He thought he could hear rain. Gentle drops hitting cobblestones and puddles with soft splashes. Footsteps quickly going by, probably hurrying to get out of the nasty weather. The thrumming murmur that made up a busy street. A nearby shout and the sound of something wooden slamming shut. If he had to guess, it was probably someone closing their shutters. The man slowly let out a breath, breathing in deeply. It smelled like wet stone, soaked through wood, and….
His nose twisted as the stench of rotting vegetation, stale water, and wet dog reached his nose. Slowly opening his eyes, he looked around without moving his head. It took a moment for his vision to go from blurred vague objects to recognizable items. He was slumped against a wall in what appeared to be a back alley somewhere. A stone and wood wall rose before him and he slowly tilted his head back to look at the one he was against. They appeared to be houses or perhaps… shops? He stared into the bright sky, squinting as rain hit his face. Oh… He was wet. Looking at his hands, he faintly felt the droplets slowly roll down his skin. Reaching up to touch his chest, he felt along the slick leather jacket he was wearing, a hood keeping his head dry but the sleeves were made of mesh, doing nothing for him. He pressed his hands against the ground, feeling the stone under his fingers, finally starting to put together where he was in the space. He was tucked behind a stack of crates and barrels, hidden away from the rest of the world. He pressed his back up against the wall and sighed, closing his eyes before he noticed something. There was something warm on him.
Looking down, he raised an eyebrow at what he found. A very large dog took up most of his lap, curled up against his stomach. He couldn't see the creature's face, hidden under two massive white paws. It was mostly black with a stripe of golden brown, and the rest of its body was white. He stared at the creature before slowly reaching down to touch it's head, pulling a small sound from it. The dog moved it's massive paws off of it's face, looking up at the man with almost human like golden eyes. They seemed surprised for a moment before looking almost relieved. It leaned into the man's hand, looking almost normal compared to his own massive size.
Wait… was he big?
"You wouldn't know where we are, would you?" he whispered to the dog, his voice barley feeling like his own. He had to push for it to come out, his throat rough and scratchy, like he hadn't used it in a long time. The dog blinked a few times at him, almost looking like it understood the question. It slowly stood, backing out of the space and into the open alley way. He stared after the creature before he looked around for something to hold onto, gripping to one of the crates on one side and pressing his hand to the wall on his other before he pulled himself up. He could hear his body complaining but despite it's cracks and groans, he couldn't feel anything. It took a moment for the world to come into place again, shifting in such a massive way that he wasn't sure where he was again. He could almost look over the tops of the stacked crates now. He stared at the dog, realizing just how far down the creature was but still coming up to his thigh. That was normal, right?
Slowly the man made his way after the creature, keeping one hand on the wall as if to keep himself physically grounded. He halfway shambled down the alleyway, keeping his eyes on the ground until he reached where the dog had sat down. The panting creature looked up at him before looking out into the street before them. He looked at the dog and slowly turned his eyes towards the street, allowing them to adjust once more. Everything was a flurry of flashing colors and movement, people hurrying by, not really actually paying much attention to him at all. He could see that they were standing before a main square it seemed, a set of stairs right in front of them leading to a wide-open area. In the center was two circles of grass with about twenty of so feet between them and a lamp post in each one. Each lamp had a larger light in the middle with two smaller ones branching out on either side. Both were slightly tilted, seeming to be twisting away from each other ever so slightly. His eyes slowly turned towards the dark, clouded sky, eyelashes fluttering as the drops hit his skin. He couldn't feel it, but the reflex was still there.
The large dog whined a little, pawing at a nearby door. He looked towards the creature before slowly walking over and tried the handle, watching as the door swung open into what looked like a tavern. He tilted his head down to look into the room, watching as the large dog walked in and instantly shook itself off. Making a small amused sound, he slipped into the rather rustic looking room as well, slowly looking around. There were a few people sitting around at the all wooden tables, drinking from tall glasses of amber and golden liquids. There were all kinds of people, an eclectic gathering of cultures, races, and species. He didn't really know what to make of it, not able to remember if he had seen so many different looking people and creatures before in his life but there was something about it that didn't seem to bother him. Truth was, nothing really felt like it bothered him, not that he knew why. Reaching up, he slowly pulled his hood off as he made his way to the large bar across the room from the front door. As he passed by patrons, they hushed and stared at him. He could feel their eyes on him and a warry coldness in their suspicious gazes.
