LISA

I looked at the slashed tires as I walked around my car. I couldn't believe it, yet, I could. After Kendal's phone call earlier, and how off she sounded, I knew instantly, this was her work of art.

"Do you think Kendal did this?"

"Who else could it have been? Look at the area we're in. I just can't figure out how she could have found me. With all the hotels around, and being further outside of town, I thought she could never find us."

To be sure it was Kendal, I spun around, looking at the other vehicles. Not one car had a work of art like mine did. That meant one thing. It was definitely Kendal. "That's it. I've had enough of her shit," I groaned, turning back to face Jennie. "After I call for a tow and have new tires put on, would you be upset if I dropped you off at a friend's? I'd like to visit Kendal."

The look on Jennie's face told me she didn't like the idea. She looked at the car beside us and crossed her arms along her chest. "I think you should call the police. You can't let her get away with this."

"I know I should call the cops, but I would like to visit her first. I'll take pictures, and then I will talk to whoever's in charge of the hotel and inform them of what happened. With a place like this, I'm sure they have camera's in the parking lot. I would like to see what she has to say first before I make that phone call."

She sadly sighed, "I'll see if Nayeon can pick me up. My car is at her place, anyway."

I pulled her to me, then gently pressed my lips to hers. "Thanks, Hun. I know this wasn't what I planned for us today, but I promise after I take care of this shit with Kendal, I'll take you house hunting."

She pouted, "I still think you should just call the police and let them handle this. This is what she wants. She's looking for attention, and by you going to see her, gives her just what she wants."

Jennie is right, but I feel this is something I need to try first. I lowered my forehead to hers and looked her in the eyes. "I know, but I have to put a stop to this, somehow. And I'd like to do it without involving the police."

"Okay," she sighed. "Promise me you'll be careful. If Kendal can continue wrecking your car, there's no telling what she'll do next."

"I promise," I said with an assuring smile.

Jennie called Nayeon, asking if she would pick her up. And after Nayeon arrived and Jennie got in Nayeon's car, I stuck my head inside. "Please keep her safe until I can pick her up."

"I will," Nayeon said.

I looked back at Jennie and caressed her cheek with the back of my finger. "I'll call you when I'm on my way."

My fingers raked through my hair, and profoundly exhaling all the air, I held in as I watched Nayeon and Jennie drive away, knowing that dealing with Kendal wasn't going to be any fun. While sitting in the lobby of the auto repair shop, I tried calling Kendal. Only, she never answered. And the more I repeatedly called her, with her not responding, the angrier I was becoming.

A wicked smile crossed my face when the next thought about confronting Kendal crossed my mind. Thinking the reason she isn't answering is that she's at work. As adamant as Kendal is about me not showing up at her job, that's precisely where I'm going next. And I couldn't care less if she gets pissed.

I was trying to make this divorce friendly, easy, and quick by giving her everything, along with a nice payout. But now that it's not going the way I'd like, it makes me wonder if I should quit being so nice and give her nothing.

Should I sell the house and not give her a nice payout?

Decisions, decisions.

The mechanic finally finished with my car, and after paying the bill, I placed the receipt inside my bag next to the divorce paperwork. This is one bill I'm going to make Kendal pay, and if she tries fighting it, I'll present to the judge all the evidence I'll soon discover after I leave the repair shop and after my talk with Kendal.

The serviceman handed me my keys, and I was out of the shop like a bolt of lightning striking. I hurried to my car and sped off, not even thinking about the other drivers on the road. All I wanted was to get to Kendal's work and to piss her off I was there. I pulled up outside the doors of the clinic, opened my door fast, and hurried out. I was on a mission, and as I stormed my angry ass into the building, the young girl behind the counter, Katie, looked up, then her eyes widened when she saw it was me storming in.

"Where is Kendal?" I demandingly asked.

"I believe she's in her office," she nervously said. I saw her eyes roll side to side, and then she leaned forward, whispering, "She's going to be pissed that you're here."

With my eyes locked with hers, I groaned. "Does it look like I give a shit?"

She swallowed hard, and then she slowly moved her head from side to side. "No. Do you even know where her office is? Or would you like me to go get her?"

I grinned. "Yes. I. Do. And no, I don't. I'd like to surprise her ass like she surprised mine this morning."

I pushed away from the counter, and with long quick strides, I headed to Kendal's office; and without knocking, I opened the door, stepped in, and slammed the door behind me.

Not that she has one. But Kendal's hand quickly covered her heart as she jumped. She looked up from her desk and gasped, "Lisa! What are you doing here?"

With two long steps, I was at her desk. I gripped my hips, leaned forward, and growled. "You know damn fucking well why I'm here."

