How Roman wanted to call Mox and tell him everything. He knew he couldn't. Mox would find out at the same time as the rest of the world. Very soon on SmackDown. Roman knew the deal. A secret was a secret. If he couldn't keep his mouth shut, he didn't belong in the wrestling world.
Mox had talked a lot about Adeline. A whole damn lot. More than he talked about most women with the exception of when he fell in love with Renee and couldn't shut up about her. This was different. It felt like Mox had been trying to talk Adeline up to Roman.
Roman had watched Adeline on tv. She came with a lot of buzz from the indie scenes. Adeline the castrator. A woman who got to wrestle men a lot of times. Nothing new there on the indie circuit. It was when she suddenly rolled through AEW with two matches against Moxley that the rest of the world who still hadn't heard about her suddenly got to know her. She was the talk of the town. When Mox put his career on the line in what would only be her second match there since she had beat him in the first match, people were beginning to wonder if Mox was leaving. And then Adeline lost. She hadn't signed with AEW. She just rolled through, saying hello to an old friend she used to fight on the indie scene, and then she moved on.
And now she had arrived in WWE. She was skipping the entire NXT system and debuting tonight on SmackDown. Hunter had convinced Vince to sign her. Vince wasn't stupid. He knew they needed more tough women to make the division even better. Adeline had refused to sign unless they allowed her one match with Roman. She didn't care if she would lose. She just wanted to face him before moving into the women's division for good. To Roman's surprise, Vince had agreed.
Roman was the only one who knew she was there. She had been allowed to hide in his private locker room all day. This had given him plenty of hours to talk to her, and he had loved every second of it. She was so sweet and heartwarming. Cute and beautiful too. Shoulder long hair with bangs that was dyed black and white. One side black, the other side white. Like Cruella Deville. Her eyes were bright green to a point where they almost looked neon green in the right light.
"Are you ready?" Heyman asked.
"I'm ready," Roman answered.
"You're taking the very well, I must say," Heyman said.
"I'm not against it. I'll admit I didn't know what to think at first but I saw her against Mox, and she's not some breakable, little doll in the ring. She can handle herself. And now that I've spent the day with her, I'm up for this. She deserves a great debut. She's worked her ass off to get here," Roman said.
Heyman smirked at Roman and nodded. The camera crew got their attention. It was nearly time.
"And action!" Someone yelled.
Roman walked the few steps down the hall to his locker room. He opened the door and stepped inside. The camera shifted to one inside that showed his face in a mix of confusion and anger.
"What the hell are you doing in my private locker room?" He asked.
The camera turned and revealed Adeline. It felt like the roof flew off the building with how loud people cheered.
"Relax, boy toy. Be a good boy and share," she said.
"Get lost!" He growled.
He grabbed her and hurled her out through the door. She landed on the ground. Heyman was still standing in the hallway while Roman slammed the door and stayed inside his locker room. The camera focused on Adeline as she stood up from the ground and stared at Heyman.
"Tell your disney princess there's a reason they call me the castrator," she said.
With those words she started walking down the hallway. Heyman knocked on the door to the locker room and Roman tore it open.
"She's gone," Heyman said.
"Who the hell is she?" Roman asked.
"I don't know, my tribal chief," Heyman answered. "But I will find out right away."
"You do that. And tell them to get my music ready. I'm going to the ring to address that bitch," Roman said.
The show cut to commercial and Roman went to gorilla. As soon as they were back, his music started and he went to the ring with Heyman.
"Wise man," Roman said. "Did you find out who she is?"
"Some boring, little thing who couldn't cut it anywhere so she's desperately trying her luck here," Heyman said.
"What's her name?" Roman asked.
"Adeline," Heyman said.
"Adeline," Roman ran his tongue over his teeth. "Adeline, get your ass out here right now!"
Music started and Adeline stepped out on the ramp. She stayed on top of the ramp while Roman stayed down inside the ring.
"I don't know who you think you are but around here I'm in charge. I'm the tribal chief. I'm the head of the table. And there's no room for you at my table," he said.
"You're the head of the table," she smirked. "I'm the naughty girl under the table. The difference between me and other naughty girls under the table is that I bite."
Most men in the audience made faces of pain while most women cheered. It wasn't hard to picture Adeline biting a dick off of some unlucky man. Roman gritted his teeth for a moment before following her line about biting.
"I'm gonna chew you up and spit you out," he said.
He stepped through the ropes and she wisely took off before he made it up the ramp. It wasn't time for a match yet. For now the wrestling world would talk about it for another week. He walked to his private locker room and wasn't even surprised when Mox called a minute later.
"Hi, Mox," Roman said.
"I knew you'd like her," Mox chuckled.
"She's nice," Roman said.
"Nice? Come on, Roman, I know you. Adeline is everything you love about a woman. Don't deny it," Mox said.
"I'm not. I'm just busy thinking about other things than getting laid," Roman said.
Mox didn't say anything. A dirty trick of his to break Roman in very few seconds. If Roman didn't get a respond, he would usually keep talking on his own.
"Fine. I like her," Roman said.
"I knew it!" Mox yelled.
"But that doesn't mean she likes me too," Roman said.
"Of course it does. I know her as well as I know you. All there's left is for one of you to invite the other out, and the rest will be history," Mox said.
"Dude, I can't worry about that right now. I have to fight a woman for the first time in my life, and I'm afraid to go too hard on her," Roman said.
"Too hard on Adeline?" Mox asked.
Mox started laughing like crazy. Roman sighed and waited for Mox to be done.
"Listen," Mox said. "Adeline loves hardcore wrestling. It's no different than wrestling men. Do what you always do. You got this. She's safe with you, and you're safe with her. And put her through a table."
"Why?" Roman asked.
"She loves going through tables," Mox answered. "I doubt Vince will let her beat you so put her through a table so she gets a happy outcome of the one match she gets against you. You have no idea how many times she's talked about wanting to fight you. You're her dream come true. So put her through a table and then ask her out."
"You're impossible," Roman chuckled. "I gotta go. I'll talk to you later."
He hung up and looked towards the door when someone knocked on it. He walked over and opened, and found Adeline standing there.
"I just wanna thank you for doing this for me. I know you didn't have to agree with it, and that would have ended in me not signing, so thank you so much, Roman," she said.
"No problem. It's gonna be fun," he smiled. "How about I ask Vince for a no disqualification match?"
She broke out in a wide smile that gave him the answer before she said it.
"I would love that," she said.
"Consider it done," he said.
"Thank you so much," she said.
"Can I have your number? Just in case I need to talk to you about it during the week," he said.
"Of course," she said.
He handed his phone to her and she put her number in it. He took his phone back with a smile. He had gotten her number with a lame but acceptable reason, and he sure as hell would use it during the week.
"I'll see you next week," she said.
"You sure will," he said.
She walked down the hallway and he watched as she walked. He could see by her way of walking that she was happy. She looked like she wanted to start dancing. She suddenly held her fists up in the air and yelled.
"I'm gonna love it here!"
He chuckled and nodded. She was going to love it with WWE. He would go out of his way to guarantee it. And he was going to love having her there.
