All Hallows Eve

"Why did I agree?" He could have kicked himself. He had received the invitation a couple of weeks ago by one of his old friends, Mark Campbell. He was hesitant to accept, but Mark insisted. They hadn't seen each other in about 7 years. Mulder was excited to see his old friend again, but he'd rather meet one-on-one. But he was quite happy to hear from his long-time friend so he reluctantly agreed to come.

"A costumed party." He laughed at himself. "Dumbass!" he told himself. Mark had told him that one of his wife's friends had arranged this party with her family. She had also invited one of her close friends.

~What was her name again~ Mulder thought to himself. That's when Mark had thought to invite Mulder, as it wasn't that far away from Washington.

He looked at the folder in his hands and sighed, this was the perfect X-File: An abandoned 1840s Greek Revival Mansion in Barbour County Alabama, known as Cowan-Ramser house, strange noises had come from this house and activity rose this time of year. It was built as a private residence for one of Eufaula's earlies physicians, William Cowan. But last used as White's funeral home. This house was in the middle of a residential area, so there were a lot of witness statements.

He had asked Scully if she would be able to go, but she rolled her eyes at him and said "Really Mulder? A haunted house at Halloween?" and laughed as she added that she has prior family engagements, which were a Scully tradition.

The fact that she added that it was a family Scully tradition had intrigued him. He wanted to know more. He remember when his family last had a Halloween tradition. This was the last Halloween before Samantha was abducted. He remembered this day like it was yesterday. Of course he was dressed like Spock, Samantha had teased him about that. As he had teased her that she was dressed like Marcia Brady, he laughed at the memory of her wearing that cheap blonde wig. She was almost embarrassed to go trick-or-treating with him. Her friends had laughed at them, except one Sandy. But Mulder knew she had a crush on him back then. She had dressed like Cindy Brady. The girls asked them to join, but Mulder had found his friends. Mark was dressed like Captain Kirk. All his friends were dressed like Star Trek characters.

"Come back to this corner at 8pm Samantha!" he had insisted.

"I will." She'd smiled.

They winked at each other, knowing they had broken one of their parents' rules. But definitely didn't want to hang out with each other's friends. They had done it before, their parents had never found out. They were home at 8:30pm, with perfectly aligned stories. They may have teased each other relentlessly when it came to their parents, they were always one front. He truly missed his sister.

His phone ringing brought him back to his car. "Mulder!" as he got out of the car.

"Hey Mark! Am I excited for tomorrow?" he laughed "Excited is not the right word here."

He listened to his friend on the other end. "What package?"

That's when he saw a package next to his front door. "Hold on. There is something next to my door."

Mulder clenched the phone between his ear and shoulder. "Yup this is yours. Hold on.. hold on.. I'm trying to open the door with the package in my hand, you on the phone and some folders from work under my arm." He fidgeted trying to get the keys.

"Look Mark, I'll call you back in a couple of minutes. I can't get my keys out of my pocket." He hung up the phone, dropped the package and put the files on top of the package. He put his phone away and started patting all his pockets until he found his keys.

He opened his door and tried to scoot the package and files in with his foot. The package tumbled and the files scattered all over the floor. "Shit!"

He closed the door with his right leg, as he bends over and tries to pick up all the files. He placed the pile of files on the table as he mumbles "I'll sort that out later."

He flung his jacket off, rolled up his sleeves, picked up the package and put it on top of the files. With his keys still in his hands, he cut through the tape and opened the package. He started laughing as he took his phone from his jacket.

Mark picked up by saying "You like what you found?"

Mulder still snickering "Tell me you didn't?"

"Oh hell yeah." Mulder could hear the smile in Mark's voice.

"Are you serious about this? We're grown men!" Mulder tried reasoning.

"No way dude, it's a costumed event."

"Can't I just throw a sheet over my head?"

Mark nearly choked laughing "We're doing this! You might hook up. How long has that been?"

"Ouch.." Was Mulder's only reply.

"That long hey?"

Mulder didn't reply, so Mark continued "It'll be fun. Come on! For the good old times."

"Where's this party at?"

"YES! Don't worry about it. Jenna and I are picking up Ali and then swing around your place. We'll be there around 6:30, party starts at 7:30. It's about an hour drive."

~Alison! That was her name!~ Mulder thought to himself.

"Hey?" Mark got his out of his head.

"Yeah."

"I heard Sandy is also coming. She is one of the best friends of the guy arranging this evening."

Mulder laughed "Great!" the sarcasm dripping from his voice.

"So don't forget: tomorrow evening, 6:30."

Mulder sighed "See you guys then."

Mulder checked his phone, hoping to see a missed call, that Scully might have changed her mind so he could get out of the entire thing tomorrow.