She sat straight, crossed her legs, and shook her hair behind her shoulders, calmly saying, "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Liar..."

She uncrossed her legs, and hurriedly pushed herself off her chair, and walked around the desk, expecting her to punch me. I turned as she walked to me, but when she reached for my shirt, I took one step back away from her. She stepped closer, reached for my shirt again, and started adjusting it. "You're here to tell me the divorce is off, aren't you?" She calmly asked.

My hands quickly grabbed hers, stopping her from adjusting my shirt then I shoved her off. "You're unbelievable!"

Her arms reached for me, then she side smiled. "You don't want this, Lisa. And neither do I. We love each other very much. I know we can work this out as it's just a little hiccup in our marriage."

I removed her hands from me again and shoved her down into the empty chair, pointing. "This is no hiccup, Kendal. We are over. Done. Finished. There is no fucking us. There never was. So get off your high horse and accept the fact we will never be a thing anymore. Sign. The. Fucking. Papers. Kendal"

She smiled and tilted her head to the side as if she listened to nothing I just said. "No."

"Damn it, Kendal! Sign the fucking papers! You can't force me to stay, and you can't force me to love you."

"You're in denial, Lisa. You know you love me."

I mockingly laughed. Is she for real? "I'm in denial? You're the one who's fucking in denial... did a screw come loose in that head of yours? Because that's exactly what you're showing me. Maybe not one screw is loose, but multiple fucking screws are loose."

"Are you done here? Because I have to get back to work."

"No. We are NOT done here. I know you slashed my tires, Kendal... I don't know how you found me. And I don't care anymore. All I know is that the repair bill is yours, and you're paying me back for it..."

Kendal just stared at me with a smile. Which was pissing me off more, especially since she wasn't saying a word. "Stay the fuck away from Jennie and me," I yelled. Seeing the smirk on Kendal's face, and with her not saying a word back, had me wondering if she was losing it. Or if she was just letting everything I was saying go in one ear and out the other. "Are you even fucking listening to anything I'm saying to you?"

Her smirk got bigger.

"And wipe that ugly ass fucking smirk off your face, you crazy bitch!" I took a deep breath, then looked up. I had to calm myself before I did something I would regret.

She jumped from her seat, coming at me with her arms raised in the air. Her arms wrapped around me, held me firm. "I love you, Lisa" she said, pressing her lips hard to mine. I pushed her away from me. Then, with my hands on her shoulders, I forced her to sit back in the chair.

"You need some serious, fucking help. If you do not stop harassing or stalking Jennie and me, I will have you committed to the institution. I mean it... And to think I was willing to give you everything so you would leave without a fight. Geeez, was I fucking wrong... and because of how you're acting, you're going to force me to do something I didn't want to do, and that was to give you nothing..." I said, walking to the door.

"Please, don't do this, Lisa," she cried out. "We can work this out. I know it."

I laughed as I turned the doorknob. "There is nothing to work out. We're over. So, please, stay far away from us. I'm in love with Jennie, not you."

I slammed the door as I left, and as I stormed down the hallway, it took everything within me to not punch a wall. I stepped around the corner and saw Katie nervously looking at me. "Good luck with that bitch," I snapped as I walked past her.

A semi smile formed on her face as she slowly waved at me, "Thanks."

Before I picked up Jennie I stopped at the hotel to talk with management. An older gentleman in a suit and tie extended his hand to me as he approached. "Hello, Lisa. I'm Mr. Anderson, the owner of the hotel. I understand you needed to talk to me about an incident that happened earlier in our parking lot?"

"Yes. I was curious if you have surveillance of the parking lot. And if you do, I was hoping you can take a look at the tapes from last night around seven until about noon today."

"Can I ask why?"

"Because. All four tires of my car were slashed. I have a strong feeling of who did it, and I'd like to be sure of who it was before I file a police report."

A look of concern crossed the older man's face. "We have cameras all over the hotel. Inside and outside. So that'll be no problem at all. However, it will take some time to view."

That's a relief. "I understand it will take time." I removed my wallet from my back pocket, pulled out my business card, then wrote my cellphone number on the back of it before handing it to him.

"How long are you staying at the hotel?" He asked as he took the card from my hand.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I thought my pregnant girlfriend and I would be safe staying here, but after what happened with my car, now I'm not so sure. It's nothing against your hotel. I just have a crazy ex causing problems for us. That's why I need to be sure of who it was that slashed my tires."

"I can assure you, and your girlfriend will be safe here. What room are you staying in?"

"Room 523"

He smiled. "Our most excellent suite."

After giving him all the information he needed, I headed back out. And as I walked to my car, I heard a girl yelling, "Hey! You never showed up last night!"

