Ladybug paced up and down. She did not know what she was going to say to Cat Noir. But she had to make it up to him. He'd been accusing her of not letting him be an equal partner, and it was true. She hasn't been. Unknowingly, of course.

"Bugaboo?" Cat takes her hand, stopping her in her tracks.

She'd been so deep in her own thoughts, she hadn't even heard him show up.

"Oh Kitty, hi. Sorry, I was… lost in thought." She frowned. Now that she was face to face with him. She could see the pain that was so clear in his eyes.

Ladybug sighed and laid her hand on his check. "I'm sorry." She all but whispered as her eyes filled with tears.

Cat Noir frowned and stepped closer to her. "For what, Bugaboo?" He reached up to wipe away her tears.

"For… hurting you." She sniffed and smiled when he touched her cheek to wipe away her tears.

"I don't understand. Do… do you mean… when we kissed?" He asked, his face scrunching up in confusion.

Realising she wasn't making much sense, she let out a shaky laugh. "I mean, in general. I felt like I had to lead the team, be the boss, be the hero, and do it all alone. I never let you take your share of the weight. I didn't want you to get hurt by the burden or at all. So, I kept it all from you. Only now, do I realise, that was wrong. I should have told you everything from the start. The truth about everything! I'm sorry…" She looked up at him, not knowing when she had turned away.

He was smiling down at her, tears flowing from his eyes. As he brushed away hers. "It's okay, really."

"No, no, it's not." She brushed away his tears as she caressed his cheek. "I… I love you. I always have. And… I should have told you a long time ago. I didn't realise the extent of your pain of loving me alone. Until we kissed in the rain, and my heart ached for you. It hurt to know you'd felt this way, this whole time. Alone. Not anymore. I love you and I… I… want you. I want you every day, every night, every minute of every day, every second. Because, I love you." She choked on the sob that had risen in her throat. Not from her words, but from the look on his face. The poor elation, joy and sorrow.

"But we…" He began, but she cut him off.

Ladybug lifted herself up onto her tiptoes and kissed him. No brushing of lips this time. This time, she threw herself into his arms, lips pressed against his with such intensity, she surprised herself.

This time, it surprised him. It took him a few seconds to return the kiss. But did he ever return it. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her as close as their bodies could allow, and then some. He deepened their kiss with a fiery intensity of his own, drawing a gasp out of them both.

She tightened her grip around his neck and poured all the things she'd felt the last year of their lives together. The ache, the pain, the passion and love. She never wanted to stop, she never wanted to leave him. Maybe she had been wrong about their identities. Maybe she could stop Cat Blanc from happening. If they both knew their identities and were very careful, maybe she could, maybe they could. They couldn't continue this way. It's no better. They're just as vulnerable, heart broken and distracted. She just knows their love can save the world, not destroy it.

After what seemed like an eternity, they pulled apart a few inches.

"You really love me…" Cat Noir sounded shocked, as if he hadn't believed her words.

"Would I ever lie to my favourite kitty kat?" She smiled as fresh tears flowed from both of their eyes.

"Never Bugaboo, never. I love you too and want to spend the rest of my life loving you. Every inch of you, every moment of every day. Guess we'd better hurry and defeat Hawk Moth, huh?" He smiled, then frowned when she made a face.

"No, I'm sick of hiding. Sick of being too scared to live my life. To love those I love. To be with those I love. I love you, and I want to love you all day. Just not at night when we meet. I'm going to tell you who I am… is that okay?" She asked, a sudden pang of anxiety zinging all the way through her.

'What if he doesn't accept me? What if he only loves Ladybug and not Marinette?!' She must have had a panicked look on her face. Because she heard him chuckle as he placed his lips on hers once more.

"I will love you, no matter who you are. Unless it's Chloe. Then you're screwed." He smiled, then laughed out loud at the look on her face.

"Ok, ok." She stepped back out of his arms, suddenly feeling cold and alone. "Tikki… Spots off…" She closed her eyes as the flash of pink engulfed her. Keeping them closed, long after the glow had faded away. Feeling too scared and nervous to open, to see his disappointed face.

For a few seconds, no one moved or made a sound. Until Marinette felt the same strong arms envelope her body and pull her into a bone-crushing hug.

"I hoped it was you, I prayed! Marinette, I love you. But I was so much in love with Ladybug that I was too scared to let myself love you." He released her and stepped back a step. "Plagg, Claws in."

A flesh of green filled the area, leaving Adrien standing before her. Looking sheepish and terrified. "Hi Marinette, I love you. Do you… still love me?"

Marinette blinked in horror at the sight in front of her. The only 2 boys she's ever loved were the same person. What were the odds? Marinette gasped.

'Did Adrien just tell me he loved me?!' She let out a little shriek as she covered her mouth, her face the colour of her costume.

"I'll take that as a yes." He laughed again, sounding exactly like Cat Noir. How had she never made the connection before? That laugh, she'd know that laugh anywhere.

Adrien stepped closer and wrapped his arms around her waist, feeling whole once more. He waited for her to wrap her arms around his neck. Before he leaned down to kiss her. He'd always loved how she was just a head shorter than him. He'd imagined leaning down to kiss her, so many times, he'd lost count.

"Adrien… I love you too… I always have." She mumbled, moments before their lips met, in a kiss that was more passionate than any they have had before.

And they lived happily ever after…
