'Just another day in paradise…'

That was the lone thought of a certain young red haired woman as she sat outside of Jubilife Village's Salon in her favorite spot, looking at the sky.

'Not too many customers today, then again it seemed like mostly everyone was busy.' She looked up at the sky. 'On that note, I wonder how Mai and Adaman are doing today… they didn't come to the village.'

Arezu sighed, she would be lying if she said she didn't miss staying at the Diamond Settlement. She had been there for as long as she could remember since losing her parents, so the clan had become something of a family for her. Still, even though she was the warden of the Noble Lilligant, she had wanted to find something she was truly good at. That something turned out to be as a barber, and luckily for her Jubilife's local barber had plenty of teachings to pass down to her as she had been looking for a protege for quite some time.

"Damn I messed up, we gotta go bald now."

The woman snickered as the humorous memory came to her. She still remembered the look of fear on the child's face as he screamed when she said those words, though had felt somewhat bad afterwards and quickly apologized for the joke.

'Speaking of customers… I wonder how he's doing today?'

He was her first ever customer actually, and she felt she owed him a great deal. Her cheeks began to flush as his smiling face coming to mind.

'Darn it… why do I get like this every time I think of him?'

She owed him so much. When she was injured in the forest because her stupid self was determined to fix the frenzied Lilligant problem all on her lonesome, he had came to her rescue. He comforted her, telling her she didn't have to do everything alone and he would help. When she had come to Jubilife to pursue her interests, she was somewhat worried about being an outsider in the village. However, he welcomed her saying how he knew how she felt. He became her first customer, giving him a style of dreads that he enjoyed and then treating her to mochi afterwards. She had begun to feel she had truly belonged there, and they would spend many times talking together afterwards.

'I know he's a bit younger than me but…' Arezu's eyes closed in thought, her face starting to grow as red as her hair. 'He's kind, determined, helpful, and strong. Not everyone has the strength to face down a frenzied Noble Pokémon, but he did it no problem! He's…'

"Oh, Rei! Welcome back!"

Arezu's eyes snapped open as she turned towards her right to see the object of her affections walking down the dirt path with a smile and his Decidueye following behind him. The dark skinned teenager waved and greeted several of the villagers as he walked past them.

'Speak of him and he shall appear.' The young woman's face turned red once again as the teen approached her with a grin, his Pokémon close by his side.

"Oh, what's up Arezu?" Rei stopped, placing his hands in his pockets. "How's business been today?"

"Same as usual, maybe a bit quieter." The warden kicked her legs. "I might need some more ideas for hairstyles to be honest."

"Hmm, if that's the case, I could bring some more Pokémon to you for inspiration."

Arezu smiled at his kindness, flattered. "T-That's alright, I'm already thinking of some ideas to be honest. Besides, I know you've been busy with your work so I wouldn't want to trouble you any further than I have."

"You're not troubling me, it's basically part of my job anyway to help people." Rei started with a grin, sitting down next to her. "I'm not just here to catch Pokémon and learn more about them, I'm helping people with any issues they might have."

'He's way too kind jeez…' Once again, the young woman found herself playing with her hair, her face started to turn slightly red.

Suddenly, her thoughts were cut when she heard Rei release a loud yawn. His mouth closed as his eyes began to droop.

"S-Sorry, been burning the midnight oil a lot lately per say. A lot of people have been coming to me with requests, and the Commander and Captain have been counting on me a lot." Rei explained, rubbing his eyes as his Decidueye looked at him worryingly.

Arezu did as well, pursing her lips. She knew she was also one of those people as not even considering her requests for him to show her Pokémon, she also relied on the resources brought into the village which he played a large part in getting.

'They've really been working him hard lately. I know he always says he doesn't mind, but he's taking a lot of responsibility for a teenager. There has to be something I can do to help…'

But what could she do? She wasn't great at dealing with Pokémon besides Lilligant despite being a Warden and she didn't know the first thing about catching them either.

Actually… there was one thing that one of the older female clan members taught her. Though it was a bit embarrassing.

The warden turned towards Rei, her expression determined and her face red. "Rei."

"Hmm?" The boy and his Pokemon turned towards the girl confused as she held her arms out towards him.

"Scoot closer to me." She said in a somewhat commanding tone as the boy did so, his expression still confused. Once he was close enough, Arezu grabbed his head and placed it down onto her lap, forcing him to lay down.

"A-Arezu?!"

"Shh… just relax." The boy looked up at Arezu's smiling face. "You're always working yourself to the bone and doing so much for everyone else, including me. This… is the least I can do for you."

"I-It's really nothing… I'm just doing my part in the village." Rei stated, a blush of his own forming.

Arezu shook her head with a smile. "You're doing your part and so much more. So just take this reward, it's not like I let anyone lay their head on my lap."

The boy seemed ready to try and continue to argue, but sighed and made himself more comfortable. Arezu could also hear what sounded like chuckling coming from his Decidueye who went into his own relaxing position.

'This is nice…' Arezu thought, looking down to notice Rei had drifted off to sleep. 'He must have been more tired than I thought. Well, it's break time for you Rei!'

