"Oliver, are you there?"
Felicity knew it was a bad idea to let him go out there without backup.
"Oliver? Are you okay?"
He wasn't answering. Then she eyed her phone. She should call someone, right? Like Diggle or Sara. But he told her not to. But keeping her word wouldn't mean anything if he's dead.
Without any further hesitation, she grabbed her phone and called Sara.
Sara was bored. Very bored. She didn't know being a vigilante would be so boring. Yes, it has some thrilling moments, but during her downtime when there was nothing else to do, her life was rather ordinary.
And just as she thought it, picking up her Big Belly Burger out of the takeout bag, her phone rang from the counter. She quickly set her burger back in the bag and hurried over to her phone.
It was Felicity. The team didn't go on a mission without her, did they? She picked up the phone. Before she even got to greet her, a panicked Felicity was rambling in her ear.
"Felicity...hey, slow down. What happened?... Why was he out there alone...idiot...okay. Where is he?"
As Felicity was giving the address, Sara pulled out a pen and paper to write it down. "That's the address to Starling City Greenhouse. Why did he go there?...okay, I'll bring him back."
After she hung up, Sara shook her head. "What have you gotten yourself into this time, Oliver?" She quietly said to herself.
Felicity was talking so fast, that she didn't even know half the things that came out of her mouth. Thankfully, Sara kept her in check and she slowed down.
"Oliver went out on the field without any backup. Something went wrong and I lost all communication with him...He told me not to tell anyone where he was going...507 Porter Street...He wanted to catch Dryer on his own I guess...Thank you, Sara."
At this point, she's called over Roy and Diggle. Felicity wasn't even trying to stay calm. She was pacing. Back and forth, back and forth.
"Felicity, it's Oliver. He's gonna be fine." Roy said.
"I know that, it's just...what if he's not? It will be all my fault." She said.
"None of this is your fault. Oliver got himself into this mess. And he IS alive. Sara will bring him back." Diggle reassured her.
She then looked up at the ticking clock. "I sure hope so." She muttered to herself.
About ten minutes later, the door to their base opened. Sara was struggling to help a half-conscious Oliver down the stairs. When they saw this, Roy and Diggle ran up to help.
They helped him onto a cleared table, ready for Oliver's arrival.
Felicity winced at the sight of him all beaten up. "Oliver. Oh my-"
"Felicity, I'm fine." He interrupted.
Felicity raised her voice. "Don't tell me that! I can see the blood! I'm not blind!"
A couple of hours later, Felicity put down a book and walked over to Oliver, who was sitting in a chair. Given his condition, she was surprised he was even awake right now. He should be resting. But then again, it is Oliver, so she's not THAT surprised.
"Hey, how you doing?" She asked.
He gave her a small smile. "As good as I can be given what just happened."
"Are you sure there isn't anything you need?"
Everyone had gone home by now, but Felicity insisted on staying.
"Felicity, I'm fine. You should go home, get some sleep." He said.
"Do you want me to leave?" She asked.
"I mean, not necessarily but-"
"But nothing." She cut him off. "Unless you don't want me here, I'm not going anywhere. It's my fault you're even in this position."
She turned back to get book, but he grabbed her hand.
"This is not your fault, Felicity. This was all on me. Understand?" She nodded and he continued. "If you're gonna stay, we might as well keep each other entertained."
Felicity sat down beside him.
"What do you have in mind?"
"What do you wanna do?" He asked.
"You wanna play Go Fish?" She asked.
"Why not? There's a deck of cards on the shelf over there." He nodded over to the shelf.
She quickly got up and grabbed it. Then she sat back down and started dealing the cards.
After Go Fish, they moved on to War, then Crazy 8's. They eventually put the cards away at around three in the morning and just started talking.
Diggle walked in at 6. A.M. to check on Oliver, and found Felicity asleep in the chair next to him.
He just smiled to himself and pulled a large nearby blanket over her and Oliver.
After that, he stepped away and looked at the sight. He's awaiting the day that these two finally get together.
