Chapter 6: Here's Johnny

There was severe tension as Johnny glared at them. They glared back.

"Seriously, this is just like the last time!..."Danny thought as the biker got closer on his motorcycle, his attention on Kitty.

"Kitty, This has gone long enough...so, how about you come with me...now..."Johnny said in a possessive way.

Kitty narrowed her eyes and growled.

"Beat it, Johnny. I was actually having a nice time today!..."The ghoul said said, angry at the sight of him.

"With this weirdo?..."Johnny said as he tried to send a blast at the boy, frightening the citizens as they ran for safety from the ghost attack.

Thankfully, Danny managed to dodge by ducking down before getting back up, his disguise still in tact.

"I see even you can't recognize me..."Danny said as he quickly changed form.

Johnny blinked and frowned.

"You?!..."The biker ghost yelled in shock and got angrier.

"Hey Johnny. Going stag this holiday?..."Danny mocked as the biker growled.

"I can't believe she's with you of all people again!..."He shouted.

"Were you expecting her to be with Sidney Poindexter? Actually... even he has more class than you..."Danny said while the biker ghost pulled out a long chain.

Johnny growled and swung it at Danny, who shot an ice blast that made the front part fall to the ground.

"Your aim is almost as bad as your way with women!..."Danny said while the biker ghost snarled.

"You messed with the wrong ghost today, Punk..."Johnny said. "Shadow, attack!..."The biker ghost ordered.

His shadow then charged at Danny, who came out of the ground and came at Danny with claws barred.

"Long time no see, Dork of Darkness. I was hoping it'd be longer..."Danny said as he fought the evil shadow.

He flew upward, dodging the swiping of its claw. The ghost boy then flew about 20 feet into the air, readying for it to attack. It did so, attempting to slash his midsection, but his ability to make his body more elastic allowed him to stretch his upper body out of its reach before the rest of him rejoined, kicking it in the chin in the process.

Angered by that, the Shadow once again attempted to attack Danny, only for it go right through due to tackling into where his belt was, making Danny ripple like water.

Unaffected by that, Danny grabbed the shadow by the tip of its tail-like appendage and swung it away.

"Let's hurry this up, I got a not-date to get back to..." The ghost boy said as he charged his fists, making them glow green as he fired an orb of energy that launched the Shadow away.

Meanwhile

While Danny faced the shadow, Johnny was facing Kitty, who was looking so peeved right now as she saw him.

"I see you're trying to make me jealous again...well, it worked. Now come on, babe. I promise I'll be good..."Johnny said with an innocent smile.

One that Kitty saw through.

"Forget it, low life! One, I'm not trying to make you jealous this time and two, I haven't forgotten what you've done!..."She yelled, while she crossed her arms.

"What did I do this time?!..."Johnny asked and Kitty offended and then snapped.

"Uh, for starters...forgetting that today is Valentine's Day and hitting on ANOTHER girl while I was waiting for you with your gift!..."She shouted at him, while the biker looked dumbfounded.

"You're still mad about that?..."Johnny asked and Kitty felt like strangling him, evident by her hands vibrating.

"OF COURSE I AM, IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY! NOT THAT YOU WOULD EVEN BOTHER TO REMEMBER SINCE YOU DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER MY BIRTHDAY!..."The ghoul yelled, her eyes glowing brighter in anger as her face almost as red as her jacket right now.

Johnny stepped back, raising his hands up in a defensive manner as the green haired ghoul kept yelling at him.

"Whoa... come on, Babe. Is one sappy Holiday really that big of a deal?..." He asks dismissively.

"It's not just this day... it's every day!..." Kitty shouted at him.

"What do you mean?..." Johnny asks, not understanding.

Kitty rolled her eyes as she stood her ground, holding back the urge to attack...for now.

"I mean that its always the same thing! You're a lousy boyfriend and soulmate!..."She shouted at him. "Ever since we ended up in the Ghost Zone, you've made my afterlife miserable! First, you-..."

The Shadow landed in between them, making both of them step back in surprise. Danny flew in and picked the creature up by the stomach area, making it fold like a bag.

"Sorry for the intrusion... please... continue..." He said politely before taking the Shadow back up into the air to resume their fight.

