Apartment Raiders
Natsu and Happy were snickering as they tiptoed up the stairs of Lucy's apartment, with mischievous grins on their faces. They had no jobs to take on at the moment, but since they had nothing else to do and they couldn't stand around at the guild hall all day, they had to resort to goofing around at Lucy's apartment. However, that would result in breaking her rule of no intruding the place and it had to happen to her every time she would return home.
Lucy was walking down the road with her friend Ariella, having a conversation about how their day was. As soon as they arrived at the front door, Lucy opened up and the girls headed upstairs to her room. It seemed like nothing was there inside of her room when they got settled, but the sound of rustling in her bed startled Lucy not long after having a seat at her small table.
"Is something the matter, Lucy?" Ari asked her.
"Um, i-it's nothing…," Lucy answered apprehensively, even though her body was starting to tremble. "L-Let's just have some tea and chat some more."
The bed continued rustling some more, and Lucy was still feeling uncomfortable. Had someone broke into her apartment yet again? And if so, she knew exactly who would commit the act.
I have a bad feeling about this…, she thought, a bead of sweat running down her face. The covers were suddenly pulled down and out came Happy, to Lucy and utter Ari's astonishment.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY BED?!" she screamed, her jaw dropping and her eyes bulging out.
"Lucy, haven't you forgotten which will be the right time to kiss Natsu?" the blue cat asked her.
"That's right, Luce. Time is flying by, especially when you're out on jobs with us!" Natsu added, after emerging his head from underneath the covers.
"HAVE YOU TWO GONE MAD?!" Lucy shouted at them.
The sound of Lucy's yelling was ringing in Ariella's ears as she was watching them from the sidelines. She was uneasy about how strident it was for her; however, she felt that she had to do something and attempt to mediate between the three mages.
"Get out of my bed and out of my house this instant! This is yet another time you clowns have broken into it!" Lucy scolded them.
All Natsu and Happy did was snicker, further angering the celestial wizard. The nature wizard, on the other hand, had opted to stay out of the incoming shenanigans as because she would leave Natsu and Happy up to Lucy.
"You can't just sneak inside and hide underneath my covers, especially when I have someone over!" Lucy insisted.
"Unfortunately, you have left your door unlocked, so that's why they were able to infiltrate your home," Ariella explained, leaving Lucy in a state of shock.
The girls heard Natsu's gleeful cry of "Woohoo!" and they turned to see him spinning around in her stool that was next to her vanity, where she would do her hair and makeup with help from her celestial spirit Cancer.
"Lucy, how do you stop this crazy thing?" he said, with a burst of laughter that soon followed.
"GET OFF OF THERE!" Lucy shouted.
Natsu continued to laugh and spin around in her stool; however, Lucy would be in for a mortifying sight when she spotted Happy digging into her dresser. He pulled out a pair of pink panties with a white bow on the front and landed on the floor.
"Look what I found! Panties!" he said to Natsu, with a mischievous smile on his face.
"You put those back!" Lucy snapped, pausing them from their comical schemes.
"You're in trouble, Happy," Natsu teased, as he hopped off of the spinning stool and made a lap around the place.
"I'm a bad cat," Happy said, frolicking behind him with her panties still in his paw. He then proceeded back to her drawer and pulled out more panties from them, hurling one at the laughing Natsu as he said each time: "Panty raid!"
"Outside this instant!" Lucy demanded, opening the door to her room. The pink panties smacked right into her face, and she removed them as her face tinted crimson with fury. Oh, those two would be in for some chastising from her!
"Lucy, let me try to stop them," Ariella replied, only to witness Natsu using a pair of paddles to pretend he was rowing a boat—across the floor. He had found them on his way up to her apartment earlier, and the reason why he was rowing across the floor is because he would get motion sickness if he were to use an actual boat—and it would be too crowded for a small room like Lucy's.
"Stroke! Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!" he chanted, as he continued rowing.
"NATSU! YOU'RE SCRATCHING THE FLOOR!" Lucy exclaimed stridently, placing her hands on her head.
Ariella's blue eyes widened in shock at the sight of Natsu, and as Lucy said, she could probably hear him scratching the floor with the paddles. Or maybe not?
Natsu continued rowing across the floor, repeating the "Stroke!" chant in the process. He was having so much fun being this goofy, along with his best feline friend.
"Here I come!" Happy cheered, as he jumped onto Natsu's abdomen with a frivolous giggle and flew up in the air. "Boing!"
Natsu held the paddle like a baseball bat and gave Happy a good smack with it. "Whack!" he shouted mischievously.