He dialled her number.

"Scully!" he voice was clear and chipper

"Scully, it's me. Am I interrupting anything?" as he heard noises behind her.

She laughed "Just putting my bags in my car, getting ready to leave. Hold on!"

He heard the trunk shut.

"Is there something wrong Mulder?" as he heard her shut her car door.

"Why would you think that?"
"Why else would you call?"

"I was just thinking about this case file here." He lied.

"What case?" she paused a second "Oh God Mulder, not the haunted house case?"

"It is quite interesting." He tried to object.

"Interesting? What are we 15? I'm not exploring haunted houses. I haven't had a free weekend in what feels like forever. I am going to enjoy my family time."

"No of course as you should." He muttered. "It's just fascinating."

"I promise you Mulder, we'll go ghostbusting another time. Just not this weekend."

"Have a great weekend, send my love to your mom and Tara.." he lingered a second " and my regards to Bill."

Scully snickered "Will do! Have a great weekend."

"You too, see you Monday."

"See you Monday."

She broke the connection as he stared at his phone for a second. "I tried." He muttered as he slid all the files towards him. "First this mess."

Mulder tried to postpone getting ready for the party as long as he could. But as the clock hit 6pm, he knew he had to get ready. He put on his costume, he felt so ridiculous. A grown man dressed up. He quickly filled an overnight bag with jeans and a clean shirt.

There was a knock on his door.

"You're early." He said when opening the door.

Mark held up the ears "I know, but I realised I forgot to send these."

"No!"

"Oh heck yeah."

That's when Jenna and Ali walked in. "Sorry Mulder, he was on about it all day."

"Hey Jenna." He gave a slight peck on her cheek "You look nice Commander Uhura." He smiled.

"He made me do it." She laughed.

"Now I feel out of place." Alison extended her hand "Hi I'm Alison." Alison was dressed like a witch.

"Mulder." As he shook her hand "You look nice though." Mulder was surprised to see how tall she was. ~She must be around 5'9 at least.~ he thought to himself.

"Thanks. But Now I feel out of place." She laughed.

"By the way, where are we going?" Mulder turned to Mark.

Mark quickly pressed on one of the ears.

"Did you just glue that on my ear?"

"Chesapeake Beach and yes I did. Now you have to put the other ear on too."

Jenna hit Mark on his arm "Mark! You jerk! You should have asked if he wanted the ears."

Mark faked being hurt "He wore the ears then too. It has to stay authentic."

"Yes Captain Kirk." As she rolled her eyes.

Mark glued the second ear on. "We're ready to go now."

The ladies decided to sit in the back of the car. Jenna hadn't seen her friend in a long time and neither did Mark and Mulder.

Jenna and Alison chatted away. Mulder side eyed Alison, she was pretty. He wondered what colour her hair was underneath the purple wig.

"She is pretty, right?" Mark whispered.

"She is attractive." Mulder replied neutrally.

"But?"

"But nothing." He smiled "How have you been doing?" he quickly changed the subject.

"Ah changing the subject are we? I've been good man. Miss our games though."

Mark and him had been shooting hoops ever since they were kids, he wondered why they'd stopped doing that. They don't far apart, not around the corner but not far apart.

"Me too, why did we ever stop shooting hoops?"

"Time. Man you're always on a case and when you have time I'm on a business trip. But we should play ball soon."

"Agreed. Just need to get our schedules to align." They both laughed.

They arrived a little over 7:30.

The venue was well done. Mark handed the invitations.

"I've never been to a Halloween party needing an invitation." Alison smiled at Mulder as she looked around "But I can see why. The family did an amazing job."

The place looked spooky. ~I fit right in here.~ Mulder laughed to himself. The room was dark, lit by only fake candles. The room was a perfect description of what Halloween should be. Mulder had forgotten how much he used to like Halloween.

Mulder turned to Mark "How did you get the invitations?"

"Like I said, Jenna knows the woman whose family arranged this. They're long-time friends."

Mulder looked around "But this looks more like a paid charity party."

"Oh it is. It's for cancer awareness. Someone in the family went through cancer treatment. Luckily they made it through."

"Good charity. Thanks for the invite."

"You're welcome, now put on this." He gave Mulder a black eye mask as he put on his own eye mask "I just heard that this is supposed to be part of the fun." He winked.

Mulder laughed.

"Come on ladies. Let's get something to drink." Mark opened his arm, so his wife could lock on to it. Mulder did the same for Alison. She locked her arm in his.

"So happy I'm not the only one among all the couples here." She smiled.

Mulder felt the same, he would have felt horrible walking around her alone. "Same." He smiled. "What would you like to drink?" as he hands her a menu.

