Back in the Present...Olivier continued to stare down at Maddie's grave.
his gold eye shifting between blue and gold, while his still blue eye glowed bright.

Feeling his grief was getting out of control, Olivier quickly turned away.
Trying his hardest to banish the awful memory from his mind and calm himself down.

As Fleetwing hovered onto his staff, and froze into wood.
Olivier sighed as he continued to walk the path OUT of the Wartwood Graveyard.

"what am I ever doing...WHY am I still beating myself up over this?!" mused Olivier.
"I can't change the past, no matter how much I want to...so WHY am I obessing over it!?"

As Olivier passed the exit gate of the cemetery, he continued walking down a dirt path.
Passing by the many Palisman trees that he himself had planted in his youth over a decade ago.

Olivier smiled, thinking back to when his grandfather gave him a Palistrom seed
when he was just a little boy, and his promise to plant it somewhere special.

Olivier stopped for a moment to look as all the Palisman Trees that grew from that ONE seed...and smiled.

"I wish you could see this Grandfather...you would love it so much."

As Olivier took in the more pleasant memory, his gold eye began to gleam
while his blue eye dimmed, and started to brighten to gold as well.

He felt better now...though, he wasn't quite feeling like his old self just yet.

Fortunately, his walk had taken him to a place that held a much more pleasant memory.

Olivier walked off the dirt path, and onto a grassy clearing.
He then approached a pair of trees that bent in a way that they resembled a Heart-shaped arch.

Olivier then smiled, and closed his eyes...THIS was where he had his wedding.

[**FLASHBACK***]
[FIVE YEARS AGO...]

an Audience of Frogs, Toads and some Newts all watched as the now Eighteen Year Old Anne Boonchuy,
and Olivier Clawthorne stood at the heart-shaped tree arch with copper rings in their hands.

Anne was dressed in an Amphibia recreation of a traditional Thai Wedding dress
(as she had long since out grown all the clothes she had brought with her from Earth.)

Olivier wore similar clothing...though he also wore a long, flowing cape that was cut down
the middle so that when the wing billowed it, the cape resembled Bird Wings.

As the Newt Priest droned on, Olivier took his soon-to-be Wife's hands.

One was still flesh...the other, was a mechanical prosthetic.

Olivier frowned as he grasped Anne's false arm might tightly,
the memory of how she lost her real arm still fresh in his mind.

Anne then used her only real hand to gently touch Olivier's.
The young wizard looked into Anne's eyes...who gave him a comforting look.

She then reached into her pocket, and drew out a Copper Ring.
Anne held Olivier's hand, and gently slid the ring onto Olivier's finger.

It was a very simple act of her accepting him as her husband.

Olivier smiled, and pulled out his own copper ring.
He took Anne's hand...and he also slid the ring onto her finger.

And, when at last the priest said those words...they did not hesitate. "You may now kiss th-"

Olivier was quick to act...but Anne was quicker.
The two locked their lips into a DEEP kiss that felt like an Eternity.

The attendants all applauded, with the Plantars and Sasha clapping the loudest.

However, the applause was cut short by an even LOUDER sound...

((*THUNDER!*))

In a flash of Lightning, and rumble of Thunder.
Rain began shower upon the unfortunate wedding reception.

While everyone else abandoned their seats to run for cover,
only the newly wedded Olivier and Anne Clawthorne stood where they were.

With their ringed hands linked together, the pair looked up at the greyish blue sky.
Watching as the countless rain droplets fell from the heavens, gently hitting their faces.

Oddly enough, the rain brought an odd contentment to them.

It Brought them back to an old memory from when they were both thirteen.
Back to when they first met...and that one rainstorm that first brought them together as friends.

a great many things happened to them long after that day...but it all started in that moment.

Anne then looked to Olivier...and offered him her hand.

"dance with me." said Anne, a warm smile on her face.

Olivier froze, feeling a rush of emotion upon hearing those words.
He then took his Wife's hand, and the pair locked eyes as they danced in the rain.

