My dad and grandfather told me stories about a prince who was spoiled, selfish and unkind and turned into a beast as punishment for his selfish behavior by an enchantress. She even left a magic mirror and an enchanted rose for him. I didn't know that a rose can be enchanted.

Grandfather said, "Just because she left an enchanted rose doesn't mean that it's possible to happen." I took his word for it. Sure did. Then my father handed me something that was once his, a sword and my grandfather handed me something that was also his, an amulet.

I got amazed by it. Sure did. Grandfather said, "This amulet was once mine when I was a bit older than you and this sword was once your father's when he was about your age Joanna, but now we want you to have them." I was in awe when I saw them. I didn't know what to say.

Father then said, "You know, exploring the backyard with your dog would help you know things more." I smiled and said, "Sure Dad, I'll give it a go." I got my nine week old black dog named Shadow. It's a boy. It was so nice of my father and grandfather to give me their things.

I began to notice my father's sword and my grandfather's amulet starting to glow. What's going on? Before I know what is going on, a flash of pink light surrounded me and my dog.

This is like a wild ride to me! Will it ever stop? Then my dog and I landed with a thud. I groaned. I got my eyes wide. There are lots of trees.

I realized we're in a forest. Which forest are we in? That's what I like to know. I then said, "Shadow, I have a feeling that we're not at home anymore." We must be in the middle of a forest!
