Rewatched some Charmed, which was one of the first shows I ever obsessed over, and got inspired to write something. I always wanted a moment like this on the show, and rewatching it made me remember how beautiful the relationship between the original sisters were. This is the result. Hope there still are some Charmed fans out there.

Darkness imbedded the Halliwell home, the house quiet except from one of its members nightly tasks in the kitchen. Piper balanced her pyjama clad baby on one arm as she finished preparing his bottle with the other, a routine she had developed the past few weeks. Her long, brown curls were pulled into a messy braid, convenient as small hands looked for something to grab hold of from their place in his mother's arms. Not being able to reach his favourite strands of hair, Wyatt stuffed his face down into the cloth of Piper's cotton night gown. He rubbed his tired face into the soft fabric, and Piper chuckled while she shook the plastic bottle a few times, pouring some liquid onto her forearm to have a taste. Perfect, not too hot, she thought as she made her way into the sitting room. "So, now you're tired, mister," she tiredly sighed as she handed the bottle to her son. Piper knew he would only awake again soon if he fell asleep now, so she pushed for the baby to grab hold of the bottle. The last couple of weeks of nightly awakenings had taught her that.

"Here you go, sweetheart," she gently said to her baby as she sat them down on the sofa. Leaning back into the cushions, she made sure Wyatt was content in her lap. Gently stroking his newly turned blond curls, Piper savoured the moment with her son. He had the softest hair, she thought, as her fingers danced over the curls. The fact that he was turning blonde was a welcome surprise, seeing as most in the family were brunettes. She liked the fact that her boy was alike his father.

Piper wrinkled her forehead, reminding herself of the fact that the colour of Wyatt's hair was the least of her concerns right now. Lately she had been stressed, always on the nerve to protect her son from the next threat coming their way. She was tired. Tired of having evil seek out her precious baby. She had no greater wish than for him to be safe, always, and right this moment he was, and she was grateful. Kissing the top of his precious head, Piper let the warmth of his little body and the sucking sound from his lips calm her and she closed her eyes.

How could anyone want to hurt such a sweet and innocent being, as her son she wondered. Was it wrong of her, of them, to let him keep his powers? She was his mother, and she was supposed to know what was best for him. But lately, she was not sure if she knew what the right thing for him was. Wyatt was gifted, and Piper knew that her son would be able to do such good things with his powers. They were a part of him, and something she and Leo had given to him the second he was conceived out of their love. So, how could she take that from him?

Both she and Leo had agreed, they would not do that. They would not exclude such an important part of their son. Except, that was before. When she did not know just how wanted her baby would become.

And the nagging decision she and her sisters had grown up with, a decision made by people she respected a lot, haunted her. The three sisters had had a normal childhood, or at least as normal as it could be getting raised by her grandmother. If her grandmother had thought it was a good decision, then there had to have been good reason for it? And at least then, Wyatt would be safe. No one would want to take him away from her and hurt him.

She hugged the baby closer to her, uttering her valving question out loud. "What's the right thing to do?"

A sudden brightness made Piper open her eyes, and she was met by white lights appearing in front of the twosome, glistering bright lights dancing up and down in a way Piper had seen before.

Out of instinct Piper cuddled Wyatt closer but waited before taking him away from what would appear. She had a feeling that this was not danger.

A familiar figure was revealed before her, the lights dissolving around the person standing in front of Piper. Feeling her breath hatch in her chest, Piper instinctively lifted her hand to her mouth. "Prue," she carefully whispered, wondering if this was all a dream.

A bright smile erupted on the standing brunette's face as she stood there, showing off those perfect teeth Piper had always envied growing up. Her hair was still the darkest shade of brown, matching the black robes she was wearing. She was not anymore covered in lights, but completely real. "Hi, Piper," Prue softly said, and Piper inhaled deep as she heard her sister's voice.

"Am I dreaming," Piper shakily asked while lowering her hand back into her lap, where Wyatt also kept his blue orbs fixated on the newly appeared woman before them.

Prue's smile softened, and she carefully shook her head. "No. No, you're not."

As Prue began to make her way closer to the couch and her sister, Piper felt her throt thicken as she let out a shaky breath. With her eyes burning from the tears growing in them, she did not know what to do, what to think. She had dreamt of this moment but given up hoping for it to ever happen.

