Summary: The future is fast approaching.

After

Anna and Newt were watching an egg twitch, small noises coming from the Pokémon within. As the shell cracked, a little red tongue could be seen darting out. The egg was primarily green, and slightly yellow and as the seconds passed, the egg broke apart. Splitting in half, a lizard Pokémon tumbled out, rolling out and onto the nest.

"Oh! It's a Treecko!" Anna gasped, excitedly, "Hello little one!"

The newly hatched Tree Gecko Pokémon blinked, then curled up like it was still in its egg, hiding its face in its tails.

"Ah, I can't tell what gender it is until it talks to me, but we got time." She grinned at Newt, who smiled back.

"What will you name it?" Newt asked, and his girlfriend had a mischievous glint in her eyes, her grin sharpened.

"Maybe I'll name it after you, Neeeewwton," she drawled, shrugging, "It'll be your starter! Oh, Arceus, that's an idea!"

Standing up, she went to pick up the Treecko's intended Pokéball, then passed it to Newt.

"We'll give it a few days to name it, then a few more so its mom can take care of it," the Trainer proposed.

"Aren't I a bit too old to be a Pokémon Trainer?" asked the man, but Anna gave a halfhearted flap of a hand.

"It's never too late to take care of Pokémon, Newt. And you have me! I was studying Pokémon breeding and Trainer bonds long before I came to this world. I know quite a lot about taking care of baby Pokémon, Starly brain," Anna moved the Treecko's nest up to a table, letting the Pokémon sleep.

It was one of Silvanus' eggs, the male Sceptile bringing it to his trainer. She accepted, and the egg had been kept among its parents before it started to indicate hatching. With the help of Newt, they were able to create a portable nest for the egg, bringing it into the pair's room.

After the debacle in Paris, Grindelwald allowed Anna and Newt access to their homes to pick up and transport their Pokémon and creatures respectfully to Nurmengard.

The Trainer hired someone to work in her shop, having them create a Contract, which would kill said employee if they tried stealing anything or attempted to contact 'interested' parties. Another was an oath to never reveal that Anna was their employer, and for them to swear to never imply the connection of Anabel Dubois to Anna Ride.

Anna was the happiest she'd been since coming to this world. She was able to freely badger on about how Pokémon grew up and evolved to become stronger, about her travels all over her world, and Newt gave his own stories of stealing away abused creatures for most of his adult life.

They were kindred spirits, people who didn't stay long, always on the move.

It led to Anna coming with Newt on his many excursions, frequently under disguise while avoiding the American, British, and Parisian Ministries.

It appeared that Anna's gift of speaking to Pokémon also applied to the magical creatures constantly around Newt. She apologized to the baby niffler Jolt had stunned, gifting the small creature a handful of Pokédollars.

As months and years passed, Anna still searched the future, occasionally deployed by Grindelwald in battles, where her Dark type Pokémon were frequently called upon due to their immunity against magic.

It resulted in Anna creating two teams of Dark types, primarily Hadriana, Masio, Luna, Hela, Helios, Murphy, Adriana, Liana, Kamen, Maeve, a Tyranitar named Tyson, and a Mandibuzz called Maria.

Even with all the destruction her Pokémon had to bring to further Grindelwald's goals, she comforted herself with the thoughts of a better world for her and her Pokémon. Many lives were claimed by her Pokémon, but she moved forward, only momentarily feeling pity before heading another attack.

Anna only allowed Pokémon that wanted to fight, letting the younger ones live a safe childhood. She rarely killed, typically stunning or incapacitating her opponents. She also never tortured, shying away from most of the other sadistic members of Grindelwald's Acolytes.

She used her compassion to convince people to join, using soft words and charisma to bring the light wizards she encountered to their side. Newt would listen to her, holding her when she cried whenever her Pokémon were heavily injured.

It came to a head when she gave birth to a boy she named after her unknown father at 30, Marin Richard Theseus Scamander. To both her and Newt's delight, Marin was a very curious baby, inheriting his mother's ability to converse with creatures and Pokémon, also expressing a strong magical core.

In a Vision, Anna decided to adopt a young orphan from a muggle orphanage in 1929, before Marin was born. It was the same boy that she Saw in the vision back in 1927, after searching Dumbledore's future.

