JENNIE

I opened my eyes and saw a beautiful pair of blue-colored eyes staring back at me. "Good morning," Lisa said in a sexy morning voice that had me squirming a little.

I smiled, leaned forward, kissing her lips, and hummed, "Good morning." I draped my arm over her body and slithered my way closer to her. "I love waking up, seeing you are looking at me, smiling, with you also still here lying in bed with me."

"Me too," she smiled. "I love it more than you know."

"I always hated it when you left me at night, in the middle of the night, or before I awoke in the mornings."

Her arm tightened around me, kissed my lips, then pressed her forehead to mind. "I always hated it too. And I dreaded that drive back to my place. But that won't be happening anymore."

I smiled and whispered, "Promise?"

"I promise."

Hearing that promise from her had me smiling bigger.

While looking at Lisa, my stomach was feeling funny, and I wasn't sure if it was a feeling of hunger or if I was about to be sick; and swallowed, trying to refrain myself from getting sick. I reached my hand to her lower lip and using my thumb, I caressed it while asking, "Are you hungry at all?"

She chuckled. "I'm always hungry for you."

"Not for me," I giggled, playfully shoving her. "I meant for food. As in, are you hungry for breakfast?"

"Again, I'm always hungry for breakfast. Meaning you," Lisa devilishly smirked, then hung out her tongue, flicking it up and down fast.

I laughed, playfully shoved her, then rolled out of bed.

"Nevermind. I'll start making you breakfast." Lisa bellowed a laugh as I stood off the bed and reached for my clothes.

As I bent over to put on my shorts, she playfully smacked my ass.

"Yes, Honey. I'm starving."

"Hey," I giggled, quickly pulling up my shorts. "I'll be in the kitchen making your breakfast," I said, putting on my shirt as I headed to the kitchen. I was still a bit nervous about making eggs, but knowing the expiration date was nearing, and I needed to get rid of the eggs, I decided to make Lisa French toast.

As I was preparing breakfast, I heard Lisa talking to someone in the other room. I stopped whipping the eggs and tilted my head, extending my ear and trying to listen to what she was saying. Then my heart and stomach dropped after overhearing her say, 'yeah, I love you too.' I set the bowl on the counter, then bent down, opened the cupboard, removed the griddle, then slammed the door as I stood. Next, I opened a drawer and angrily dug through it, looking for my spatula, then hit the drawer shut after finding the spatula I needed.

Lisa walked up behind me, rested her hands on my shoulders, then leaned over, trying to get me to look at her; when I refused, she slowly spun me around. "Why on earth are you slamming doors and drawers? What's wrong?"

I shoved her off and turned around after feeling tears flooding my eyes.

"Jennie? What's wrong?"

I shook my head, breathed in deep, and closed my eyes, taking some deep breaths to calm myself.

"Hey. Talk to me."

I wiped the tears away from my cheeks and said, "Who were you saying I love you too?"

Her hands lowered from me, then she softly chuckled. "I was talking to my mother." Her hands then rested on either side my hips and turned me to face her. She leaned forward, then lowered her lips to mine. "My parents would like to meet you."

"Oh," I said, feeling stupid.

"I called Al Russo last night after I left my parents' place and set up dinner reservations for tonight. I called her to make sure they were okay with going there."

"Oh my. Do I feel stupid..."

She cupped either side of my face and smiled. "It's okay. We'll just say it's the pregnancy hormones kicking in," she chuckled, then pressed her lips to mine, passionately kissing me and erasing every wrong thought I was thinking and feeling.

"I do like Italian," I quietly said as I parted from her lips.

The corners of her lips raised into a beautiful smile, and she said, "I know. That's why I chose that place."

"I've never been there and have always wanted to see how good their food is."

She wrapped her arms around me and tightly held me as I rested my head against her chest. "I think you should wear that dress you wore for the convention tonight. That dress was smoking hot on you, and I'd like to show you off to my parents proudly."

My eyes widened. Lisa's parents already know about me?

"Wait, a minute. How long have your parents known about me?"

"Last night, I explained to them my situation with Kendal; then I talked to them about you and mentioned you were pregnant," she added.

Great...

"They probably think I'm a home-wrecker," I muttered, turning around. I rested my hands on the counter and lowered my head. "They must have wondered why I stayed and didn't tell you to go away after finding out you're married. Which makes me feel ashamed, and I'm not so sure I'm ready to meet them just yet."

"They don't think that at all," she assured. "And believe it or not, but my mother is happy about me leaving Kendal. And as for my father, he wants the best for me and would like to see me happy, which I am. My parents' are reasonable people, and I know you'll love them."

I felt stupid for jumping to conclusions as fast as I did and reached for the bowl with the eggs I whipped. I picked up the bowl and stared at it while thinking how stupid I looked and sounded. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted the way I did, and I'm fine with having dinner with your parents. It's that I feel so many emotions running through me, and I didn't mean to get upset or jump to conclusions the way I did. I think everything that has gone on in the last couple of weeks has caught up to me, and the more I think about the situation with Kendal I'm not so sure I can go back and work for her, either."

"You know where I stand on that, and I still think you shouldn't go back."