Alison laughed at the names of the drinks as she read out loud "This is so funny and brilliant. Witch Blood Wine, Bourbon butter Beer, Pumpkin Spice White Russian, etc." she smiled at Mulder "Which one?"

"Is Bourbon butter Beer just beer?" he smiled.

"No I think the Beetlejuice beer is regular beer. I'm having the Pumpkin Spice White Russian."

Mulder ordered their drinks, when he turned around to give Alison her drink she noted that the room filled up.

Mulder looked around, seeing all these adults in costumes made him more at ease at his own costumes. There was a vast variety of costumes, from witches, vampires, to people dressed as the elderly. So far he hadn't seen another Spock, but he had spotted another Captain Kirk. Everyone was wearing either a face mask, he looked at the guy dressed as the phantom of the opera and the woman besides him, she was dressed in a renaissance dress with matching face mask and others were wearing the same eye mask as he was.

"Some of these costumes are amazing." Alison noted.

"Yeah. It's incredible." That's when his eyes landed on Princess Leia. The 1977 white dress with tight belt, her hood was up.

Alison followed his eyes "Oh she looks incredible."

As if she felt it, Princess Leia turned around and looked in their direction. Both turned to face each other with red cheeks.

"You think she saw us?" Mulder laughed.

"We were busted man." She smiled.

Mulder peaked over his shoulder to have one more look, she was still looking at them. Her dark hair in two buns to each side of her head. This wasn't just a cheap costume. She looked like the real deal. Her eye mask matched perfect with her costume. She turned when someone touched her elbow.

Alison gasped.

"What is it?" Mulder followed her eyes.

"Oh I am going to sound so geeky, so I apologize in advance, but there are stormtroopers and Darth Vader here?"

Mulder watched the people around Leia "Yeah pretty well thought of."

Alison hit his shoulder "Are you kidding me?"

Mulder had a shocked look on his face "What?"

"Did you see the movies?"
"Yes I have. But it has been some time."

"But you weren't a fan." Alison looked annoyed "You're a Trekkie."

"To be honest.. " Mulder started.

"The only thing you remember is Princess Leia in her bikini?" she rolled her eyes at him "We all remember her!"

Mulder chugged his beer. "Sorry."

Alison laughed "So what do you do for a living Mulder?"

"Mark didn't tell you?" he asked as she shook her head sipping her White Russian. "I'm an FBI agent."

She whistled "An FBI agent? I'm impressed. What division?"

Mulder laughed "You really want to know?"

"That weird?"

"My partner and I investigate the paranormal."

He'd expected her to freak out. "Oh really? And is there a lot of evidence supporting your research?"

"Well my partner doesn't think so. But yeah we've come across some things. So what do you do?"

Alison looked at her feet "Nothing as interesting as your job." She looked up "I own my own PR firm."

"Is it hard being a woman in the PR business?"

"I can hold my own." She smiled. "You wanna dance?"

"I can't .. I don't .." Mulder stumbled his words "I am not really good at dancing."

"Neither am I. Come on." As she pulled him to the dance floor.

After the first 2 dances, Mulder spotted Leia in the corner of his eye. She was dancing with a vampire.

"You can't take your eyes off of her either can't you?" Alison smiled "I keep looking at her too."

Mulder looked surprised at her.

"Mark didn't tell you didn't he?"

Mulder's confused look entertained her as she laughed.

"Yeah, Mark keeps trying to fix me up with his friends. Jenna has told him I'm gay, but for some reason this doesn't stick with him."

Mulder smiled a relieved smile.

"Ouch!" she said "Am I that ugly?"

"No.. oh I'm.. oh God no.. sorry." He stumbled as Alison started laughing. "No Alison, I didn't mean it like that. Even when we were younger Mark always tried to hook me up. The only time he didn't was when he knew I was dating someone. And.."

"And you're already interested in Princess Leia." She smiled.

"No that's not it."

"But you are already interested in someone."

He looked at her with the same confused look in his eyes "You're mistaken, I'm not interested in anyone."

"Well your eyes tell a different story." She gave him a smug smile "So do you mind if I try out Princess Leia first then?"

Mulder smiled "Go ahead and I'm really not interested in anyone."

"Keep telling yourself that Dr. Spock." She smiled.

"It's mister."

"What?"

"It's mister Spock, not doctor Spock."

Alison laughed "I guess you're a geek as well. I'm going to try and get a dance with the princess. Wish me luck."

"I'll be at the bar if you need me. Good luck."

"Hey. Cool costume! Are you a Star Wars fan?"

"Hi. Oh my admirer from afar." The tiny woman laughed. "You and your date were looking at me from.." she looked towards the bar "Where he is standing right now."

