Chapter 2: Valentine's Day Part II

Earlier

Kitty was not having a good day.

In fact, it was probably one of the worst days she could remember having in a long time...and it's Valentine's Day no less.

In fact, this was probably the worst one she's had yet due to what happened today with a certain greasy haired idiot that she called her boyfriend.

"OH! I can't believe that...that...lousy good for nothing! How dare he?! All the times I gave him a chance, he keeps doing this to me!..."Kitty shouted angrily into the sky as she was alone.

She needed to be alone, given how angry she was.

Today had started out so good. She had woken up all excited since today was Valentine's day, the most romantic day of the year.

She had been looking forward to it for weeks and even splurged a bit on a special gift for Johnny: a new leather jacket that she'd knew that he'd love.

It was suppose to be perfect!

She was gonna surprise Johnny with a hug and a kiss, before she presented her gift to him. He would have romanced her with flowers, chocolates and whatever thoughtful gift he would have gotten for her as a token of his love. After that, they would exchange their gifts and then go to have a nice brunch together at a romantic cafe and then spend the rest of Valentine's Day together in each other's arms, being blissfully in love with each other as ever.

However, it did NOT go that way.

No, instead she only got a reminder of why Ember and Spectra tell her to be done with him.

Not only did Johnny forget about Valentine's day by not even showing up with a gift, flowers or even a lousy greeting card, but she had caught him hitting on yet another human girl who just happens to be attractive in a skirt.

She had been furious and she could still remember their argument.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU, JOHNNY! IT'S BAD ENOUGH YOU GO AFTER MEANINGLESS GIRLS BUT ON VALENTINE'S DAY?! THE ONE DAY A YEAR THAT'S SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT US?!..."Her own voice echoed in her mind as she recalled that awful moment.

"Baby, come on. You're the only meaningless girl for me..."Johnny's cowardly voice let out, which only enraged her even more.

"DO YOU EVEN THINK BEFORE SAYING SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! IF IT DIDN'T WORK BEFORE, WHY WOULD IT WORK NOW?!..."She had yelled.

What followed after that was hours of fighting, yelling, Johnny managing to avoid her vanishing kisses by dumb luck until she had run out of her special brand of lipstick and his stupid bad luck shadow defended him until they managed to escape her wrath...for now.

"I can't believe I keep giving him chances..."She muttered in anger, wanting something to take her mind off her troubles and vent some steam since her target had managed to escape.

Now, she was alone.

Alone, miserable, with no flowers...no chocolates...no gifts...and no boyfriend to spend the Day of love with either...

She was all alone, angry, miserable, heartbroken...trying hard not to cry and be seen while everyone else was with their significant other, enjoying this lovely Holiday, being blissfully in love, happy and content as they received something for their special Valentine.

The green haired ghoul just wanted to be alone and try not to think about the fact that she was going to be spend this holiday alone while everyone else had plans with their beloved today, alone together as they enjoyed each other's company.

Ember, for some reason, decided to give Skulker another chance and they were going to cause some chaos for fun, Penelope was making Bertrand do errands for her in his attempts to "improve" their relationship. Even the BOX GHOST and the LUNCH LADY were going on a picnic date with each other, which only showed how which only showed how close they got.

It actually hurt her a bit that those two had gotten closer to each other in a few months than she and Johnny have been in a long time.

"At least someone's having fun..."She thought bitterly.

She was on her own while they were all going to spend this day together, having fun and making memories on this day of love.

"This is so not fair! I should be out there with a guy too..."She muttered in anger, feeling lonely and miserable right now.

However, she wasn't as alone as she thought as someone had heard her yelled and soon spotted her.

It was a certain ghost boy whom the green haired ghoul was familiar with: Danny Phantom.

"Kitty!..."Danny said, not pleased to see her.

"Danny!..."Kitty said, who seemed surprised by his presence.

The green haired ghoul blinked in surprise, not expecting him.

"What's he doing here?..."She thought, caught off guard while this Valentine's Day seems to have taken a massive shift into more trouble.

Present Time

The ghost boy and the ghoul stared down at each other, neither making a move as they were unsure what to expect from each other.

"What are you up to?..."Danny asked, demanding in a serious tone.

Kitty scoffed.

"None of your business but I'm not causing any trouble..."Kitty said, hands at her hips and not wanting to emphasize any further.

"Not yet, anyway. Why are you here and where's Johnny?..."Danny asked as he looked around, wondering if he'd have to deal with him too.

The mention of the blonde biker angered Kitty.

"DO NOT SAY THAT NAME TO ME!..."Kitty snapped, making ghost boy raise an eyebrow in surprise at her outburst.

"Uh, I see..."He said while Kitty crossed her arms, before she looked at Danny and she then realized he's alone.

"I'm surprised you're not with your girlfriend..."She said, not seeing her around.

Danny flinched.

"We... broke up..." He admitted, looking down.

Kitty looked surprised.

