Desolation: A Tomura Shigaraki SI-OC

Chapter Three: Young Midoriya

I walk, trying to make my actions and path seem aimless. In truth, they are deliberate, and have intent. Meaning.

The Sludge Villain had mugged several civilians during the past days. Many heroes had assembled in order to catch the shit monster, but none of the teams or individuals had been able to corner the sentient mud man.

What's more, the police were after a man resembling the Giant Villain defeated by Mt. Lady in the beginning of both the anime and the manga. It would be time for canon to begin very soon…if it wasn't already.

My observations of the young hero-to-be, Izuku Midoriya had proved fruitful. I had deducted from his attitude that there were no alterations to the current timeline. He watched hero fights. Went to that cesspit Aldera. Got beat up by Bakugou and mocked by other students—!

(For something that no one could control.)

(HATE)

-And went home. Sometimes he would watch hero fights while he went home. He still wore the same red shoes that Shigaraki had and I wore.

My internet adventures had also proved fruitful, as I could now access the dark web from my phone and computer. Most people would assume that such a thing would be difficult.

To my own horror, it really isn't.

Just gotta click a couple links or access some pages and chatrooms, and you will have stepped into a larger and darker world.

Overhaul had finished recruiting, and I suspect that he was now using Eri to create his quirk-erasing bullets.

(Foul bastard will pay.)

I had discovered this through my own deduction skills…and with the help of an inside source.

That source being Giran, and one of his contacts. The older man never told me who his contact in the Yakuza was, but the information was good.

And why wouldn't it be. He was a broker, after all.

I had been wandering towards Aldera, guised in the garb and appearance of Tomura Shigaraki, when an explosion of noise occurred, drawing my attention and the attention of several civilians.

It was the Gigantification villain, most likely trying to flee from law enforcement after botching his robbery…and tearing up the scene in the process.

Many of the civilians in the area began heading towards the battle, chattering excitedly as they did so.

(Idiots.)

I shook my head, and then made my way towards the fight.

Izuku Midoriya would be there, after all. Best I went to ensure that everything went according to canon.

I do find him later, talking to the old man who calls him a hero fan. Everything proceeds normally from there. Kamui Woods almost takes down the villain, and then Mt. Lady shows up and Canyon Cannon's the fucker out of consciousness. Bunch of reporters and cameramen show up and start taking pictures once the lady strikes a rather seductive pose. Izuku mutters and takes notes, and then he leaves.

I knew what would happen next. Everyone who watched or read MHA did.

I had been lurking around Aldera for a while, as I did with many of the canon locations that I had access to. Kurogiri had made these hauntings easy, and his portals had helped me gather evidence that at least one member of the staff here supported the Meta Liberation Army.

I hid somewhere by the koi pond, right where the notebook would fall after being scorched by Bakugou. Encounter went just about as expected.

'You all want to be heroes.'

'Bakugou and Midoriya are applying for UA.'

"If you want a quirk, then jump off the school rooftop and pray for a quirk in your next life!"

An explosion. The notebook falls out the window. I take it, hoping that no one saw me.

Plan commences.

Izuku Midoriya enters the koi pond area, looking for his notebook as I watch from the inside of a bush. I could just ask for Kurogiri to warp me out, but I needed to ensure that Izuku would be attacked by the Sludge Villain and saved by All Might.

And lo and behold, he was. Even after not being able to find the notebook, he remained for a while, internally monologuing while the cover to the sewer entrance stirred. The Sludge Villain emerged moments later, smelling of sewage and shit, and attacked Midoriya.

Right on que, the Symbol of Peace himself appeared, in all of his gigantic and muscular glory.

Few heroes can live up to their own legend, methinks. All Might proves himself to be one of the few. A single punch renders the shit monster and Izuku both unconscious, and the Sludge villain is swept into an empty coke bottle.

