Hi everyone, I wanted to finish this one sooner but I've been working through sickness (thankfully not covid) and it made it hard to write. But I finally got it ready to post. Enjoy.

Danny Phantom Pitch Meeting
Producer Guy "So you've got a cartoon for me?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yes sir I do, its called Danny Phantom and its about a teen superhero whose half ghost."
Producer Guy "Did you say half ghost?"
Screenwriter Guy "That's right."
Producer Guy "So what, his parent walked into a haunted house, met the met a ghost and they… you know?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh god no. Not that at all."
Producer Guy "Really?"
Screenwriter Guy "See theres this 14 year old kid called Danny Fenton whose parents the worlds leading experts on ghosts. They build this this portal to access this other dimension called the Ghost Zone where all the ghosts are."
Producer Guy "Why?"
Screenwriter Guy "Science reasons I guess. But the portal doesn't work, so Danny takes a look inside and accidentally presses the on button activating the portal."
Producer Guy "They designed the portal with the on button on the inside of it?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh Whoops."
Producer Guy "Whoopsie. So does Danny die?"
Screenwriter Guy "No. His DNA gets infused with ectoplasm and turns him into the half ghost superhero Danny Phantom."
Producer Guy "That's the name of the show."
Screenwriter Guy "It is. So now defends his hometown from evil ghosts that come through the portal while keeping his secret identity and trying to survive high school."
Producer Guy "Why not just shut down the portal to stop ghosts from coming over?"
Screenwriter Guy "So the show can happen."
Producer Guy "Of Course. So who else is in this thing?"
Screenwriter Guy "Well theres the rest of the Fenton family. Jack and Maddie Fenton, they're ghost obsessed scientists that always wear jumpsuits. Then theres Danny's older sister Jazz, shes really smart but is kind of a know it all."
Producer Guy "Sisters am I right?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah. Then theres Danny's two best friends Sam and Tucker. They know his secret and help him out like sidekicks. Sam is a goth girl from a rich family and she and Danny has a will they won't they thing going on and Tucker is a tech wiz who can hack into stuff with his PDA."
Producer Guy "Oh PDAs are awesome, its like holding a little computer in your hand."
Screenwriter Guy "They are cool."
Producer Guy "Get this, some guy tried to get me to invest in this scam for this thing called an eye phone. Basically it's a phone and computer in one that has no buttons, apparently you just touch the screen directly."
Screenwriter Guy "No buttons? That's just crazy."
Producer Guy "Yeah. Thank god I didn't invest in that. I mean can you imagine?"
Screenwriter Guy "Good call sir."
Producer Guy "So does Danny have superpowers?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah. He can fly, turn invisible, pass through things and has super strength. But at the start he doesn't have great control so sometimes he turns invisible or phases through something by accident."
Producer Guy "Man I hate when that happens."
Screenwriter Guy "What do you mean?"
Producer Guy "Well where do you think that big me shaped hole in the wall came from?" He points to a large hole, that somehow resembles the outline of a human body, that had been smashed through the wall.
Screenwriter Guy "I was wondering about that. But Danny doesn't smash through stuff, he phases through it. You know like a ghost."
Producer Guy "Oh that sounds much less expensive."
Screenwriter Guy "It is, and as the show goes on he'll develop new powers like shoot ghost energy beams and overshadowing people, which is like possession."
Producer Guy "Very cool."
Screenwriter Guy "He even has a ghost sense which alerts him when other ghosts are near. Its like Spider-Mans spider sense."
Producer Guy "Who?"
Screenwriter Guy "Spider-Man. Hes a superhero from Marvel comics."
Producer Guy "Sounds familiar. Wasn't there a movie about him a couple years ago?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah I saw it, it was awesome!"
Producer Guy "That's great but I seriously doubt that franchise is gonna go anywhere. I mean a series of Spider-Man movies, can you imagine?"
Screenwriter Guy "Actually I can and it sounds fantastic."
Producer Guy "Well then you're a big dumb idiot."
Screenwriter Guy "Ow my feelings."
Producer Guy "So tell me more about the show."
Screenwriter Guy "Well Danny says "Going Ghost!" Then he transforms into his ghost form."
Producer Guy "Whats that look like?"
Screenwriter Guy "Exactly like his human form, but his black hair turns white and his blue yes turn green."
