A/N: For the review about the origin of chakra and bla bla bla, sorry but chakra is a belief in the real world in some Eastern countries. We didn't need to have Hagoromo to believe in chakra. This world is a fictional world. In most fantastic fictional worlds, magic is just there, without having a determined source. Either it's in you or it's around you (chakra/nature energy). No need to pull an origin story that takes away from the actual story we're trying to tell (especially if at the end of the day the goal is to make it an alien family's inheritance in a story about ninja and magic).

I'm still after Sasuke won against Bee, I'm far from the end of the manga, but for now I'm fine with a world where the magic is just there. I don't need Transformers and the cube source of power to enjoy a story.

About Naruto's behaviour not being the way I want it to be in the original, it's not that, it's just that Naruto according to the story was an orphan without anyone to take care of him, everybody rejected him and he had no one to talk to. Such child should have been reserved, careful around people, have violent reactions to physical contact (especially in the case he's been beaten up) and he should have trouble communicating and trusting people. A human being growing like that is mostly depressed and paranoid of the gaze of others, because it is associated with rejection, hate and sadness. Reaching teen years they would probably attempt suicide more than once (if the first try is a failure) due to being deprived of happiness and love.

If you have a problem, ask someone who works with children and teenagers in similar conditions of neglect and rejection. Humans are social creatures. If they can't EVER socialize (especially during their childhood), they fall into depression. Look at people put in segregation for long periods of time, they get crazy at some point. Loneliness and neglect don't produce human balls of positive energy.

.

Let's get started (I don' know what else to say).

If you want to talk about this story or any of mine (Ashera Fanfics), send me an invite on Discord at: Graal DTC#0625 (since the link to my Discord channel is broken on the fanfiction website). For updates, I'm very busy training for a new job so it won't be daily updates like it used to be. I don't update the same story all the time, I update the one I'm inspired in when I have time. Naruto: Away from Konoha has a complete 1st arc for example, so unless I get a high demand, I'll try to finish at least a full arc about my other main stories before going back to it eventually.

Reminder:

Naruto's abilities: Whirlpool Clone, (Substitution, Transformation), Transposition, chakra enhanced strength.

Kushina's abilities: Adamantine Chains, Whirlpool Clone, chakra enhanced strength, (ST), Sealing Arts (SS tier), Perfect Resurrection (yes she created it so she knows how to do it, she only burnt the scroll with the jutsu information because that's what every good ninja does with a forbidden jutsu, and she renounced on using the technique).

Sasuke: Katon: Fireball, (ST, Clone), Sharingan.

Sakura: (STC) (she's so weak…).

Chapter 2

The next month was hell for Sakura. Kakashi trained her hard to catch up with her teammates. He taught her a new jutsu, Doton: Inner Decapitation, which allowed her to dig a hole into the ground a reappear under her target to grab its legs and dig it into the ground up to the neck. Simple but effective to neutralize an opponent. He also taught her tree walking.

Now that team seven was on a more equal footing, Kakashi taught them water walking. Sakura's reaction was the funniest when she ended into the pond, but she was also the first to get the trick. Sasuke, smarter than the other two, decided to exercise without putting all his weight on his legs, sitting on the bank of the pond. Naruto was being used by the frogs as a new obstacle.

"Whirlpool Clone!"

A second ginger Naruto appeared and they both trained, progressing twice faster since each time it made some progress, it dispelled to give Naruto the memories of what had happened. But twice the speed was still slower than Sakura and about similar to Sasuke.

"Kakashi?" called Naruto. "Why can't we simply change into frogs and jump or swim?"

"Could you fight as a frog?"

"I don't think so…"

"That's your answer. Focus on your task, now. You're far from mastering it."

"Alright, uncle Kakashi…"

It took Naruto and Sasuke two days of training to start being stable on water, and two more to be able to run. By the end of the week, they were sparring on the surface of the pond. Sakura wasn't much of a fighter, but Kakashi didn't let her alone and kept her on her toes at all times on top of sparring with her.

Soon they started going on missions, from delivery to other places in the Land of Fire to securing supplies for the ninjas working on the border or in secluded places.

Kakashi noticed that an Anbu – a ninja working directly for the village leader – followed them everywhere they went. The most surprising aspect was the there were only two of these bodyguards. One had long dark ginger hair while the other had dark hair kept tight with a brooch.