He couldn't really blame them though, at least he didn't think he could. He probably did look a little strange to anyone that was considered to be "normal", which even he knew he wasn't that. A giant in every sense of the word, he towered over everyone standing or sitting. He wasn't sure exactly how tall he was, but he knew that it wasn't normal. His hands were so massive that he could easily wrap one around the head of a grown man and maybe if he squeezed just a little too hard… The gory image that filled his mind was sudden but it didn't disturb him, almost leaving a strange comfort inside his chest. There was something about it that felt almost familiar and… homely? Did he have a home?
A sudden nagging in the back of his mind brought him out of the dark thoughts, pulling his attention to what was before him. He set a hand on the bar, lightly running his fingers along the smooth surface, trying to concentrate on how it felt to his numb digits. If he thought about it hard enough, he could feel the impurities of the wood as his gloved fingers ran over the imperfect surface. The nagging grew stronger, making him look up once more, his eyes scanning the cold silence of people that were murmuring and casting glances his way. He leaned a little against the bar, watching as people seemed to get up and move away from him, now hiding in the shadows of the edges of the tavern. He couldn't help as an amused sound pulled from his throat and he glanced down at the dog at his side. "I think you're scaring people off." He muttered to the creature.
"Ya, sure it's the dog." A voice hummed from behind the bar next to him. He glanced almost too casually towards the voice and something inside him seemed to click as he laid eyes on the person. He felt something absently flutter in his chest and it squeezed, suddenly making it hard to breathe. An absolutely gorgeous human stood before him. They were ghostly pale with peachy cheeks, pitch black eyes that had perfectly drawn on winged liner, plump lips painted a deep blood red. A silver ring glittered around those beautiful lips, along with a ball below the very center of their lower lip. Another hint of silver could be seen on their perfectly cute nose and on either side of those delicately arched eyebrows. Half of their head was shaved, the shorter curled hair pitch white, while the other half was a deep blue and braided, neatly falling down to their slender hips. Truth was, he had no idea if this person was male or female but they were beautiful and… something about them was deliciously enticing, pulling him towards them.
"The big scary giant probably isn't helping." He hummed all too casually as he slowly leaned on the bar, taking a seat on the stool almost absently. His eyes couldn't help but rake over that body, tracing every curve of the other's neck and shoulders, tracing down to their chest where his eyes seemed to pause. He wasn't really sure what he was looking at, but there was something about this person, like he could feel what was inside him. The longer he stared, the harder his heart was beating in his head, the louder the sound got, pounding in his ears starting to drown everything else out.
"Probly." The blue haired goth snorted back, putting a perfectly manicured hand on the bar. They had an odd accent that he had no idea how to explain it, never having heard anything like it before. Pulling his eyes away from the other's chest, he looked down at those slender fingers, looking at the shape of the perfectly formed nails that were painted black. Silver, gold, and black bands were wrapped around those beautiful fingers and he felt the urge to touch them. His own fingers twitched a little as he resisted the urge, quickly looking back towards the other's face. His heart was still pounding in his ears but at least it seemed to have gotten a little quieter. Their eyes locked and he noticed that what he had first thought was black were actually deep pools of midnight blue.
"Where am I?" He asked quietly after a long moment of silence. The goth raised an eyebrow and snorted before looking away.
"When'd you get in?" they asked, moving to pull a glass out from under the bar, setting it on the surface between them. He looked at it for a long time before shaking his head.
"I don't remember."
"Eh?" That got him a strange look from the other as they pulled out a strange looking faucet connected to a long silver tube, filling the cup with water from it.
"I just woke up in the alley." He said with a small shrug, looking down at the dog next to him, thinking for a moment before he absently took the cup without asking and turned towards the creature, offering it the cup. The creature's tail twitched a little in a gentle wag before it started to lick from the cup.
"Ya wha' now? When?"
