A/N: Heyo! Second chappy, going over origin stuff, meh. Feeling a campfire mood right now, so light a fire, get some smores, and dig in! (Don't actually light a fire unless its safe, a red piece of paper would be a suitable replacement).

3 years later (A/N I have no friggin idea how gods or primordial age so for the sake of convenience Percy is aging normally. Eg. after 3 years he is 3)

Hestia was walking back to her palace. She sighed. It had been another day of pointless arguments among the Olympians. Athena had taken one of Poseidon's cyclops without asking, claiming it was to do research on aquatic monsters. Poseidon, of course, was not happy that she had taken one of his subjects, and so captured many of Athena's sacred owls in retaliation. He then turned the owls into fish, sending them into the ocean.

"You filthy barnacle beard! You can not simply take my owls and transform them into fish for petty reasons!" shouted Athena.

"Oh yeah! What about my cyclops huh? He was our palace chef! How are we to survive without food, owl breath?!" Poseidon screamed back.

"You idiot! You have hundreds of chefs! I need to study underwater creatures for the pursuit of marine knowledge! And owls don't even use their sense of smell!"

"So what? Owls breath still smells bad!"

Hestia sighed as she walked through the gardens of Olympus. The many beautiful flowers, planted by Demeter, created a jungle of sweet-smelling fragrances, which helped to soothe her mind.

As she entered her palace, she was surprised at the distinct lack of a ball of "Perseus" rushing towards her and jumping up to hug her. She walked through the palace, calling out his name. She began to panic when she was unable to find him, because it would be trouble if he were to leave the palace and expose himself to anyone else.

She walked out to her backyard, and found Perseus with his back turned to her. He was sitting down, staring intently at a bright ball of flame about the size of a softball.

"Perseus!" she shouted.

Perseus turned around and tried to stand up at the same time, but he quickly lost his balance and fell face first onto the ground.

"Mama!" he cried, sporting a toothy grin at Hestia. "Look! I found a birdy, it's very pretty," he said, turning back and pointing at the ball of fire.

Hestia approached the small fire, and gasped. Curled inside was a small phoenix, obviously just born. It had magnificent golden orange plumes, seemingly wreathed in fire. Its eyes were bright and blazing with intelligence. Slowly, the flames died down, leaving a disgruntled yet curious baby phoenix. It blinked its eyes, and tilted its head, staring up at Perseus. Perseus, in turn, tilted his head at the phoenix, before breaking into a goofy smile. The phoenix chirped and hopped into Perseus' lap, and trilled once in happiness. Perseus laughed and clapped his small hands. The phoenix once again hopped up until it reached Perseus' small head, where it closed its eyes contentedly, and snuggled into his messy hair.

"Look Mama! I made a friend!" cried Perseus happily, running to hug Hestia.

Hesita smiled warmly at Perseus, hugging him back, albeit still a little shocked that he had found a phoenix, one of the rarest magical creatures in existence.

"I would like to name him, hmmmm, how about Mr. Flamey-O, or for short, Flamey! (A/N name suggestions please!).

Hestia looked at Perseus, a small smile on her face, before shrugging, he's your phoenix anyways. Perseus cheered.

"Wait a second young man," Hestia said seriously as she looked at him sternly. "Make sure to tell me whenever you leave the house, Perseus, even if it is just to the backyard," Hestia scolded. "You know that you can not allow anyone else to see you."

"Sorry mama," Perseus said, with a small pout on his face.

"It's alright Perseus, as long as it doesn't happen again," replied Hestia. "Now," she clapped her hands together, "I believe it is time to bake some red cookies, isn't it?"

She took Perseus' small hand, and they raced back towards the palace to bake some red cookies.

BREAK

3 years later (Perseus is now 6 years old)

Hestia decided that today was the day that Perseus' training would begin. Perseus was now six, and he needed to be proficient in his fighting skills if her little boy were to be able to defend himself. She had already consulted Eros via IM, and he had approved of her idea.

She sent an IM to her brother Hades, and his face appeared in the mist. He was in his throne room, arguing with Persephone about the space her gardens took up in the Underworld.

"You have no idea how crowded the Underworld is dear! I need that acre to facilitate the EZ death lines. The security guards just love to spend every second complaining and it is driving -

Hestia cleared her throat, and Hades turned towards her startled, before rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Hello sister, I'm sorry you had to see that," Hades said as he shot a dirty look at Persephone, who returned it with equal ferocity. "Anyways, how's it going sister?"

Hades was the closest god to Hestia, as they were the two eldest siblings, and also the wisest (A/N rip Athena she's so petty. wisdom more like argumentative idk) gods.

"I'm fine brother, but I have a request for you. I have a son that I want you to train in the Underworld. I need to keep his identity hidden from the rest of the world, and I know that the best place to train him would be in your domain."

Hades looked at Hestia in surprise. "You have a son? With who? If you were taken advantage of then I will rip them to shreds," Hades growled, his anger growing.

"He is my adopted son," Hestia reassured quickly, "but he is just as much of my son as he is Eros'."

"Eros?" Hades said, "Sister, you know Zeus would kill him immediately if he knew of his existence. Our younger brother is quite paranoid about powerful beings, especially concerning a child of a primordial."