The child's name was Tom Marvolo Riddle, and the woman decided to blood adopt him, changing the boy's surname to Dubois.

Shortly after, she tracked down Tom's uncle, using Murphy to use Thief and stealing the Peverell ring, which was also held the Resurrection Stone. She kept the stone locked in a magic and muggle proof cabinet in her Gringotts Vault.

It was when the couple realized Tom could talk to snakes, Anna becoming ridiculously excited and allowing him to interact with her snake Pokémon.

When Nagini was unable to turn back into a human, she became Tom's constant companion. Newt taught Tom Light magic and pureblood culture while Anna taught him Light magic, Dark magic, and everything in between.

Since Tom was still technically a British citizen, he got a letter to Hogwarts, where he was sorted to Ravenclaw. He was more content in the nest of Ravens, full of people hungering for knowledge, and less intense on blood status.

In one battle in 1942, Percival Graves, still searching for Anna and Newt had fallen under Rosier's wand. Tina and Queenie were pitted against each other in 1943, the younger sister perishing in that battle.

Anna had cried with Newt and Credence after learning about the casualties, and the woman vowed to see the end of the war through.

Leta Scamander nee Lestrange died after a painful childbirth, leaving Theseus Scamander with twins. Both Anna and Newt attended the funeral under heavy disguise, only getting caught at the end of the wake.

They Apparated immediately after being uncovered, Newt voicing an "I'm sorry," while Anna left a bouquet of Gracidea Flowers.

The Pokémon Trainer and Grindelwald Acolyte hadn't visibly aged as time went on, remembering Xerneas' brand of immortality. She was still intent on creating a safe world for creatures of all kinds, even going as far as to create a preserve in Australia.

Her Pokémon were just as dangerous as the animals that lived there, but she created a Fidelius anyway, hiding it away from wandering eyes.

April 12, 1945

Green eyes opened, dazed from coming out of a Seer's Trance. Anna was meditating in a room, her psychic Pokémon surrounding her. She was turning forty two in a few weeks, Newt already near 50. The end of the wizarding war was near, and she could feel it in her bones.

Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore were going to duel, and that battle will seal history.

She couldn't, wouldn't let her trials and tribulations end with her wasting her life. Dumbledore had to either succeed or die, and it was inevitable.

Newt was in the medical wing, heavily injured after being attacked by a squad of Aurors. It wasn't known if he'd ever wake up, placed under a heavy medical coma.

Tom had opted to stay at Hogwarts for Easter Break, throwing himself into his studies. With Anna's Pokémon, it was hard to concentrate for with every Servine badgering him for mice. She kept him updated on his foster father's condition, but it didn't look promising.

April 19, 1945

Spells and attacks were being thrown across the battlefield that Hogsmeade was turned into, buildings hit by offensive magic. The battle had been going on for about an hour, and it didn't look like it would stop.

The dead were strewn across the grounds, the paths already bombarded with several explosive spells and fire. Some were killed by slicing hexes, others by the killing curse, but the result was the same.

Anna was throwing out commands left and right, with slices of dark power flying through the air. An earthquake by Kamen had broken up the ground, collapsing the entrances of buildings and trapping people inside with the heavy magnitude. Hadriana was busy with spitting fire, a pack of Liepard and Mightyena beaten back with conjured objects.

In the middle of the Square, Grindelwald and Dumbledore were dueling, all sorts of colored lights flying.

"Ariana, psycho cut!" Anna called out, wielding her wand like it was a sword. She dictated attacks while calculating her own spells and their trajectories. Her shields bore the brunt of some curses, strong enough so dozens of spells couldn't crack it. Blood was seeping out of the robes the woman wore, previous attacks hitting in nonvital areas.

In one swoop, she could feel Dumbledore disarm Grindelwald, felt the Elder Wand fly through the air. Just as it reached Dumbledore's fingers, she overpowered a disarming curse that would cripple who it hit while stealing their wand. It flew through the air as a streak of purple, hitting the wizard and throwing him back, the sound of bone breaking muffled by the shouting that drowned it out.

