Dolores: write about a gossip (I had such a hard time choosing between Dolores and Luisa)
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
There was nothing that gave Parvati and Lavender more joy than eavesdropping and getting the latest gossip. They knew everyone thought Cho Chang and her friends were the one who had the inside information but it was really them, they were just more lowkey around it.
"Did you hear that first year wet his pants right before the ceremony?" Parvati squealed to Lavender as the two lied in their beds.
"That's hilarious!" Lavender chuckled. "Get this, the boy who lived next door to my parents was caught smoking, they were furious."
"Oh can it, who cares?" Faye Dunbar groaned across the room. She pressed her pillow over her head in a vain attempt to block out the gossiping.
"Party pooper," the Indian girl rolled her eyes, she didn't know what Faye was so grumpy for.
"Don't you two know that gossiping could hurt someone's feelings?" Hermione asked without looking up from her book. "You might hear something out of context and ruin someone's reputation."
"Oh nonsense." Lavender dismissed with a handwave. "We always get this straight from the source."
"I highly doubt that," the bookworm muttered under hear breath.
Parvati and Lavender often enjoyed lunches with Professor Trelawney who was easily both their favorite professor. They would have sandwiches and tea while the older woman would tell them of what was to come.
"You're in for failure," Lavender said smugly to Hermione after lunch one day. "The stars have said it."
Hermione, who in no way could even stand being in the same room as Professor Trelawney, slammed her book shut and demanded, "Oh, and which rumor mill did you hear that from? That batty old witch?"
Parvati gasped as Lavender hissed, "You're just jealous that you're not the best at something."
With Hogwarts being such a big castle, there was plenty of gossip to go around to Parvati and Lavender's delight. They even likened to calling themselves the gossip girls as childish as it may seem.
"Did you hear that Cho was caught mourning in the bathroom again?" A Ravenclaw girl was saying to her friends in the library.
"Really?" Another girl inquired as Lavender leaned in from the table next to theirs. "That's-" She cut herself off when she noticed the eavesdropper. Frowning, she gestured for her friends to pack up and leave.
"How rude!" Lavender pouted. "I really want to know." She turned to look to her best friend.
"Some people are so secretive," the raven hair girl agreed with a huff.
Two years later, Parvati looked over Lavender's cold form, tears welling up in her eyes. She and Professor Trelawney tried in vain to save the blonde from a werewolf but they were too late.
The gossip girls turned into the gossip girl.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed.
