The remaining five gladiators tied up an unconsciouss Lindsay. Holding the collaborator hostage might keep Barnes and the other soldiers at bay for now. But they had no food, no fresh water, and eventually Barnes would take his chances and try to attack them. This made the group disagree over the best option.

.

Gaines: I say we kill Lindsay now.

Mcnamara: We kill her now and Barnes and the others come in and kill all of us.

Gaines: Not all of us. They shoot at us until only one of us still stands. But we delay, and eventually they figure out how to rescue her. Once they get Lindsay to safety we'll never get to her. Then the soldiers just hunt us until we're all dead. We kill her, at least one of us lives.

Mcnamara: You're assuming that they can control themselves, but in the heat of battle there's no guarantee that they'll stop shooting in time.

Gaines: I admit, it's not a great plan, but it's the only chance for any of us to live.

Lindsay: There might be another option.

.

The group was surprised that Lindsay woke up, but had little interest in what she had to say.

.

Reese: What makes you think you still get a vote?

Lindsay: You kill me, they will probably kill all of you.

Reese: Maybe, but at least we get to kill you.

Lindsay; I suggest we play russian roulette, and keep playing until there's only one alive. You could set it up with cameras so that Barnes could monitor, and he'd have to let the winner go.

Reese; She's just trying to save her own life.

Gaines: Yes she is, doesn't mean she's wrong.

Reese: You're the one who was stupid enough to trust her.

Gaines: Wasn't the first time I was wrong, hope it won't be the last. I hate to say this, but colonel Mcnamara is right, we kill her we might all die. We delay too long, she might escape, and we definitely all die. We do russian roulette, at least one of us lives.

Reese: I'm not a fan of any idea where this traitor might live.

Gaines: Well I'm a fan of any idea that increases my odds of living.

Mcnamara: I don't know. I still want to try and escape.

Gaines: I'd like that too, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Mcnamara: Let's just calm down, then we can vote on our best option.

Reese: You better hope I don't survive this bitch. Because if I do, I'm going to find your baby, and molest him.

Lindsay: No. Please, my son is innocent, he's barely a year old.

Reese: That's his problem. I'm going to enjoy watching him bleed to death. You did set me up with Jeff, didn't you?

Lindsay: I thought one of you would just kill the other. I didn't know he would rape you.

Sarah: And reverend Clarence?

Lindsay: Barnes said I had to kill him, then I could flee to his protection.

Sarah: Why him? He was no threat to anyone.

Lindsay: He didn't say. I guess the network didn't want the pacifist to win, might set a bad example for future seasons.

Major Barnes had set up a command post and was briefing his right-hand, Nick Mancuso.

.

Mancuso: How do we get her out of there?

Barnes: I'm not sure we can. We have an obligation to protect her. If we can't, if word gets out that we can't protect our collaborators, future gladiators will be much less likely to cooperate. If we fail, we eliminate every last one of them.

Mancuso: Understood sir.

Sarah and Reese spoke to each other quietly.

.

Sarah: You wouldn't really molest her baby, would you?

Reese: I'm not attracted to children, but I want her to think I would.

Sarah: I agree she needs to be dead, I just wouldn't hurt a child.

Reese: I would, if I had to. But I'm guessing that a pardon wouldn't allow me to commit future murders. Still, I have no problem with making that kid into an orphan.

Sarah: What's the difference exactly between us and Lindsay?

Reese: Maybe there is none, but I'd enjoy killing her more than killing you.

.

Alan York and colonel Mcnamara also spoke quietly.

.

Alan: You think Gaines is right? Should we just play russian roulette until only one of us is left?

Mcnamara; Maybe, I just don't like the idea of killing my own people.

Alan: Wasn't that always how it had to be?

Mcnamara: Maybe. But when Clarence made the offer, I started to believe again. That I could fight for my men, protect them like brothers.

Alan: It was a trick, by that traitor over there.

Mcnamara: Yeah, I guess it was all a lie. I just need a little time to at least try and think of something better.

.

While they all talked Gaines stood quietly in a corner. He had no more allies, but one of those two teams might soon need a third person. He was ready to ally with whatever team he had to.

It began raining again, and hard. Their smartphones all said it would last about another hour. This gave colonel Mcnamara an idea.

.

Mcnamara: We have only one chance to escape, we just go out, and use the rain as cover, shooting our way out if possible. Barnes might not expect such a direct approach. It's not perfect, but it's the best chance we have.

Gaines: But if we kill Lindsay first, then he might expect it coming.

Mcnamara: I have an idea on that, we might be able to improvise with the things in this shed. But we need to move quickly, because at most we have less than one hour.

.

There was fertilizer in this shed, likely for the nearby garden. Not much, but it was enough for the colonel's plan. While colonel Mcnamara worked on this device, Lindsay knew she would not survive. She made one last desperate plea to Sarah.

.

Lindsay: I know you're going to kill me, and I don't blame you. But please, promise me you'll look after my son.

Sarah: I don't owe you anything.

Lindsay: I know, but I'm desperate. My son is innocent, and my mother might not be able to take care of him. Just make sure he's okay. I'd do the same for you if the situation was reversed.

Sarah: It's easy to say that now. But okay, if I survive I'll make sure that your baby is okay.

Lindsay: Thank you.

Reese put the gag on Lindsay's mouth, mainly as a precaution. Then, the group followed Mcnamara's plan and simply ran out into the rain, looking for any vehicle they could see. Barnes and his soldiers were indeed surprised, but they eventually fired upon them. The gladiators returned fire. In the rain, noone could see their targets clearly. The gladiators soon found a van and stole it, driving away as quickly as possible. Barnes saw on his phone, Lindsay was still alive. He and three soldiers went to the tool shed, and found Lindsay tied up. Through her gag Lindsay tried to warn them about the Improvised Explosive Device, but it was too late. The IED exploded, killing all five inside the shed. It was a relatively small explosion, but it was contained by the shed, thus it was effective.

.

The following is an excerpt from Lindsay's last recorded statement.

.

Lindsay: There is nothing I wouldn't do to protect my son, or to get back to him. It's that simple for me. I don't want to kill anyone, I'm sure a lot of these people are good people just trying to survive. But I can't think about that. I just have to do whatever is neccessary to win my freedom. That's what I have to focus on now.

This episode is dedicated to major Harris Barnes.