"He is not my date!" she held up her hands "We were both invited by friends of ours. And seeing as they are married, we kinda only have each other here. And I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your costume as I am a huge Star Wars fan. I'm .."

Leia held up her hand "No names until midnight. I'm Leia."

"Well I guess I'm Blair."

Leia laughed. "Nice to meet you Blair. Can you tell me why Spock keeps staring at me?"

Alison followed Leia's stare to where Mulder was standing.

"Is he jealous you're talking to me?" Leia smiled.

"No I think he's an admirer, I think he's not jealous of you, but of me." She smiled "But I know he has interests in someone else. He just won't tell me who that is."

Leia laughed "Men!"

"So would you like to dance?" Alison just shot her shot.

Leia looked surprised.

"That look says enough. I'm sorry I've taken up your time."

"No, no.. I don't mean to be disrespectful. I was just taken aback by your question. I don't mind dancing with you, but I have to be honest."

"It's just the dance." Alison smiled. "I get it, Leia was also into Han Solo."

"Exactly." Leia smiled.

"Hey sis."

Leia turned around "Luke!"

"It's time to welcome our guests."

"Rain check?" Leia smiled at Alison.

"I'll keep you to it." As she walked back to Mulder.

Mulder watched the whole conversation go down. There was something about Leia. He never felt so directly attracted to anyone before. Well.. only once, but he knew that would never happen.

Leia was mesmerizing. He saw Alison get rejected and felt a spark of hope.

A guy, looking like Luke Skywalker, called Leia away.

Alison quickly joined him.

"And?" he asked.

"Princess Leia is looking for her Han Solo."

"Sorry."

"For what? You'd be surprised how many times this has happened. But I've learned that I really need to take my shot if I am into someone."

Mulder just nodded, wishing he had the balls to make any shot. Especially with Scully.

Luke started talking.

"Good evening everyone. Thank you for being here tonight. As you all know this evening is also for cancer awareness. Some people win and some people lose the battle and all proceedings will go towards the cancer foundation. On behalf of my family I'd like to thank you all for being here and contributing to this amazing charity. If you have any donation or questions about the charity. Every stormtrooper here can help. My family and I will walk around. But most of all, have a wonderful spooky evening." Luke finished his speech.

Mulder was watching every move Luke made.

"You know him?" Alison whispered in his ear.

"I don't know, his body language seems familiar." He whispered back.

People started applauding, Mulder and Alison joined in.

Mark and Jenna joined Alison and Mulder. Mulder stood to the side, he was never into small talk. He was trying to find Princess Leia, but she was lost in the crowd. ~I should have come as Han Solo!~ he thought to himself. But he knew Alison was right, he wasn't big into Star Wars, he was a true original Trekkie.

"Pennie for your thought." Mark laughed. "You enjoying yourself?"
"Yeah man, this is a nice evening."

"Look who we found."
"Hi Fox."

The hairs in the back of his neck stood up and not in a good way. "It still Mulder Sandy." He smiled. "How have you been doing?"

Sandy was dressed like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz with matching eye mask, but Mulder recognized her voice like he had talked to her every day for the last year.
"I've been fine. And you?"

"Good, all is good."

"So you feel like dancing?" She asked him.

That's when he saw her, she walked by him, she glanced at him from the corner of his her eye. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her.

"Okay I can take the hint, nice seeing you again Fox." Annoyance filled her voice.

"Mulder." Was all he muttered as he walked off in the direction of Princess Leia.

Spock was tall and handsome. She tried following him everywhere he walked but she had lost him in the crowd.

"Hey sweetie. Are you having a good time?"

"Great mom, this was indeed a night I needed. No work. Luke did a great job with the costumes this year." She winked at her mother. "Still can't believe he talked his wife into being C3PO." She laughed.

"Be happy he didn't make your brother be Han Solo." Her mother laughed.

"Still don't know who you are supposed to be."

"Probably support actor number 8."

The women laugh.

"Have you seen Mr. Spock running around here?" Leia asked.

"I've seen about 3 Mr. Spocks."

"Oh."

Her mother nodded towards the bar "But I think you're talking about that Mr. Spock. I saw him looking at you and I saw you looking back at him. It's good for you to have your mind off of work for once and on to the dance floor."

"Mingle!" Luke said while he walked past the women.

The women laughed as Leia said "We will oh wise Jedi."

That's when she spot him, walking about 2 feet behind her. She ignored him as she past Darth Vader. Who stopped her.

"Leia, I am your father." He said as she laughed.

"This is confusing. I thought you were my brother."

"I think you have an admirer following you."

"You'd think he'd follow the other Leia walking around here."

"The one in the bikini?"

"Well duh.."

"Yeah I tried to hit on her, but it was too weird for her. Her father hitting on her." He belched a laugh.

