12.
"Rusty, when they get here... not a word ok?"
"Yes Sharon. I will keep your secret so that you can spill it yourself. I promise"
"Thank you. They'll be here mid morning tomorrow, so you'll only have to wait until dinner time to be thoroughly disgusted again" she laughed and tousled his hair as she walked past.
It was almost midnight and as the movie credits started to roll, Andy stretched and yawned.
"Andy..?"
"Mmm..?"
"Don't go home tonight." she asked, not ready to let the warmth of his body leave her.
"Well.. it's not like we have to be anywhere first thing in the morning, and your two aren't arriving till closer to lunchtime, so I see no reason for Sleeping Beauty to sleep alone." he answered.
"Did I say anything about sleeping?" she wiggled her eyebrows at him.
He laughed a little too loudly and quickly tried to stifle it, remembering Rusty would now be soundly sleeping.
"Well, you'll have to be vewwy vewwy qwiet" he said Elmer Fudd style. "We don't want to give Wusty a weason to be wepulsed again do we?" They both laughed as quietly as they could as they made their way to the bedroom.
"She's NOT going to shoot you Ricky! She doesn't SLEEP with a gun in her hand you idiot!" Emily chastised her brother as the taxi made its way to their mother's condo.
"But what if she DOES Emily? What if we bounce in there at 3am like when we were little, jump on her screaming for her to wake up, and she blows our FUCKING heads off?" he wanted to know.
"Don't be ridiculous. She's going to love being woken by us, especially when I tell her I can't sleep because my sock fell off." Emily giggled.
"AND if we LIVE long enough, I can fart, tell her 27 stories about World of Warcraft and then when she's ready to shoot me, I'll kiss her on her cheek and tell her she's pretty." Ricky decided.
They were giggling like little kids when the elevator stopped at the right level, and they wheeled their luggage off behind them.
"Now, I have my key ready, but we need to be über quiet or we'll spoil it." Emily warned him.
"Leave our bags just inside the door so we don't make any noise"
They had decided not to pre-wake Rusty, because they had him in their sights for their second target.
Opening the door, the pair quietly stood their luggage inside, and slipped past it, closing the door as quitely as they possibly could behind them. The excitement of surprising their mother was almost overwhelming, and both were resisting the urge to squeal with delight as they made their way to her bedroom door.
"Wait!" Emily whispered.
"Lights on or off?" "On and pounce" Ricky answered.
"Ready?" "5,4,3,2,1 - light flick - SURPRISE!"
Emily screamed.
Ricky gasped.
"MOM! Is that..."
"What the HELL?" Andy said, rubbing his eyes but not moving.
He looked into the faces of the two speechless child-adults standing at the foot of the bed with their mouths open. Emily had a sock held out in one hand, but remained motionless.
"Um, morning you two." he said as he looked down at Sharon. She was on her side facing away from him, but tucked neatly against his body, and he could see even her arms were turning red. "It's still dark outside" he added.
"Andy..?"
"Mmm..?"
"Please tell me that Emily and Ricky are NOT standing at the foot of the bed looking at us. Tell me to wake up and get ready for them to arrive please."
"Sharon..?"
"Mhmm...?"
"I could tell you that. But I'd be lying."
As Sharon raised herself on one elbow, pulling the sheet up higher, to face the music, more footsteps approached. Rusty had been awoken by unfamiliar noise, and come to investigate.
"RICKY! EMILY! You're early...EWWWWW OLD PEOPLE SEX I'M SO OUT OF HERE", and with that greeting over, Rusty vanished.
Sharon groaned in horror, and pulled the sheet up over her head. "This is NOT HAPPENING!"
Looking around the room at the abandoned clothes, the absolute horror of the nakedness that was under the sheets dawned on her.
"Rick... no sock, no W.O.W. stories... come with me NOW." she commanded and dragged him out of the room behind her.
"Sharon...?"
"UGH! Yes...?"
"That's the last of the kids we needed to tell". Andy's crooked grin is all she saw when she turned her head.
