We would be at Coruscant shortly and I had to prepare to meet with the Council. A knock on my quarter's door made me look back from where I had just finished getting dressed beside my bed.

"Enter." I called out. The door slid open to reveal Morek. I smiled warmly at him and gestured for him to come in.

"Just wanted to come check on you." He said as the door slid shut behind him. He took another step into the room as I nodded and sat against the desk across from the bed.

"I'm alive." I offered. It got quiet for a moment so I took a deep breath. "Is it true?" He let out a slow breath of his own. He put his head down and walked over to sit on the on the desk next to me. "She's gone?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes… I'm sorry." Tears stung my eyes, but I contorted my face and looked up to keep them from falling.

"What about the others?" My voice was shaky as I looked back to the ground and blinked quickly, letting the tears fall to the floor before looking back over to Morek. He had a pained look on his face and I could feel his guilt.

"Most of them made it out of the city before the Guardians retook control of the city. Tweensy gave her life to keep the bridge open as long as she could. She helped get a lot of people out." I nodded at his words as I looked back towards the bed. I scoffed and stood up, crossing my arms over my chest.

"All of the death and destruction Taelo caused… I could have prevented it…" Morek jumped up and grabbed my arm to spin me around.

"What happened is not your fault, Kemara." He almost sounded mad. Then his voice softened and he took a step back. "If anyone is to blame, it's me." I loosened my arms and opened my mouth to say something, but he raised a hand to stop me. "I'm the one who found Taelo and recruited him. I thought that if I found my brother and sister, they'd want to fight for Mekkef just as much as me." I inhaled deeply and let it out slowly, moving to lean back against the desk at I spoke.

"You didn't know how evil Taelo was. I guess I didn't either." I admitted. "The Jedi Code forbids us from seeking revenge or acting out of anger, but, thruthfully, if I had just done it on Mekkef, Taelo wouldn't have been able to hurt so many people. I struggle to follow my Code sometimes, and rarely do I disobey it, but on occasion, I think it's the reason we don't do what needs to be done."

"Your Code is what makes you better than others though. You show compassion to those who don't deserve it and that's a very hard thing to do. But I think it's admirable." I huffed out a soft laugh and glanced to the ground briefly before looking back up.

"Some people think we're crazy." Morek laughed at my words and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Only a little." He joked back and I let a smile grace my lips. Another knock on my door made us look over. I sighed and stood up before walking over to the door and opening it.

"Waxer. What's up?" I greeted the familiar trooper.

"The General wanted me to let you know we're approaching Coruscant if I saw you." I snickered softly at his words.

"Thanks for coming all the way to my quarters to tell me." I teased. I could tell he was smiling under his helmet. He held out a fist and I reached up to give him a fist bump.

"Good to see you, Commander." I nodded at him and he carried on. It really was good to be back.
