Desolation: A Tomura Shigaraki SI-OC

Chapter Thirteen: Tensions

"May I have some water?"

Twice stared at the man in the plague doctor mask as Kurogiri brought said man his requested drink. He had been brought in by Dabi soon after Shimura and Mustard had left the bar on their usual walks. Dabi claimed that the man wanted to speak to Shimura about a joiner between his organization—some group called the Shie Hassaikai—and Shimura's own League of Villains. The idea behind this being was that The League would provide funds for one of Overhaul's projects, and in return the Yakuza would provide Death Hand weapons and supplies.

Twice wasn't usually one to think such things, but the look in the scarred man's eyes made the cloner think that there was something else going on. Something far more…sinister. Toga and Magne sat in one of the corners of the bar, both keeping a wary eye on the masked man. Toga stared at Overhaul as one would stare at a meal, while Magne observed the man with her analytical eyes, determining whether or not he was a threat.

The bar door opened, and in stepped the Death Hand and the one everyone knew was his second in command—the one called Mustard. The shorter one in the gas mask took a good look at Overhaul and tensed. That was when Twice realized that something was wrong. Shimura placed a hand on the younger teen's shoulder and directed him to a table. Then, he turned to Overhaul.

"So, you are the leader of the Shie Hassaikai."

"Indeed I am." The man said.

"The two men—Setsuno and Hojo—they were yours?"

Twice couldn't see his face, but he could tell from the way his eyes crinkled up that the Yakuza man was smiling.

"We told you that we'd be in touch."

Shimura's mouth twitched a little. "So you did."

There was silence for a moment. Then Shimura sat down in one of the chairs, leaned forward, and shifted his jaw a little. "So then, Overhaul…why are you here?"

Overhaul steepled his fingers. "Like I said, I came to propose a joiner."

"And what will this…joiner…of yours consist of?" Shimura asked Overhaul.

"A very simple trade. A trust exercise if you will." The masked man began. "I will send you two of my men, and you will send two of yours."

Shimura bit his lower lip, twisted his head a little, and then stared at the yellow-eyed man straight in his yellow orbs. Silence reigned yet again as Shimura's hands curled into fists. Then he spoke. "Which men?"

"Kendo Rappa and Hekiji Tengai." Overhaul responded. "You'll find them to be quite the formidable duo." Twice would not be surprised if Overhaul was smirking right now. "I've often referred to them as the ultimate shield and spear combination."

"Is that so?" Shimura questioned. "Well then…" He said, scanning over the present members of the League. "Why not Magne and Toga?"

"And why would I want them?" Overhaul asked.

"Magne is not only good in a fight..." Shimura began, a confident smirk on his face. "She is also quite the adept strategist." He then turned to Toga. "And dear Himiko Toga here is quite the stealth operative."

Overhaul blinked. "Toga? The serial killer?"

"Indeed."

Overhaul chuckled. "And here I believed that you were some sort of idealist. I'll take her, so long as there are no betrayals."

Shimura clenched his hands, and then he loosened them. "Oh, trust me, Overhaul. There will be no betrayals from me and mine."

Overhaul seemed to wait for something, examining Shimura as he did so. Once he found what he was looking for, he took his cup and walked towards the door. "We will commit this exchange at about 2:30 PM on Thursday. You will have your members back after a week of work, and you will give us our members back."

Shimura smiled. "Agreed. I assume that we will be able to meet each other during this timeframe to discuss further terms?"

"Of course." Overhaul replied. "It would be bad business to disallow such meetings, especially if they brought…benefits to both parties."

Overhaul left. Shimura took a deep breath, and then turned his attention towards Kurogiri.

"Kurogiri, how goes the search for Stain?"

"We've made much progress, though that has been helped by the fact that he has been searching for you as well."

The corner of the Death Hand's lips turned upwards. "Good. I suspect I will have to implement my plan sooner than I had realized."

Izuku Midoriya turned the corner of the hallway, hoping to find the blond student with the tail quirk—he believed that his name was Mashirao Ojiro. Kirishima had told him that Ojiro trained at a dojo that helped teach both martial arts, and how to control quirks. After he had told All Might—or rather, Toshinori Yagi—of this development, the hero had recommended that he seek out the other teen.

The green-haired teen could only hope that Ojiro would help him gain access to said dojo.

Aizawa grimaced as he looked over the report of the USJ incident for the umpteenth time this week. He had been mostly uninjured during the attacks, but the fact that his students could have been…

Aizawa shook his head. No point in focusing on what could have been. Only focus on the present. So why was he still looking over these reports…

Then he found what he was looking for. A statement from Kyoka Jiro. Something about Shie Hassaikai. Shie Hassaikai…who were a group of Yakuza. Yakuza…who were often used as goons for villains nowadays…

The Hero known as Eraserhead smirked. He had a lead.

"How did you find this possible successor to be, Doctor?"

The Doctor stilled for a moment; his body leaned over a microscope. Then, the Doctor stood straight and looked at the monitor that the voice of his master spoke from.

"I believe that he understands the truth about quirks. Perhaps even better than I do."

"So you like him."

"I prefer him to the Arms Dealer and the Experiment."

"What about the Avenger and the Idealist?"

"I would have to meet those two to determine that." The Doctor said, turning his attention back to the microscope, and then to a poster on the wall.

THERE ARE THREE STAGES TO TRUTH.

FIRST IT IS MOCKED.

THEN IT IS VIOLENTLY OPPOSED.

THEN IT IS ACCEPTED AS SELF-EVIDENT.

"Yes, I believe Overhaul knows the truth indeed…"

AN: Wow…it has been a while since I've updated this…

Well, I do have other projects to work on, but I shall update this as frequently as possible.
