Pre-story, Asuna and her twin Argo go the summer prep! A.k.a the boring dorm cleaning before going to stay with their dormmates!
"Argo!" Asuna sighed and trotted down the staircase, toward where her sister's room was. Or at least where it was during the summer, when she and her twin sister wasn't at their boarding school. "Do you have everything packed?"
They were supposed to be staying for part of the summer with one of their friends, namely Asuna's best friend Rika. Who unlike Argo and Asuna, had friendly parents that were more than happy to work with their bright daughter. Whereas Asuna couldn't remember the last time she had actually seen her mother for more than an hour. Their father tried to be there for them, but more often than not, the twins were shuffled off to their sister Kizmel. Which was where they were right now, their sister's house.
Well, technically they were supposed to be leaving any minute, for the school, if only for their dorm's summer prep day. Namely the day they saw the other members of their dorm and all together deep cleaned the dorm with the aid of the janitorial staff. Rika, who had been going to this school the longest, never minded it, since she'd always just shuck her jacket and listen to music as she worked. Argo on the other hand?
Sort of.
The blonde tried to help and usually did her bit, but she got distracted without having anything to do and hated every moment of it with how quiet the halls and the school itself was. Which was likely strange and unsettling for the girl that practically had full control of it, much to their mother's ever loving frustration. Since it was rather hard to pull a student from a school when the media, thanks to Argo, would have a field day till she was reinstated as a student.
Just like partway through last year, when their mother realized that Argo had single handedly, besides her girlfriend, conned the entire school.
Not that she should be surprised since this was Argo. The girl who Asuna had spent most of her life trying to keep in line but failed most of the time with just how chaotic she was and how she had a simple desire to force the world into seeing truth whether they liked it or not, regardless of if she had to do something illegal to get it. The same girl that knew lock picking, parkour, electronic bugging, decent level hacking, and vent shaft layouts. Who had broken into their mother's study and located company secrets at age five.
Oh, and did she mention that she had met her girlfriend Caylee nearly being arrested by the world reknown hacker with a national level clearance that she now used to benifit Argo's tyranny within reason?
Yeah. It was pointless for their mother to try and fight back against Argo's unique sense of justice. Especially since they butted heads like no other and she didn't understand that shunning the golden blonde only made her more irritated and tempted to defy her own morals and blackmail her too, if only to teach her a lesson.
Asuna sighed, this was why she and Argo were always in boarding schools, this just happened to be the first school that Argo actually liked. Truthfully it was the first one that Asuna liked too, even before Argo had gotten control of the whole school. It was lax, very relaxed and laidback with it's students while teaching responsibility, so it bred creativity which as a musician, Asuna loved. And Argo, with her own issues with authority that didn't respect her in turn, had a blast in.
It helped that they had met so many people at the school, including but not limited to Argo's partners a.k.a the two she was dating, Asuna's best friends Rika and Shino, and many other people with abnormal level talents. Like Asuna's music abilities and Argo's conning and media control.
"Argo!" Asuna shouted her name this time, with a scowl, "answer me!"
"Eh?" Argo reemerged from her room and trotted toward the base of the stairs. Her optik was blinking rapidly, meaning that the girl was working on something or other through the fancy tech that she almost never took off. "I was 'elpin' Shiichi in GGO, but Ima 'eady, what 'bout ya, A-chan?"
Asuna rolled her eyes at her sister's messy hair and took her brush from her bag before reaching toward her sister, "at least try, to brush your hair Argo. I know you've been busy with that leaked article but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of your appearance."
Argo dodged the brush with a laugh and pulled up the hood of her athletic vest, seeming to be at least prepared for the summer heat and lack of air conditioning at the school during the summer. "Ey, my 'ood will work great, instead, 'ight, sis?"
"You better let your girlfriend brush it before we get there," Asuna half threatened her twin sister with narrowed eyes and pointing the brush at the golden blonde. "I'm not having my sister look like a fluffy mouse while we're at the school, fluffy overlord or not, you're fixing that hair of yours."
Argo's hazel eyes merely twinkled with amusement, but the cheeky of the two twins obediently took the brush, unzipped a pocket of her slim bag, and tossed it into it. "Deal," she hummed before her head was turning toward the front door before Asuna properly registered the soft footsteps of someone's arrival.
"Alright you two," Kizmel, their oldest sibling and only sister besides each other, smiled in amusement at the twins' exchange. "I've already got everything in the car for your trip, are you girls ready?"
The two twins didn't have to look at one another to confirm the other's answer as they spoke simultaneously.
"Definitely."
Part of Asuna wasn't surprised to see Rika running around chasing after her little brother around the grass at the edge of the parking lot and acting like the most stereotypical good with kids teenager rather than the friendly but extremely intelligent teen that she was known for being.
The brunette caught the little boy and tossed him a bit into the air before blowing raspberries against his neck, making him squeal and laugh. While Silica stood nearby her two siblings with her bird Pina, the sparrowhawk was pressing the top of it's head to her cheek almost like a happy cat.
Shino had also already arrived, as the ravenette was sitting up on the wall near Rika and Silica on her laptop with the device connected to one of her shoes. Likely having been hoisted up by her girlfriend since the wall was taller than Shino herself and almost everyone else here besides Rika, Caylee, and Kuroshiro.
Who of which were standing casually together near Kuroshiro's car, with Caylee leaning casually against her motorbike. Though the latter's outfit of jeans, an army green tank top, and running shoes with the holster of her pistol sitting tucked securly at her back and a knife sheathed and hanging around her neck suggested that she had been working before she had made it here. Since normally the secret agent rarely kept her real weapon on her rather than resorting to the stun gun, well, gun, Rika had made last year.
If nobody knew their names and faces, it would've looked like a casual group of teenagers besides Caylee.
Asuna contacted the girl, shooting her a message through her optic.
Asuna: Hey, can you tame Argo's hair for me?
Caylee: Sure, what do you want done with it?
Asuna: Brushed mainly, but a ponytail or something would be great if you can convince her to let you do it.
Caylee: Asuna, you know I can make Argo do anything. I'll take care of it
With that and the sensation of the car slowing to a halt, Asuna unbuckled herself. Before pushing her door open at her own pace. While her twin was already off, scampering away toward Kuroshiro and Caylee.
Honestly, Asuna just wanted to get this all done with so she could properly hang out with her friends after a couple weeks of being alone with just Kizmel and Argo. Which was a lot of fighting when their mother came over to reprimand Argo for not maintaining enough of a "Yuuki presence." Even though Asuna was known on the internet as an amazing singer and song writer while Argo literally controlled like half of the internet and her entire school.