I turned around, then saw the young blonde from the bar, and closed my eyes sighing, great...

"No, I didn't, did I?"

I turned back around and started walking to my car before she tried anything else with me. She then yelled, "That's too bad. We could have had a great night together."

I stopped and quickly turned around. "Let's get something straight. I am not interested in you. I already have a girlfriend who owns my heart, with a little one on the way. So, please. Go out and find someone else. Possibly someone much closer to your age..."

She frowned.

I smiled.

"I'm glad to see that you're actually wearing clothes today." I started walking away, then I stopped and turned back around. "Can I give you a little advice? Some good advice?"

"What kind of advice?" She scowled.

"There's one thing you need to know. And that is, you don't need to have your tits hanging out just to find a guy or woman. Sure, men love seeing tits don't get me wrong. But the way you were dressed last night, and how you were showing off your tits, shows a man/woman one thing. That you're a slut. Have a great day!"

Her facial expression? Priceless.

I grinned and chuckled. And as I started walking, she yelled, "You're a fucking jerk!"

I laughed and extended my arm into the air, waving.

Jennie excitedly got in my car, holding a stack of papers. "What are those?"

"Houses I found," she said, handing them to me. "I know we don't have time to look at them today, but I was hoping this week you would take me to see them. As well as the homes you wanted me to see, of course."

I nodded while flipping through the papers. "That's fine. We can take a look at these too. I just want you to be happy." I smiled, handing them back to her. "We'll go take a drive to my office, and I'll get some appointments set up."

"Were you able to see Kendal?"

I nodded and sighed, "Yes. But I'm not so sure Kendal got the hint. That woman has completely lost it, and I'm beginning to believe there is something seriously wrong with her. She's crazy!"

"Did she admit to slashing your tires?"

I shook my head while my eyes remained on the road. "No, she didn't. But she also didn't deny it, either." I said, quickly looking at Jennie, then back to the road. "I know it was her, though. I could tell by the way she was acting. And now I have the hotel searching the surveillance tapes."

"What do we do now?"

"We wait. Once I get the evidence I need, I'll file a police report. I mentioned to Kendal that if her stalking and harassment don't stop, I would have her committed. I also informed her that I might change my mind on the assets I was freely willing to hand over to her. That I would sell the house, and there will be no huge payday for her."

"And that just might set her off even more."

"I fucking hope not," I muttered.

While nearing my office, I noticed a couple of police cars with their lights flashing parked outside the building. "Great. I hope they're not there for me."

"Why would they be? Did you do something to Kendal?"

I laughed and furrowed my brows. "No. But I have a gut feeling they're there to see me."

And I was mostly right.

As we entered the office, I saw a distraught Sorn talking with a couple of officers.

"What the hell is going on?"

An officer turned around, then walked towards me. "Are you Lisa Manoban?"

"Yes, I am. What can I help you with?"

"Follow me. I'd like to show you something."

Jennie and I followed the officer to my office, and as we entered, my stomach sunk, and my hands instantly slapped to my face. Jennie's hand rested on my shoulder and whispered, "Kendal?"

My office was trashed. There were holes in the walls. My filing cabinet was knocked over. There were files and papers scattered all over the room. The top of my desk was cleared entirely off. I also noticed every picture I had on the wall was off and was on the ground, with shattered glass scattered everywhere. I reached up and pulled on my hair, yelling, "That fucking bitch!"

"Do you know who did this?" The officer asked.

I felt my face turn red and snapped, "Yes. I know exactly who fucking did this. To my office as well as my car. With all four of my tires slashed this morning, too."

The officer looked from me to the notepad he was holding in his hand, and with his pen pressed to the paper, he asked, "Who do you think it was?"

"Kendal Manoban. My soon-to-be ex-wife."

After giving him all the information he wanted to know, I made copies of the expenses that cost me earlier, the tow and the car repair bill, then handed it to him. "Would you like to press charges?" The officer asked.

I thought for a moment. Then Jennie wrapped her arm around me and looked up. She was giving me a look, that one look I knew well. And that was the look of I better press charges. I looked away from her and to the officer. "Yes. I want to press charges for everything."

I entwined my fingers into Jennie's and walked with her over to Sorn. "Were you here when Kendal did this?"

"No, I wasn't. But I had a feeling something was wrong when I first got here. There was a post-it note on my computer screen. At first, I didn't understand what it meant. And it wasn't until later; I figured out what the note meant. I opened the door to your office to place some files and paperwork on your desk and saw it trashed. That's when the note hit me, and I immediately called the police."

"What did the note say? Where is it?" I asked.

"The police have the note. And it said something along the lines of; watch yourself, you're next."