Kitty blinked at that, awkwardly darting her eyes from Danny to Johnny before clearing her throat and continuing with her rant towards the greasy haired blonde in front of her.

"Uh... anyway. First! There's the fact that you wouldn't ditch bike for something easier to ride and there was also the time I warned you not to use your shadow to keep that portal open! I ended up getting split between the Ghost Zone and Earth for weeks!..."She yelled at him.

"You got better!..." Johnny said weakly, earning a vicious, hateful look from her.

"No thanks to you! It took forever and outside help to restore my body!..." Kitty points out, recalling those very, VERY unpleasant days.

It was no fun having parts of yourself being ripped apart molecule by molecule and the feeling that she could have completely fallen apart and never properly form again. She was just lucky that a few ghosts knew how to fix this or she might spent the rest of her afterlife that way...no thanks to Johnny, who right now, is trying to weasel his way out of facing responsibility.

"But we managed to go back to Earth in the end..." Johnny said lamely while the ghoul sent him a cold look.

"While you kept hitting on every girl you came across! Did fake breaking up with you to fake date Danny get it through your head?! No! After Christmas, you decided to keep at it. We have one fight and you go hitting on some meaningless human girl!..."She reminded him.

Johnny was about to speak, but Kitty cut him off.

"And if you even think of saying I'm the only meaningless human girl for you, that proves you don't think at all!..."She yelled at him.

The blonde biker ghost looked offended and tried to defend himself.

"But I do! I do think!..."He insisted but the green haired ghoul just rolled her eyes.

"About how good I'd look in a swimsuit, right? Or how other girls would look in a swimsuit?..."She scoffed.

The biker ghost frowned and rolled his eyes, before he tried to cool down with some sweet-talking.

"Kitty, baby...come on, I promise that I'll be good..why don't we hit up that diner we used to do together and maybe haunt a theater into letting us catch a free flick?..."Johnny tried as he sent her a smile, trying to reach for her.

However, Kitty slapped his hand away and stood back, looking even more angry and offended.

"Don't even TRY and sweet-talk your way out of this!..."She yelled at him.

"But Kitty...I love you, you know that I do..."Johnny tried but she crossed her arms and sent him another cold look.

She didn't believe a word he said.

"Is that right, Johnny? You really love me?..."She said with criticizing eyes. "I know that you don't since you spend more time with that bike than me! You just love anyone remotely attractive like a thing to own...Do you even remember what my actual name is?!..." She shouted.

"Uh... of course I do... it's...Kathy? Right?..." He asks with a terrified smile while the ghoul became livid.

"That's the girl you hit on last week!..." She shouted. "That stupid cashier at that coffee shop that you kept hounding even when she said she had a boyfriend!..."She shouted at him, looking over her shoulder.

"Oh... but that's because she... remind me of you..." He said weakly.

"Is that the best you can come up with?!..."Kitty yelled at him, facing him while bending. "She's a blonde with brown eyes and freckles! She looked nothing like me!..."She shouted, frightening him a bit by her volume.

"Baby...you got it all wrong really...I'm just used to your nickname...look, let's take this back home and talk there..."Johnny said as he reached for her, only to be sent back with an ecto blast.

"Don't you even DARE try to touch me again or think I'll listen. I'm not going anywhere with you or your stupid bike ever again!..."She yelled, stomping her foot with enough force to break the wood of the pier.

Johnny tried to talk again but she sent an ecto blast at him, first as a warning shot.

The biker ghost frowned, not liking that she's showing refusal to comply.

"What's gotten into you?! Ember and the chick in the shot red skirt hanging with you again?..."Johnny said and Kitty sent him a dirty look.

"Don't talk about my friends and I just told you that I'm not going anywhere with you again!..."She shouted.

"Babe, come on. A drive around town and you'll be back to normal..."Johnny said, only getting a vicious, almost incredulous look from the female as she gritted her teeth.

She couldn't believe that he actually thinks that she'll just act like this never happened with a simple ride around on his motorcycle. She also couldn't believe that she actually spent years putting up with this whole thing.

