Author's Note: Have a good Memorial Day and I hope I did Colby justice in this story.

Colby stretched in his chair as he finished his report, as he was eager to get home and be with his family. Where he could feel more at home, especially on a day like today.

Which was Memorial Day.

Colby was grateful for everyone who had served, with a couple exceptions and hoped that things will get better.

He wondered if Don and Robin would be able to join him and Liz for a barbecue, though, given that they were busy with their own children and he didn't want to intrude but he figured it might be worth a shot.

In all his years in service, first in the military and the FBI, Memorial day had made him somewhat reflective, but in the last few years, he had grown to be more so, as he wondered what he could have done differently and how he could move forward.

He shook his head as he knew that reliving things isn't going to change things and that what happened has happened and all anyone can do is move forward.

After finally finishing the report a few minutes later, he took out to his phone to check on Liz before calling Don.

"Hey, Don, any chance you and Robin would be able to join us for a barbeque? Really? Great, see you then." Colby talked a little more to his former boss before saying goodbyes and headed to his car, smiling about how great the day was turning out.

'Not only is a time of remembrance, but also a time of being with those who you care about and cherishing memories of those who are no longer here.' Colby thought as he headed home, glad that the day was over and also that he would also meet with his friends, even David, who made a surprise visit two days ago, and was staying with them for a week and Colby couldn't be happier for it.

Fini.