Producer Guy "That's it?"
Screenwriter Guy "Pretty much."
Producer Guy "His real name is Danny Fenton and his superhero name is Danny Phantom. Does no one notice the similarities?"
Screenwriter Guy "Nope, infact its gonna be a joke a couple of times."
Producer Guy "Man it must be next to impossible to hide his secret from his parents since their expert ghost hunters."
Screenwriter Guy "Actually super easy, barely an inconvenience."
Producer Guy "Oh really?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah they never notice a single thing, and I mean ever."
Producer Guy "The worlds leading experts on ghosts don't realise their own son is half ghost?"
Screenwriter Guy "Nope, its gonna be a funny gag throughout the series."
Producer Guy "But don't they have equipment that can detect ghosts or something?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh they do. In fact theres gonna be like three times where equipment like that focuses on Danny, and one time even says hes a ghost, but they just assume its broken."
Producer Guy "Everytime?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yep. Infact Danny often burrows some of their equipment to fight ghosts."
Producer Guy "What other kinds of inventions have they created."
Screenwriter Guy "There are the Ghost Gauntlets that ghosts cant phase out of and can help you punch real hard. The spectre deflector, a belt that shocks any ghost that touches the person wearing it. Then theres the most used invention, the Fenton Thermos."
Producer Guy "Did you say thermos?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah, yeah, yeah. It fired a beam that sucks in ghosts and traps them. After Danny defeats ghosts he sucks them in so he can send them back to the ghost zone."
Producer Guy "So the ghosts need to be weakened before they can be caught in the thermos?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh no they could be sucked in right away."
Producer Guy "Then why fight them? Why not just trap them in thermos immediately?"
Screenwriter Guy "Cause then the episodes would be like five minutes long."
Producer Guy "Of course. So what kind of ghosts does Danny fight?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh theres a lot of them. Theres Skulker, hes a hunter with a high-tech battle suit, but hes actually just a small green blob ghost."
Producer Guy "Unexpected."
Screenwriter Guy "Then there Technus, he can possessed and control technology and tends to shout out his plans."
Producer Guy "Bad guys do that sometimes."
Screenwriter Guy "Then theres the Box ghost. Hes yells beware and is obsessed with boxes."
Producer Guy "That's it?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah hes really more of just for laughs villain."
Producer Guy "Does Danny have an arch nemesis? Superheroes need arch enemies."
Screenwriter Guy "He sure does. This billionaire called Vlad Masters, and hes a Half ghost two and calls himself Vlad Plasmius."
Producer Guy "Oh tell me more."
Screenwriter Guy "See Vlad was best friends with Jack and Maddie in college, where Jack build a tiny Ghost Portal prototype. But it didn't work and blasted him in the face and he ended up with ghost powers two."
Producer Guy "Both got their powers the same way, perfect arch enemy formula."
Screenwriter Guy "Plus this was twenty years ago, so not only are Vlads powers way stronger, hes got ones Danny doesn't have yet. Like creating clones of himself and ecto energy constructs."
Producer Guy "Oh that's not good."
Screenwriter Guy "So he used his powers to make his fortune, has a secret lab where he built his own ghost portal and now he wants revenge on Jack, because he lost his chance with Maddie who he still has the hots for."
Producer Guy "Oh having the hots for your arch enemies mom is tight!"
Screenwriter Guy "Wait what?"
Producer Guy "Yeah… I heard it as I was saying it."
Screenwriter Guy "It was super weird."
Producer Guy "So are there any friendly ghosts or are they all evil?"
Screenwriter Guy "On no there are some Casper like ghosts two."
Producer Guy "Who the hell is Casper?"
Screenwriter Guy "The… the friendly ghost?"
Producer Guy "Yeah, I'm asking are they all evil or are there are any friendly ghosts?"
Screenwriter Guy "Uh… yeah. Theres Frostbite, hes the leader of these yeti like ghosts that see Danny as the Great One. They all have ice powers and later teach Danny to use them two."
Producer Guy "Very cool. Oh wait will there be puns?"
Screenwriter Guy "More like witty banter."
Producer Guy "Close enough. So how do all these ghost powers work?"
Screenwriter Guy "Inconsistently."
Producer Guy "Oh really?"