"You miserable...lying...unfaithful...overbearing...womanizing...there are no insulting words I can think of to properly describe you! I CAN'T BELIEVE I WASTED MY LIFE AND AFTERLIFE WITH YOU!..."Kitty yelled at the top of her lungs, with all the pent up frustration that's been building up for years.

"Kitty!..."Johnny said as she kept yelling at him.

"Do you even get it that I'm angry?!..."She demanded.

"Yeah... but come on, it's just one dumb day..."Johnny said, only to earn a disgusted scoff from her as she continued her ranting.

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT I EVER SAW IN YOU TO BEGIN WITH!I should never have gone out with you! I should have just stayed in school and find the right guy!..."She shouted, her eyes red and her ectoplasm boiling.

"Come on... you don't mean that..." Johnny said, but she wasn't letting him get another word.

"Yes, I do...I regret what we became! If I could do my life all again, I definitely would have avoided you if I knew you're the reason I'm like this!..."She shouted. "I SHOULD HAVE SEEN ALL THE SIGNS! MY PARENTS WERE RIGHT ABOUT YOU!..."Kitty yelled.

Johnny looked insulted at that and angry at the mention of her parents and that she's still blaming him.

"What are you saying? Where's this all coming from? You haven't thought about them in years. I thought you forgot about them..."Johnny said.

"I never stopped thinking about my parents...you just never listen or asked about them, you low life!..."She yelled. "I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THEM FOR YEARS!..."She shouted.

"When?..."He asked, not recalling that.

"HOW ABOUT EVERY TIME IT WAS THE ANNIVERSARY OF WHAT HAPPENED TO US!..."Kitty yelled at him in accusation.

Even Johnny knew what she was talking about but still refused to back down and act like she was acting irrational.

"It doesn't matter..."Johnny said.

"It does to me!..."Kitty snapped.

The biker ghost frowned.

"What are you saying? That you're suddenly listening to them? At least I stuck by your side as opposed to calling it quits and leaving town like your parents did..."Johnny said.

"Don't you dare use that against me! You're the reason it happened, you idiot!..."She shouted.

"I'm not an idiot! All I did was be the kind of guy you'd want! How is it my fault?! Johnny questioned, showing a lack of empathy for what happened to them.

"Maybe... gee, I dunno... because we're ghosts?!..." Kitty asked sarcastically, gesturing to the two of them.

"I think the green hair suits you..." Johnny remarked.

Kitty growled at that.

"Don't you DARE make light of what happened, or what you caused! It's your fault that we ended up like this in the first place!..."She yelled as she gestured to her ghostly form.

"I told you that we should have waited until the rain stopped or at least take a cab but you insisted on leaving at night and going through that stormy road anyway!..."She yelled, eyes tearing up as the memories of her final moments repeated in her mind.

Johnny hated being reminded of that moment and he still refused to own up to it.

"That bike was all I had and I told you that I wasn't going anywhere without it! I wasn't gonna leave it where people could've taken it while we were in hiding! I couldn't risk giving up my bike, so appreciate I was willing to go anywhere with you!..."He said insensitively.

"APPRECIATE?! You're seriously saying I should appreciate what happened to us?!..."Kitty exclaimed as she felt her ectoplasmic blood boil harder.

It took everything not to just assault him there.

"That's not what I said, I meant-..."He was silenced as he barely dodged another blast from her.

He saw that she looked angrier, if that was even possible.

"Shut up, you stupid, greasy-haired creep! I gave up a lot to be with you, including my own life and you never appreciate it. You've never appreciated anything I've done for you! You just took me for granted!..."Kitty yelled at him, releasing years worth of pent up anger and frustration.

"It's because of you our lives were cut short...because I didn't listen to all the red flags, I ignored them...Now, look at at us!..."She said, tears threatening to fall from her eyes as she had trouble fighting back.

Johnny expression became angrier as he yelled back.

"You think I liked having my life cut so short?! Don't forget I'm the one who was steering the motorcycle that night and saw those headlights heading straight for us!..."He pointed out.

"But you forget everything else!..."She pointed out.

"Like what?!..."Johnny demanded, looking more annoyed than anything.

