[In Another Time, In Another Place...]

a man gasped as he shot his eyes open, and awoke in a cold sweat.
He breathed heavily in the near pitch black darkness of the room.

"ngghh...oh-oliver?" spoke a drowsy voice in the darkness.

The room then began to illuminate as a nearby mushroom glowed a faint blue.
Oliver turned to see a Thai woman with short, brown hair look at him.

"Oliver?!...baby, are you Okay?" asked the woman.

Olivier breathed out sharply. "y-yes, anne...I-I'm fine. I just...h-had a bad dream."

Anne reached out, and caressed Olivier cheek left hand...on account that her right arm was missing.

"hey...it's okay, honey. It happens." spoke Anne, in a soothing tone.

Olivier looked at his wife...he then leaned over, and gave Anne a deep kiss. "i love you...Annie."

Anne suddenly pinned Olivier down onto the bed and kissed him deeply.
Olivier could do nothing but submit, and let his wife have her way. "and, I love you too...Ollie."

Olivier smiled as he caressed Anne's face. He then returned her kiss, stroking her bushy hair as he did.
But he soon stopped as a 'bump' brushed against him. His hand glided over to Anne's belly...where a tight protrusion was.

Anne smiled warmly at her husband. "Junior's growing fast."

"not as fast as the last one we had." spoke Olivier.

Anne blushed. "y-yes, well...Amity was a special case."

"Indeed." was all Olivier could say regarding their (currently) youngest child.

Olivier then turned and laid Anne down on her back.
He then gently rubbed her belly that held their unborn child.

The man then leaned forward, and gave the baby bump a soft kiss.

"sleep well...daddy loves you." spoke Olivier.

Olivier then sighed as he laid back down beside his wife.

"Are you SURE you're okay?" asked Anne, concerned.

Olivier breathed out softly. "nothing I can't handle...I'll be okay."

Anne frowned. She then scooted closer, and placed her arm around her husband.

"don't blame yourself, hon...you did what was neccesary to save us all."

Olivier was silent...until finally uttering: "but was it enough?"

Anne wanted to debate...but chose to leave it alone tonight.
She closed her eyes, and eventually drifted off to sleep.

Olivier, however...stayed awake. Unable to rest as his mind wouldn't let him.

Olivier Clawthorne was only Thirteen Years Old when he first ended up in this world.
He left behind his mother, Eda the Owl Lady, who was struggling with a curse that he vowed to break.

But, Olivier had also promised to help Anne Boonchuy, and her friends: Sasha and Marcy
return to their own world after they too ended up stranded here in Amphibia.

But, despite being a Witch Boy...even his Magic wasn't enough to help them.

His greatest mistake (as was everyone else's) was ever trusting King Andrias of Newtopia.
And that Toad Wizard, Lord Grunge (which he REALLY should've saw coming, given his afinity for DARK Magic.)

Sacrifices had to be made...to protect loved ones that were literally World's Apart.
Which sadly, left them all marooned in this Frog World with no apparent way back to their homeworlds.

Not that anyone WANTED to leave...Not Yet.

Not while Marcy Wu was-

...yet again, Olivier found himself making another promise.

And, it was one that, like the others he had made...STILL had yet to Honor.

Olivier tried...he had tried so hard to save Marcy from her terrible fate.

But as Days turned to Months, and the Months into TEN Long Years.
Olivier wondered if this was yet another promise he wouldn't be able to keep.

Was he just fooling himself? What if he was just DOOMED to fail.

Why else did he marry Anne, and start a family here.
Like he somehow knew he would never leave this place, and attempted to start a new life.

even so...he couldn't give up on Marcy. She was HIS friend, too.
And even if it took him Hundreds of Years, he WOULD save her from the HELL she was trapped in.

As morning came to the town of Wartwood, a door opened from a literal *Tree House.*
Anne walked out of the large tree, and began to sweep the front porch clean with a broom.

Just then, something small ran between her legs from behind her.
It was a small, HUMAN girl with light brown skin and oddly bright blue hair.

"AMITY!...Slow down, young lady." spoke Anne, sternly.

The little girl stopped short. "sorry, mama..."

"Heavens to Betsy, child..." spoke Anne. "Where ARE you going in such a hurry!?"

Amity turned to face her mother. "Don't you know, Mama?: Aunt Sasha is coming to visit!"

"Really?" spoke Anne.

"YEAH! I wanna go see if she's here yet." continued the cyan eyed girl. "I think she'll be at Uncle Sprig's House."

"Well...Okay. Remember to behave yourself, then." said Anne.
"ESPECIALLY around your Great-Grandpa Hop Pop. He isn't as *young* as he used to be."

"Oh, I WILL MAMA! I promise!" spoke the energetic girl.

Anne sighed as watched Amity perform cartwheels in the grassy field that was their front yard.
Little Amity has so much energy...TOO much, even for a child her age.

But she had only herself to blame, as the night Amity was *conceived*.
Anne had chosen to remain in her powered up Calamity Form when she and Olivier got intimate.

How was SHE suppose to know that would affect how Amity was born!?
Granting her daughter the same Cyan Blue Hair and Eyes that she attained when transformed.

(Which is partly how *Calamity Amity* got her name.)

Anne would never say it aloud, but she was hoping her second child
would be more *docile*, given the more Normal circumstances behind their conception.

Regardless, Anne still loved her daughter...even if she was a tad too Hyper-Active.

[Elsewhere]

In another part of Amphibia...Olivier Clawthorne stood at a hilltop,
overlooking the landscape before him. His eyes were set upon the ruins of a destroyed castle.

Many years had passed since the literal fall of the Kingdom of Newtopia.
That day when King Andrias tried to use the Calamity Box to conquer the Multiverse.