Neither cared how soaked and wet they were getting...all that mattered was THIS Moment.

The two then joined hands, and began to spin around in a circle.
They laughed, feeling like they were thirteen again, despite now being adults.

Eventually, the wedding attendants emerged from their shelters once they realized
that there was no danger, and that the rain was only a harmless shower.

(Afterall, if there is one thing that Amphibians love: It's RAIN.)

Sprig and Sasha watched as Anne danced with Olivier, and they both smiled.
The two may've had their differences in the past, but they both agreed on one thing...

'If Anne was Happy...then THEY were happy.'

[Later That Night]

Somewhere in the Wartwood forest, Anne and Olivier were sitting together
beside a crystal clear pond at a lagoon that they had dicovered years ago.

It was a Romantic, a secluded spot where there was no danger,
and had the most beautiful view of the starry night sky.

While Olivier was sitting up, Anne was leaning against him.

"if this is a dream, I hope it NEVER ends." spoke Anne.

Olivier smiled at his new wife. "I feel the same way..." spoke Olivier. "SO, how do you like being: Mrs. Anne Clawthorne?"

Anne sat up and looked at her new husband. "feels...Weird. But, it's a GOOD kind of weird."

"Well, if you prefer to keep being 'Anne Boonchuy', I won't be offended." said Olivier.

"oh, no-no...It's okay." said Anne. "I like having your name...(heh), I'm a girl of MANY names now."

Olivier eyed Anne. "oh?"

"I am a Boonchuy...but, I am also a Plantar." spoke Anne.
"NOW, I am a Clawthorne. It's like I am part of Three different families!"

Olivier half smiled. "mom would've loved you...so, you aren't wrong there."

Anne gently kissed Olivier's cheek. "My parents would've loved you, too."

Olivier looked at Anne. "you think I would've made it as a Boonchuy?"

"Without a doubt." said Anne. "Especially in the kitchen...You mix the best spices."

"Comes from mixing potions with my mother back home, dear." said Olivier, with a smile.

Anne smiled again, and then snuggled up against Olivier.

"Sooo...what now?" spoke Olivier.

Anne looked at Olivier again. "Hmm?"

"I know we have our whole lives ahead of us..." continued Olivier.
"and that whatever it is we do from this point onward, we'll do it together...

But...since we're stranded here in Amphibia, and have to make a fresh start.
do you have any sort of plan for what you want to do with your new life here?"

Anne paused, and looked down at her reflection in the pond below.

"you know, it's funny...even back THEN, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life." spoke Anne.

"I just always went along with what everyone else did, or told me to do.
Even if what I did was wrong, I just did it anyway. I was such a People Pleaser back then."

"and, NOW?..." inquired Olivier, hoping this was going somewhere.

"I still want to be helpful to others...but I want to do it RIGHT." said Anne.
"but most of all...I want to make my parents proud, even if they'll never know it."

Anne looked at her husband. "My Parents always did their part for their community through their restaurant.

And, I will confess: Whenever I REALLY miss them, all I have to do is
cook their old Thai dishes, and it made me feel like they are still here with me."

"Are you saying what I think you are saying?" asked Olivier.

Anne didn't answer...she just reached into her pocket, and showed Olivier a drawing
on a piece of paper. The sketch looked like the Plantar's Caravan 'Fwagon',

only it had a few 'modifications' added to it. Primarily a sign that read in crude lettering: [LILY PAD THAI].

"You...want to start your own restaurant?" spoke Olivier.

Anne nodded. "One that travels from place-to-place, bringing Thai Food to ALL of Amphibia. Not just Wartwood at Stumpy's!"

Anne then looked down, half sad. "I...kinda got the idea from this guy my family knew back home.
He wanted to take 'Thai Go' on the road, but my mother wouldn't give him our family recipes.

...I hope they worked things out by now."

Olivier stared at the sketch again, and thought hard about his wife's plans.

"Something like this...It is quite ambitious." began Olivier.
"and if it DOES work out, then we just may spend more time on the road than at home."