"Really? Did she do something? Or did Ember do something?..." She asked.

Danny stared flatly.

"Uh... neither...and why would Ember be involved in any of this?..."He asked and Kitty flinched.

"Uh...no reason...so, what happened?..."She asked, trying to change the subject.

"Long story short, we kind of realized we weren't really connecting the way we thought we would..."Danny said, looking depressed at the reminder that he's alone.

"Oh..."Kitty said, almost looking sympathetic right now while the ghost boy decided to just change the subject.

"And... Johnny's been ogling other girls again and he forgot what day it is?..."He guessed.

"That obvious?..."Kitty asked.

"Yup since you only get this upset whenever he messes up like that..."Danny said, familiar with it at this point.

Kitty frowned before her expression soon turned to a sad one.

"I just can't believe Johnny keeps doing this to me, especially after all I've done for him...all I've given up for him...he used to be so sweet and romantic when we first started going out..."Kitty said, fuming and looking depressed.

"I swear, I sometimes wonder why I keep putting up with him..."She muttered, looking out at the sky in disappointment.

"Yeah, I always kinda wondered why you keep taking him back. Being enemies aside, you can do better..."Danny couldn't help but comment.

"I appreciate that..."Kitty said, sighing bitterly.

With nothing better to do, Danny figured he may as well ask. She hasn't attacked him yet and he usually doesn't try to pick fights with ghosts who aren't causing trouble.

"Seriously...why DO you keep putting up with him if he keeps doing this?..."Danny asked.

Kitty sighed as she didn't want to talk about this.

In fact, she was surprised that they were even talking this line.

True, she never really considered Danny to be an enemy, just a nuisance and a busybody who kept trying to spoil her and everyone else's fun.

"I'd rather not talk about it..." She admitted.

"Right... I forget that we're not friends..." He said.

Kitty seemed almost hurt by that remark and her brow furrowed before she retorted right back at him.

"Rude..."She complained.

"Considering it's you... I'm not gonna feel guilty..."Danny said, sending her a look.

The green haired ghoul frowned again and pouted as she crossed her arms again.

"Okay, you need to learn some manners. I just don't get why you don't seem to like me very much..."Kitty complained.

The ghost boy sent her an "Are you serious look?" and decided to just spell it out for her.

"Um, maybe it's because the fact that you and your boyfriend tried to use my sister as a human meat puppet that one time or the time you blackmailed me and overshadowed the girl who'd become one of the biggest pains in my neck into dating you just to get back at your ex..."Danny said.

Kitty heard this and flinched, recalling those incidents now and realized he actually did have a valid reason to act the way he did.

"Fair point but that was all Johnny's fault to begin with.. He used his stupid bad luck shadow to keep your portal open and it closed on me, frying my body inside out. I couldn't hold my form at all...I had to stay inside and conserve energy in order to not fall apart..."Kitty argued.

"Well, you seem fine now...and with no human puppet to control..."Danny pointed out.

Kitty sighed.

"Yeah, it turns out that the effects only lasted a month but me and Johnny didn't know that. I thought for sure that I was gonna become a puddle or fade away to nothing if I didn't find a body..."Kitty said, looking somewhat guilty.

Danny remained unsympathetic, given what almost happened to Jazz, his very own sister.

"You still had no right to try and take my sister's body..."Danny argued.

"Hey, it was Johnny who chose to use your sister...I would have been fine with just anyone but in Johnny's own words "if he had to look at her face for all eternity, he wanted to make sure that he likes it..."Kitty said with air quotes, looking annoyed.

Danny shook his head and still looked unfeeling for her.

"You could've said no to the idea...why did you both even come to the human world in the firs place?..."He asked, wondering why his enemies all seem bent to leave there and torture him here.

Now it was Kitty's turn to send him the "Are you serious look?" and frowned hard as she explains the obvious to him.

"You've seen what it's like in the ghost zone, Danny! It's dark, dreary and boring! I'm sick of it!..."Kitty yelled, eye twitching in irritation.

Danny blinked in surprise, not realizing what living in that world is like.

"Uh...I didn't know there was a reason you guys kept coming here now that I think about it..."He said while he thought. "She really hates it there that much..."He thought, wondering if that was part of the reason his foes keep coming here, besides their insane goals to take over the town, destroy him or both.

"Well, that's still no excuse..."He said. "Plus, you still shouldn't have used my sister, Paulina or any girl..."He said, sternly.

The green haired ghoul scowled at him as she tried to defend her actions.

"I had no choice! I thought I was gonna fall apart the first time and the second time, Johnny was being difficult! He was flirting with other women literally behind my back and I couldn't take it anymore. I just wanted to make him jealous enough to teach him a lesson and you were there...I wanted him to learn what it was like to see someone he loves mess around with another. You can't honestly say that you'd never do the same thing..."Kitty argued.

"I wouldn't think of using innocent people just to have a girlfriend or get back at someone..."Danny said.