Screenwriter Guy "Theres this one ghost Ember McLain who plays a guitar to hypnotise people and she becomes more powerful when people chant her name, but it never comes up after her first appearance."
Producer Guy "Um, okay."
Screenwriter Guy "Then this one time Danny accidentally flies through this invention that separates his human half and his ghost half but then the ghost half just flies back into him and everythings fine. But in a later episode he does it on purpose, and when his ghost half tries to fuse with him he just overshadows him."
Producer Guy "I don't understand?"
Screenwriter Guy "Don't worry about it."
Producer Guy "Okay I wont. So tell me more about the Ghost Zone?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh this place is crazy. Theres all these floating islands doors that lead to where certain ghosts live. And when humans go into the Ghost Zone they pass through everything like they were ghosts."
Producer Guy "How does that work?"
Screenwriter Guy "I don't know."
Producer Guy "Fair enough."
Screenwriter Guy "Also Earth and the Ghost Zone are connected. Meaning if one is destroyed, the other is destroyed two."
Producer Guy "Wow that's new."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah. So obviously this means theres no god."
Producer Guy "Wait what?"
Screenwriter Guy "Well the very existence of Ghost Zone and the ghosts that wind up there regardless of what kind of life they lived proves theres no heaven or hell."
Producer Guy shakes his head. "Okay no."
Screenwriter Guy "Whats the matter?"
Producer Guy "We cant have a kids show that talks religion, let alone disproving it. Parents wont let their kids watch it and then I wont be able to make money."
Screenwriter Guy "How else can we explain all this."
Producer Guy "Um, oh I've got it. We say the ghosts were never alive in the first place."
Screenwriter Guy "Never alive?"
Producer Guy "Yeah they're a different species, but some wanna be human so bad they make up back stories fro themselves."
Screenwriter Guy "But sir we have several ghosts that are quite clearly the spirit of someone who lived and then died. We have actual physical evidence of their existence as living people."
Producer Guy "Okay I see what your saying."
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah."
Producer Guy "So lets just compromise and do my thing."
Screenwriter Guy "That not a compromise but okay."
Producer Guy "Terrific. So what kind of stuff is gonna happen in the show?"
Screenwriter Guy "A surprising amount of character development."
Producer Guy "Really?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah, Dannys gonna get tired of responsibilities of being a hero and give up his powers a couple of times, but later gets them back and learns a lesson."
Producer Guy "Main characters gotta learn lessons. That's a rule."
Screenwriter Guy "Plus in the beginning no one really believed in ghosts, but then they become public knowledge. At First Danny Phantom is seen as just another evil ghost, but then people see him as a superhero."
Producer Guy "Oh that's a refreshing change."
Screenwriter Guy "Except for his parents who still try to vaporise him everytime they see him."
Producer Guy "Oh my god. Danny must be totally traumatised."
Screenwriter Guy "Actually no. Hes finds it pretty inconvenient, but that's about it."
Producer Guy "Your saying it doesn't effect his relationship with them at all?"
Screenwriter Guy "Uh," he looks through his notes, "not really no."
Producer Guy "Oh. Well, good for him I guess."
Screenwriter Guy "Then theres this girl Valerie. She started as a stereotypical popular mean girl, but after Danny accidentally caused her dad to lose her job and their money/lifestyle. Then Vlad gives her ghost hunting gear and she starts trying to kill Danny."
Producer Guy "Oh that's not good."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah, but while shes trying to kill Danny Phantom, she and Danny Fenton start having feelings for each other."
Producer Guy "Oh man its super awkward when the girl your dating is trying to kill you. Trust me I know."
Screenwriter Guy "Sir, your seeing someone whose trying to kill you?"
Producer Guy "Yeah, last week she shot at me with a crossbow."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh my god."
Producer Guy "Yeah…. But shes really pretty and smart. You know she actually made the crossbow herself."
Screenwriter Guy "The crossbow she tried to kill you with?"
Producer Guy shrugs "Eh, relationships are complicated."
Screenwriter Guy "Uh… okay. Also Jazz finds out Dannys secret so she starts helping first just covering for him then more directly."
Producer Guy "Back up is always good."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah and Vlad becomes Mayor of Amity Park."
Producer Guy "Oh he does?"
Screenwriter Guy "Remember how I said he can duplicate himself?"
Producer Guy "Yeah?"
