Luckier In Love
Chapter 5: The NOT-Date Part II
Previously
"This pier has a new ride. It's pretty wild and I am not sure if it's your thing but-..."Danny was cut off when she grabbed his hand.
"What are we waiting for?! I haven't been on a roller coaster in YEARS! Come on let's go! Before the line gets too long!..."Kitty said in excitement as she dragged Danny through the crowds, eager to get to the ride.
Danny blinked in surprise at her enthusiasm before smiling a bit.
"I guess she's not so down anymore..."He thought as he went with her to get in line for the roller coaster.
Both Danny and Kitty were truly starting to feel better as their "Not-Date" continued.
Unknown to both ghostly teens, a certain shadow was close by...but no one and nothing was connected to it. This shadow suddenly began to growl and snarl before vanishing to its master while from a distance, a motorcycle could be heard.
Uh oh.
Present Time
Kitty and Danny (who was still in his disguise), got in line for the Heart-throb roller coaster, a line that was moving quickly.
"Oh, this is so exciting. I haven't been on a coaster in ages. I can't wait to feel the rush of air in my hair..."Kitty said with an almost child-like eagerness.
Danny smiled.
"Well, let's hope that this ride is a good ones..."The ghost boy said, happy that she's having fun.
"Do they still give out barf bags?..."She asked, as she recalled the last time she was on a roller coaster.
"Well, I don't know about the barf bags but I heard that this ride goes about 100 miles per hour through a bunch of hoops and tunnels..."He said.
"Cool, sounds good..."Kitty said, eager to get on it even more now.
After about 15 minutes of waiting, the line passed and soon, the two ghostly teens were put in the front of the car.
The guy, not realizing that Kitty is a ghost or that the town hero was in disguise here, just gave the typical instructions they usually give for these situations.
"Keep your arms and legs in the vehicle at all times..."He said as everyone was strapped inside the roller coaster.
"This is gonna be so awesome!..."Kitty said in excitement, looking forward to relive one of her favorite activities from when she was alive.
"I'm sure it will be..."Danny said before turning to her.
"Do you need any help getting strapped in?..."He asked as the ride was about to start.
No, I'm good. Thanks anyway..."She said as they were about to enjoy the ride.
Soon, they were off.
"Here we go!..."Kitty said, holding onto the rail, enjoying the ride as they went up.
"Yup..."Danny said as the ride kept going.
Soon, they were at the highest point of the coaster and they were at least 200 feet in the air about to make a nosedive over the edge. All while the green haired biker ghost chick tightly held on tight, eager.
"Here comes the fun part!..."Kitty said, excited.
"Hold on tight..."Danny said, holding onto his disguise as they plummeted.
Soon, the two ghosts and everyone else on the ride screamed and cheered as the roller coaster through a dozen hoops at 100 miles an hour, went inside a dark tunnel and soon came to a halt, all in under 2 minutes.
Kitty's hair was backwards thanks to the rush of air while Danny's fake mustache, shades and hoodie were askew and he had to fix up quickly before any crazy fans noticed.
"Whoa, what a rush!..."Kitty said, looking like she enjoyed it.
"Yeah, I nearly lost my disguise in that tunnel..."Danny said as they got off the ride.
Both left, unaware of how close their hands were to touching...for the time being.
A few moments later
Danny and Kitty were now off the coaster, taking a small break while Kitty still buzzed in excitement over the thrilling ride they had just been on.
"Man, now that's what I call a roller coaster. It might have even been better than ones back in my day..."The ghoul said, smiling wide.
Danny was glad that she has finally cheered up and wasn't down anymore.
"Glad you're having fun..."Danny chuckled. "Still, why is the roller coaster so fun when we can both fly?..."He asked. "Heck, I can fly faster than any roller coaster and I'm sure you can too..."He pointed out.
"True but this is still a fun ride. Plus, I know we can fly, but it's a relief when I don't have to, like one of those flat escalator things at the airport when you're tired of walking. Plus, it's kinda nostalgic for me..."Kitty admitted.
"Fair point..."The ghost boy admitted as they just sat down to relax a bit.
"Still, the green haired ghoul felt content as she sat down next to her (not-exactly) enemy and realizing that he's a lot more fun than she remembered.
