Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've written anything and somehow my passion for writing never dwindled. I used to make a lot of people happy with my stories and I hope to do it again now that my writing as well as my imagination has gotten stronger.

I hope you all enjoy my new story based on the Wizard101 game that I fell in love with when I was a child. I will try to keep up with the chapters and actually complete the story so I don't leave you all hanging onto the thought of "what will happen next"?

Feel free to leave reviews, both good and bad are appreciated. I look forward to hearing your input!

Enjoy!

The Mirror World

Chapter One

It had been many years since The Spiral had known the meaning of true horror, where monsters haunted every corner, every street and every world. Five worlds had been tormented by the evil schemes of the previous Death Professor, Malistaire but he was finally brought to his knees. Ten years have gone by and although more threats come and go, The Spiral is beginning to find piece once again, all thanks to Amberly, the Savior of Wizard City.

Now reaching her 28th year, Amberly has begun mentoring new Wizards in their studies to become masters, themselves. In her world, she was famous for being the one to single handedly take down the biggest threat of The Spiral and to this day, she is only remembered for that one mission. No others she had embarked on had ever compared and there was a part of her that missed the adventure. No other mission was the same for on her journey's other Wizards intervened and eventually pushed her aside to become heroes themselves. Amberly was slowly beginning to feel useless.

In the middle of October, she was called into Headmaster Ambrose's office, she hadn't seen him for days and wondered what he could possibly require of her. With all the aspiring Wizards now taking control of "saving The Spiral", there was nothing she could think of that she'd be able to assist him with that so many others could do just as well.

"Amberly! Come in! Come in!" Ambrose said gleefully as he waved her into his office. "How have you been, my dear?"

"Quite well, Headmaster. I just got done teaching the art of dueling to the new First Years, I believe them to be the brightest group so far!" Amberly said with a grin, trying to keep her true worries buried deep inside her. She wasn't sure of the reason that Ambrose had called her in today, she could only hope that it wasn't something bad. Malistaire had already made an attempt to return to the world of the living, leaving Amberly no choice but to terminate him for a second time. Could there be a way for him to come back again?

Ambrose laughed in rhythm, almost sounding like the great St. Nick himself. "You say that every year."

Amberly giggled, knowing that he spoke the truth. She almost spoke up but the Headmaster had beaten her to it.

"So! I bet you are wondering why I had summoned you today!" Ambrose bent over in his large chair, ruffling behind his desk in search of a specific object, only to find it difficult to locate in his mess of papers and books. After several seconds of rummaging, he finally found what he was looking for. "Ah! Here it is!"

Ambrose held up a box which he placed down on his desk, the young Wizard before him merely stared at it in confusion. When he removed the lid a shimmer of light seeped out from within that nearly blinded the Wizard that stood too close. Reaching inside, he took out a round mirror with a golden frame about the size of a basketball, holding it up as if it were a trophy that had been won.

Once adjusting her vision to the light, Amberly admired the beauty of the mirror that was held before her. But what impressed her the most was the amount of magic that was radiating off of the object like the heat of a flame. She was speechless, she could find no words to escape her lips, all she could was stare.

"What I hold in my hand is the Mirror of the Mind, an enchanted mirror that had been said to be lost for thousands of years," Ambrose began to explain, keeping it held high in the air. "Five days ago, it resurfaced."

"Where did it come from?" Amberly asked in curiosity.

"It is unknown where it had been for all these years and no one knows how it came to be in Wizard City," Ambrose said vaguely. "There is a legend that states that this mirror is somehow alive. That whoever is to look inside it will succumb to its incredible power."

Amberly now realized why the Headmaster was holding the mirror above his head, he was keeping the glass out of her eyesight to prevent her from glancing within the tempting magical glass. "So why not destroy it? Or at the very least, get rid of it."

"It is not that simple," Ambrose admitted. "The mirror has a way to hypnotize whoever is in close range of it, pulling them in and forcing them to look upon the glass. To this day, no one has ever survived a single look." He paused and slowly lowered the mirror to the level of his chest, in full view of his Savior. "Until now."
Amberly could feel her heart pounding in her chest, she kept her eyes on Ambrose hoping that they would not be too tempted to glance into the mirror. Her worry was growing the more her mind wandered. What is going on? Why did Headmaster bring me here? What does he want with me?

"There's no need to be frightened," Ambrose said calmly. "I was the one who looked into the mirror."

"What?!" Amberly said in surprise. All she could think now was what could the mirror have done to him?

"Although the mirror is indeed formidable, my power had exceeded its own." Ambrose had hoped that this would calm the Wizard a bit more but it didn't seem to work, she was still as tense as ever. He smiled. "The mirror tried to take me like it had so many others before me, but I fought back and won. Afterward, I realized that I had full access to see where it would have taken me if I had not succeeded. Would you like to see?"

"Is it safe?" Amberly asked in an instant, not wishing to be tricked by some sort of copy of her beloved Headmaster.

Ambrose chuckled. "Yes, child. The mirror is dormant, it can no longer hurt anyone who looks into it."

Amberly was hesitant but eventually took a few steps closer to his desk, peering forward at the reflection in the mirror. Her eye brows lowered in confusion for it was not herself she saw, it was something else entirely. "It's Wizard City."

Ambrose grinned. "Precisely! An exact copy! Or rather, a reflection of Wizard City!" His excitement almost frightened Amberly but that did not stop him from continuing. "This mirror entered the inner parts of my mind and copied what I love most in this world and the longer I watched the more I could see that there were people living inside. Actual people!"

"Do you think they are real or just copies of people you've met in your life?" Amberly asked as her curiosity grew. She got closer to the mirror and took a longer look at the reflection, she soon saw what Ambrose had described.

"That's the troubling part, I have no idea. The secrets of the mirror is still too vast, there is so much that has not yet been discovered about its origins." Ambrose set the mirror onto his desk and leered over it, trying to see if he recognized anyone inside but they were too small to see. "Now that the mirror has been suppressed, it is safe to venture inside to uncover those secrets."

"Wait, what?" Amberly said, startled by his sudden comment. She almost didn't believe that she heard him correctly.

"Amberly, you are the Savior of Wizard City, the only Wizard to triumphantly take down Malistaire on two separate accounts. You are the bravest, strongest and most worthy to take on this task, only you can do this." Ambrose never broke eye contact with his Savior, sending with his words a tremendous amount of faith. "Will you accept this mission to venture inside the mirror, record notes of the civilizations and report back to me with this knowledge?"

Amberly was in awe, she couldn't find the right words, she couldn't speak at all. Go inside of a magical mirror that has killed whoever looked into it by trapping them inside? Is it as crazy as it sounded? Could such things even be possible? Real people living within a mirror, another world that was a copy of her own. Magic is part of her life now; she's known nothing but magic for over fifteen years so the possibility of a real world created inside of a mirror shouldn't be that hard to believe. With magic, anything is possible.

She had to admit, the thought of going on this kind of adventure did sound very thrilling. Going to different worlds was what she did, it's what she was best at. Saving people. So why should this be any different? In all honesty, it might be scary but it was a new challenge that she was actually excited to experience. Just thinking about how she would be remembered after saving this mirrored world, a world that no one else would be able to visit. No one but her.

Amberly closed her eyes, taking in a few deep breaths to try to calm her nerves. Her head was going back in forth, filling with worries and possibilities. She knew that she would never get another opportunity like this and it could change her life, change this world! Forever! As she reopened her eyes, she smiled at the old man who was begging her to risk her life once again for the lives of the unknown. It was then that he too began to smile. "When do I leave?"
