"Hey…" It was strange, she was actually looking at him, those teal colored eyes more curious than flat and blank, "how come you stick with him when he does stuff like this?"

Why did he stick with Kirito when he was always fawning over Asuna?

That was a good question for her to ask, even if he already had an answer for her.

"You're bein' to serious, Shiiino," Klein chuckled and tucked his arms behind his head while he leaned back in his chair. It wasn't exactly hard to get comfortable in the soft armchair and the armrest served as a perfect place to put his controller while they weren't playing.

Shino had already put hers down on the floor in front of her beanbag alongside her glasses, probably so she could see the large screen sharper with her far-sighted nature from what he remembered of Rika saying.

"Hanging out with his girl is no biggie," he hummed when Shino's piercing gaze didn't waver.

"I don't think so," she muttered with a roll of her eyes in her usual sarcastic way and turned her gaze to Kirito and Asuna which he followed. "Multi-tasking is a thing."

Ah, there was the flat stare he and everyone else was used to.

"Well yeah, but…" he admitted and looked over at the black and teal haired girl, who he really only knew because someone else in his friend group knew her. He wasn't really surprised that she didn't agree with someone devoting all of their attention to their partner and ignoring their surroundings and other people.

From what he had heard, though it could be very wrong since it was from Kirito, Shino didn't do "understanding people." She wasn't a people person and it was very rare to get a smile out of her, muchless getting any personal information out of her. So having someone else devote all of their attention to their significant other while in the same room was probably against her whole nature.

"...isn't part of a friendship being there and waiting while you're busy or being lovey-dovey like my man Kirito and Asuna are being?" Klein pointed out and at the blank look at him that practically said, 'no,' he tried another angle. "If Rika was here, wouldn't you be spending your attention on her?"

Her expression didn't change, even if her nose turned a little red. "No," she deadpanned and leaned back in her beanbag and letting her hood crumple a bit against her shoulders, "because I'm a civilized human being who cares about my friends, unlike Kirito's dumbass."

Damn, Shino really was being cold today.

Klein groaned and removed his arms from behind his head to prop his head up on his hand with his cheek pushed up a little in a goofy way. "It's part of being bestfriends dude, kinda like you, Asuna, and Rika, you know? You'd be by them at every moment right? Even with Asuna freaking out?"

Shino kept her flat stare before after a few moments of a staring contest, she eventually rolled her eyes. "That doesn't I wouldn't walk away and wait till she comes back. Asuna's not like Kirito either. He's an idiot, Asuna's not."

Welp, he tried.

"It's called Loyalty, Shi-Shi," someone spoke up from behind Klein and the voice belonged to a certain engineer.

Thank god, explaining things really wasn't his fortey!

"Ey! You made it, pinkie!" He grinned and lifted his head so he could see some of the engineer and lifted a hand toward her for a fist bump.

"Sup," Rika grinend back and completed the fist bump before they together slapped their hands together twice as she spoke, "course I did, just cause I have a life outside of games, unlike you dude, doesn't mean I can't still show up and play sometimes."

"Hey!" Klein complained at the little jab and Rika just smirked while she jogged across the room. But he was smiling, cause that's just who she was. "I'm not a neet like Kirito!"

"Just cause you took one lesson from Shi-Shi-"

"And failed," Shino added in with a reminder of just how badly his attempt at learning parkour had been.

"Oh come on!"

"- doesn't make you suddenly not obsessed with videogames dude," RIka finished her sentence and swiped Kirito's controller accompanied by a slap upside the head to the poor guy.

"Ow! What the hell!"

Rika merely gave a formal bow and Klein laughed, and he could've sworn he saw a flicker of a smile on Shino's face at the engineer's goofy actions. Rika really was him, just a year younger, a different gender, with a bit more brains, and with the same awesome attitude.

"Anyway," Rika continued as the couple went back to themselves with Kirito pouting and she walked toward Shino and the beanbag. "What was the whole, 'loyalty' thing about?" She asked as Shino seemingly begrudgingly moved over. So the other girl knelt down and started sliding onto the beanbag too. Jostling Shino a bit, who just grunted grumpily in the process so she was half on Rika's lap with the latter curling partway around her.

Well now it was the perfect opportunity to tell Rika what it was all about.

Klein grinned, "oh nothing much, just…" the one eyed glare from Shino around having her other being closed from having a cheeky engineer affectionately snuzzling into her cheek was epic and totally worth it. "Why I'm sticking with my man Kirito while he's being a lovey monster with Asuna~"

Rika's eyes practically lit up and the very loose casually lazy hug around Shino's waist tightened and Klein smirked at the crinkling of the corners of the engineer's eyes.

Oh man, this was gonna be amazing…

"Oh really?" Rika hummed casually and Klein saw Shino tense before the engineer smirked widely and all but seized the parkour girl with her fingers jamming into her waist, causing Shino to jump and shove at her face with a hiss and a glare.

"Rika!" she was cut off with a strangled growl when Rika blew a raspberry against her neck, "knock it off!"

"Asuna's still our friend," Rika grinned while Klein laughed and Shino inched away from Rika's breath at her ear, practically acting like a spooked cat. "Same with me being Asuna and Kirito's still~"

"Shut up!" Shino snapped back and tried to squirm out of Rika's hold, "and get off of me!"

"Come on, Shino," Klein grinned and propped his head up with his hand, "it's fun watching you chill out a bit, just relax, right Rika?"

Shino all but wrestled Rika's face away from her while the latter laughed but seemed understand some sort of signal that Shino was gonna lash out if she didn't leave her alone. So she flopped onto her back on the beanbag instead.

"Pretty much," she hummed casually while Shino brushed her fringe out of her face, probably trying to relax while listening, "yup. It's kinda like…"

"It's pretty sweet that Asuna and Kirito have a relationship that they can just relax about, ya know?" Klein pointed out, and let up on Shino a little by straightening up and tucking his arms behind his head again. "It takes a lot of courage to just chill with your partner and stuff."

"Especially since they have to rely on our loyalty, you know?" Rika added and turned her head toward Shino with her arms tucked under her head, just chilling there in her typical, 'I don't care how I look,' way.

"What?"

"Our loyalty," Klein took over and gave the ruffled Shino a casual rather calm smile while Rika turned her head back and shut her eyes. "You know, the stuff that means we'll stick with them even if they take a bit to themselves and their girl or partner really," he added, just in case. "They shouldn't feel guilty for hanging out with them, so-"

"So why pressure them?" Rika added with a mild humm, "Klein's right, and that's why even if Asuna and Kirito are pretty mushy a lot of the time, we still stick with them. They're our friends and that means we'll just let them be when that's what they want and hey, if they want to be mushy in front of us then that's fine too."

"Well yeah," Klein leaned back in his chair and faced the screen at the front of the room, "it's not a big deal or anything."

He could've swore he saw Shino's fingers brush Rika's sleeve, but he didn't turn his head.

Being loyal to all of his friends sometimes meant pretending he didn't see anything, at least till they were comfortable in his presence and also toning it down a bit. Because not everyone could handle his levels of chaotic awesomeness that Rika and Kirito shared with him.