"Just now." He glanced towards the goth, who looked a mixed between disturbed and concerned.
"An' that ain't got ya all kinds of rattled?"
"Not really." He shrugged, pulling the cup away from the dog when they were done before downing the rest of the water without a thought. He was pretty sure he heard a gag from the goth as he did so, putting the empty glass on the bar. "Truth is… I'm not even sure if this is my dog. But….'' He looked at the creature. "I think they are."
"Ya think?" the goth snorted before they leaned over the bar and looked at the large creature. Laying halfway across the bar, the reached down to the large animal and felt around the wet fluff around their neck, pulling out a dark brown collar before they moved it around and found a round golden tag. "Says here his name is Nugget."
"Nugget… That seemed to spark something in his brain and he couldn't help but smile just a little, reaching down to ruffle the large dog's ears. "That sounds familiar." He said with a soft hum. "Guess that means he's my dog then, huh?" he chuckled as the creature seemed to roll his golden eyes at him.
"Righ'." The goth hummed, standing back up.
You never answered my question though." He said quietly, not looking away from his dog. "Where am I?"
There was a long moment of silence before the other sighed and filled up the glass again. "Yer in Traverse Town. I'd ask if ya weren't from around here, but truth is… No one is." They shrugged a little, pushing the glass towards him almost gingerly. He glanced at the cup for a moment before he downed it again, not realizing just how thirsty he actually was… Or just how hungry he was.
"Is there a place I can get something to eat around here?" He asked before he paused, furrowing his eyebrows again. "Actually… I have no idea if I even have any money on me." He absently started to feel for pockets in his jacket.
The other was quiet again for a long time, just watching him. It must have mad him nervous because he started to hear his heartbeat pounding again.
"What's yer name?"
That made him pause again, looking at the dog as he thought for a long time. His… name? "You know…" he said absently, slowly looking towards the goth as it realization dawned on him. "I have no idea."
The goth stared at him for a long time before they sighed a little and reached up to rub the shaved side of their head. "So yer tellin' me that ya'll woke up not but ten minutes ago, if that. Ya ain't got no idea how ya'll got here, no money, and ain't got no idea what yer own name is?" they huffed, looking almost annoyed. He snorted before he nodded a little.
"Yeah. That sounds about right." He couldn't help but grin, feeling almost like it was an impulse. "When you put it that way, it sounds pretty bad." He snorted, moving to lean on the bar again. "But truth is… I'm not sure I remember anything." He looked down at his own massive hand again, spreading his fingers wide. "I'm… not really even sure what I look like."
"Ya gotta be fuckin' with me." The other muttered before they groaned and smacked the bar between them. He watched as they walked away, unable to help himself as his eyes trailed down to look at those hips as they swayed just a little and that…. Oh… He liked the way that the other's ass and thick thighs looked in those near skin tight pants. They might as well have been painted on, made of a shiny PVC material and tucked into tall black boots that went to the other's knees. The boots even had quite the heel on them but the other was perfectly able to balance, not bothered by the at all. It made him think… He pulled away from the bar a little, putting his foot out so that he could look down at his own shoes. He was greeted with the same shiny black material for his pants, but they had a large second on his thighs cut out and a bright neon green mesh was over them and his boots… He had tall boots that also came to just under his knees with the base of the boot a bright neon purple, the tongue neon yellow, and the edges around the base of the large boot was black. Instead of laces, large straps held them together, each strap has silver spikes sticking out of them. As he admired the boots, he held his foot out a little more and noticed the massive neon green platform that easily added almost six inches to his already massive height. Compared to everyone else, he stood out like a neon beacon and he was understanding even more why people seemed to be avoiding him.
The goth came back and slapped a key on the table. It had a large plastic tag on it with "22A" written on it. Along with the key, they had also put down a map with a red line drawn leading from the tavern to…
"Yer damn lucky I'm nice." The other grumbled, tapping their finger on the map. "I also happen to run the hotel in the second district. Follow the red line and ya'll can stay there tonight." They weren't looking at him as he pointed towards a set of stairs to their left that lead down. "The café is that way, tell em to put it on my tab, can have whatever ya want." They sighed, rubbing the back of their head, looking annoyed with themselves about the whole thing.