"Zoom!" Happy added, as he was flying across the room.
Lucy made a mad dash toward her closet, which was open, and Happy crashed right inside of it. Once he recovered, he spotted a box written "COSPLAY PROPS AND ACCESSORIES" in black marker and lifted up the lid to see an assortment of props and accessories for Lucy's costumes.
"You okay, buddy?" Natsu asked his best friend, approaching the closet with the girls.
"Look what else I found," Happy's voice replied.
Lucy's brown eyes widened in horror, and she screamed at him: "NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT!"
Happy was gazing at a prop of Sailor Moon's moon stick, which Lucy had bought a few weeks earlier at a costume shop from out of town.
"Pretty."
"PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THAT! IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE AND I SPENT WEEKS SAVING UP FOR IT!" Lucy shouted again.
"Lucy, you're going to strain your vocal chords and voice box if you continue yelling at them," Ariella reminded her.
"I'm sorry, Ari," Lucy answered, in a normal tone of voice. "I just hate it when these two drive me crazy, especially when they're at my apartment!"
"Where does she get all of these costumes from?" Natsu asked, as he was browsing through an assortment of cosplay costumes that Lucy had hung up in the back of her closet. He pulled out a Super Sailor Moon costume and gazed at it, much to Lucy's dismay.
"Put it back! Now!" she demanded. However, Natsu ignored her and took out another costume: a red bunny suit.
"That's a lot of costumes she has," Happy said, hovering over to him with the Moon Stickprop in his paws.
"I'll say. It's no wonder why Bickslow called her the Cosplay Queen," Natsu teased, before the two began snickering again. Lucy remembered the first time she was called that by Bickslow during their fight in Magnolia seven years ago, and it was quite embarrassing of her since she battled him in her cheerleader outfit she wore for the Miss Fairy Tail contest! The second time she was called that dreadful name was during the S-Class trials at Tenrou Island, when she was Cana's partner and they faced off against Freed and Bickslow.
"I AM NOT!" Lucy snapped, red veins popping up all around her head. "Now get out of my closet and out of my house!"
"Okay," they replied, leaving the closet with the Moon Stick prop, Super Sailor Moon costume and the bunny suit. Just as they were about to head for the door to her room, however, Natsu felt himself being tripped on the floor by Ariella's Poison Ivy Bind and Happy being pulled back by Lucy's whip. Lucy snatched the Moon Stick prop from the Exceed and placed him on the floor as she headed back to the closet to put the prop back in its original place.
Ariella gave Natsu a stern glare, something the fire dragon slayer did not see from her on a regular basis. He knew right away that she was being serious, for Lucy's sake.
"Hand them over back to Lucy," she ordered him, just as Lucy re-emerged from the closet.
"We'll give them back to her as soon as we show them to Bickslow," Natsu answered her. "Wait until you hear him laughing and teasing her!"
A bright red blush formed on Lucy's face, as a vision of Bickslow taunting her for having costumes stored in her closet and him calling her "Cosplay Queen" for the third time. She did not want that to happen!
"No!" Lucy cried, waving her hands in front of her body. "Don't show these to him!"
"But it'll be hilarious," Natsu said with a grin. "I can't wait to see the look on his face."
"No, it won't!"
"Natsu. Lucy and I are telling you again. Give the costumes back to her, apologize to her and leave," Ariella insisted once more.
The fire dragon slayer hesitated for a moment, and then he got up from the floor and handed the costumes back to Lucy. It was a relief to her that they had finally settled down and realized what they had done in her place was wrong.
"I think we may regret this, Natsu," Happy whispered to him.
"Yeah… after all, we were just bored from a lack of good missions from the request board," Natsu replied to him in a whisper.
"Well, Natsu, Happy. What do you have to say for yourselves?" Lucy asked them, her hands on her hips and frowning crossly at them. She had just stored the costumes back inside the closet and the Moon Stick prop back inside the box where it belonged: on the top shelf of her closet.
"We're sorry, Lucy…," they apologized to her, bowing before her.
"It's alright," she replied. "Just please don't do it again the next time I have friends over.. You have to learn to respect others' property, and you wouldn't like that if I messed around in your place and went through your stuff."
"We won't," the two answered her, and they said goodbye to the girls before heading out back to their own home.
"Well, I'm glad they learned their lesson about raiding my place," Lucy said to Ari. "Now, shall we have some tea?"
"Of course," Ariella replied with a smile. "It may be what you need to soothe your vocal chords."
"That may be right. Now, where we left off in our discussion…?"