Suddenly another thought hit her as she looked around to make sure no one was watching. Gulping, she began to lean down, her eyes on the boy's lips before she closed them, her own lips beginning to approach his.

"And just what are you doing, Warden of Diamond Clan?"

Arezu jumped, though was careful not to wake up the sleeping Rei as she turned back to see two people there with glares on their face.

Pearl Clan Leader Irida was a proud and strong person. That was the first impression many formed when first meeting the young clan leader. She carried herself with pride and always seemed to have her clan's best interests in mind.

However, those that truly knew the girl, knew how insecure she really was.

Irida was forced into the position by tradition due to her mother's death and father's disappearance, and often found herself second guessing her decisions. She was also stubborn, and rarely trusted people outside of her clan and determined to stick to her clan's traditions and customs. She knew some of the older members weren't too fond of her and she had even alienated a few friends along the way as well.

But it was all for the greater good of Hisui she would tell herself. However, lately she had been wondering if she was truly the right person to lead her clan and her doubts were not helped by growing tensions with the Diamond Clan or the rise of frenzied Pokemon.

Then she met a boy around her age by the name of Rei.

She didn't think much of him when she first saw him. He appeared green and was just another outsider she thought like the rest of the Galaxy team. However, Commander Kamado seemed to have an unusual amount of confidence in his potential and said to trust him. Irida thought the man was simply blowing hot air.

She was wrong.

The boy was strong, stronger than even her which he proved in battle. Yet he held a kindness for life in his eyes that she had never seen before. Despite keeping his Pokemon in those pokeballs, he treated them as friends, as family. When helping quell the raging Kleavor, he had asked if there was a way to stop him without putting him down as he wanted to avoid hurting the Lord any more than he needed to even if it meant putting himself at further risk.

And lo and behold, he did. Even though Kleavor had nearly killed him several times throughout the ordeal, he managed to quell his rage and saved it.

Now Irida was truly interested in him.

Then came the issue with Palina and the Growlithe in her care. Irida will admit, she herself was being stubborn with trying to stick to tradition. But they had needed a new lord since the last one lost it's life and Palina was in charge of that. It had led to frequent arguments and had strained the two's friendship.

However, Rei had come along and been a peacemaker. He talked to both of them, trying to help them work things out. When one of the Growlithes evolved and became enraged, he once again risked his life to calm a frenzied Pokémon.

It was then Irida felt an emotion she had never felt before. Her heart fluttered, admiration for the boy growing inside of her. The feeling only grew stronger when she confessed to Rei about her insecurities and how she sometimes wondered if she was truly the right one to lead the Pearl Clan.

"Stop being so hard on yourself. I know our positions are different and I couldn't possibly understand what it means to have a whole clan counting on you for leadership and guidance. But you're only human, you're never going to get everything right. Learn from your mistakes. Lean on your friends when you need them. They're here to support you, listen to them and stop feeling like you need to do everything yourself. I'm also here, I don't know how good my advice would be, but if you need any I'm here. I can tell you truly love Pokémon, so anyone who does is a good person in my book."

That was it, she had fallen for Rei.

His kindness, his strength, his determination…

Everything she had desired in a partner if she ever found the right one.

She had found herself confining in Palina about these feelings after the two's friendship had been mended. The older woman simply smiled and told her to go with her heart, that it would lead her to happiness. Irida was nervous, a feeling she didn't experience too often, but decided to take her friend's advice and made her way to talk to Rei and possibly even confess.

However, when she finally arrived at Jubilife village and found the object of her affections resting on top of the Warden of Lilligant's lap.

"And just what are you doing, Warden of Diamond Clan?"

She wasn't happy.

Akari for as long as she could remember was always involved with Pokémon.

She didn't remember anything about her parents, only they had died shortly after she was born in an accident. Professor Laventon, who was a close friend of theirs, had taken it upon himself to adopt her and raise her himself. It was thanks to that she had grown to appreciate Pokémon as he did, despite how fearsome they could be.

Unfortunately, she didn't have as good of luck raising them.

She was given a Pikachu to be her partner, but the yellow mouse refused to listen to her. She didn't know if it was because he could tell she was nervous or didn't trust humans in general, but it frustrated her. It also didn't help her expeditions in trying to learn about Pokémon and she often found herself injured and having to spend time recovering.

She felt helpless. She felt useless. Despite the professor telling her not to worry about it, she wanted to help him in his goals. To help him document every Pokémon in the Hisui region, but it seemed like a hopeless goal.

Then a boy named Rei fell out of the sky.

When she first met him in Jubilife Village, she was… very unimpressed. He was wearing strange clothes that weren't fit for exploring and had the look of a Magikarp hit by Confusion. However, Professor Laventon was sure he would be key to their goal despite her own reservations.

So far… she thought maybe she should trust the professor more.

Rei was a natural at catching Pokémon. He could catch multiple without them even being able to see him. Not only that, but he proved to be a prodigy at battling as he defeated her multiple times. Someone who had been around Pokémon since she was little.

However, at the same time, it made her begin to feel useless and even depressed to a degree. She had spent most of her life trying to help the professor with his research and this boy around her age came along and surpassed her in a matter of days. Why would the professor need her now?