He couldn't help but stare at the key, picking it up slowly before he nodded a little, slipping it into the pocket of his strange jacket. "And…. What's the name on that tab?" he asked, looking up at the other, hearing the pounding of his heart once more. He got a sharp look from those dark eyes before the other sighed and their shoulders softened a little.
"Ares." They said softly. "Ares Zodiac."
"Well, Ares…" he hummed, looking the other over again as he stood, picking up the map. "I really appreciate it."
"Doin' it more for the dog ta be honest." The goth huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. At least, now he could assume that the other was male with a name like that.
Was that rude? Probably.
"Well he thanks you too." He chuckled back, reaching down to pet the dog's head. Nugget gave a happy little sound, his tail wagging slowly. "Is there anything I can do to repay you?"
"I'll drop by yer room later." Ares said, not looking at him. He had his arms still crossed over his chest, eyes locked on the stairs. "Can talk more then when it ain't so busy. Sides…. Yer scarin' all my customers." He gave him a hard side eye, making him chuckle again.
"Yeah. I think I'm starting to understand why that is." He said, looking down at his boots again before he thought for a moment and leaned across the bar almost instinctively, wrapping his fingers around the edge of the back of the bar and he leaned over the goth. The man turned towards him, looking up at him with surprised dark eyes, a sudden bright blush appearing across his beautiful face just making it even all that more attractive. The closer he got to the other, the harder and the louder the pounding in his ears was.
"Thank you." He said with a soft coo to the other, his voice rumbling deep in his chest. "If I can do anything to repay you, anything at all… Just ask." He wasn't sure exactly what he was offering but in the back of his mind he almost knew exactly what he was talking about. Like he had done this a thousand times before.
"Ye-Yeah." Ares stammered, taking a small step back before he looked away again. "Just… Go get somethin' ta eat or somethin'." He grumbled. He watched him for a long moment, suddenly feeling an almost irresistible pull towards the other, like there was something about this goth that was drawing him in closer, making him want to do… something. He wasn't sure what that something was but he was pretty sure that it wasn't appropriate.
"Thanks." He hummed before he pulled away and started towards the stairs. "I'll see you later then?"
"Yeah yeah." Ares waved him off, pulling out a rag to start cleaning off the bar. "See ya' later, blue eye."
The nickname seemed odd to him but… Maybe he had blue eyes? He had no idea, he hadn't seen a clear enough reflection as of yet. But, he ignored it for the time being as he slowly made his way down the stairs, barley feeling them under his feet. He kept a hand on the wall beside him, helping balance himself as he concentrated far too hard to make his way down the stairs. It lead back outside to an outdoor café that was covered by the building above it. There were three empty tables, each of them with a large candle in the center that seemed to not be getting any shorter no matter how much they burned. He looked around, unsure what to actually do and not seeing anyone but… He made his way over to one of the tables and slowly sat down. Almost seconds later, someone was putting a menu in front of him. He blinked a few times at it before following the hand up a slender arm to a face that was just as equally as beautiful as Ares'. They were near identical with the same features; dark blue eyes, a perfect nose, pretty plush lips. But they had a messy mop of golden curls, dark sun kissed skin, and this person was even more impossible to tell if they were male or female.
"Welcome." They hummed to him in a voice that confused him further. What… fucking gender was this person? While he mused absently about that, the blonde looked down at Nugget and hummed softly. "Gonna be needin' water fer yer dog?" They even had the same strange accent.
"Are you related to Ares?" He asked before he could even think to stop himself, very belated realizing just how rude that probably was. But the blonde nodded none the less, crossing their arms over their slender chest. They wore much looser clothing then the goth, no makeup, and their hips weren't nearly as big or thick.
"His sister." She said simply as if she got that question a lot. "He send ya?"
"Uhhhhh… Kind of?" he said, suddenly confused and once more the words left his mouth before he could stop himself. "How does he look more like a girl then you do?"
"Cause he's too gay fer his own damn good." The blonde said without hesitation once more. "And ain't into that girly ass shit like he is. Ya want water fer yer dog?" She asked again, pointing down at Nugget, who had put his head on one of the chairs, his large paws over his muzzle.