'Seems like Kushina and Mikoto have been sent to ensure the children's safety. Since Itachi is still in the wild, it's not surprising that Sasuke is kept under watch. He might try to approach him to make him his heir…or whatever reason his crazy mind could find…'

.

"Hey mom! Tomorrow we're going to the Land of Waves to protect the workers who want to build a bridge with the Land of Fire! The old man told us that it was an important mission to secure a trade route with an allied country and help them grow in order to gain control over the sea traffic!"

"Great, Naruto! Be careful there, you could encounter dangerous people!"

"Then I'll just kick their asses!"

"Hahaha! Don't be overconfident, dear, you're not necessarily strong enough to do that."

"What are some brigands against the techniques you've taught me? I could beat tens of them at once!"

"As long as they don't use chakra. But remember that a weapon is still dangerous even if it's not enhanced! Chakra or not, a blade can cut you or stab you! So listen to me and be careful."

"'Kay mom!"

.

"Let's go, Mr Tazuna," announced Kakashi, "we have a long way to go."

"Huh, is that all? No one else is coming? Just one team?" asked the old bald man in worn out working clothes.

"Is there something you forgot to tell us about?" asked Kakashi suspiciously.

"N-no, there isn't… May the Gods protect us…"

"Not very convincing," commented Sasuke. "What are you hiding from us, Mr Tazuna?"

"…We have a little…issue…in the Land of Waves…"

"What kind of issue?" asked Sakura.

"A man called Gatou doesn't want this bridge to be built."

"So what?" asked Naruto.

"This man is hoarding all the riches of the island for himself. He's hired a lot of mooks to keep us in check so that we don't go against him."

"A mafioso?" wondered the ginger.

"Something like that. He has the whole island under his control. He's been exploiting the trading route of the Southern Sea as the only port around. He also has control over who crosses the strait. This way he can keep us from alerting other countries."

"How did you reach Konoha then?" asked the pinkie.

"My son-in-law managed to slip us past the guards and we took an indirect route, a very dangerous one. We nearly broke the bark on the reef while berthing on the shore."

"I see," commented Kakashi. "Gatou is indeed someone who backs down before nothing to get what he wants. He might even have hired ninjas if he noticed your absence. Let's bring one more team. We'll be safer this way, and in case there's danger more than I think, we'll be two jounin rather than one."

"But…I can't afford the price of a mission above C-rank…"

"Konoha needs this trade route," said Kakashi. "The Hokage will help you. We are loosing too much with Gatou's control over the Land of Waves. by making your country our ally, we will gain a strategic position in the sea trades. Sometimes, the price of a mission can be paid in other ways than direct payment. Like…a percentage of the benefits of your port, and a sea fish trade."

"I see… I'll do everything for my people. I accept your conditions in the name of my village. I can't speak for the other villages though, but we used to be the most important village before Gatou put his hands on our island. He cut the villages from each other in order to divide and conquer. If you rid us of him on top of protecting the construction activity, you'll get thirty percent of the benefits and you'll even get the rights to the port's security."

"That's fine with me," replied the silver-haired man. "I'll go get the other team so that we can go."

"Thank you," said Tazuna.

.

"How did you do that?" exclaimed an exhausted Kiba in his female teammate's direction.

"I just anticipated your movements and with my Byakugan, I could see Akamaru coming from behind. You two have different chakra paths, so it's easy to recognize one from the other," answered the black haired girl with lavender irises without pupils as the veins around her eyes went back to normal.

"That's cheating!"

"A ninja must use all the tools at their disposal, Kiba," affirmed Shino, a boy with a long coat hiding his hands and lower face. His sunglasses were hiding his eyes, so his expression was unreadable.

"Hi team eight," greeted Kakashi.

"Hi Kakashi, why are you coming to see us?" asked the dark maned woman with a paper-rolls-like dress with arrow patterns, a red sleeve covering her right arm but none on her left arm and a mesh cloth underneath her dress. Like most ninjas, she was wearing jikatabi boots – boots with the big finger separated from the others.

"I've got a serious mission. I was up for a C-rank mission with my team, but it ended up being more dangerous than the description said. I need another team and another jounin in the worst case."

"Have you reported to the Hokage?"