"Prue," was all that Piper could manage to say through her tears. And just like that, Prue was right there, wrapping her arms tightly around her sister's shoulders. Piper buried her face in her sister's hair, letting it catch the wetness from her tears, feeling the familiar scent that was Prue. Her sister.

Her sister was there, she could feel her, she was real. Wrapping her free arm around her sister's back, Piper let out a sob while feeling Prue cling to her body.

In their embrace, Wyatt made a sound, probably confused about the sudden closeness to this unfamiliar person, and both Piper and Prue loosened their embrace, giving the little boy their attention.

Prue was still smiling as she wiped a few tears from her cheeks, and it warmed Piper's heart. Piper had always loved her sister's smile. "Hi there, little guy," Prue gently said to the little boy and carefully touched Wyatt's delicate hand with her fingers.

"Look who it is, Wyatt. It's you aunt, Prue." Piper shifted the baby in her arms and grinned through the tears as she watched a scene before her, she always dreamt of. It was always so painful that Prue never got to meet her son, that her son never got to meet Prue.

Piper kissed the top of his head, his soft, blonde curls, and watched her son's eyes curiously meet Prue's. The bottle was long forgotten in his lap, and he reached his small chubby hand to catch a stray of dark hair falling from Prue's head.

"Oh," Prue said and took hold of her hair before the little boy could pull too hard. "You like hair, don't you?" She laughed and before Piper knew it, Wyatt was in Prue's arms, still clinging to the hair. Prue gently held the little boy while giving up trying to remove the strong hold Wyatt had on her hair. She kissed his skin as he kept tugging at her hair and laughed. Then she met Piper's tearful eyes, and her face changed to somewhat more serious. "He really is a beautiful boy," Prue whispered as she shifted the baby in her arms, her cheek resting against his head and Piper thought it was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. Her baby and her beloved big sister.

"He is," Piper said while gently smiling at her son, feeling more tears fall from her eyes. "Prue", she whispered and leant closer, joining the embrace of her son and sister. "I miss you so much," Piper continued as she tried to compose herself. She did not want Wyatt to be upset, so she leant back and took a deep, shaky breath. She wiped her cheeks and pulled her hair behind her ears. "I don't understand," she started as she grasped her sister's hand.

Prue adjusted Wyatt in her lap and let him rest his back against her chest as he welcomed the bottle Piper gave back to him. He grabbed hold of the bottle with his hands and leant back into his aunt's arms, almost as if he could tell she was family and he was safe.

Prue kissed the top of his head, leaning her head against his and savouring the moment of finally being near her nephew. Prue's hand found Piper's and she gave it a squeeze, pulling her sister closer on the sofa so that the younger sister shifted enough for her to rest her head on Prue's shoulder. Piper closed her eyes, keeping a hold of Prue's hand, feeling the familiar comfort and safety flood through her body, the safety only Prue could give her. It was a long time ago Piper had been someone's little sister.

Wyatt kept sucking on the bottle but seemed to become sleepier as Prue stroked his hair, and Piper rubbed his pyjama clad arm. Here you are safe and loved, my sweet baby Wyatt.

"I'm so grateful they sent me here," Prue said and kissed the top of Piper's head. "Even though they've helped me, and given me peace, I still miss you so much."

Piper opened her eyes and kissed Prue's hand clasped in hers, feeling all her love and admiration for her sister who had been taken from earth far too soon. "We all miss you so much, Prue. And you're still the first one I want to call and talk to-," Piper paused as she felt her voice start to tremble yet again. "I still can't believe you're not here with me," she continued with a cry. Having Prue next to her made all her walls come crashing down.

"I always watch over you," Prue softly said, her fingers dancing through a strand of shiny hair that had escaped Piper's braid. "Even though you can't see me, I'm always near. And I am so proud of you, Piper. I mean, everything that's happened. Everything with Paige, and Phoebe. No one could have been a better big sister than you, Piper." She again kissed Piper's hair and released a few more tears from her eyes. Prue meant every word.

"Those were very hard shoes to fill," Piper whispered, remembering how difficult it had been in the beginning, to accept Paige and accept the fact that Prue was not coming back and that she would have to learn how to live without her big sister. Still, she did not know however she managed to do it.