All Might does not sign the book, since I now have it, but he does stick around long enough for Midoriya to wake up. Midoriya proceeds to have a stroke when he sees that All Might himself has graced poor quirkless him with his presence.

(They worship him as if he is some kind of god. They shouldn't.)

All Might leaps into the air, Midoriya clinging to his leg. They land on top of a nearby building. I depart for that same building.

Five or ten minutes later, an explosion occurs, and Yagi Toshinori exits the building. I don't pay him much mind, since he is not my quarry, and he doesn't pay me much mind, since he seems focused on the Sludge Villain's attack.

Maybe a few seconds afterwards, Izuku exited the building. He seemed very melancholy—which made sense due to the event that just happened—and looked like he was lost in thought, and only operating on autopilot. It made it easier to track him.

Time to put the final step into motion…

Izuku could not put what he felt into words. His idol—All Might—had told him that his dream was impossible. That he should find something else to do with his life.

Bakugou was right. His teachers were right. His classmates were right. Everyone he ever met was right.

(I'm so sorry Izuku.)

The green haired teen felt tears sting his eyes, yet he refused to cry. He could still apply to UA. Take the practical exam for the Hero Course.

'But what would be the point?' A traitorous voice whispered in his mind.

Izuku's shoulders slumped. What would be the point? It wasn't like he would ever be any used to anybody. He never stood up for himself. Never saved anyone. Never won an actual fight. Never—!

His thoughts were cut off when he rounded a corner and saw the Sludge Villain—

(He must have knocked the bottle from All Might's pocket. This was all his fault! And now Kacchan—!)

Holding his childhood friend captive, slowly strangling him as he had almost been strangled. Izuku saw All Might in the crowd, his form thin and weak, the heroes doing nothing to save him as his old friend's eyes met his own—!

Two cold hands wrapped around the back of his throat and rested on his left shoulder.

"Hello Izuku Midoriya…or should I call you…Small Might."

No.

In all of the chaos and cruelty of the past hour, he had forgotten. He had first noticed that someone had been following him around about two months ago, some time he had gone to a mall to purchase All Might merchandise.

Why?!

At first, he thought seeing the hooded figure following him home was just a coincidence. After all, the figure always took different turns to different areas each time he saw him.

Then he kept showing up in places he would frequent. Always watching him with calculating, curious red eyes. He had considered contacting the police…but his past experiences with adults…who would listen to a quirkless kid?

Not contacting the police did allow him to learn some things about his stalker though. The stalker never collected anything of his, never followed him into the apartment complex, and never tried to approach him—until today, at least.

The stalker also seemed to take up one of his habits—hero analysis. Many of the times he had been stalked, there would be a hero fight to observe, and both he and his stalker both watched the battles, taking notes in identical notebooks.

It was almost as if the taller individual was a darker version of Midoriya himself.

And that name…SmallMight. It was his online alias. Was the Stalker following him online too?!

Izuku tried to make his voice sound stern, but all he could manage was a quiet whimper.

"W…Wh…"

"Why?" The stranger asked for him. "Very simply. Look. At your heroes."

Izuku looked. The only ones who were doing anything that could be remotely considered helpful were Kamui Woods and Backdraft—one was evacuating civilians and the other was engaged in a battle with the intense flames that Bakugou had created. Even All Might…

(But his time had run out for the day…and yet that is not a reason to let someone die as you watch…)

"So you see it then." The stalker said, his words cutting through the tension like a blade. "The fact that these men and women that you revere are not above us, Midoriya. In fact, they are less. Most of them save others not for any altruistic reasons…"

'You're all going to be heroes!'

'I'm going to be number one! The strongest, the best! The richest and the most famous!'

'Without power you can't be a hero.'

"…but because they will be worshiped for it. Like Endeavor and this Mt. Lady. The word 'hero' has lost its true meaning. No longer is being a hero a service to the community. Now it is something to be profited off of. No longer is it about the good actions that you can perform, but about what kind of quirk you have!"

'Without power you can't be a hero.'

