Jane's house
'How is she, Joe?' Hetty asked.
'Well, her temperature has gone down a little, and she' s been asleep most of the day. But, it's still scary to see her look so weak.' Joe replied, sounding worried.
'I know that feeling. I've done the bedside vigil thing with my own people 1 too many times, and seeing them in such a state never gets any easier.'
'I can imagine. Well, if you need anything, Just let me know.'
'Go get some rest. You've done enough.' Hetty finished.
Joe left to get some sleep, and Hetty sat down next to Jane.
'Oh sweetie. These stupid flu bugs are a real pain. But I know you'll pull through like the fighter you are!' Hetty softly said.
Hetty pulled out a book and started reading. When she was almost done reading it, Jane woke up.
'Hey. When did you get here?' She sleepily asked.
'I was in the neighborhood, then Joe called me and told me what was wrong, figured I'd come see you.' Hetty replied.
'Well, you didn't have to do that. I'll be just fine in a couple of days.'
'I know. But Joe was wearing himself out with worry, and he really needed sleep. And you're my friend. Friends do this kind of thing for each other.'
'Well, could you be a friend and get me some water? I'm very thirsty.' Jane asked.
'Coming right up!'
For the next couple of days, Hetty and Joe took turns taking care of Jane.
'Thanks for taking care of me. I know I wasn't always the best patient, but you're very patient, and I'm grateful for that.' Jane said.
'No biggie. Mr. Callen is a lot worse then you when it comes to being unruly while sick.' Hetty replied.
'Smirk. Bet that's a real hassle.'
'Oh you have no idea! (chuckle).'