"I always knew you could do it, Piper. Even when you didn't think you were strong enough, I knew you were," Prue said with such reassurance and love that Piper believed her. Prue let out a small laugh as she continued. "And Wyatt, wow. You and Leo sure make good babies."

Piper felt a smile tug at her lips, too, as she listened to her sister continue. "He's such a perfect little boy," Prue said, caressing Wyatt's little foot.

"Yeah, he is, isn't he?" Piper agreed, lifting her hand to stroke her baby's cheek, seeing that he had fallen asleep on them. He fitted so perfectly in Prue's arms and Piper did not want this precious moment to ever end. "So," Piper began as she again leant back into Prue's shoulder. "You've seen everything from up there? You know his name," Piper questioned, curious to know how her sister had been present this whole time.

Prue also shifted, making herself more comfortable against the cushions. It felt so natural for them to be here, tangled together like they had been throughout their whole life. "Piper, I know everything," Prue said and as the words left her lips the sisters shared a laugh.

"Some things never change," Piper smiled, absentmindedly fumbling with the fabric of her son's baby blue pyjama as she continued. "Do you meet everyone up there," she continued. "Mom, grams-," Piper waited a second before uttering the name of the person she always hoped Prue would be with in whatever place she had gone to. "Andy?" She carefully lifted her head from Prue's shoulder, searching her sister's face. All she had wanted for Prue was that she would be in a better place, surrounded by the people she had lost too soon.

Piper saw the soft smile appearing on her sister's face, as she faintly nodded. "Yeah," was all Prue had to say and they both shared a smile. Somehow, they both had found a way to be with their soul mates.

"I'm glad," Piper whispered, lowering her gaze to the sleeping baby in Prue's arms. "And now you've met my son."

Prue smirked, and proudly said, "And I got to prove what I always knew; that I would be a great aunt. My nephew already loves me."

Piper laughed and rolled her eyes. "Oh, of course you are. Always so modest as well."

After sharing a look at the sleeping boy, they both stoop up from the sofa, Prue carefully holding Wyatt in her arms. As she cuddled the baby close to her body, whilst moving to the stairway, Piper stopped. "Prue," she begun, and the brunette turned around from where she stood at the bottom of the staircase. Piper continued, again memorizing the picture in front of her of Prue and Wyatt. "For whatever reason you're here now, thank you."

Prue gently smiled at her sister's genuine words. "I'm just glad they let me come down here finally, and that I got to meet my nephew." She kissed the baby's head and inhaled his scent, not being able to get enough if her precious nephew. "Speaking of which, he's gotten so big, and heavy."

Piper laughed and joined her sister by the stairway. "Tell me about it," she said, and they both started to climb the stairs. "My back sure knows it."

It felt strange yet so familiar to walk these stairs together, the same steps they had climbed a million times before. "You're staying for a while," Piper nervously asked as they reached the top of the stairs. Prue leaned her head against the baby's as she kept rocking her body to keep him in his slumber. She was a natural with him, almost as if she had been with him his whole life.

"I am," Prue reassured as she gave Wyatt one last kiss before giving him to Piper as they stopped outside Piper's room. She saw the relief on her sister's face, saw Piper's whole body relax to her words as the baby snuggled into his mother's chest. "I don't know for how long, but I promise to let you know as soon as I do." She gave Piper a kiss on the cheek, rubbing the baby's back as he continued his slumber. Prue searched Piper's gaze and gave her a reassuring smile. "I promise," she said again and even though Piper looked a bit uncertain, she seemed to accept her sister's words.

"Okay," Piper whispered and returned Prue's smile while blinking away the water again welling up in her eyes. Piper took a deep breath and squeezed her sister's hand one last time before turning to open her bedroom door. "I'll join you in Phoebe's room in a moment," she said with a smile before she entered the bedroom, knowing it was the place Prue was going.

Before Piper closed the door, she saw the excited smile of Prue's face as her sister took a turn down the corridor to see their baby sister.

Piper carefully entered her bedroom, its surroundings dark but for a faint light seeping in from the nursery. She could hear the gentle breathing from her husband as he was sleeping, unaware of tonight's happening. Piper quietly walked into the nursery, slowly placing the sleeping Wyatt in his crib. She pulled his baby blue blanket around him, placing his stuffed giraffe close. She rubbed his head a few times, making sure he was not to awake, but he seemed to be in a content, deep slumber. "Night, baby," Piper whispered as she leaned down to kiss his forehead before leaving the room.

