Chapter 7: Pacifrisk
As they arrived at the town, Frisk skipped ahead, to the sign.
"Welcome to Snowdin."
"Yep. This is the town. Now that we're here, I'm gonna head off for some food." Braedan said, checking his jacket for money.
"Food? Could you uh… get me some too?" She asked, wringing her hands in front of her.
"Sure. Hope ya like burgers." He pulled out a single coin before flipping it and catching it again. "Follow me, Frisk." He led her down the main stretch of town to Grillby's. Opening the door, Braedan allowed Frisk to step inside the toasty establishment, where her eyes widened at the host of patrons, many of them members of the royal guard she'd encountered earlier. Braedan simply strode past her and dropped into a seat at the bar.
"... Hello Braedan." The fiery bartender said simply. "... Who's your friend?"
"Heya Grillby. This is Frisk." Braedan gestured at the girl who sat down and did a small wave.
"Hello Grillby."
"... A pleasure. Hungry?" Grillby asked smoothly.
"Heck yeah we are. Been dealing with puzzles all day. Hook us up with some fries for me, and whatever the kid wants." Braedan said, pulling coins from his jacket.
"I'll have fries as well." Frisk said politely.
"... Alright. forty gold, Braedan."
"I got 25 on me. Mind putting the rest on my tab?" Braedan asked as he held out a pile of coins.
"... Sure. You actually pay it back." Grillby nodded, accepting the money and leaving to get the food.
"So kid, ya got any questions for me?" Braedan asked as he turned to look at her.
"You single?" She said flirtily.
"Have been since I left my grave, will be till I go back to it." He replied with a grin. She just laughed.
"That was great!"
"I'm dead serious." Braedan winked, and received more laughter.
"Stop with the puns! Please!" She giggled.
"Alright, Alright. Food's here anyways." Braedan said, popping a fry in his mouth. Frisk blinked and turned to see Grillby standing there, cleaning a glass with a rag. A burning rag.
"... What?" Grillby asked coolly.
"Oh, um… nothing. Sorry for staring!" Frisk said shyly, somewhat intimidated by the blazing bartender.
"... It's fine." Grillby simply nodded, while Braedan poked her shoulder. She looked over at him.
"Hmmm?"
"Eat up kiddo. I'll see ya around." He grinned before picking up his fries and walking out the door.
"Bye!" Frisk called out as he left. As he walked outside, he stretched before turning and starting down the road, eating his fries as he did.
Later
Frisk walked down the path out of town. No one had told her to, but she followed the path out of town anyways. As she walked, she noticed an icy fog beginning to form, growing more dense as she walked. Cautious, she moved slowly before stopping as she saw a tall and familiar shadow standing before her. The familiar (and loud) voice began to speak.
"... HUMAN. ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOME COMPLEX FEELINGS. FEELINGS LIKE… THE JOY OF FINDING ANOTHER PASTA LOVER. THE ADMIRATION FOR ANOTHER'S PUZZLE-SOLVING SKILLS. THE DESIRE TO HAVE A COOL, SMART PERSON THINK YOU ARE COOL." Frisk smiled, realizing that as dorky as Papyrus seemed, he really was her friend. "THESE FEELINGS… THEY MUST BE WHAT YOU ARE FEELING RIGHT NOW!" The girl's smile fell, replaced by a look of absolute confusion. "I CAN HARDLY IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO FEEL THAT WAY. AFTER ALL, I AM VERY GREAT. I DON'T EVER WONDER WHAT HAVING LOTS OF FRIENDS IS LIKE. I PITY YOU, LONELY HUMAN, BUT WORRY NOT!"
"Um… Papyrus-" She tried to interject, to no avail.
"YOU SHALL BE LONELY NO LONGER! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL BE YOUR… NO… NO, THIS IS ALL WRONG! I CAN'T BE YOUR FRIEND! YOU ARE A HUMAN! I MUST CAPTURE YOU! THEN, I CAN FULFILL MY LIFELONG DREAM! POWERFUL! POPULAR! PRESTIGIOUS! THAT'S PAPYRUS! THE NEWEST MEMBER… OF THE ROYAL GUARD!" Papyrus finished his speech, before holding up his hand as bones materialized around him. Frisk focused as a glowing red heart formed in front of her chest. "NOW, HUMAN FRISK! I WILL CAPTURE YOU!" He pointed his hand at her and the bones launched towards her, moving slow enough that she could easily dodge them. She prepared herself, before realizing the attacks weren't even aimed at her, harmlessly passing her. Frisk paused, before she smiled.
"Papyrus, I couldn't hurt you! You're too handsome and great!"
"WHAT?! FLIRTING?! W-WELL, I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW, I'M A SKELETON WITH VERY HIGH STANDARDS." Papyrus said, folding his arms.
"Um… I can make spaghetti?"" Frisk asked, obviously not super confident in the answer.