Anna raised her empty hand to catch the wand that left Dumbledore's fingers, grasping the wand's grip fully. Powerful magic rushed through her veins as she shouted, "Stupefy Maximus!"

Red light flew out of the tip of the wand, a red beam splitting so everyone in the area was hit with it, her already overpowered spell adding to the power of the Unbeatable Wand.

The stunned people fell to the ground, their exhausted magical cores falling to the effects of the stupefy. It was quiet, and Anna's Pokémon stopped their assaults. Even Grindelwald and Dumbledore weren't spared from her spell, so they laid where they landed.

The Trainer and new owner of the Elder Wand panted, her already strained core nearly depleted after both curse and spell. She compared her wand to the Death Stick, noting the color differences in the similar dark woods.

"What to do now?" she asked out loud, before recalling all her exhausted and injured Pokémon. Not even their dark typing could protect them from debris, so she opted to heal them as soon as she got home.

The weary witch approached Grindelwald's unconscious body, looking at the aged wizard in new eyes.

"I feel sorry for you, Gellert," she said to him, "It's the end. You're no longer the owner of the first Deathly Hallow."

Anna thought back to the day she joined him officially, remembered how he looked when she crossed the blue flames that only cemented her loyalty to his cause. She joined him because he would've killed her and her Pokémon. There was never a time she truly wanted to join him, but it was necessary.

"You're irredeemable…but I can't kill you. Obliviate," she casted, a slight glow coming from the tip of the Elder Wand as she removed the last few seconds before he was hit by her mass stupefy.

The woman looked at the general area of Dumbledore, a pensive look on her face. She walked over to him, surveying his injured and unconscious body. It was time to forgive.

"Episkey," she casted, fixing the injury her curse inflicted. The cracks of bone healing could be heard, and Anna recasted the Anti-Apparition Wards so Aurors couldn't Apparate into Hogsmeade.

"Ennervate," she then murmured, reviving Dumbledore, who awoke with a jolt.

"What?" was the first word out of his mouth, before stopping at the sight of Grindelwald's Acolyte wielding the Elder Wand.

It had been years since the last time he'd seen the woman who pulled Newt into Grindelwald's side, Anna looking like she barely aged.

"Hello, Mr. Dumbledore," Anna said simply, "Surprised?" She didn't remove the wand but stepped back.

"Why am I still alive, Anna?" Dumbledore asked, contemplating why he was even awake. If she intended to kill him, he'd never know.

"I don't like killing anyone," she shrugged, "Even all these years. I never wanted to be a murderer. I never wanted any of this. But, I couldn't. Not if I didn't want all my Pokémon dead. And the man I love die." Switching the Elder Wand to her other hand, she reached out, helping the other stand.

"What will you do now?" the older wizard asked once he was up, looking with sad eyes at Grindelwald.

"He's just Oblivated. I took out his memory of me getting this thing," Anna twirled the Elder Wand nonchalantly, "I don't want anyone to know who's the current master of the Death Stick. I don't want fame or fortune either." She turned to the destroyed Hogsmeade, and casted a mass reparo towards it, using half of her remaining magic reserves.

"Is Newt still in a coma?" was one of the other questions Dumbledore inquired, and Anna shuddered.

"Yeah. I'm going to try to heal him with this," she lowered her wand, "Albus Dumbledore…Defeater of Grindelwald, the Darkest Wizard in the 20th Century. My son is going to Hogwarts next year. His brother is graduating this year." Anna glanced at the Professor, then walked away, "I'll see you at graduation in a similar guise I wore the first time I met you. Then I want to talk. Goodbye, Professor Dumbledore."

With a wave, Anna apparated, bouncing a few times before appearing in Nurmengard Castle. She made her way to the medical wing of the Castle without stopping. Barging through the doors, she didn't register the mediwitch trying to stop her, the woman raised the Elder Wand, a tool used to spill so much blood.

"Please...please let this be enough."

Anna pushed her hopes and wished fervently, her magic surging to the surface. "Ennervate. Finite Incantatum," she used the rest of her remaining magic to power the spells. The world started turning black as she felt the rest of her strength leaving her, vaguely hearing a shout before Anna fainted.