Kitty frowned hard before snapping at him.

"I didn't have a choice!..."She argued but Danny rolled his eyes.

"Well, you did and quit trying to act innocent. My sister and Sam both told me how you, Ember and Spectra tried to get rid of all the men in town and hypnotize the women into being your mindless followers!..."He pointed out.

"Hey, I only tried to get rid of Johnny. It was Ember's guitar who amplified my kiss and it was her and Spectra's idea to take advantage and start a matriarchy. I just went along with it..."Kitty said.

"No way you regretted it. You could have turned them down and did whatever you needed to do to get the men back, the ones that had nothing to do with Johnny cheating on you! They were all the innocent people who didn't deserve what you did to them that day..."Danny argued.

Kitty frowned and deep down, she felt a little guilty about doing along with that.

She had been so angry at Johnny and she couldn't take any more. Ember and Spectra had their own man issues and wanted to help in their own way. She went along with it since she wanted to get her mind off Johnny's attempts at cheating and to stay out of the Ghost Zone, not caring anymore what she'd do. She didn't think about the consequences of her actions.

Still, the green haired ghoul didn't like being spoken to like this and huffed.

"Well, I don't recall vanishing you. Where were you doing that whole thing?..."Kitty asked.

"I was out of town fishing with my dad. I didn't even know until after I came back..."Danny said and the ghoul felt her anger slightly subside.

Kitty rubbed her temples before she sighed, realizing the answer.

"Of course... the spell had a limit to how far it could go, even with Ember amplifying it." She muttered.

Danny did wonder how he and his father were unaffected. He always wondered how that worked. Then again, he wondered why were they being so casual with each other.

"I can't believe you're telling me a potential way to avoid that the next time you two team up..."Danny couldn't help but say.

"Heck, I still can't believe we're actually just talking instead of you trying to stuff me in that stupid thermos of yours..."Kitty said.

"I'm not in the mood to fight right now...at least not at this, you haven't tried to take over the town yet or tried killing me, so I have no reason to throw my fist..."He said, not wanting to get into trouble.

"I see..."Kitty said, looking surprised by this.

There was an uncomfortable silence for a moment as the two ghosts were just standing in front of each other and giving awkward glances at one another.

After a few moments, Danny decided to break the silence by asking some questions, mostly about the obviously toxic relationship between her and Johnny.

"No better way to kill time, I guess..." He thought as he decided to just do it.

"So... how exactly did you meet Johnny in the first place and why do you even bother with him?..."Danny asked with some genuine curiosity.

"Oh... uh..." Kitty looked unsure.

Danny saw this and realized he might be stepping on boundaries here.

"You don't have to talk about it but neither of us are feeling too great right now and no one is hurt other than how disappointing this day is, so let's not see each other as enemies. So, if you wanna talk, I'm willing to listen...as long as you don't try and attack anyone or make any more boys disappear..."Danny said.

"Don't worry about that, I used up all my special brand of vanishing lipstick trying to get back at Johnny, but thanks to his stupid bad luck shadow, I missed and he got away..."Kitty said, rolling her eyes.

"It was lipstick?" Danny asked.

"Duh... if I had that power the whole time, why did I overshadow that girl to use you instead of threatening to make him disappear? Anyway... I won't be able to get another shipment in months... so I couldn't do it even if I wanted to."

"I see..."Danny said, knowing the solution to that problem next time.

"Note to self, find manufacturer and shut them down..." He thought, making plans for later.

"Anyway...I guess it all started a long time ago..."Kitty said, as she found herself telling her story.

"I wasn't always this leather wearing biker babe you see before you...heck...I never would have even imagined this is what my afterlife would be like..."She said, looking a bit bitter.

"So you used to be human, not a denizen of the Ghost Zone..."Danny said.

Kitty nodded.

"Yeah, but you wouldn't have recognized me. For one thing, my colors be different, more human-like..."She said.

"What did you look like if you don't mind me asking?..."He asked, being curious.

"I was a red head for starters, fair skin and I had blue eyes instead of red..."She said. "Not only that but I'd even dress different...at least when I was your age..."She said.

"Really? Then what happened that made you like this?..."Danny asked.

"Johnny happened..."She said, giving a sad sigh as she began to tell him her tale.

REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:

Qazse: Lol XD

Jacob Fritzsching: How's this?

Invader Johnny: Yeah.

RonaldM40196867:

1) Yeah.

2) Danny probably doesn't want to do it since so far, Paulina hasn't done anything truly harmful, just annoying...but it doesn't mean he won't unless she learns to back off.

3) Yes.

Luiz4200: Happy Belated Valentine's day.

Rebfan90: Thanks :)

Leonardo: We'll see what happens soon.

Gdog90: Happy Belated Valentine's Day.

Hmilles02: Thank you :)

William Escobar 608:

8) ¿Disculpe?

9) ¿Disculpe?

10) Por favor aclara.

11) Por favor aclarar.