Then Rei told her something over mochi…

"You know, Professor Laventon seems to really count on you Akari. He told me he's known you since you were small and you've always helped him with his research. I'm a bit jealous actually, heck if it wasn't for you I'd probably still be lost on what to do. Hold your head up, you have strengths you don't even know about and you know far more about Pokémon than I do. If you do that, I'm sure things will fall into place for you. I know you can do it."

That… was exactly what she needed to hear at that moment. She regained her confidence, and her Pikachu began to listen to her fully. She caught more Pokémon, and began to expand her team.

At the same time, she spent more time with Rei when she could and as she did, she found herself slowly falling for him. She thought she was just going to be helping him, but it turned out he was helping her as well.

Her feelings grew and she often found herself thinking about him, looking forward to their daily mochi dinners if just another chance to see and talk with him.

She had decided today was going to be the day. She would confess today.

Then she saw the Diamond Clan Warden, Arezu, holding his head in her lap.

'...I wonder how much trouble I'll get into with Cyllene if I sic Pikachu on her.'

Arezu blinked owlishly as she stared at the two behind her. "So… may I help you two?"

"You can explain why you have Rei's head on top of your lap right now…" Akari growled, pointing at the two.

Arezu raised an eyebrow. "He was tired because you all are overworking him. So I decided to give him a chance to relax for once before he collapsed out on the fields."

Akari gritted her teeth at those words, knowing there was some truth to them. Despite her own improvements, it was clear that Cyllene and Commander Kamado favored Rei for the harder assignments. It was also obvious the boy had been working himself ragged as of late.

Irida's frown deepened. "Then explain why it looked like you were about to kiss him just now."

Now Arezu went silent, her face turning a bright red. She had been caught, she knew it.

That silence was all Irida needed to continue as her hands balled up into fists. "I knew it… you were taking advantage of him!"

"I-I was not!" Arezu denied, her face still quite red.

"Then why were you about to kiss him while he was sleeping?!"

"I was not about to kiss him!"

"Lies, I saw you too!" Akari added, pointing at the redhead. "You talk about us taking advantage of him, and here you are doing the same like a hypocrite."

At this time, Rei's Decidueye had woken up from his nap and was now watching the three human females fight over it's master with amusement.

"At least it's not my fault he's in this state to begin with! That goes for you too Pearl Clan, I know you all have been asking him to take care of frenzied Pokemon of yours." Arezu shot back.

"Tch!" Irida's hands balled up into fists. "Don't act as if the Diamond Clan is innocent either, I know Adaman has been personally asking for his help quite often!"

"That's…!" Arezu went silent, staring at the boy in her lap who somehow had not been awakened from the argument.

"Excuse me ladies…" Professor Laventon's voice sounded as he approached the group. "Have you all seen Rei? He was supposed to-."

His voice was suddenly caught in this throat as three glares were aimed at him. The man gulped as he turned back around. "Actually, I think there's something in my office I need to take care of. If you'll excuse me…"

Akari watched as the professor left before sighing. "You're right, we have been relying on Rei a lot lately. Too much in fact. I'm trying to help by pulling my weight but it feels like it's nothing compared to what he does."

"That's not true Akari." Arezu interrupted, in a soft tone she didn't use often. "Adaman and the rest of the Diamond Clan appreciates the help you've been doing for us as well. I went too far with what I said, I apologize."

"The Pearl Clan does as well…" Irida smiled at the surprised face of Akari. "Sure you're not trying to calm frenzied Lords, but we still appreciate you coming in and helping us gather resources and the like. Besides, I'm not perfect, I still struggle when it comes to making decisions for my clan. We're all learning, don't be too hard on yourself."

"...Thanks. I appreciate hearing that, truly." The teenager sat down, taking a glance at Rei as a blush appeared on her face. "He has a pretty cute sleeping face."

"He does." Irida agreed as she crouched down to take a better look at it. "He looks so peaceful, without a care in the world. It's hard to think this is the same boy who can stare down danger without an ounce of fear on face."

Akari and Arezu both nodded at her statement, the three young women staring at their sleeping object of affections before a sudden growl caught them off guard.

"S-Sorry…" Akari apologized, holding her stomach with a blush. "Didn't have breakfast this morning since I had a lot of tasks to be completed today."

The other girls blinked before giggling. Irida stood up from her position. "How about I grab us all some mochi? We could probably use something to eat after all that excitement."

"Sounds good to me." Arezu said with a smile as Akari simply nodded as she also stood up.

"I'll come with you, you'll probably need some help carrying it back."

"Thanks, I appreciate it." Irida said as she began to walk over to the restaurant with Akari as Arezu watched them with a smile.

If she had looked down, she would have noticed Rei looking up with one eye opened and a smile on his face.

'Seems like we all can get along after all.'

Yeah... I'm having fun with Pokemon Legends lmao. And my love for harems and harem antics and some art I saw gave me the idea for this fic made me write this quick oneshot.

I hope you all enjoyed this and I got the characterizations down pretty well. Still haven't finished the game lol, so might have been a bit too early to write this.