I plugged in the griddle, opened the bag of bread and pulled out some slices, and added one of the bread slices into the egg batter, soaking it. "The problem I'm having is, I need the money now more than ever, and as independent as I am, I refuse to rely on you for any help."

"That's my child too. It would be best if you remember, you didn't get pregnant on your own. And the one thing I need to do is, take care of my responsibilities. Which means making sure you and our baby are well taken care of," she said with saddened eyes, and in a tone that expressed how hurt she was, with me saying I didn't want her help.

I didn't want to argue with her, and I also didn't want to start the day off with us being upset with each other, especially since I'll be meeting her parents later. I looked over to the table and pointed. "I don't want to fight with you. So why don't you sit, relax, and let me finish making you breakfast."

Lisa left to run around and do some errands. The food didn't sit right in my stomach, so I went and laid down on the bed to take a nap and to try to settle my stomach. I know the food didn't agree with me, but the thought of meeting Lisa's parents, I think, is what made my stomach feel sicker. Lisa said they know I'm not the one to blame for her leaving Kendal, but I still feel I am. And suppose they will think the same. Had we not met, I'm sure this divorce she wants now would not be happening. And I'm sure they believe the same as me.

I slept for a couple of hours, and after I awoke, I expected to see Lisa lying beside me, watching me, and when I didn't see her where I wanted her to be, I puffed out my bottom lip. I know she said she had some running around to do, and she would be awhile, but I still felt saddened. I did, however, feel much better after my nap and headed to take a shower. Afterward, I dug through my closet, looking for the dress Lisa wanted me to wear, and when I couldn't find it, I got worried, then remembered I never put it away after we got back from her place up north.

I hurried to the laundry room, grabbed it off the hanger, and slipped it over me as I walked back to the bathroom to finish getting ready. After putting on my makeup, I looked at my hair and thought about what to do differently. A smile formed when I thought of a look Lisa had never seen. Instead of leaving my long hair down, I get my curling iron, and I semi curly my hair. Just as I finished lining my lips with lip gloss, I heard Lisa enter the apartment. I stepped out of the bathroom, and she was rushing towards me. "I'm sorry, it took longer than I expected it would," Lisa said, walking fast past me and into the bedroom. The second she entered the bedroom, she stopped, turned around, then stared at me. Her head shook, her eyes closed and opened, and then she shook her head again.

"Is there something the matter?"

She slowly moved her head from side to side, still with her eyes on me.

"Are you sure?" I asked when she said nothing.

"You look smoking fucking hot. What did you do?"

"I didn't do anything." I smiled. "All I did was that I changed the style of my hair."

Her head shook again; she rubbed her mouth, and then her mouth dropped as she walked to me, extending out her arms. As she approached, her hands rested on my hips, and she looked me up and down. "Wow... You look amazingly stunning," she said in awe. "Maybe I should call Al Russo and cancel or dinner reservations tonight. And I should also call my parents and tell them tonight isn't a good night."

"Why?"

"Because my dick is fucking hard as a rock right now, and there's no way I can go there like that."

I laughed. "Go shower and get ready, or we're going to be late."

"We will be late because I need my swelling to go down."

"Take a cold shower then," I demanded, pushing her into the bathroom.

"Damn," she groaned. "You're in big, big trouble after we get home. Because my cock's swelling isn't going to go down at all tonight. Not with the way you look tonight and having to sit next to you at dinner? You'll be lucky if I don't lay you on the table in front of everyone and have my way with you right then and there."

I grabbed the doorknob and smiled widely. "Take an extra cold shower then," I insisted as I closed the door.

We were minutes away from the restaurant, and suddenly I felt sick. I wasn't sure if it was my nerves or the lunch I had earlier that was about to come out and buzzed the window down a little to get some fresh air.

Lisa reached for my hand and brought it up to her lips, softly kissing the top of my hand. "Relax."

"I am," I lied.

"No, you're not," she chuckled. "I can hear it in the way you're breathing. You're nervous."

"I guess I am," I quietly admitted.

"You don't have to be. My parents are cool, and they understand how I've been feeling."

"I know. You said that. But I still feel out of place. You know? I'm meeting your parents who had never heard about me until the other day, and I'm pregnant by a married woman. It all just seems improper to me."

Her hand gripped mine tighter and lowered it to her lap.

"Jennie trust me. Everything will be okay. They don't think any different of you. I'm the one they should be disappointed with. Which my father was with me at first. But after I explained everything to my parents, my father changed his tune. With my mother also saying, she never liked the bitch, anyway," she snickered as she pulled into the parking lot.

Lisa parked her car, shut off the engine, then turned to me. She leaned closer to me and wiggled her finger. I leaned forward, then she cupped the back of my head and pressed her lips on mine. "I can assure you; everything will be alright. Just relax and be yourself."

Just be me. I can do this...

As we walked towards the restaurant, Lisa lowered her hand to the small of my back, and then she kissed my cheek. "By the way. You smell fucking wonderful. I can't wait to eat you later."

I didn't say a word. But that remark did make me giggle.