"You will never change." She rolled her eyes.

"Should I?" he seriously asked

"Please don't." she smiled up at him.

"You want me to get rid of Spock here?"

"No.. I'm not intimidated, I'm flattered to be honest. He isn't the first to hit on me."

"Well you make a lovely Leia. But a Trekkie sis? Really?"

She just laughed, knowing it was actually his idea for the Star Wars costumes. He'd always been a huge Star Wars fan ever since he saw the first movie.

He squeezed her hand as he walked off. Intentionally bumping shoulders with Mulder as he walked past him.

Mulder got the message, but wasn't about to back off.

"You know it's not polite to follow a lady around, do you?" She spoke in a fake British accent.

He tried to make his voice sound as much like Spock as he could. He lowered his voice and spoke in an atonic voice to try to mimic Leonard Nimoy.

"I am sorry, miss. But seeing your beauty from afar, I had to see it up close." For a moment he saw her blush.

"I'm Leia."

"I'm Spock."

"Welcome to our Halloween party."

"Your family has arranged this party?"

"My brothers did." She smiled "I just showed up and got dressed."

That's when they locked eyes, her brown eyes staring into his green eyes. She quickly stepped back in shock.

"I've got to go. Mingle." As she turned around and walked off.

Mulder stood there watching her leave and feeling very confused. That's when Alison bumped into him.

"Oh Sorry." She turned to face him "Mulder! I mean Spock!"

Mulder looked at her dance partner and smiled "Good catch."

"This Leia was interested in dancing."

"The bikini Leia." Mulder looked her up and down.

"Eyes in the sockets Spock!" she laughed "I saw you talking to Leia any luck?"

"Maybe, I don't know. There was something familiar about her. You two have fun." As he turned to where he saw Leia leave.

Mulder ended up at the bar again. Hoping to spot her from there. Time had flown by almost 11pm and he still hadn't spot her, let alone danced with her.

That's when he spot her at the other end of the bar. She was drinking wine.

When he arrived at her end of the bar, there was no way for her to leave.

"So Princess, would you like to dance?"

She looked confused "Sorry?"

"Would the Princess like to dance with the Vulcan?" He grinned his most charming grin. "Please?" as he extended his hand.

She couldn't say no, she had danced with many people as her brother had requested. "Thank you." As she took his hand.

When they hit the dancefloor the DJ put on a slower paced song. She had intended to try to keep as much distance as possible, as he pulled her close to him.

"You're smaller than I thought. But you look a lot like the real Princess Leia."

"I'm actually 2 inches taller than she is." She smiled up at him for a second. As she placed her head on his chest. He smelled amazing, a mixture of aftershave and sweat.

She felt so familiar in his arms, her tiny body against his, her head on his chest. This felt new but her presence felt familiar.

She could stay there forever fand had no clue of how long they'd been dancing when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Come on Leia, we have to fight our father." Luke stood behind her.

"Do we really have to?" she sighed.

"People paid for this Leia!"

She looked up at Spock. "Rain check?"

"I'll be waiting." He smiled.

Mulder laughed at the act that started at 11:30. Leia and Luke fighting Darth Vader. They'd done their best to make it entertaining. The act lasted about 10 min and that's when she found him again.

They started dancing again as the slow music continued.

"The idea is to take off our masks in 20 min." she explained to him.

"Can't wait to see your face." He smiled.

She looked up at him as he looked down at her. Before she knew it, she'd locked her lips with his. Her tongue exploring his mouth as she felt his hands pull her closer. His tongue dancing with hers.

He felt himself grow hard as she pulled away.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. That was…" she looked at him

"Amazing." Was all he could mutter as he caressed her face with his thumb. Her skin felt like satin under his thumb. He imagined Scully's skin would feel the same way.

The thought of Scully made him pull back. In some way he felt like he was betraying her even though he knew he wasn't.

"I'm not usually like this." She apologised.

"Neither am I. But you've just put a spell on me." He winked.

"Maybe I have, I have the force with me." She smiled looking at his lower lip, wanting to bite it as he licked his lower lip.

That's when Vader grabbed her elbow. "You ready sis?"

"No."

"Too bad, we're doing this now. Sorry man." As he pulled Leia away.

"it's okay. Will I see you after?"

She shrugged "Don't know."

"I'll be at the bar." he said as he winked at her. "Hope to see you there."

She just smiled at him, knowing she wouldn't be back.

Midnight came as the family had once again interrupted the music.

This time Darth Vader took the lead. "Moment of truth ladies and gentlemen. It's time to remove our masks to reveal our true selves." As the lights all went on.

Mulder watched Leia nervously fidget around as Darth Vader started the countdown.

