a lot in a very little amount of time. Aunt Mitsuki got guardianship of me, and after some convincing I got her to let me live in the apartment, but she could visit at any point with no warning. I decided to tell everyone that I was quirkless and gave up all thoughts of being a hero. I practiced my quirk at home so I could have full control over it. After two years I decided to call it Psychic Mastery.
AN-
I deleted Seven because it was crap, I wrote the second chapter and couldn't read it and my friend who I trust said that it was unreadable too. I decided to scrap it and start from the beginning, and then I scrapped that and came up with this. As of right now there are no plans for crossovers, but that might change in the future depending on if I see it going that way or a character might help. Please follow, favorite, comment, and kudos!