"OH NO! YOU'RE MEETING ALL MY STANDARDS!" Papyrus said, vaguely panicked. If you knew what to look for. "I GUESS THIS MEANS I HAVE TO GO ON A DATE WITH YOU…? WE CAN DATE LATER. AFTER I CAPTURE YOU!" Papyrus sent another wave of harmless bones. "ALRIGHT, HUMAN?"
"Sure…?" Frisk said, obviously over her head as she leapt out of the way of a bone. A few more waves of bones went by and Papyrus frowned. "SO, YOU WON'T FIGHT…"
"Nope! I refuse." Frisk replied.
"THEN, LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN HANDLE MY FABLED BLUE ATTACK!" Papyrus unleashed a flurry of bones surrounded by a blue aura that flew straight at Frisk who threw up her arms to protect herself… before the bones flew through her, leaving her uninjured. However, the heart floating in front of her changed from red to blue. Frisk looked at it, confused.
"My soul… is blue?" She asked for confirmation.
"YES. THAT'S MY ATTACK. YOU'RE BLUE NOW! NYEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!" Papyrus cackled. Frisk frowned, feeling a weight pulling her subtly, putting her directly in front of Papyrus. The tall skeleton unleashed another barrage of bones, the first aimed at Frisk's chest. She dove to the side, dodging it, before being pulled back to where she'd been. Her eyes widened slightly, as the next bone hit her square on, and knocked her off her feet. She groaned as the pain sank in, before she pulled herself to her feet and dodged the next barrage.
"YOU ARE DOING QUITE WELL, FRISK. YOU MIGHT EVEN ONE DAY BE AS GREAT AS ME!" Papyrus said cheerfully. "PERHAPS I WILL EVEN TRAIN YOU AFTER I CAPTURE YOU!" Frisk smiled slightly before jumping over a line of bones that ran along the ground, though she stayed quiet so she could focus. She slid under a bone and stood before suddenly popping off the ground. As she did, she saw a bone slide beneath her, before she landed back on her feet.
"AN EXCELLENT DODGE! YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEEM TO KNOW IT WAS THERE!" Papyrus exclaimed. "STILL, ONCE I CAPTURE YOU, I'LL BE MADE A MEMBER OF THE ROYAL GUARD. UNDYNE WILL BE SO PROUD OF ME." Another wave of bones, another two strikes against the girl, which caused her smile to become more of a grimace, as she prepared for the next attack.
"I'LL HAVE LOTS OF ADMIRERS… BUT…" Papyrus paused, thinking for a moment. "WILL ANYONE LIKE ME AS SINCERELY AS YOU? SOMEONE LIKE YOU IS QUITE RARE. AND IT MIGHT BE HARD TO GO ON A DATE, AFTER YOU'RE CAPTURED AND SENT AWAY TO THE CAPITAL…" He fell silent as another round of bones launched towards Frisk, who dodged them with a combination of sidesteps and rolls.
"... IT DOESN'T MATTER! GIVE UP! GIVE UP OR FACE MY SPECIAL ATTACK!" He yelled as the bones increased in both number and speed. Frisk began to struggle, taking another two hits, obviously in pain, worry now visible in her eyes.
"BEHOLD! MY SPECIAL ATTACK!" Papyrus said proudly. A single bone formed in front of him, faintly radiating an orange energy… before a dog suddenly flew through the air and snagged the bone with its mouth. Frisk's eyes widened in surprise, and Papyrus yelled.
"WHAT THE HECK! THAT'S MY SPECIAL ATTACK! HEY! YOU STUPID DOG!" The dog floated around the bone and looked at him, still chewing the bone. "DO YOU HEAR ME?! STOP MUNCHING ON THAT BONE!" The dog simply started to float away, which caused Papyrus to tell more, much to Frisk's amusement.
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! COME BACK HERE WITH MY SPECIAL ATTACK!" The dog however, happily, and magically, floated off down the stream. Papyrus just groaned. "UGH! OH WELL. I GUESS I'LL JUST USE A REALLY COOL REGULAR ATTACK. HERE IT IS." He sighed and turned to Frisk before bones launched towards her. Some knitted themselves into words such as Cool Dude, Great, and Papyrus before launching along towards her. As she leapt over them, she noticed a familiar figure sitting by a nearby tree. Looking over, she saw Braedan oddly moving his hand in time with her dodges. She guessed he was adding small amounts of lift to her jumps. Frisk flashed him a thankful smile before looking back at Papyrus to see a massive line of bones coming at her. She jumped, and instead of falling, just kept floating up, as a massive bone wall the size of an oak tree formed at the back of the bone army. She barely cleared the wall by an inch before dropping back to the ground. Papyrus stood, huffing as he did.
"WELL…" He took a deep breath. "IT'S CLEAR. YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME! I CAN SEE YOU SHAKING IN YOUR BOOTS! WAIT… NO. THOSE ARE SNEAKERS. REGARDLESS, I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, ELECT TO GRANT YOU PITY! I WILL SPARE YOU, HUMAN. JUST AS YOU DID ME. NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO ACCEPT MY MERCY."