"Weird...I wonder I never saw this side of him before? I guess I was so busy trying to make Johnny jealous that one time, I didn't really bothered to get to know him..."She thought as she recalled those days.
It had only been a week when she "dated" Danny and it was only to make Johnny furious and punish him for his wandering eye. She never really cared much about his presence outside of making him unfaithful boyfriend jealous...a plan she has come to regret but she had been so angry at the time.
Now, she is hanging out with and actually having a pleasant time with that same guy she used to make Johnny jealous...on the most romantic day of the year...and it's NOT a stunt to make her possible future ex-boyfriend jealous...in fact, she hadn't been thinking of Johnny for a long time now...and she liked it.
"He really is kinda fun to be around..."She thought.
"If you want go on another ride, I'm game..."Danny said, snapping him out of her thoughts.
"Oh, sure. I'm game too..."She said before a certain memory came to her.
One that she didn't mind sharing with him right now.
"You know...I know I shouldn't share things kept personal...but between you and me, Johnny is afraid to go on roller coasters..."Kitty teased.
Danny chortled when he heard this.
"No way? For real?!..."The ghost boy chuckled.
"It's true...even when we were alive, he'd avoid them...I used to think he would throw up but now it's just him not liking the way they go. He once freaked out when I convinced him to ride one with me, he ended up screaming and the coaster didn't even more yet for crying out loud. Not to mention, he STILL won't ride another one after that..."Kitty said, annoyed that she ever went to the carnival with him that one time.
"He rides a motorcycle that flies and he can fly without it too..."Danny pointed out.
"I know but old habits don't die...even when the body does..."Kitty said.
"Honestly, the only thing he ever really had going for him was his bike and being hooked up with me..."Kitty muttered, turning her head in anger.
"Glad to see your modesty didn't go away..."Danny chuckled a bit. "But I mean it, he's an idiot for treating you that way..."He said, meaning it.
Kitty smiled at that, feeling her tension and misery from earlier gone and now she was just having fun... with Danny.
"He really is nice...It's odd but he's almost like the kind of guys my parents might have liked..."She thought before smiling some more.
After a miserable holiday, she finally relaxed and started to feel much more comfortable now.
"You can say that again. Plus, he really isn't as tough as he likes to think. I bet even Johnny's shadow would get queasy if it ever gets on a roller coaster..."She said, earning a laugh from her companion.
"Yeah..."Danny said and the ghoul smirked a bit.
"You know Danny, I think this has not been the worst day of my afterlife so far..."She said in a coy way.
"I'll definitely take you're word for it..."Danny said, still chuckling.
"Where was this side of her when she overshadowing Paulina? I gotta admit, this is a side I don't mind seeing more often from her..."He thought, while she giggled a bit.
The green haired ghoul then smirked wider while the ghost boy smiled at her.
"So, wanna go on the coaster again?..."Kitty asked, eager to try this again.
Before Danny could answer, his ghost sense went off again.
"Of course..."He muttered sarcastically while Kitty frowned.
"Again? Sheesh, you're super popular..."She muttered sarcastically.
"Hey, it's not like I want this to happen...Plus, the way I see it, the less ghosts attacking, the better..."He said with a shrug.
Before Kitty could say anything else, they both suddenly heard the sound of an engine...
A motorcycle engine.
"Not him!..."The both thought in irritation as they turned around and saw who it was.
A very angry looking biker with greasy hair and a ferocious looking shadow with him.
It was Johnny 13 and he looked mad to say the least.
"Listen punk, you stay away from my girlfriend, dig?!..."Johnny threatened as his shadowed bared it's fangs, making it clear that they were here to fight.
Both Danny and Kitty narrowed their eyes as they realized that this lousy Valentine's day just got worse.

Hmilles02:
1. I wasn't making any references.
2. Maybe if they gave Kitty some character development and had her develop a friendlier relationship with Danny, then maybe.
3. Kitty might be a decent parent but I fell that unless Johnny matures a bit first, she's gonna be doing all the REAL parenting.
4. I think she would definitely love her kid and try to raise them as best as she can.
5. I haven't decided yet.