When he reached one, he removed his mask. He quickly looked at Vader, then looked at Luke and C3PO and his jaw dropped. He kept his eyes on Leia as she slowly removed the hood and then her mask. Confusion was all he felt as someone next to him elbowed him.

"Take off the mask man."

He took off his mask as he watched the woman next to Leia take off her mask and that's when he knew. How could he not have seen it or even felt it before? Had she know who he was? Or was it just a random hook-up for her? His mind was all over the place.

She looked up at him and for a second. He was so confused. Bill followed his sister's eyes as he saw Mulder, his face changed. Mrs. Scully on the other hand was delighted to see him as she waved at him. He slightly waved back.

Then he turned around and asked for another beer. Mark came behind him.

"it looked like you were enjoying yourself." He winked "You hooked up with Leia! You know she is the sister of the host."

"I'd figured that much." He put the beer bottle against his lips and took a big swig.

"Jenna told me that Tara had told her the Scully's have always had the best Halloween parties. It had just stopped for a while. Happy the parties are back on." He smiled.

Mulder didn't know he should be happy he just kissed Scully or depressed that she didn't know it was him. He was so confused.

"I'll find the women and we can head home."

Mrs. Scully was the first to greet him "Fox!" She greeted him with a great smile.

"Hello Mrs. Scully."

"I didn't know you were going to be here. Did Dana invite you?"

"No, a friend of mine was invited and he asked me to come along."

"You look great!"

"So do you." He smiled "I just couldn't figure who you were."

"Neither could I." They both laughed.

He just hoped that she didn't see him make out with her daughter.

"Have you seen Dana yet?"

That's when Scully joined them.

"Hi." Was all she muttered.

"Hey."

Why did it feel so weird between them?

Mrs. Scully excused herself.

They just stood there. Looking at each other. Neither one willing to break the silence.

"Did you know it was me?" Scully finally broke the silence.

"No. Did you?" Mulder silently waited her reply.

Scully looked at her feet "I figured it when you looked into my eyes the first time. I thought you'd figured it too."

"Scully you don't have brown eyes. Your eyes are as blue as the Atlantic ocean. You even spoke in a British accent."

Scully could have kicked herself, she didn't realise she was still wearing the brown contacts. "I thought you knew it was me."

Mulder finished his beer. "Nope." He saw Mark walking towards him. "Here's my ride, I'm outta here."

She grabbed his hand "Please talk to me."

He looked at her hand on his hand. "Mark and his wife are my ride. I don't have a car with me."

"Mulder we need to talk about this."

He rubbed his temples as he looked at her. Her face was different than he was used to, she really pleaded with him.

"Dana right?" Mark extended his hand "I'm Mark, my wife Jenna is friends with Tara. You coming Mulder?"

Scully shook his hand "Hi Mark." She looked at Mulder.

He sighed "I need my bag from your car Mark, I'm getting a motel here."

Mark looked from Mulder to Scully and smiled "Sure, you kids enjoy your time."

When Mulder walked back in with his bag, he met with Charlie.

"So you're the infamous Mulder." He laughed at Mulder's confused face "I'm Charlie, Dana's baby brother."

"Hey Charlie, your sister has told me about you. Nice to meet you."

"My sister, mother and brother have told me about you too." He laughed.

"If Bill has told you stories about me, I'm worried." Mulder laughed.

Charlie laughed "I know my brother, trust me."

Scully joined them. "What have you been telling him Charlie?"

"Nothing!" he threw his hands up "I wouldn't dare."

He turned to Mulder "How do you put up with her all day long?"

Scully smacked his shoulder "I'm standing right here!"

"I know." He laughed.
Mulder enjoyed the interaction between brother and sister. It reminded him of Samantha and himself in their younger days.

"Come on Mulder." She pulled him aside.

"Dana?" Scully turned to face her mother.

"Yes mom?"

"I'm catching a ride with Charlie to the summer house he's rented. Are you okay driving alone?"

"Mom, I have a room here. It'll be a 5 min drive. I will be fine." She smiled.

"Don't forget, brunch tomorrow at 11am."

"I won't mom." She kissed her mother "Good night."

"Good night Dana." Mrs. Scully turned to Mulder "Take care of her."

"Always Mrs. Scully." He automatically replied.
"I know." She smiled at him before waking off.

Mulder grabbed Scully's wrist. She looked at him. "Where am I staying tonight?"

"We could check the hotel for a free room." She smiled. "Come on let's go."

He watched her drive, he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

"We're here." She said while pulling up at the hotel.

Mulder looked at the sign 'Rod 'N Reel' "This looks nicer than any motels the FBI put us in." he laughed.

Scully licked her lips.

"What happened tonight?" he asked. "Did you know it was me?" he knew he shouldn't have taken that last beer, he hated when he got loose lips.

