Heavens Gift
Summary: Before Lucifer fell from the grace of God, he had taken something ever so precious from his Father. A precious soul was kept in a sacred glass bottle, sealed to protect what was inside. She who the Almighty Father favored was gifted many lives, many times over, and each was more blessed than before. Such a precious soul… and up until his daughter accidentally shattered it, he'd kept it on his desk as a trophy… and now… well, he wondered just how far her gifts would get her in hell.

"I wanna burn in the fire below, I wanna dance with the devil you know, take me to heaven and don't let me go...I am the king of a tragedy, king of a tragedy..."
Awake again...what was I doing? I was enjoying my life for the first time in a long time. My name... was...hm, what was it? I can't recall my name. Oh, but I was beautiful and fierce! A warrior. Looking out of my bottle, I tried to find a semblance of familiarity, but there was nothing that I recognized. Same bottle, different room. I got exactly what I wanted. Opening my eyes, I was no longer in Father's room. Oh, but something had called out to my soul; what was it? A voice? A song...
"Hello, little soul."
"...who are you?" Time turned her eyes to the shadows, not able to make out a figure or face in the darkness. Yet, she was sure she recognized the voice. The same voice that had pulled on her soul. She'd been clinging to her life on earth. She didn't wish to return to this void of emptiness. That was what she'd been thinking, only... this wasn't the place she'd feared.
"I am...well, you can call me Your Highness."
"Another King on High? Thanks...but no."
"No? Does that not satisfy you?" Stepping out from the shadows, a blindingly sinister smile appeared before a lean figure appeared. The man before her opened his eyes, and she watched glowing yellow eyes lock onto her like she were his prey.
Time pushed herself back, but where could she escape within this bottle. There was no escape from her prison. "Lucifer, where is this place? Why are we here?"
"This place? Don't you like it? I thought that it had a certain type of charm. Something...deliciously vile."
She shook her head, glowing feebly in defense. He grew closer to her orb and lifted it, peering into her glass world with a wicked grin. "You are a gift, little bird. I plan to give you as a present to my beloved Lilith. I suggest you do your absolute best not to displease her." Turning the bottle upside down, he chuckled as she tumbled about in the orb. Moving slender fingers around the top, he pulled, but to no avail. "How do you open this?"
Cringing as she tried to steady herself in her moving prison, Time fumbled and curled in on herself. "S-stop it! Please stop!"
Lucifer stilled his hand, still grinning widely at the soul. "Is there a problem, dear?"
"...I can't leave." She hissed out irritably, "Father has made sure of that. This is my punishment, for thinking I could ever walk freely among his favored creations."
Something she said must have resonated with Lucifer as he carefully turned the orb before sitting it down on the desk he'd lifted it from. Moving to the chair in front of the desk, he dropped down and lost his smile. Kicking his feet up onto the desk, Lucifer closed his eyes. "What a bastard. He doesn't give one flying fuck about his children."
Time's eyes widened, "what are you saying!?"
"Like you don't agree?" Lucifer smirked, "You were his precious first daughter, and here you are, sealed within a holy shrine of energy, never to taste freedom. For the want to be free, you were imprisoned."
Not saying anything, Time drew her knees into her chest. "How long until my next cycle? Will I ever be reborn again if I'm...here?"
"You've been down here for a good fifty years already...time sure does fly."
'Fifty years?!' Peering around at the endless darkness, she sighed, "a new prison then."
"Oh, don't be such a downer. As far as the company goes, I can't be any worse than that stick in the mud," lifting his finger and pointing up above.
Since this conversation started, Time took in the Angel before her for the first time. "Lucifer... where are your wings? Why do you hide them?"
He frowned, turning his eyes to a closed window across from them. Raising his hand, a burst of energy threw the window open, and a crimson light flooded the room. He stared out at the crimson red sky and let a hauntingly dangerous laugh slip past his lips. "My wings..." standing, he revealed tattered, torn, and broken wings.
They looked to be trying to heal, but who knew how long that could take. Angels were thought to be impervious to injury, and yet... here this one stood, tossed aside. Her hand reached out as if she wished to touch his injuries, and yet her hands met the orb she'd grown so accustomed to. After all, it was the only thing that she could ever touch. Closing her eyes, Time whispered a broken apology, feeling pity for this Fallen Angel.
Enraged, Lucifer stormed from his office. Time was left to bathe in the light of the crimson sun that bled in through the window. Her shimmering pink orb hummed in deference to the world surrounding its Holy Energy and Time... Time cried. Tearful for her new prison. Tearful for her new warden. Closing her eyes, she fell into a troubled slumber. Not a familiar cycle of reincarnation, no. This was just exhaustion breaking down a soul and bringing a broken heart to its knees. Here, she would become acquainted with its overbearing presence. The weight of helplessness and defeat.
Years had come and gone. I dare not say that I became used to the company of Lucifer and his beloved wife, Lilith. I could hardly bring myself to accept just how I openly sought their conversations, attention, and company. How Father could bring me into hiding, and his dismissed children could pull me from the same darkened corners of my mind. There was nothing good here. Where we learned that only those who'd been forsaken ended up. I watched from my orb as souls came from above ad fell, broken, to the depths of fire and despair. I admit now how protected I was. How Father had shielded me from the sins that could so easily tempt me to this...Hell.
"Don't touch her!" Lucifer glowered dangerously at the demon who was cleaning his office. His energy surrounded the orb in the demon's hand and pulled it free from the disgusting hands of the vermin that he allowed to clean the scum off the soles of his shoes. "Finish cleaning, and never touch this again. Else I'll see that your head is hung above my mantle."
The demon coward before glancing to the spot above the mantle.
Lilith smiled charmingly from the shadows of the office as she warmed her way into Lucifer's arms. Walking side by side with her love until she found them in the safe confines of their bedroom. "She's been asleep for such a long time. Are you sure she's not dead?"
Lucifer laughed, "my darling, Time is not slipping. She's hibernating, if you will."
"What is she, a rabbit?" Quirking a brow as her husband placed the orb atop a shelf in their room. When he turned around, he gave her his undivided attention. "I do so love rabbits. They're so cute, fluffy, and so easily can you rip their heads from their small bodies."
"Then it's a good thing that she is no rabbit. My love, do not pay her any attention. I am here, you are here, and looking sinfully delightful, might I add. How about you and I have some fun, and perhaps we can pick this conversation up again at a later date. We have all of eternity to discuss the soul entrapped within that orb. Right now, I don't care to speak of her. Best to put my mouth to better use?"
"Then what are you waiting for?" Lilith lifted her heel to his chest; her dress sensually slipped away from her pale long pale leg. "Put your mouth to better use, and...that tongue..." a wicked smile graced her lips as her husband lay aside his cane and tossed his hat away. Tonight was going to be ever so enjoyable. She could already taste it!
