"The Return of the Genius" featured a reunion, 17 years after "Young Sheldon" between Sheldon and Paige. What happened next?

September 2009.

In her second week at Caltech, as a way of introducing herself to her new colleagues, Paige gave a seminar to the Physics department. Sheldon, Raj and Leonard were all in the audience. Professor Gablehauser introduced the speaker.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. As you know it is traditional at Caltech for us to invite new members of staff to give a talk on their work so we can all get to know each other. It gives me great pleasure to introduce Dr. Paige Swanson. She was a child prodigy, studying at East Texas Tech in the early 1990s with our colleague Dr. Cooper. She did her first degree at Princeton and Ph.D at Harvard. She then did some postdoctoral work at ETH Zürich in Switzerland before returning to Harvard. She then went to the other Cambridge to work with Professor Hawking before she came back to the USA to join us here at Caltech. She will speak on 'Routes to a Theory of Everything'. The floor is yours Dr. Swanson…"

1 hour later Paige finished to what was, to a seminar room with about 25 Physicists, thunderous applause.

Gablehauser then spoke "Thank you Dr. Swanson for a fascinating talk. Any questions?"

Sheldon immediately leapt to his feet and started to ask a series of detailed questions which Paige was able to answer. For nearly 20 minutes they went back and forth with questions and answers. Finally Gablehauser was able to interrupt them.

"I think that Dr. Swanson and Dr. Cooper should continue their discussion elsewhere. Can we all thank Dr. Swanson again." More applause then Sheldon said

"Dr. Swanson, would you care for a hot beverage so we can carry on discussing this?"

"Thank you Dr. Cooper, that is an excellent idea." Sheldon and Paige immediately left the seminar room together.

As they walked out Leonard said to Raj "Oh boy, who would have thought it, Sheldon has got it bad!"