Screenwriter Guy "Well he makes like over a hundred copies of himself to overshadow people to make them vote for him."
Producer Guy "He can make that many?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah, but to do it they were just these shadow like things and Vlad was severely weakened afterwards."
Producer Guy "Still though, something like that would let control almost anything."
Screenwriter Guy "He'll never do it again."
Producer Guy "Nevermind."
Screenwriter Guy "So some episodes are gonna be driven by Danny and his friends dealing with Vlads evils plots."
Producer Guy "Oh bad guys love plotting."
Screenwriter Guy "They sure do."
Producer Guy "What kind of plots are we talking about?"
Screenwriter Guy "The kind that backfire horribly."
Producer Guy "Oh really."
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah like one time he frees this weather controlling ghost called Vortex to end a heat wave and get good publicity, but Vortex is to powerful to control and starts causing extreme weather all over the globe."
Producer Guy "Yikes that is bad."
Screenwriter Guy "This other time he tries to steal of powerful artefacts and ends up releasing Pariah Dark, the King of all ghosts."
Producer Guy "The king of all ghosts?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah and let me tell ya this guy is scary. When he wakes up every other ghost leaves the zone to get away from him and he invades the town with an army of skeleton ghosts and then teleports the whole town into the Ghost Zone."
Producer Guy "Didn't you say when humans are in the Ghost Zone, they become the ghosts and they just phase through everything?"
Screenwriter Guy "That's right?"
Producer Guy "So would being in the Ghost Zone actually make everyone safer cause the ghosts couldn't touch them?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh dang it I totally forgot about that. Well I already wrote it so."
Producer Guy "Hopefully no one will notice.
Screenwriter Guy "Speaking of plots get this, Danny has another sister. Danielle Fenton, or Dani with an I, and shes a half ghost two."
Producer Guy "Another? Man they really need to put a safety rail on these ghost portals."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh no shes actually one of several clones of Danny created by Vlad."
Producer Guy "Cloning the hero, classic super villain tactic."
Screenwriter Guy "But her DNAs unstable and she gonna end up turning into a puddle of goo."
Producer Guy "Ew, sounds unsanitary."
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah so now Danny and in an unexpected twist, Valerie have to team up to save her from Vlad."
Producer Guy "Oh man, its gonna be hard for two teenagers who only know how to fight ghosts, to help save a ghost."
Screenwriter Guy says "Actually super easy, barely and incontinence."
Producer Guy "Oh really?
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah, Danny dad Jack was trying a serum that would weaken ghosts, but it ends up making them way stronger. So Danny uses it on Dani and shes cured."
Producer Guy "He tried to make something that hurts ghosts but ended up making something that strengthens them instead?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
Producer Guy looks "Are Dannys parents… good at their jobs?"
Screenwriter Guy "It varies."
Producer Guy "On what?"
Screenwriter Guy "On what I want to happen each episode."
Producer Guy "Okay then. What give this show a little more edge then other shows out there right now?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh I've got just the thing, whats the scariest thing to you?"
Producer Guy "My wife leaving me and the bottomless emptiness that would follow."
Screenwriter Guy "Oh… wow. No I meant for teenagers."
Producer Guy "Oh teenage me? That would be sharks."
Screenwriter Guy "No sir I mean the greatest fear for teenagers is their own future."
Producer Guy "I disagree, teenage me's future is awesome I have lots of money."
Screenwriter Guy "Ok, but Danny future is that he turns evil."
Producer Guy "Oh he does?"
Screenwriter Guy "Basically Dannys cheats on a test which results in his friends, family and teacher dieing in an explosion and hes sent to live with Vlad, who in a rare moment of humanity decides to help Danny with is pain and grief."
Producer Guy "So he gets Danny some therapy?"
Screenwriter Guy "No he uses the Ghost Gauntlets to separate Dannys ghost half from his human half."
Producer Guy "The Ghost Gauntlets?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh yeah they have these long retractable claws that can actually phases inside someone."
Producer Guy "Since when could they do that?"
Screenwriter Guy "Since I needed them to it for the story."
Producer Guy "Ok continue."
Screenwriter Guy "So the ghost half of Danny is really mad and uses the gauntlets to separate Vlads ghost half then tries to overshadow it. But then something terrifying happens."
Producer Guy "What?"