He looked at Nugget, equally as confused about the dog's strangely human actions as he was about the siblings' genders. Had he embarrassed his own dog?
"Yes please." He said almost absently before he looked down at the menu and pushed it towards her lightly. "He said that I could get anything and to tell you to put it on his tab." He looked up at the blonde, who seemed almost unimpressed.
"Ya know wha ya want?"
He shook his head but couldn't help but grin. "Surprise me? It doesn't matter either way cause I have no idea what I like or don't like. I don't remember anything." He laughed. She raised an eyebrow at him before shrugging a little and picked up the menu.
"Suit yerself." She said, turning away and going towards a set of double doors. "Be back." br /He watched her disappear before looking down at the dog, that was looking up at him with those honey golden eyes. He looked at him for a long time before he reached down and ruffled his ears again. "Why do I get the feeling you're not a normal dog?" he muttered to himself. Nugget just snorted at him, seeming to smirk as his tail wagged absently.
"Hours had passed by the time he had found his way to the hotel room. The blonde, named Leona, had been an absently amazing cook and made him dishes and dishes of food. It was almost like no matter how much food he ate, he was still hungry. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten anything but the moment he smelled food he just couldn't stop until he felt like he couldn't move. When both he and Nugget had eaten enough for what seemed like twenty people, he had started to make his way to the hotel, absently walking through the strange town. Ares had said that no one in this place, Traverse Town, was actually from there. He had talked to Leona about it, asking her for more details about anything and everything and he learned some interesting things. Basically, Traverse Town was a place for drifters. No one was from there and they were constantly coming and going but the people who lived there didn't call it home either. It was like things were constantly changing while also staying the same. He wasn't really sure what that meant but he had learned something far more interesting than anything else. Evidently, he wasn't the first person to wake up passed out somewhere in the town with absolutely no memory of anything. According to Leona it actually happened a lot more then it probably should and almost always Ares would offer then a place to stay and work until they would remember something.
He found the hotel and pushed the door open slowly, looking around the strange building. It was basically empty and looked more like apartments then a hotel. He could assume that he was on the second floor because of the number on his key and he would have asked but there wasn't anyone to ask. After wondering the halls, he found a bright green door with a golden "22A" on it. He looked down at Nugget before he unlocked the door and pushed it open. The dog entered first once more and he looked after him again. It was one room with a large bed in the center of the room, a green chest at the foot of the bed. A floor length mirror was against one wall, next to it was a green dresser, and on the wall opposite of him was a sliding glass door to a balcony. There was a door next to the dresser that he could assume lead to the bathroom. Slowly walking in, he paused at the bed and thought for a moment. Taking a few steps back, he stared at himself in the mirror, looking at a complete and total stranger.
He was completely taken aback by what he saw, not knowing at all what to expect but… He was in fact a giant; both far too tall but also he was built like a cement fucking wall. His shoulders were massive and his arms were huge. He blinked a few times as he slowly flexed an arm, nearly ripping through the green mesh of his jacket. Running his fingers down the front of the black pleather jacket, the hood was pulled up over his head again. It was long, reaching down to his ankles, the sleeves made of the neon green mesh, showing off his massive arms, elbow length neon blue gloves, and three purple stripes around his right bicep. The top stripe starting out as a thick, dark purple and the bottom a thinner, lighter color. The entire jacket was trimmed with the same neon green going around the bottom, traveling up the front on either side of the large zipper, and around the edge of the hood. He stared at himself and the longer he looked, the more it made sense why people had been quick to skitter away. He couldn't see his face at all when his hood was up but he was positive that there was a bright blue glow coming out from the darkness. He looked down at the zipper of his jacket, taking it off without looking at the mirror. Tossing the wet thing onto the chest at the end of the bed, he hesitated for just a moment. Did… did he want to see himself? What if he was as much of a freak as he thought he was? He looked at Nugget, the dog sitting at the foot of the bed, watching the man. He seemed to almost encourage him, nodding towards the mirror. It made him hesitate for a moment before he nodded. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes before he faced the mirror once more. He had to silently count down from five in his head before he was able to open his eyes, taking himself in.