"You never remember my birthday...or our anniversary...you never listen to anything I have to say either... all you do is act irresponsible, work on your STUPID bike and chase anything in a skirt!..."She yelled.

"Look, I know I made some mistakes but-..."He was cut off by another ecto blast from her, shutting him up upon being hit.

"SHUT UP! I'M NOT DONE! YOU JUST STAY THERE AND LISTEN UP BECAUSE I'M NOT REPEATING MYSELF!..."She snapped before she continued.

"This has been a long time coming! I don't know it took me all these years but I have had enough. All these years of me patient for you and supporting you, convincing myself that you'll change for the better BUT YOU DON'T! All the things I've done to make things work between us but you do little to nothing! It's the same back then as it was now! You always promise that you'd stop...that you'd change, that you'd prove to me that you only have eyes for me and that you only love me but I finally accept now that you're never gonna change! It's the same movie with the same terrible ending on repeat! Well, it stops!..."Kitty yelled.

"What are you saying?..."He asked, not liking where this is going.

"I'm saying that I'm done with you, I'm breaking up with you..."She said in a cold, controlled voice as she finally said what she kept bottled up for years. "It's over, Johnny..."Kitty said coldly, her face showing no regret.

For Johnny, the world just froze, unable to believe that he heard that or that he was getting dumped.

"You... you don't mean that..."He said, clearly in denial.

"I do! I don't ever wanna see you again! And if you even think of coming near me, I'll make sure that you can't ride your bike ever again! Plus, I have both Danny and Ember ready to pummel you..."She warned.

Johnny sent a suspicious look upon hearing his enemy's name, not liking the idea of why she used his name.

"Rocker chick finally make a move on him? Or is he you're new boy toy?!..." Johnny asks suspiciously, while his ex looked offended by that question.

"He's a friend..." Kitty said, crossing her arms.

Johnny didn't seem to believe that as it's clear she seemed closer to him than before. He narrowed his eyes in skepticism.

"A friend you seem to enjoy being around a lot more than me. If it were Ember, I'd get it since I know you're straight... but the punk? No... he's got some kinda hold on you!..."He said accusingly.

Kitty, turned red, both from anger and from how, though she hates to admits it, Johnny isn't wrong this time. However, she refused to be pushed around and put her foot down.

"Regardless, I've made it clear. I want you gone!..." Kitty said assertively, all love for the biker gone.

Johnny crossed the distance between them, grabbing her by the arm.

"We lived together and died together! You think I'm gonna let you leave me after all this time?!..."He said as he got closer to her.

The ghoul stepped back.

"If you so much as-..." Kitty argued, but was cut off as Johnny pulled her in and kissed her.

"WHAT DOES HE THINK HE'S DOING?!..."The ghoul thought in outrage.

Angered by the violation, Kitty made muffled shouts before pushing Johnny back and slapping him hard.

SLAP!

"Oww!..." Johnny went, holding his face where she slapped him.

"Let me go!..." Kitty shouted, pulling her arm out.

She then sent him a dirty glare as she wiped her mouth, actually disgusted with the taste in her mouth.

"How dare you do something like that after everything I just said?!You think that'd work on me anymore?!..."She snapped.

The blonde ghost just blinked and was at a loss.

"But... you always liked how direct I am..." Johnny said.

"Yeah... and I'm sick of it! I'm sick of you!..." She said, meaning it. "And would it kill you again to take a breath mint for once in your afterlife?!..."She added, still angry by that unwanted kiss.

The biker ghost narrowed his eyes and growled at that, not liking the rejection and disobedience from her.

"Well maybe I should remind you why people still call me Johnny 13!..."He said as he became furious. "You're coming home with me, Kitten, whether you love me or not..."He said as he gave her a look that made Kitty realize he wasn't pulling punches with her anymore.

Johnny reached out again, only for a white-gloved hand to grab his wrist.

"The lady said no. I know things were different in your day, but nowadays that's considered a good excuse to get your teeth knocked out!..." Danny warned.

Johnny pulled away and tried to swing a fist at him, but Danny dodged.

"Shadow, deal with him!..."Johnny ordered, only for nothing to happen.

Danny just floated there, a smug smile on his face as Johnny stared awkwardly.

