6.
"Late lunch guys?" the waitress asked, seeing regulars come through the door.
"Yeah, murders don't have a time schedule" Andy answered. "The morgue waits for no man."
"Or woman!" Sharon added with a theatrical raised eyebrow.
"HAH!" the waitress chuckled "I think you just got TOLD Lieutenant!"
Walking towards a free booth Sharon turned her head and raised her voice so that any LAPD officer who happened to be present would hear, and added "Don't mind Captain Caveman here Lucy, he's still mourning the loss of the Old Boys Club."
Several snorts and muffled chuckles erupted from tables and booths, and Andy turned four different shades of red in response.

Settling into the booth and ordering their usual, the pair settled into a comfortable silence, a triumphant grin playing at the edges of Sharon's mouth.
"Yeah, ok you got me. Congrautlations" Andy grinned crookedly at her.
"Well, Lieutenant, you shouldn't make yourself such an easy target" She answered.
"Oh... so I'm 'Lieutenant' again?"
"Andy... we're surrounded by LAPD. Not to mention several people from the D.A.'s office." she said quietly through her teeth but stifling a chuckle.

"Andy.."
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
"No. Well, I don't think so." she answered. "Why IS this so easy?"
The crooked grin returned. The one she found so frustratingly difficult to resist.
"Are you still waiting for a diagram?" he asked her, trying hard not to laugh.
"You are IMPOSSIBLE" she laughed in response throwing her napkin down on the table.
"That's NOT what I mean, and you know it. What I mean is, I don't feel weird about it at all."
"SHOULD you?" He asked.
"I guess not. But can we keep whatever this is " she waved her finger between them to indicate "to ourselves until we figure it out?" she asked.
"Ashamed to be fraternising with the help?" He laughed.
"No you idiot. I just don't want to be asked questions I don't have the answers for at this point. Ok?"
"I'm fine with that" he answered. "I'm just glad you're not denying there's something to figure out."
"Screw everyone else."
"No, I don't think I will, thank you Lieutenant" she chuckled.
Andy's face gave away the shock he felt at that comment and they both erupted into laughter that drew attention from the booths around them.

"So, are you still ditching me for Andrea tonight?" he asked her.
"She is still coming by after work, yes." she answered.
"I heard Provenza talking to Rusty earlier about watching some game tonight after burgers, which means he will end up on his couch.." Andy asked and let it trail off, watching for a reaction.
"Are you trying to proposition me Lieutenant?" Sharon asked with arched eyebrows.
"Well, you could text when Andrea leaves"... he countered "Unless of course, you are not up for a repeat performance" with that signature grin teasing her.
"Let's see, you have spent how long examining the carpet in front of my door, unable to speak, but clearly wanting to... and suddenly you've found you can be THIS forward?" she laughed openly enjoying his discomfort.
"Yeah, ok, I'm an idiot. But hell, you could have slapped me in the face and never spoken to me again for all I knew." he answered. "It was a lot to risk."
"Believe it or not, that's exactly what I told myself I should do for the first 1.2 seconds".
"Enough of this. Let's talk about something else before someone hears something they shouldn't."

The afternoon was uneventful as far as Major Crimes goes. No new cases, just a lot of paperwork catching up, or paperwork avoidance in Provenza's case. Tao did his best to draw them into conversation about the new episode of Badge of Justice he'd been consulting on. Everyone except Andy seemed to be enthralled, although from Provenza's random grunts it was hard to tell what his view was.
Andy looked up from the file in front of him to see Provenza studying him closely.
"What?" he asked.
"Who is she Flynn?" his old friend asked.
"What the hell are you talking about Provenza?" he responded in kind.
"You.. that's what I'm talking about Flynn. You bounce in here this morning like the cat that swallowed the canary, grinning and I believe I actually heard you HUMMING right after saying good morning to the entire squad room. That is NOT normal. I'm damned sure you didn't buy two identical suits, which means that IS the suit you were wearing yesterday. You've been grinning like an idiot since this morning and yet you haven't said a word to me about why. I thought we shared everything."

"Last time I checked, I don't have to tell you SHIT" he responded. "Even if it is the same suit, which it's not, and so what if I was humming?"
"Something's going on Flynn, or someONE more like it. The kid and I are watching the game tonight, if you're not too busy. Maybe you can fill us in on your sudden mood uplift during half-time."
"Sorry Louie, I have tentative plans, but I'll see you tomorrow. You and the kid have fun though!" Andy answered as he got up, threw his jacket over his shoulder, and walked toward the elevator without looking back.