He had a slightly tanned complexion, his skin tone looking like it was supposed to be pale but it had an almost gray undertone to it. He was wearing a skin tight black crop top, bright neon blue belts that crisscrossed over his thick waist, holding up literally nothing. He was wearing what seemed to be a neon pink harness as well, the straps over his broad shoulders and crossed over his back from behind. Piercings glittered from his powerful hips and belly button, the silver peering through a thick black hair that trailed down his chest and disappeared under the top of his pants. He slowly walked towards the mirror, reaching up to touch the green collar around his neck, something about it wanting to spark memories but they were so… fuzzy. He lightly traced his gloved fingers through his thick, black beard that curled up his strong jaw, tilting his head to the side to look at it. He also had a lip ring, a nose piercing, and an eyebrow piercing just like Ares had. Large silver hoops hung from both of his ears, each ear having at least five piercings, the left side had a bar across the top. He reached up to touch his hair that was pulled back into a bun. He was bald on either side of his head, but in the very center was thick black and purple-blue dreads. Undoing the tie around the bun, his dreads fell over his shoulders, cascading down his body until they reached his knees. They were decorated with various different silver rings and twists in them, jangling a little when he moved. He paused to look at his hair, tilting his head to one side to admire it. Finally, he actually looked at his own eyes, causing him to pause once more and step even closer. His eyes were two different colors. The left one was pitch black, the pupil actually white and the underside was lined with a thick neon blue wing that flared towards his left ear but it wasn't make up. Reaching up towards it, he rubbed it lightly, the color not smudging at all. As odd as that was, his right eye… His right eye was a bright electric blue, so bright that he could swear that it was glowing… Because it was.
t suddenly became clear that various parts of his body were actually glowing neon blue. His tongue and the entire inside of his mouth had a soft blue glow, the right eye, the tips of his ears…. He furrowed his eyebrows as he reached up to touch the faint scar that ran over his right eye. It looked like someone had tried to claw his eye out at some point. He noticed another scar that ran around the top of his head and as he tilted his head to the side, he saw a much thicker, darker looking one on his neck. Touching it, he noticed that he had long scars that around down the entirety of the inside of his arms, like someone had cut open the entire length at some point. He looked at his gloves before pulling them off, seeing that the scars went right down to his wrists. His nails caught his attention now, long and sharp, each painted a different neon color… and his fingertips had that faint neon glow.
"I am…. A lot." He said, staring at his nails before he looked back up at his reflection again, noticing the string of a necklace that disappeared under the tight shirt, a strange shape under it. Pulling the string, it was attached to a vial of some kind of glowing blue liquid. He stared at it, the color matching his eye, matching his tattoo, matching his own strange blue glow. He stared at the vial in his hand for a long time before he slowly looked towards Nugget, looking so beyond confused. "I'm kind of a freak… aren't I?" he asked, eyes narrowing. The dog made a gesture that almost looked like a shrug, snuffing at him. He looked at the creature for a moment before he looked back to his reflection and took a step back to give himself a better look. "Well… You know what?" he turned around a little to look at his back. A thick scar running down the length of his spine, disappearing under the top of his pants but… He had a hell of an ass on him. He snorted and reached back to grab his ass, spreading his legs almost absently. "I'm kinda hot… I think?"
There was a knocking on the door that drew him away from his reflection and he went over to open the door without thinking. Ares stood there, the goth's eyes blowing wide as he stared at the man, looking over the giant with a growing and deepening blush. He could hear his heart starting to pound in his ears again, that tightness in his chest crushing him once more. "Hey."
"Hey yerself." The goth muttered before he made a small gesture. "Mind if I come in?"
He took a step to the side, gesturing for the man to come inside. The other stepped in, moving to stand closer to Nugget, petting his head. He could finally get a better look at the goth, admiring his outfit. Skin tight black pants, heavy black boots, a black crop top that had white roses and a skull outlined in the center of the chest. Ares was quite attractive, beyond just that beautiful face, he had such a pretty body too. He had gentle shoulders, a nicely toned chest and arms, but damn… that ass. He swore he could just stare at it forever.