"Shadow, what the heck are you waiting for?! Tear this Punk to shreds already!..."Johnny ordered, but still nothing.

As nothing happened, he looked away.

"What are you? On coffee break?!..." To his surprise, and horror, his shadow was gone.

Danny just smirked more, as he gestured to his thermos.

"Do you mean... the Shadow I put in this Thermos?..." Danny asks, still smirking.

"Wait, you caught him already?..." Kitty asks, smirking.

"Yeah... you kinda kept Johnny distracted long enough to notice what I did..."He said while Johnny looked like he was in trouble.

"MY SHADOW?! MY POWER?!..."Johnny yelled dramatically as he tried to flee.

"What a wimp..."Kitty said as she rolled her eyes at his cowardliness.

Unfortunately for him, the ghost boy already took care of his ride.

"Yeah... it was right around the whole forgetting that Kitty's real name is Katrina thing that I also smashed his bike..." Danny admitted.

"I never really did like riding on the back of that thing. He thought a sidecar looked too lame..." Kitty said.

Johnny realized he had no way out and groaned.

"Oh, crud!..."Johnny muttered as he knew this wouldn't end well for him.

Danny and Kitty both sent blasts at him, hitting him square on and into a building that he failed to turn intangible.

"THAT'S FOR THAT UNWANTED KISS, YOU CREEP!..."Kitty said, still angry at that.

Danny decided to end things as he did a quick punch and kick when Johnny tried to get back up, making him crash down again.

Once that was done, he decided to end it here.

"Looks like the end of the road for you, and your time with Kitty, Jerk..."Danny said as he used the thermos and sucked the biker ghost inside.

"THIS ISN'T OVER!..."Johnny yelled as he was sucked inside, now trapped.

The ghost boy quickly clasp it shut and placed it inside his bag for safe keeping.

"Finally..."Danny said as he wiped away some sweat he shed from the battle.

"Yeah... finally..." Kitty said, sighing and looked away.

It may have been needed, but it wasn't easy even though Danny was right about Johnny.

"It's over..."She thought, looking down.

Danny noticed that Kitty had an unreadable expression on her face and he was concern with her well-being.

He had been dealing with Johnny's stupid shadow while she finally told the biker off and it's obvious her battle was the more draining one.

"Are you okay?..."He asked as he slowly approached her, lightly tapping her shoulder.

To his surprise, the ghost girl just nodded with a few tears dropping from her face. She wiped them clean off. Despite what just happened, she smiled.

"I'm fine...I really am...I finally did it...I finally told him off and broke up with him all on my own. It was so cathartic..."She said, looking like a giant weight was lifted off her shoulders.

After so many years of lies, fighting, heartbreak and empty promises, she finally dumped Johnny and she did it on her terms.

She felt great, no longer trapped by a toxic relationship that made her miserable.

"I feel... free..."She said, taking a deep breath.

She felt like anything is possible now, now that she wasn't tied to Johnny...something she knew she should have done a long time ago but only now managed to do...all thanks to a certain guy who helped her.

Kitty then locked eyes with the town's ghostly hero, smiling at him.

"Thank you..."She said, smiling warmly.

"You called him out and dumped his sorry butt, that was all you..." Danny answered.

"But it was you who gave me the strength and will to do it. Danny. Thanks for keeping shadow busy for me while I finally told that creep off, I couldn't have done this without you..."She said, as she gave him a tight hug.

Danny was taken back by this gesture but he wasn't put off by it at all...

Still, he smiled and returned it.

"Anytime, Kitty..."He said, feeling like this was the right thing to say.

After a few moments, Kitty pulled away and sighed with a happier look.

She then recalled what they had been doing before Johnny showed up to spoil things and she also knew that they still had quiet a few hours before Valentine's Day is over.

"So...I think we have a not-date to get back to..."Kitty said in a hinting way as she sent him a wink.

Despite the sudden ambush from earlier, Danny smiled and nodded.

"Sure..."He said, offering his hand to Kitty, which she took.

The two ghostly teens then went back to the pier, the now single Kitty wanted to go back to the rides and continue where they left off

All the while, Kitty felt better than she had in years...all thanks to Danny.