Leo was still asleep but had turned to his side, his face turned against her as she stood by the side of their bed. For some reason Piper did not feel tired at all, but she hoped for her husband's sake that Wyatt would stay asleep for a few more hours since she knew Leo was exhausted from the lack of sleep the past few nights.

Leaning down beside him, she kissed his cheek, letting her lips linger for a few seconds as if to silently tell him the reason she would not return to their bed tonight.

Leo mumbled something and stirred on the bed. "Leo," Piper softly said as she leaned back, lifting her hand to gently stroke his arm. "You awake?"

He again mumbled something and then looked up, his tired eyes meeting hers. He looked quite adorable as he blinked the sleep from his eyes, his hair all messy from sleep. "Piper," he whispered, his hand grabbing for hers that was resting on his arm. "Everything okay?"

Piper smiled, clasping his warm hand. "Yeah, everything's okay. I just wanted to let you know I'm gonna stay in Phoebe's room tonight." She saw the confused look on his face and brushed her thumb over the back of his hand. "I'll explain tomorrow," she continued, feeling him relax and bring her hand closer to his chest. Its warmth was inviting, and she would have loved to snuggle close to him as he seemed to want her to, but she could not tonight. So, Piper continued. "Wyatt's asleep now, I've just given him a bottle. Will you take him if he wakes up again?"

"Sure, of course." Leo still looked a bit confused, and he seemed more awake now. "You're sure everything's okay?"

Piper smiled and leaned down to give him another kiss, her lips brushing over his. "Everything's fine. I just need to stay with Phoebe tonight."

Leo knew better than to get in the way of the sisters and accepted her words. "Okay. Let me know if you need anything."

"I will," Piper softly said and released his hand, giving his arm one last light stroke before standing up. "Go back to sleep, now. I love you."

"Love you, too," Leo whispered and seemed to already fall back to sleep.

Piper smiled while shaking her head at the adorableness of her husband, before making her way to Phoebe's room.

Piper gently opened the door to her sister's room and found Prue sitting on the bed, watching their baby sister sleep. Phoebe had some light coming in from outside, and a lamp was lit behind the curtain in the window so the room was bathed in a soft light.

As Piper closed the door behind her, Prue turned her head around and met her gaze. "I didn't want to wake her," she whispered, and Piper walked closer, sitting down behind Prue on the bed. "She looks so peaceful," Prue continued and leaned against Piper who wrapped her arms around Prue's back. "She's been through so much."

"She has," Piper agreed, thinking about everything with Cole, the source, and the baby. She admired Phoebe in so many ways, and her heart held a special place for the sleeping sister before her.

Phoebe stirred in her sleep, shifting on the bed and burying her head tighter into her pillow. As she tried to bring the duvet closer around her body, she seemed to notice something holding the it down on the bed. Phoebe made an irritated mumble before opening her eyes, only to meet a sight she had not seen in years having her wonder if she was still dreaming. Her two big sisters were there, in an embrace looking down at her. "Wha-", she started, her gaze wandering from Piper to Prue, to Piper again. "What's going on?" Phoebe quickly blinked the sleep from her eyes and was bright awake.

"It's true, Phoebe. Prue's here to visit us," Piper softly said, knowing how confused she had been herself about an hour before when she had just seen Prue. She could feel her eyes tearing up again as she uttered the words and saw Phoebe's emotional response to it all.

"I'm here, Pheebs," Prue said and opened her arms for her sister. Phoebe, still confused but ever the trusting one of them, threw her arms around Prue and held her hard.

"Prue," Phoebe whispered and sniffled as she buried her face in Prue's dark hair, inhaling her familiar scent and thanking all higher powers for this moment.

Piper joined the embrace, and the three sisters held each other as they had done so many times before, no one knowing where one of them stopped and the other began. It was familiar and yet not. Growing up together and knowing each other so well, combined with the strong bond they'd grown their first years being witches they had such a special bond. Such a special love between them.

Phoebe pulled away, wiping at her cheeks, meeting eyes with her eldest sister. She had missed those eyes so much, the blue eyes she had looked into her whole life. "Not that I'm not glad you're here, Prue, because I am. So, so glad." Phoebe took her sisters hand and stroked it, holding it against her chest. "But how can you be here? I thought we couldn't see you."

