2. Tardis Registration.

Chloe studies location maps of the Gallifreyan Tardis Manufacturing company (GTM) and focusses on a room with several filing cabinets in it. She knows exactly which cabinet contains all of the Tardis registration documents - where every new type of Gallifreyan Equipment has been registered.

Chloe thinks of an evening shortly after her hurried departure from Gallifrey with her boyfriend Simeon (ref. 32).

She activates her thought-controlled Wristwatch Tardis...

A large filing cabinet with wide flat drawers stands open while a blueprint document lies on the table, apparently mid-study when the end of the working day had come. Everyone had gone home leaving the office empty but secure.
She's now locked into the Documents Room and has until morning to complete depositing her own prepared documents.

She marks which drawer is currently open and by how much it's open - she wants no suspicion of tampering, yet she must close the drawer before opening another. She puts on some thin gloves to prevent her fingerprints from going everywhere.

Chloe has visited this office on a previous evening to verify which drawer she must deposit her registration documents in and had found they are in date order.

As one of Simeon's colleagues from when he had worked in GTM had said, "I'm sure they just throw the documents in a large room and forget about them!" He was joking, but here is the room and here is the filing cabinet! .

Chloe checks the date on the top document. It still bears the same date as it had the previous evening when she had visited this room. Nothing new has been registered since then. She has based the format of her registration documents on similar ones in here.
Quickly, she leafs down through the stack of documents until she finds one with an earlier date, and she deftly pulls all the later documents out of the drawer and places them on top of the viewing table. Now she can place her own fresh documents in the drawer in the correct date order.
Replacing the documents she took out a moment earlier on top of her own documents in the drawer, she glides the drawer closed. Untraceable, she hopes.

Re-opening the previously open drawer to the same position, she removes her markers, wipes the drawer clean and removes her gloves.

Only now can she relax and permit herself to feel the relief coursing through her.

She knows this method of registration by-passes much scrutiny and questions which she couldn't be there to answer, but she feels that this way the secrecy of her device is maintained, yet it will still in some way be registered.

Curiosity causes her to view the document on the table. Someone had been viewing it during the working day.

... It's the workings of the Monitoring System for the limitation area Automatic Intrusion System on Gallifrey.
Someone must be trying to work out how her mother's clone, Crystelle One, had bypassed the Gallifreyan security recently (ref. 35).

Having completed depositing her own documents, Chloe has time to view this document with interest. Is there any way that security might have happened to be by-passed when she had brought her mother to Gallifrey recently? Might she change it to incorporate a failure that might explain her sudden appearance and disappearance?

Chloe takes a few photographs of the document to view later at home. She might possibly return and change something, but that would be wrong, just temptation, so she tells herself it's just for interest.

As Chloe looks up from the table, she sees a face at the window looking in! She takes a sharp breath in. She's been seen! How long has the person been there? What have they seen her do? This might spell disaster for her plan!

She pretends not to have noticed the face at the window and coolly steps behind the filing cabinet, out of view of the window. Suddenly worried and trembling, she just wants to get home. She thinks of home and activates her Wristwatch Tardis...

Who was that person looking in? Would it be a security guard, likely to alert everyone about her "break in"?

What should she do?

She decides she must send her boyfriend, Simeon, to check it out.
But then… that might have just been him! .