...Starting with Anne, Sasha and Marcy's home world of Earth.

As Olivier stared at the destroyed castle, the memory of that day
played back in his mind like a movie he had seen hundreds of times.

If only things had gone Differently.

Now...the Calamity Box was destroyed, along with the gems that powered it.
And, King Andrias...was DEAD. Thus ending his family's centuries long reign of Tyranny.

While most residents of the rebuilt *New Newtopia* rejoiced in the death of their king,
There were also those that actually pitied the late king, feeling he was more Misguided, than Evil.

Olivier WASN'T among those that mourned his death.

Though he regretted his actions that led to all of this happening,
He didn't feel any remorse for the part he played in the death of that Salamander King.

no...his tears were reserved for his friend and pupil' Maddie Flour.
who was among those who died BECAUSE of King Andrias' selfish ambitions.

Olivier breathed out sharply as he began to approach the destroyed castle.
Entering what remained of King Andrias' throne room...the memories came back like a Flood.

The last thing Olivier could remember before his *blackout*
was watching Maddie being CRUSHED under Andrias' boot while saving Sprig.

Her tiny, broken body just laying there motionless with the massive boot print.

That was Olivier's last memory before he felt grief slowly become RAGE...and then, Nothing.
When Olivier awoke, he found the castle a burning ruin where it now stood today.

They say that HE did it...That he turned into a 'Demon', and destroyed everything.

Olivier didn't remember anything between Maddie's death,
and waking to see Andrias' castle a burning rubble.

(what he DID remember, came back in fragments in his nightmares.)

One thing he was certain of: It was all his fault.

Just then, Olivier was jolted from his depression and quickly turned around.
Standing afar from him...was a cloaked Toad that almost resembled Grimes.

However this Toad had eyes that were black pools that glowed red,
and had a far more malicious expression than Grimes ever could muster.

"grunge..." growled Olivier, bitterly.

Grimes' brother snickered as he slowly emerged from the shadows. "back to the scene of the crime, I see."

"stay away from me..." spoke Olivier, in a warning tone.

Grunge chortled as he slowly approached. "of course...because that worked out SO WELL for you last time."

Olivier turned his back to the Toad Wizard, not wishing to look at him.

"I *WARNED* you NOT to trust him..." continued Grunge, more sternly now.

"I told you what Andrias did to us. What his wretched family had done.
Yet, you chose not to listen to me...and LOOK what happened."

"quiet." said Olivier, not wanting to hear this.

Grunge grinned from cheek-to-cheek. "what would your MOTHER think...if she could see you no-"

In an instant, Olivier turned and fired streams of dark blue shadow energy from his palms.
The twin blasts hit Grunge, but harmlessly passed through him as if he were made of smoke.

The Dark Toad wasn't even there...he was just an Illusion.

"After all you told me of the Boiling Isles..." continued Grunge.
"About Emperor Belos...You REALLY should've known better than to trust King Andrias."

Olivier glared at the Toad, his once bright yellow eyes now an Icy Blue.
But as the truth of Grunge's words sank in, his eye color became began to alternate.

"Had you been more like your mother, Eda...and LESS like your Aunt Lilith.
Then MAYBE that little Charmcaster would still be alive right now." continued Grunge.

"See, King Andrias may've struck the fatal blow...but she was here because of YOU.

*YOU* were the one...that REALLY killed her."

Tears formed in Olivier's heterochromia eyes as Grunge's word echoed in his head.
Finally, the man couldn't take it anymore...and raced off in a streak of light and shadow.

Grunge just chortled as he faded away like dust in the wind.

Olivier ran at an incredible speed through the seemingly endless fields of the countryside.
Moving like a Gust of Wind, the world was like a blur as he race over and around the landscape.

Once upon a time, the simplest of magic cause him great physical pain.
They STILL did sometimes...but, he had much greater control now.

And, had had unlocked magical talents that even HE never imagined.

But, though he was able to outrun and outfight ANYTHING in Amphibia,
There were some things that he just couldn't overcome (try as he might.)

And though he LOATHED to admit it...Grunge was Right.
His mistakes made him just as responsible for Maddie's death as Andrias was.

He failed her...but, he WOULDN'T fail Marcy.

With tears in his eyes, Olivier ignored his pain and blasted off with an ever greater speed.
Like a shooting star, he headed in the direction that led back to the Frog Valley.

Captain Sasha was waiting.

[End of Part 1]

[Author Notes]

I decided to try and get back into my Amphibia Fanwork (and, BEFORE the series finale airs.)
by writing an Alternate Ending Epilogue of sorts to my Amphibia/Owl House crossover story still in development.

(or, as I tend to nickname it: "The Olivier Clawthorne Chronicles")

So, to say this is an AU is an understatement. In this story, Ten Years have passed since the current events of the series.

Anne, Sasha and Marcy/Darcy are 23 years old now (having been 13 when their adventures started)
and were never able to return back home (hence the title borrowed from a certain MCU film.)

In this part, I reveal that Anne at least managed to start a family with Olivier in Wartwood.
She is a mother now to a child who literally inherited her Calamity Powers (who I ironically named "Amity.")

Not all his Sunshine and Roses, though.

The reason for things getting like this stems from Olivier's past failures during the events of the series,
which while it did stop King Andrias and Darcy, had a heavy cost that he feels guilty over to this day.

(Such as Maddie Flour's death, and the Calamity Box being destroyed before it could return the girls home.)

Next (and, possibly final) Chapter will feature Sasha, and how her story ended in this Alternate Ending.
I should also make note that Anne having one arm in this story, I borrowed from another Amphibia AU

(Just to add more weight that this is a Bittersweet Ending that could've gone better.)