She sighed "Yes, I knew it was you when looked at me."

"Then why did you kiss me?"

"I didn't.." she weakly tried "I mean.. I don't know. Opportunity arouse and I took it. Maybe it was all the wine."

"I only saw you drink one wine."

Scully got out of the car. "Come on, let's see if I can get you are room."

Scully quickly walked out of his sight. He followed her while throwing his bag over his shoulder.

When he walked into the hotel, Scully stood at the desk, still looking like Princess Leia.

She turned to face him, she had a troubled look on her face.

"No rooms available?" he smirked.

"Stop smiling and yes there are no rooms available."

She stood close to him, he bend down, making her step back. He pulled her closer. "We could always share your room?"

He heard her swallow. "I don't know." Was all she muttered.

He took her hand "What's your room number?"

"14." She whispered as he pulled her towards the room.

They stopped in front of her door.

"What are we doing?" she asked Mulder.

"Finishing what you started." He softly pushed her against the door and kissed her neck "Put if at any time you want me to stop, just say so." He said while nibbling on her neck.

She was unable to speak as she felt his lips, tongue and teeth all over her neck. He wanted her as much as she wanted him. She pulled him away from her neck, looked him in the eyes. "What are we doing?"

"Do you want me to stop?" Was all he asked her.

"Yes.. No.. I don't know." Her head was spinning.

She turned her back to him as she opened the door, before she could walk in, het had put his arms around her waist as he whispered in her ear "If you want me to stop, tell me now. I don't want to stop, I want.. no I need you."

She pulled him in and pushed him on the bed. "I don't know what I want." She pulled of the wig, revealing her fiery red her. He felt even more aroused. She disappeared into the bathroom, as he sat up.

~Shit! I just messed everything up. Our partnership and our friendship.~

When Scully walked out of the bathroom, her hair was combed and the brown lenses were out but she was still wearing her costume.

She leaned into the door frame. "So you like this Leia as much as the other one?"

Mulder sat up straight "I think I prefer this Leia." He got up, walked towards her. She wasn't pulling away, so he figured he was doing something right. He placed his right hand on her left hip and slowly moved his fingers up her waist.

"If you want me to stop, just say so." He looked her deep in her eyes as she quickly looked to the floor.

Scully was never at a loss for words, but every inch of her side he was touching, burned no ached for him.

His hand reached her neck as he softly cupped her face and pushed it up to face him. He bend over his face inches away from hers. "If you want me to stop, I won't do anything you are not ready for."

She looked at him, still quiet.

He let go of her "I'm sorry. You're clearly not ready." He muttered as he turned around and walked towards the bed. He sat down on the bed, his head in his hands. "I'm sorry." He muttered one more time.

Scully finally found the ability to move and she slowly walked towards him. She pushed his face up by his chin. "I'm ready." She swallows "I've been ready for quite some time."

His eyes filled with what seemed like hope to her.

Both didn't move for what felt like forever. Until Scully stepped back. He felt a pit of disappointment grow in his stomach, she pushed back again.

Then in one swift move she removed her white dress. Mulder's jaw dropped. She wasn't wearing a cotton bra and panty, but her body was as beautiful as he had so often imagined. No, her body was better than he had ever imagined.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting this." She stuttered.

"What?" he asked still mapping every inch of her body.

"I'm not wearing the set I'd imagined wearing when this happened." She apologised.

"You look absolutely perfect to me." He couldn't wait to explore every inch he had just mapped.

He watched her blush, in more places than he could imagine. He got up, keeping his eyes on her and stepped towards her. He softly kissed the top of her shoulder as he lower the strap of her bra.

"You're in an advantage here." She said with a cheeky grin as she hooked her finger in the waistband of his pants. She bit her lip after she said that.

"Well, we could do something about that." He wickedly smiled.

Mulder quickly undressed himself "Now we're even." As he inched closer to her. He felt the warmth of her skin on his. He softly caressed her shoulder, down to her hand. He watched her skin crawl and the tiny hairs stand up.

She softly kissed the patch of hair on his chest as her nails scratched is back. Her lips felt like fire on his chest, her nails felt like pure desire.

In one swift move he picked her up, she immediately clammed on to him with her legs. Her face to his, she licked her lip. He softly kissed her, licked the spot on her lip, she had just licked then he softly bit and pulled on her lip. He felt her gasp and then she kissed him, deep, hard and passionate. Her body pushed to his, her breast touching his chest. He'd never been kissed like that, never had he felt anyone lust after him like this.

She tightened her grip on him, he pulled her closer to his chest as he slowly took small steps backwards.

He fell backwards when he reached the bed, making them both giggle.

