A WISH COME TRUE

All I know is when it does come, it will be big!

Donnie couldn't get Grace's words out of her mind, what could be coming?

After all they had been through, from facing the original Evil Queen to going back in time and even going to an alternate future, what could be worse?

"Ever After to Donnie," Cedar waved her hand in front of her, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Something wrong?"

"I was thinking about something Grace said earlier, but maybe it's also the fact that tomorrow is Legacy Day."

"I understand, I am so nervous, I'm getting stress splinters," Cedar showed her arms. "But we will get through it, I know we will."

"I hope so Cedar."

Donnie applied her lip gloss and smiled as she looked at Cedar removing her splinters, "I'm so glad we met."

"I know, it feels like yesterday when we became dorm-mates."

"And with everything we have been through, it has brought us closer than some tales could ever get in years."

She pulled Cedar into a tight hug, tears about to rush out of her eyes.

"Ok, I have to go, don't want to get puffy eyes."

"Remember, be back by eleven, the Corridor Fairies will be checking every room."

"Don't worry, be back before you can say fairest."

"Fair-"

"Maybe spell it out a thousand times," Donnie joked and grabbed her phone.

It was eight-fifty when she made it to the base of the tower.

"Ten minutes to get up there, you can do it girl."

She began to summon the winds then stopped herself, the fairies would notice.

Walking it is

Groaning, she took off her shoes and began to make her way up, she wasn't about to do this again.

After what seemed like forever after, she reached the top, at the brink of sweating.

"Eight-fifty-nine, that… should… be… a…new record," she muttered to herself in between pants.

There he was, his back was turned but she knew he was wearing one of his favourite suits, this had to be the one with the bean tie. He turned around and upon seeing her, rushed to her side.

"Donnie, you made it right on time."

"This must be special, you are wearing the bean," she pointed at his tie.

"It is," he walked her to a table with an exquisite array of delicacies. Fairy lights danced around, and an orchestra was playing, although from where she did not know.

"How did I not see this?" she gasped.

"Perhaps you had your eyes on me," he smirked.

She nudged him, "Joker. On a serious note Jack, I can't believe you did this all for me."

"Why wouldn't I? You mean a lot to me."

She turned to him, planting a kiss on his lips, time somehow slowed down, the music acquired a whimsical rallentando.

"Wow, that was…wow."

"Cat got your tongue, sir."

"I believe he did, just got it back."

He led her to her seat, the music changing the minute he sat down, the percussion and brass were silenced, allowing the strings and woodwinds to take centre stage.

"This has to be one of the most fableous dates I have ever been on. You even got all my favourites."

"I am known to be a great listener."

"And a great boyfriend."

Jackson's demeanour suddenly changed, seriousness covering the jovial attitude he had a minute ago.

"Something wrong?"

"It's just that, the other reason for this date, is to talk about-"

"Legacy Day," she finished his sentence for him, receiving a nod.

"It's just, what happens with us? After we sign, do we-"

"Break up?"

"I don't want to, Dominque Gale, I love you and I don't want us to end at all."

Donnie caressed his face, "Jackson Stalk, I love you too."

His face acquired the most luminous glow as she added, "Legacy Day will never change how I feel about you."

He kissed the hand she had to his face, "You have made me the happiest guy in all of the realms."

After dinner and a quick dance, the two love-birds sat on the marble bench and watched the stars, thousands of orbs scattered across the black skies.

"Look, a shooting star; want to make a wish Donnie?"

She snuggled on his shoulder, "No need, we are here together, that's my wish come true."