"You couldn't. It was too soon." Prue explained, as she looked at her sisters, her beautiful baby sisters. "But I guess now they thought we were ready. And they sent me down here to help you realize something, they wouldn't tell me more."

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again," Piper softly said as she leaned her cheek onto Prue's shoulder. Piper had never been the clingy type but with Prue it was different. She could not be close enough to her sister.

Phoebe grabbed Piper's hand with her free one, knowing how difficult it had been for Piper to accept that fact. "Me either. We had come to accept it, even though it was about the hardest thing we've ever had to do."

"You've had some very difficult things to deal with," Prue softly said as she squeezed Phoebe's hand. She had never been a big fan of Cole's, but Prue always knew just how much Phoebe loved him. "I'm sorry for everything you had to go through," Prue continued with in a soft voice.

Phoebe sighed and looked her sister straight in the eye. She did not have to say more. Phoebe knew what her sister meant, and Prue's eyes were filled with nothing but love. "I know, thank you."

Prue suddenly looked around in the room, taking in her surroundings. "You know, it's very strange to be back here. It feels so familiar, to be here with you."

"It does," Piper said and could almost feel time move back to those first years they were witches. It had been hard; it had been chaotic and scary. But at the same time, it had been the best years of her life. She would cherish those years forever, as a time she had the most treasured bond with her sisters. Before they grew up too much, before marriages and children. Before death.

The next morning, Piper awakened and found herself in Phoebe's bed. The memories slowly returned, the memories of Prue. "Phoebe," she said as she started to shaky her sleeping sister next to her.

"What? Too loud," Phoebe started and snuggled into Piper's side, before her eyes shot open. "Prue?" Phoebe's voice was in the same state of panic as how Piper felt.

"Prue," Piper repeated as they shared confused and nervous looks.

Phoebe started to get up, untangling from the sheets and searching the room. "You think she left," she nervously asked Piper who still sat in the messy bed.

"She promised she wouldn't leave without telling me," Piper desperately said, her hands tangling in her hair as her mind anxiously searched for a reason that Prue would break her promise. Now that she had seen her sister, she realised she was not ready to lose her again.

"Let's check downstairs," Phoebe suggested and before Piper could reply she was dragged out of bed by her sister's hand. They hurried down to the kitchen, almost without remembering to breathe. What if Prue was gone already?

As the twosome leaped into the kitchen, they were met by the most relieving and precious sight. By the kitchen table Prue sipped on a cup of what could only be coffee. Anyone who ever knew Prue knew that she was an early riser, and Piper could not help the faint laugh that escaped her lips. Prue was all ready for the day, wearing some of Phoebe's clothes and makeup. And to further bliss this moment, the breakfast table was shared with her husband and son.

"Good morning," Prue was the first one to say as she smiled. She was enjoying this, Piper could tell. She could feel Phoebe release a deep breath beside her before jumping into Prue's lap.

"Good morning," Phoebe happily said as she hugged Prue, who had managed to put the cup of coffee down before Phoebe's attack to prevent herself from spilling it all over the table. She let out a laugh as well though and hugged her sister back.

Piper shook her head at her sisters, feeling a familiarity with this situation. She then met eyes with Leo who was sitting on the other side of the table, his eyes ever so gentle as he met his wife's gaze in a quiet hello. "Morning," he smiled, and Piper instinctively went to him and let his arms wrap around her in an embrace, her arm snaking around his neck as she stood close to him. No words were needed, she knew he understood what this moment meant to her. Piper reached her hand out to Wyatt who was sitting in his chair between Prue and Leo, munching on a piece of banana. She smiled as her son grinned as he tried to grab hold of her hand with his sticky fingers. Piper gave him a flick on the nose and again the little boy grinned before he again started munching on the fruit.

Piper caught a glimpse of Prue as she held Phoebe in a similar embrace as Leo and hers, and the oldest brunette grinned. This was everything Piper ever wanted, and she knew in her heart that Prue also wanted that for her and was happy her sister could experience this moment.

"One big happy family," Piper quietly said as she slid down in the empty chair next to Leo, stealing a sip of her husband's coffee.