Anne frowned, fearing that Olivier didn't like her idea.

"BUT..." spoke Olivier. "It this is REALLY what you want to do with your life-"

"It is...It's the only thing that feels right to me." said Anne.

Olivier smiled. "well then...you have my support. I'll help you in any way I can."

Anne smiled, then embraced her husband tightly. "thank you, Ollie."

"no, thank you." spoke Olivier. "because you gave me an idea for something that I want to do, too."

Anne parted from Olivier, and looked at him. "What is it?"

Olivier reached into his pocket, and drew out a tied burlap sack.
He opened it...revealing it to be full of some oddly shaped plants.

"these are Palistrom Seeds." spoke Olivier. "I gathered them from the very tree
that I planted in my youth, using the very seed that my grandfather gave to me when I was a child."

"cool." spoke Anne.

Olivier had a forlorn look in his face.

"I can still remember what my grandfather first told me when he gave me that seed." continued Olivier.
"He wanted me to not just plant a tree...but grow MANY trees with their own seeds that will grow.

There are already quite a number of Palisman trees growing in the Frog Valley.
But, I feel like I haven't honored my grandfather's wishes...unless there are Palisman Trees ALL OVER Amphibia."

Anne smiled. "I think I know what you are trying to say...and, my answer is YES.
I'll help you with your dream...while you are helping me with MINE."

Olivier looked at Anne...and smiled. "you really do have a good heart, honey."

Anne chuckled lightly at the in-joke...she then leaned forward, and began to kiss Olivier.
Olivier embraced his wife, and deepened their already passionate kiss.

They poured all the love they had into this one, simple act of affection.
and, As they did so...they felt a surge of power go through each of their bodies.

There was a blinding flash...and they finally broke their kiss.

Anne's brown hair and eyes were now cyan blue, as her Calamity Powers had activated.
She felt even MORE powerful now that previous times she changed, as he power was fueled by her Love.

Olivier had also changed as well, his once auburn hair now silvery white.
Both his eyes were bright gold, with his white sclera also glowing white.

Super Anne smiled as she kissed Super Olivier...which caused a flare up of energy from their bodies.
they embraced one another, kissing more passionately...more...INTIMATELY.

They stopped only for a moment to gaze into each other's glowing eyes.

Anne then pulled away. she smiled at her husband...and then reached behind her.
Olivier watched with wide eyes as the top of Anne's dress fell down. Exposing her bare chest.

Olivier's jaw dropped, his face turning almost every shade of red possible.
But before he could utter a word, Anne lunged forward and kissed him again.

Despite being in his powered up form, Olivier was 'powerless' to resist his wife.

The Mage finally gave in...and let Anne have her way with him.

"I...l-love...you." whispered Olivier, between kisses.

"show me, then." answered Anne, almost making a demand than asking.

In that moment...a great sound of thunder crashed, followed by Gold and Blue lightning.
And, once again...The Rains fell down upon the land of Amphibia.

It initially started as a gentle shower...but eventually became an INTENSE, torrential downpour.

[End of Part 05]

[Author Notes]

For this chapter, I decided to focus on a more positive event in this Alternate Ending Epilogue
by detailing how Olivier and Anne's wedding went (which is a subject I will revisit in other stories.)

I decided to give a callback to a scene from my main Amphibia story (a Witch Boy in a Frog World)
by having the now adult Anne and Olivier dance in the rain like they did when they first met.

(It felt meaningful, somehow.)

Along with a quite scene where the two discuss what they want to do with their lives now
(In which I reveal that Olivier has been planting Palisman Trees in Amphibia courtesy of his grandfather, Dell Clawthorne.)

OH, and I also imply THIS is the moment they conceived their first child in their super forms,
(which comically created another storm over Amphibia, because I think that's just funny.)

[Also, if I ever do write out that "particular scene" in full, I'll most likely post it
somewhere else, like on my "Archive of Our Own" webpage.]