The stalker snarled as the hand holding his shoulder released and pointed towards All Might. "Even the Symbol of Peace has forgotten, saying that 'no one can be a hero without a quirk'! Bullshit! Quirks have only existed for two centuries, and suddenly everyone forgets every soldier, every police officer, every person who hugged a crying, desperate child and told them that everything would be okay?!"

The stalker stopped for a breath. "It's disgusting. Pathetic. And it needs to end."

"Why are you telling me this?" Izuku finally asked.

"Because you know. You may not admit it but you know the truth. This system that we have is flawed, and it cannot sustain itself, even with All Might standing at its helm. Someone will use the truth against the system, if All Might does not fall first. Which is why…I want you to join me. Me and my cause. Rid the world of this falsehood and save the people from themselves. No more quirkless kids being told to jump off rooftops, no more people with so-called 'villainous' quirks being pushed into lives of crime, no more heroes telling people what they can and cannot be. No more."

Izuku is struck silent. Kacchan is dying. This villain wanted to recruit him, and Kacchan was dying. The heroes were doing nothing and Kacchan was dying. Nobody was doing anything and Kacchan was dying, even the villain who was holding him back!

Izuku Midoriya had every reason to turn to the dark side. Even if it wasn't right, there would be those who would sympathize with such a cause. He could join this man, and perhaps the world would be changed.

But you would no longer be a hero. And Kacchan would die.

He made his decision…and elbowed the man in the gut.

I gasped as Izuku's elbow struck my diaphragm, hunching over as he ran to save Bakugou.

In the end, he hadn't been swayed by my cause.

Good.

If All For One was to be beaten, things would have to play out as they did in canon…for now.

At least I gave him his notebook back.

"Giran. It's me."

"Who—oh, Shimura right? Or should I call you—!"

"Doesn't matter right now. I have a proposition."
"Shoot, kid."

"You ever wonder why Destro never struck any true blows against hero society?"

"His followers were mostly anarchists. Sure, people were attracted to his cause, but he only wanted the government to change the regulation laws. His followers wanted…more."

"Yes. The divide between what he wanted and what his followers wanted was what lead to his defeat. He fell because his Meta Liberation Army was disorganized."

"Oh yeah. His followers—this new army—don't seem to have that though."

"Which is why I wanted to call you. What if the criminals in today's society were more organized? Less divided? All united under one leader. One cause. All for one goal?"

"What are you getting at here kid?"

"The heroes have their own society. Don't you think the outcasts deserve one as well? Don't you think we should get…a league of our own?"

AN: And that covers the third chapter! Next time, Tenko Shimura shall begin recruiting villains for All For One's war on the world—and his own war against the commission and All For One.

And now, Omake! If any of you viewers have played Resident Evil (and been amongst the fandom) you will know of the Chrisposting meme.

Here is your omake: SI is Dabi, Shoto is a gurl, and Midoriya is basically Ethan.

Midoriya sighed as he rested his back against the walls of the room he had been trapped in. So far, the League of villains had not harmed him (despite Toga's insistence to make him all 'nice and bloody') physically or mentally. At least here he was safe from the mad ramblings of—!

"IZUKU!"

No.

Dabi—also known as Touya Todoroki—was pressed against the iron bars of the window of his cell, his eyes alight with insanity.

"I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL GET YOU OUT OF THERE BEFORE THE YANDERE VAMPIRE GETS YOU!"

Blue fire began to crop up on the madman's arms and hair as the vigilante began to strain against the bars.

"I KNOW HOW DANGEROUS IT IS IN THERE IZUKU…!"

The bars began to heat up and warp from the heat in Dabi's hands, and bend as the scarred man pulled them apart.

"…BUT DON'T WORRY! YOU'LL BE IN MY SISTER'S ARMS SOON ENOUGH!"

Damnit!

"Wait, Touya!"

With a final roar, the window and the wall both exploded into blue flames.
