"Hey, Handsome!"

Page 1

Panel 1: Half-page splash, midday. Long shot of a restaurant patio with seated customers, looking outwards on to a busy street, not unlike Church Street in Toronto or The Village in Montreal. In the distance, a hazy black building with a logo that may look like a bat. A young Bruce Wayne, shorts and a casual button up, sits alone at a table.

Title: "Hey, Handsome!"

Caption: Before.

Panel 2: Medium shot of Bruce with pen and notepad. He is in sunglasses, face bruised from yesterday's wounds, knuckles bloodied.

Panel 3: Close-up of notepad. Cluttered drawings of superhero symbols and names (DC's forgotten heroes like Sir Hocus Pocus, Mad Hatter, Starman)

Panel 1: Medium shot of a good-looking man, mid-40s with a moustache, a fatherly air. He sits down at the table with Bruce.

Man: Hey, handsome, you look a little worse for wear this morning. What are you working on?

Panel 2: Medium shot of Bruce, covering the notepad.

Bruce: Oh, research… for a movie. I write the scripts or, try to anyway.

Panel 3: Medium shot of both men, locked eyes.

Man: Looks like a superhero movie to me. Those are some pretty bad hero logos though.

Bruce: They are? I don't know… I need a symbol that strikes fear into the hearts of criminals.

Panel 4: Close-up of the man, looking across the road.

Man: Hmm… I have an idea, one of my favorite places in town.

Panel 5: Borderless panel. Long shot of the hazy, dark building from earlier: "The Bat Cave," a fetish bar.

Panel 1: Close-up of Bruce, flustered and red.

Bruce: I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't believe leather, whips, and chaps scare criminals.

Panel 2: Medium shot of the man laughing.

Man: No, not that part… the bat! Imagine a man-sized bat taking down the bad guys! Now that's terrifying!

Panel 3: Borderless panel. Long shot of the two men at the table, "The Bat Cave" now clearly in the background. Bruce removes his glasses, looks at the fetish bar.

Bruce (whispers): Yes, that could work… a bat-man…

Panel 4: Closer to the two men. Both smiling, locked eyes.

Man (flirtatious): You know, I could take you to "The Cave" someday soon?

Bruce (blushing): … I'd like that.

Panel 2: Low angle shot of Batman, standing tall. A lightning strike in the background.

Panel 3: Long shot of the Man, looking in Batman's direction, surprised.

Panel 4: Close-up of the Man, smiling.

Man: Hey, handsome.

Panel 5: Extreme close-up of Batman's mouth, a smirk.