Screenwriter Guy "Math!"
Producer Guy looks horrified "Oh No!"
Screenwriter Guy "Half a ghost and half a ghost equals one ghost. And this one is super evil. He kills human Danny and flies off and starts destroying the world and the Ghost Zone."
Producer Guy "Why didn't he kill Vlad two?"
Screenwriter Guy "unclear."
Producer Guy "Okay then. So what happens?"
Screenwriter Guy "Well these floating eyeball ghosts called Observants want to stop Danny before he turns evil so they go to Clockwork, the master of time. Not only can he control time, he sees everything that will or could happen."
Producer Guy "Oh being the master of time is tight!"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get this, hes constantly shifting in age. Going from a kid, to an adult, to an old man and then to a kid again."
Producer Guy "Why does he do that?"
Screenwriter Guy "Time reasons? I really don't care. So Clockwork sends a couple of ghosts from the future to fight Danny which result in him getting the test answer and him, Sam and Tucker being brought to Clockworks home, where they fly through a portal into the future. Where they all meet evil future Danny"
Producer Guy "Oh this is very timey wimey stuff."
Screenwriter Guy "It is. So Sam and Tucker are able to get back to the past by removing their Time Medallions."
Producer Guy "Time Medallions?"
Screenwriter Guy "That's right. See if you wear one you're immune to Clockworks time powers."
Producer Guy "Where did they get those?"
Screenwriter Guy "Oh they were just hanging on the wall in Clockworks lair."
Producer Guy "He just left things that make people immune to his powers just hanging there for anyone to take?"
Screenwriter Guy "Apparently. But before Danny can escape, Dark Danny fuses the medallion inside of him so he cant escape. Then tosses him into the Ghost Zone, turns into his teenage self and used one of the time medallions to travel back to the past to make sure everything happens as before."
Producer Guy "He time travels? I thought the medallion protected people from Clockworks powers?"
Screenwriter Guy "Look sir, I'm gonna need you to get all the way off my back about how ghost time powers work."
Producer Guy "Okay let me get offa that thing."
Screenwriter Guy "Thanks. So Jazz tries to stop Dark Danny but he traps her, Sam, Jack, Maddie and Mr Lancer at the Nasty Burger and its about to blow up."
Producer Guy "Oh my god."
Screenwriter Guy "But that's when Danny returns after future Vlad helped him and he fights Dark Danny but his future self is way stronger."
Producer Guy "Oh man its gonna be impossible for Danny to beat him."
Screenwriter Guy "Actually super easy, barely an incontinence."
Producer Guy "Oh really?"
Screenwriter Guy "Yeah Danny uses this new power called a Ghostly Wail that lets him beat Dark Danny. And since Dark Danny didn't get that power until ten years in the future, its means the future can be changed."
Producer Guy "Oh this is heavy."
Screenwriter Guy "But then the Nasty Burger explodes."
Producer Guy "Oh my God!"
Screenwriter Guy "But Clockwork saves them all."
Producer Guy "Oh that was nice of him."
Screenwriter Guy "Then he gives Danny a chance not to cheat and Danny takes it, changing his future."
Producer Guy "Does he also warn people the Nasty Burgers gonna explode?"
Screenwriter Guy "Nah that's more a health and safety department thing."
Producer Guy "Uh… okay."
Screenwriter Guy "So Observants are mad Clockwork didn't do what they said, but he pretty much tells them to shove it and now hes watching of Danny and guarding the trapped Dark Danny now that he exists outside of time."
Producer Guy "Why didn't he just talk to Danny and show him the future and warn him to try and change the future?"
Screenwriter Guy "My back sir, please get off of it."
Producer Guy "Will do."
Screenwriter Guy "And yeah that's sums it up. So what do you think?"
Producer Guy "It sounds like a lot of fun I think people are really gonna like it."
Screenwriter Guy "Thank you sir. This is gonna be one of those cartoons that people are gonna remember for years."
Producer Guy "Fantastic."
Screenwriter Guy "Infact someday years from now, fans might even create an amazing crossover comic between Danny Phantom and another popular hero franchise."
Producer Guy "What?"
Danny Phantom and Ben 10 join forces in 5 Years Later. Created by The Ink Tank.
I hope you all enjoyed it. Let me know what other shows or movies your like to read a Pitch Meetings of.