Wait…
Was he even attracted to men?
"Ya remember anythin' yet?" Ares asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked to the leering giant. The man shook his head a little, slowly walking back to the mirror to look at himself.
"Not yet. I was kind of hoping that seeing myself would trigger something but…" he sighed. "I have more questions now then I did before." He rubbed the back of his neck almost absently before he moved to tie up his dreads again. "Like… why am I glowing? That doesn't seem to be normal."
"I wasn't gonna say nothin'." Ares snorted, popping a hip as he took an almost sassy stance "But yeah, I noticed that too." He made a small gesture at the vial. "Any ideas what that is?"
He looked at the necklace again before he moved to take it off, holding it up to get a better look. The liquid moved around in the vial but beyond feeling familiar…
"No idea." He said, walking to the goth before he offered it to him. "Ever see anything like this before?"
"Other then glow sticks, nah." The man said, looking at it before he took it and tilted the vial in his hands. The giant noticed as Nugget sat up, eyes on the goth, who wasn't paying much attention to the dog. Despite that, Nugget was suddenly quite alert, his eyes trained on the vial.
"He seems to know something." He said, pointing to the golden creature, making Ares glance at him.
"Sure does…." He muttered, furrowing his eyebrows a little before he held the vial out to the dog. Neither of them were really sure what to expect, but it wasn't what happened. Nugget bolted off of the bed, standing at the sliding door, the fur on his spine standing on end and he growled softly. Both men stared at the creature before Ares slowly looked at the larger man.
"That ain't gotta be normal." He said, holding the vial back out to the man who took it in his own massive hand. He looked at it for a long time, not paying much attention as Ares walked over to the dog, kneeling down to comfort him. He looked at the glowing blue liquid for a long time, slowly sitting down as he examined it. He slowly turned it in his hands, almost hoping that the longer he looked at it, that something might come out of it. That it might give him some kind of clue as to who he was… Of who he might be. As he stared at it, the pounding in his ears slowly started to grow louder and louder until it was the only thing he could hear, his entire body pulsing with the pounding heartbeat. He stared through unfocused eyes at the vial in his hands, his vision starting to blur and something inside him pulsed with the beat. Something started to pull at him, yanking at the center of his chest as he struggled to breathe. Each breath was painful, his chest growing tighter and tighter, something inside him feeling like it was trying to claw its way out.
It was the slender fingers that touched his finger tips that pulled his blurred vision up towards the goth that stood before him. But there was something about Ares that looked so… different. He looked beautiful, gorgeous, irresistible…. He was absolutely glowing with a red haze that blurred the edges of his body around him. The haze grew brighter and brighter and that clawing inside his chest became painfully intense. His eyes trailed down to the man's chest once more, focusing on his heart. He didn't realize it, but at some point he had grabbed the other's wrist and Ares was talking to him, but whatever he was saying was drowned out by the pounding in his ears. The need that filled his body.
Suddenly, without a thought, he threw Ares down onto the bed, pinning him down under his own massive body. His cries fell on completely deaf ears as he held both of the man's hands over his head, pinning him down easily. He thought maybe he could hear Nugget barking but it was so distant. The room had completely shrunk down, his vision starting to become completely black, staring at the man's chest until everything became suddenly so clear. The entire world around him had melted away and he found himself staring at the outline of a heart. A glowing red light around the shape that pulsed with the desperate pounding that filled his mind and body. With trembling fingers, he slowly started to reach towards it, wanting… Needing to touch it. Needing to hold it. Needing to become one with it. He felt a small resistance around the outline, something pressing back against his fingertips, keeping him from reaching it. Furrowing his eyebrows, desperation settled deep in him as he pushed against the resistance, needing nothing more then that pure heart, wanting to completely and totally devour it.
His head smacked so hard against the wall as he was nearly blasted off of the goth that his vision doubled. He pressed himself against the wall as he watched as everything started to spin, moving back and forth. He thought Ares was standing in front of him, the goth holding something icy cold to his neck. His entire body trembled at the feeling, the cold shooting through his body, making him tremble and shake before everything blacked out completely.