She sat up on his stomach, looking flushed but full of lust.

He reached around her back and unclasped her bra. He felt her tremor. "Are you sure you want this?" He asked one more time.

She slipped off her bra and bend over to softly kiss him "More than anything."

His hands started exploring, he felt every curve, inched every part of her soft skin.

She enjoyed his wondering hands, she placed her hands on his chest tracing his skin with her index finger.

He rolled her nipple between his finger as she arched her back at his touch, moaning deep from within. He sat up and took her other nipple in his mouth, her moaning turned into a growling. The deeper her growl, the harder he grew.

He moved his hand over her stomach, hooked his finger in the waistband of her panty, but waited for a moment. She sat up on her knees, giving him the permission he needed as he slowly slit his hand in and felt her wetness.

That's when there was a knock at the door.

"Dana?"

Scully turned white as a ghost another knock followed.

"Dana are you awake? I thought I heard some noise."

"Fuck!" Scully whispered under her breath.

"Hold on a second, I will be right there. I just came out of the shower."

Mulder looked puzzled as she shrugged and hissed at him "Get everything and go to the bathroom."

"Just a moment, putting on my pyjamas." As she searched for her pyjamas while throwing the Leia dress over a chair.

She slipped into her silk pyjamas and opened the door.

"Bill!" she said flustered "What are you doing here?"
"Jeezz Dana are you okay? It looks like you're running a fever!" Bill looked at her "Why isn't your hair wet?"

~shit~ she thought to herself.

"Well because I was just about to take a shower, I was standing here butt naked running around to get dressed because you decide to knock on my door at 1am!" she couldn't hide the annoyance in her voice.

Bill had pulled a face when she had stated that she was butt naked. He didn't want to think of his baby sister naked. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you leave and I just wanted to make sure you got in okay."

Scully felt guilty for telling her brother off, but also very annoyed as he had just interrupted the one thing she had been waiting for for years.

"Shall Tara and I pick you up tomorrow morning to drive to the brunch?"

"No, I'll take my own car, I want to drive back to town after the brunch. Thanks for asking." She yawned extensively hoping Bill would leave.
"I get the message!" he put up his hands "Sleep tight." As he kissed her forehead.
"You really sweat a lot when you run around."

"Good night Bill. Give my love to Tara."

She closed the door softly and leaned her fore head against the door. "Shit, shit, shit.." she muttered. She felt like they had gone too far and crossed a line. Fear took over her heart, had they crossed the point of no return? Had she just ruined both their partnership and their friendship? Or had they just deepened their relationship? Doubt and fear filled her heart.

Mulder stood behind her, placed his hands on her shoulders as he gently kissed the top her head. "That was awkward." She heard the smile in his tone.

She couldn't help it but her body stiffened and he quickly pulled back..

"Are you having doubts?"

She leaned her forehead back on the door, her back still facing him, he shoulder slouched "Yes.. No.. I don't know. What are we doing here Mulder."

"I thought that was abundantly clear." He had a cockiness in his voice.

His tone annoyed her "Is it though Mulder? What if we ruin our friendship? Our work relationship? What if Bill knocking on the door was a sign we were doing the wrong thing?" she sighed.

He put his hand on her shoulder, slowly moving down until he reached her hand, gently pulling on it. Making her turn around to face him. "Did it feel wrong?"

A look of surprise came across her face. "What?"

"Did what we just did feel wrong to you in any way?"

She let the question sink in and slowly started to shake her head.

He went on "Maybe this wasn't the right time or place, but I do not regret anything. You don't want to know how many night I fell asleep with only you on my mind."

She arched her eyebrow "Oh? Really?"

"Yes really you can really drive me nuts, but every day when you walk in looking like you do it drives me crazy. Especially when you're wearing a pencil skirt, I just fantasize about your legs alone."

Scully started snickering.

"Don't laugh." He said dead seriously "I don't care if it's not happening tonight, I don't want to take it back. I don't regret a single second."

His eyes pierced through her soul. "I will wait for you, you are worth the wait."

Tears welled in her eyes. "I.." her voice a mere whisper "I don't regret tonight either. But Bill knocking did kill the mood for me. Will you really wait until I'm ready."

"Always. You are my one in five billion and I'll do anything for you."

She smiled. "Come on, let's get some sleep, we'll have to figure out how you'll get home tomorrow."

He smiled "This Halloween turned out better than I had anticipated."

She smiled as she slipped out of her pyjama bottoms and threw of her shirt. "Now we're equal." She said while crawling in the bed. "Want to join me?" She confidently asked, knowing Mulder wouldn't pursue her this night.

He jumped in the bed and pulled her back close to his chest as he whispered in her ear "You're worth the wait Dana, I love you."

The End
