Kotori was walking to the cherry blossoms herself. Kotori loved cherry blossom season. It was one of her favorite times of the year which wasn't apparent on her face as it was rather was sour and disappointed.

Sadly, she was alone. Yuma couldn't go and Cathy wouldn't answer her phone. It was just an inconvenient day for many of the people she knew. Was she just unlucky?

And, the cherry blossoms were at their prime right now, so she wanted to see them today. The day was so warm. She almost didn't need a jacket.

She had even decided to dressed in pink so that she could match the flowers. Well, she was dressed in pink most of the time anyway.

Kotori collected herself at the outskirts of the trees and endeavored to smile.

Why was she so bothered that no one was with her precisely? The trees were beautiful perfectly pink while swaying in the breeze as the sun finally shone through a large cloud. That was the reason she was here. Also, the trees weren't going anywhere. Yuma could see them later.

Yuma...

In any case, she wasn't truly alone as she was surrounded by a faceless crowd that milled around. Then, she noticed that there was someone she recognized at the edge of the trees.

He was dressed in purple and was surrounded by the wave of pink. The colors were a good blend. Even from this distance, she could smell the delicate fragrance of cherry blossoms.

At first glance, she knew that it was Shark.

She approached him. "Hi," she waved awkwardly.

He instantly approached her with a scowl.

"Where's Yuma?" he asked.

Of course. He was obsessed

Kotori smiled awkwardly. "He has some spring cleaning to do."

"Already? And it couldn't wait until later?"

"Apparently not."

It sounded as though she was lying even though she wasn't. After all, Yuma was the one who had caused the mess. Accidentally, of course. As retaliation, his grandmother and sister wanted him to clean it up. Personally.

"What about you?" Kotori asked.

"Just wanted to do something," Shark replied casually.

Just then, they had entered the awkward moment. Yuma wasn't here and there was no talk about dueling.

For once.

Without hesitation, Kotori took her chance.

"So, you want to grab a bite? Something to eat?"

Shark's eyes narrowed. "What? Is this like a date already?"

Crap.

Kotori stared fanning her hands around. "Oh, no like just to eat...together."

Her stomach then rumbled to echo her sentiment. How timely.

Shark continued to stare at her.

To her surprise, he nodded then. "All right. Let's go!"

Kotori swore that her heart skipped. He agreed!

Although, she did appreciate the company. It was more special to eat with someone even just as a friend.

He was so gloomy, but Kotori had a feeling could trust Shark. He wouldn't hurt her on purpose. He was a little grim, but maybe she could cheer him up. Maybe this could even be fun.

As they walked together, Kotori realized that she was blushing and hoped fiercely that he wouldn't notice.

As she looked at Shark, she noticed that his glare could melt the pavement, but the attention wasn't directed at her just at the world.

Before she knew it, Kotori was picturing themselves if they held hands. She couldn't get the image out of her head.

As Kotori walked by his side, she could smell salt. Sometime, Kotori found that he smelled like just the sea. She wondered why, but had never asked. What other reason to name yourself Shark if you didn't enjoy the seaside? And, he had all those shark monsters in his deck. That was something thy could talk about at least while they ate.

Sharks and birds didn't have a lot in common, but they still had to eat.