"I'll send him a messenger bird on the way. It's urgent. The client nearly broke their bark on the way here. We must depart immediately. No time to pack your stuff."

"Okay. Team eight! We go with team seven on a C- potentially B-rank mission! We leave now!"

"What? But…"

"I said now!"

"Okay…"

.

"So how are you guys doing?" asked Kiba to the members of team seven on the way.

"Uncle Kakashi is training Sakura seriously cuz she was bad at the exit of the academy," said Naruto bluntly, getting a murderous gaze from the pink haired girl. "Sasuke and I train with each other since we're both good at fighting. But Sakura blitzed the chakra control exercises while we were progressing slowly as hell."

"Yeah, something I'm BETTER at than you two!" said the girl aggressively with her tongue stuck out.

"You must have something where you're better than us, otherwise what would you do?" said Sasuke without expecting an answer.

"You're rude, Sasuke!" scolded Hinata. "You should talk better to your teammates."

"I'm just telling the truth. She's not a civilian, she's a ninja. If she wants to stay alive and not get us killed for protecting her, she has to become good herself. But our teacher seems to take his mission seriously. She's improved a lot since graduation."

"Hmph! At least you recognize that I've changed!"

"And I hope you'll get better. You're still just a support."

"Not everyone has to be good at fighting, Sasuke," commented Shino. "Sakura may be inferior to you in fighting ability, but what she can't do in a direct confrontation she might make up for in something as useful, like traps, terrain control, detection of danger or neutralizing opponents without harming them, which is useful to interrogate them."

"That's our nerd for you!" exclaimed Kiba joyfully.

"I guess you're right," admitted Sasuke. "Sakura, since we're two fighters and you're already behind in this, you should focus on being a good support. Learn everything you can to assist us and to make our fights easier or to prevent the fight in the first place. If we can save our energy and avoid wounds, we may be able to fight a tough opponent later that would kill us if we're exhausted and wounded even before they show up."

"Yes, Sasuke! I'll focus on being the best support!"

"Sasuke, stop manipulate our teammate," said Naruto with a sigh. "You don't need to…"

"Listen Naruto, she's willing to do something useful, she just needs some motivation. I give her a motive to get better so that she can be useful to the team. I don't care if I have to use her annoying obsession over me even though it's become less annoying after graduation, as long as she becomes a competent ninja. I don't want to leave my back to someone who can't protect it."

"Don't worry, I'll become your support! I also want to be useful! If I don't improve or find what I'm made for, I'll stay a genin for my whole life or I'll have to become a civilian. I don't want to become a liability!"

"Well, seems like it works…" commented Naruto in an embarrassed tone.

.

Two days later at a fast walking pace, they reached the shore where Tazuna's son-in-law had berthed. The man in the bark was in his thirties, a strong-willed fisherman according to his looks and his ability to drive a boat.

They hopped on the bark and spread the weight in order to ensure its stability.

"Hi Kaiza! I got us six ninjas! Isn't this awesome?"

"Yeah, it is… Let's go back to the village. We've got a revolution to prepare…"

The mood was not jolly at all.

"I thought we would be welcome," commented Naruto.

"Please excuse him, he's just lost his adoptive son."

"How can you look so happy, Tazuna? He was your grandson!"

"I'm not happy about this, Kaiza. Believe me, I'm angry. But I'm happy that we have gotten the manpower we need in order to free the village and avenge Inari! Should I be in a bad mood all the time? He wouldn't have wanted that. I'll have the rest of my life to grief. For now, what is needed is to take action. Now, let's row! This bark won't move itself to the Land of Wave!"

A/N: This story and re-watching an episode of Avatar the Last Airbender gave me an idea. I'll make a story of Naruto's travel with Jiraya using ATLA's storytelling to flesh out the characters, shape our protagonist and transform him into a responsible Hokage in training. Watch out for this new story that will start at the moment Naruto leaves Konoha in canon.

As for this chapter, well, I hope it was worth the wait. Learning my new job and the stupid 2h30 of car each day are draining me and I don't have time to write much (hell I'm sometimes close to falling asleep while driving because it's so long…). It took me three days to be able to write this chapter while usually I write them in a single time (the best being when I could write two chapters in a single day, back when I was writing Naruto: Away from Konoha).

Write you next time! Bye!