After checking in, the waitress informed us our party was already seated at the table; then she had us follow her back to where we needed to be. As we got to the table, her parents stood, smiling. Lisa reached across and shook her father's hand, then she turned to her mother and hugged her. She broke their embrace, then rested her hand on my back. "Mom, Dad, this is Jennie. Jennie, these are my parents, Marco and Chittip."

I smiled, shook their hands, and said, "It's nice to meet you."

"Likewise," Lisa's mother happily said while grinning ear to ear.

Lisa pulled out a chair next to her mother, had me sit, then pushed me closer to the table. When the waiter came over to take our drink order, Lisa's father ordered a couple of bottles of their best red wine for the table, and I ordered water with lemon.

During the meal, Lisa did most of the talking as her parents eyed me most of the time. They still smiled, but it caused me to feel uneasy and unsure of what they thought of me. Then her mom interrupted Lisa and looked at me. "So, Jennie. What is it that you do for a living?"

My eyes quickly rolled to Lisa, then back to her mom, and I swallowed hard. Shit. Now they'll really think I knew Lisa was married to Kendal the entire time we've been together.

"I'm a massage therapist and a health and wellness instructor."

Lisa chuckled. "It's kind of ironic. Jennie actually works for Kendal."

Feeling embarrassed, I lowered my head when I felt my cheeks heat. And knowing they turned red.

"Oh?"

"And how did you two meet again?" Marco asked.

I looked up and at Lisa's father. "We met at a Basketball game, actually. Our team scored, Lisa excitedly jumped, then her soda spilled all over me."

"Two weekends ago is when we found out about each other. Meaning I found out Jennie worked for Kendal, and well, Jennie found out I was married to Kendal," she sighed.

"And this entire time, you both knew nothing?" Lisa's mother asked, surprised.

Both Lisa and I shook our heads.

"Kendal never allowed anyone's spouses or significant others to come to the clinic. She has stringent rules," I sighed.

The table got silent, and Lisa reached her hand over and rested it on my lap, rubbing it.

"Kendal is a bitch. She always has been," Lisa's mother exclaimed, making us all laugh, and what was a quiet table, not as quiet, anymore. Aunt Chittip broke the ice with me, which had me feeling much more relaxed. Then she looked at me, rested her hand over mine, and smiled. "Welcome to the family, and I cannot wait to meet that grandchild of mine. With Lisa's handsome looks and your beautiful features, I know that child you and Lisa created is blessed with pure beauty."

Lisa leaned to my ear and whispered, "I told you they would like you, and not to worry."

We sat at the table talking for the longest time. After listening to Lisa's parents speak about Kendal. And from knowing how Kendal is from working for her, now I understand why Lisa was unhappy and why she strayed. It doesn't make it right, but it shows how much of a bitch Kendal truly is. And how much everyone despises her.

I noticed Lisa looking at her phone out of the corner of my eye, texting someone with a scowled look on her face. With the look on her face and how fast her fingers were texting, it meant he was talking to Kendal.

Lisa's parents were ready to leave, and as we headed out, Aunt Chittip pulled Lisa to the side, and I continued walking and talking with Uncle Marco. Once we got outside, he extended his hand towards me. "It was nice to meet you," he smiled, then leaned closer and spoke quietly, "You seem like a good-hearted person. Don't tell her I said this. But I like you. I know my daughter can be an idiot and will make bad choices. But she's a good girl and means well. Take good care of her," he winked.

Aunt Chittip walked over to Uncle Marco and me and opened her arms, wanting a hug. As we hugged, she said, "It was nice meeting you." As she was releasing her arms, she whispered in my ear, "You're a beautiful girl. My daughter was lucky to have met you, and I hope you two work out."

On our way home, Lisa was quiet. I looked over at her and asked, "Who were you arguing with earlier?"

"Do you even have to ask?" She groaned.

I shook my head and sighed while looking away from her and out the window, keeping my eye on the street lights as we passed them. "No."

"Sorry. I don't mean to take it out on you. Kendal has me feeling so fucking mad right now," she groaned. Then she poked me. "Hey," she quietly said. "At least my parents liked you."

I turned my head her way and smiled after seeing her smiling at me. "I know. I liked them too."

We finally get to my apartment, and as we got to my door, I noticed a piece of paper sticking out from underneath the door.

I picked it up, looked to see what it was, then read what it said.

BE CAREFUL. THERE WAS A CRAZY WOMAN WITH BROWN HAIR SHE WAS LOOKING FOR YOU. AND SHE WAS ON RAMPAGE. ONE HELL OF RAMPAGE. SHE WAS YELLING AND BANGING ON YOUR DOOR. AND SHE WAS ALSO KICKING AND PUNCHING THE WALLS AS SHE WALKED THROUGH THE HALLWAY. SO PLEASE. BE ON LOOKOUT FOR HER.

I handed Lisa the letter and snapped, "What the fuck?"

"That's it. I'm taking you to those homes I wanted you to see. I can't have you harassed by Kendal any longer," Lisa growled, opening the door.

I walked in, then stopped and lowered my face in my hands.

"I can't do this anymore."

Lisa took me in her arms and sighed. "I'll put a stop to this. I promise."