"I know that Hades, which is why I want him to train with you in the Underworld. No one would be able to find him there, and I find it unlikely that the dead would leak information."

Hades sighed, rubbing his temple. "You know that there is a big risk of going behind Zeus' back sister, if he were to find out, he would think that I was trying to overthrow him."

"Please brother, he is not just Eros' son, he is my son," Hestia replied.

"On one condition sister," Hades said, "I would like to meet the little tyke before deciding whether or not I am willing to risk Zeus' wrath."

"Thank you brother," replied Hestia, "I am eternally grateful. I will bring him over." And with that Hestia swiped her hand, severing the connection.

BREAK

Hestia appeared in a flash of flames with Perseus by her side. He was holding her hand nervously, a little intimidated by the darkness of the Underworld. Flamey, now the size of a basketball (he grew after three years), was perched on his head, craning its head around to observe the new setting.

"Come Perseus," Hestia said, "there is nothing to be worried about, your uncle Hades is a big softie under all the dark gothy-ness (LMAO)."

They entered the palace and found themselves standing in front of Hades and Persepone, the two gods sitting on their respective thrones, human sized. Hades looked down at Perseus, an indescribable look in his cold black eyes.

Perseus bowed. Flamey tilted his neck slightly too, paying respect to the powerful being in front of him.

"Rise nephew," Hades said. He studied the young boy in front of him. He was beautiful, in a sense, and although not fully grown, there was no doubt that he would become a handsome man. His eyes were a swirl of pink, purple, red, but they were mainly orange, most likely due to Hestia he reasoned. Overall, they were certainly not his average visitors. Hestia, the maiden goddess, with her adopted son of Eros, who had bright swirling eyes, and accompanied by an almost unheard of magical creature camped on his head.

Hades had noticed that recently, Hestia had been much happier, and he reasoned that it was because of her son, Perseus. Hades was happy for his sister, she deserved happiness. And if Perseus was the one to bring her happiness, he would gladly support him.

"Sister," Hades said to Hestia, "I would gladly train Perseus. If you would allow it, I would also like to bless him."

Hestia simply nodded.

"I, Hades, God of Death, Riches, Shadows, and the Underworld, bless Perseus, son of Eros, and adopted son of Hestia.

Shadows formed around Perseus, before dispersing in a sigh. There wasn't much change to Perseus. His hair was a little darker, his skin was a little paler, and the surrounding shadows seemed to lean a little towards him.

Hades smiled warmly (as warm as the lord of the dead could) down at Perseus. Perseus looked at Hestia shyly, and she nodded imperceptibly. Almost immediately, Perseus shot off and jumped into Hades' lap, surprising all but Hestia, who was struggling to hold in a laugh. He hugged Hades and said: "Hi uncle Hades! It's nice to meet you! Thank you for giving me your blessing! Can I control shadows like you? You look very dark and gloomy! Are those faces in your robes? Do you like the color orange? Do you have any pets?"

Hades, who was still reeling from the suddenness of it all, looked to his wife for support. Perseus, noticing this, looked too at his wife.

"Wow uncle, your wife is very pretty. You guys must love each other a lot!"

Persephone and Hades looked at the child in Hades' lap, a little wide-eyed, before glancing at each. Persephone blushed, and Hades' pale cheeks darkened ever so slightly. For some reason, Hades had the urge to plan a romantic dinner with his wife, and later, a romantic stroll through her magnificent gardens. He wanted her to be as happy as possible. Likewise, Persephone had the urge to flash herself and Hades into their bedroom so that they could cuddle while watching a movie (AN watch forrest gump it's great ;).

Hestia, quickly noticing the googly eyes and the blushing cheeks, and especially the increasing awkwardness in the room, quickly snapped her fingers, whisking Hades and Persepohones away to their bed chambers. Perseus, happily oblivious, looked at Hestia in confusion.

"Mama, why did you take Uncle and Aunty away?" he asked.

"Well Perseus, I sent them away so that they could, um, have some alone time." Hestia replied awkwardly."

"Why do they need alone time mama?"

"Err, um, err - "

"Do they want to make babies?"

"Perseus! Where did that come from? Who told you about babies?"

"Heehee. Relax mama, I was just joking. Kissing is gross anyways." Perseus stuck his tongue out, before breaking out into laughter.

Hestia sighed, allowing a small smile to grace her face. She looked at Perseus, laughing and playing with Flamey, so full of joy, innocence. She wished that he would never grow up, that he could be pure forever, but alas, he would one day have to venture out into the world, a colder and crueler place. She could only hope that he would always retain some of his purity, his hope.

A/N: Ok. Kinda boring stuff. Review, pm, whatever you feel like doing. Yes I added a phoenix. Why? Phoenixes are hot. Pls suggest names, also gender for phoenix. I know I referred to Flamey as male, but let me know if yall would like him/her to be female (doesn't really matter). Next chapt, probably going into trojan war. Yes I know I know, other stories have done this. But I love ancient warrior stories, so deal with it. Might meet a goddess next chappy... Timeline might be messed up but bear with me... Till next time.