"Thank you Papyrus!" Frisk said, gasping for air. Papyrus sighed, turning his back to her.
"UNDYNE'S GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED IN ME. I COULDN'T STOP A SINGLE HUMAN CHILD. I'LL NEVER JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD…" He said sadly. "AND MY FRIEND QUANTITY SHALL REMAIN STAGNANT."
"Well, if you want a friend, why don't we be friends?" Frisk asked after she caught her breath.
"REALLY? YOU WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH ME?!" WELL THEN… I GUESS… I GUESS I CAN MAKE AN ALLOWANCE FOR YOU!" Papyrus smiled. "WOWIE! WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD OUR FIRST DATE… AND I'VE ALREADY MANAGED TO HIT THE FRIEND ZONE!" Both he and Frisk laughed at the bad joke.
"WHO KNEW THAT ALL I NEEDED TO MAKE PALS… WAS TO GIVE PEOPLE AWFUL PUZZLES AND THEN FIGHT THEM!"
"It's a little more complicated than that, Papyrus."
"YOU'RE SURE? IT WORKED WITH YOU, AND WITH BRAEDAN!"
"With Braedan?" Frisk paused, before she turned to check on the other skeleton, surprised to find him gone, as if he'd never been around to begin with. Papyrus continued, not noticing how distracted she was.
"INDEED! THROUGH PUZZLES AND TRAINING, BRAEDAN AND I HAVE BECOME GREAT FRIENDS!" Papyrus posed in a very great manner. "NOW, HUMAN FRISK. IN ORDER FOR YOU TO GET HOME, YOU MUST TRAVEL TO THE END OF THE CAVERN TO THE CAPITAL. THEN YOU MUST TRAVEL THROUGH THE BARRIER. ANYTHING CAN ENTER, BUT ONLY A STRONG SOUL CAN LEAVE. HOWEVER, YOUR SOUL IS QUITE POWERFUL. AFTER ALL, YOU BESTED ME." He grinned.
"I prefer to say befriended." She replied with a smile.
"INDEED! NYEH HEH HEH!" Papyrus laughed. "I'LL BE HEADING HOME NOW! I HAVE A DATE TO PREPARE FOR!" Papyrus said before striding off, leaving Frisk seemingly alone. She peeked around a few trees before finding Braedan standing behind one.
"There you are!" Frisk exclaimed. "Why'd you hide?"
"Well, I couldn't let Papyrus know I was giving ya a hand." Braedan smiled. "Besides, I was about to head out myself. I AM supposed to be working after all." She chuckled.
"For what it's worth… Thank you. I appreciate the help."
"Don't mention it, kiddo. I'm your friend aren't I?" Braedan laughed, rubbing her hair, leaving it a frizzled, tangled mess.
"Stay safe, Frisk. I'll see ya around." He gave a casual two-finger wave to her before he turned and started walking away.
"Alright! See ya!" Frisk called out as he did. She then adjusted her sweater before beginning her journey down the path back towards Papyrus' house.
Once she arrived, she knocked on the door. Papyrus opened it.
"HUMAN FRISK! WELCOME! ARE YOU HERE FOR OUR DATE?" The tall skeleton asked.
"I guess so." Frisk smiled happily.
"EXCELLENT! COME ON IN! LET'S START OUR DATE!" Papyrus said cheerfully, gesturing for Frisk to enter. She stepped inside the home and gazed around at the mostly neat and tidy house, obviously a result of the two brothers differing personalities.
"You have a nice house, Papyrus." Frisk said cheerfully.
"WHY THANK YOU! I KEEP IT AS CLEAN AS I CAN. UNFORTUNATELY, SANS DOESN'T CLEAN UP ANYTHING. BRAEDAN OCCASIONALLY CLEANS... OR HE FILLS THE LIVING ROOM WITH BONE FORTS." Papyrus nodded. "SO! ARE YOU READY FOR OUR DATE?"
"Mhmmm!" Frisk posed sassily. Papyrus nodded.
"WONDERFUL! FOLLOW ME TO MY ROOM!" He said, as he walked up the stairs to his room, with Frisk right behind. Upon entering, the room was neat and childishly decorated with a ridiculous race car bed. "SO, FRISK… HOW DO WE DATE?"
"Wait… you don't know either?" The girl said, surprised.
"... WE MAY HAVE MESSED UP, BUT THE GREAT PAPYRUS WILL NOT FACE DEFEAT!" Papyrus said before searching through his bookshelf. "AHA! MY GUIDE ON DATING AND COOKERY!"
"Dating… and cookery?" Frisk asked, plopping down into the floor. Papyrus sat in front of her.
"INDEED. NOW, FIRST WE… EXCHANGE HANDSHAKES!" He held out a hand, which Frisk shook, nodding.
"NOW, WE STAND TALL AND LOOK CONFIDENT…" Frisk and Papyrus sat as straight as they could, stretching.
"What's next?"
"... WE'RE HIRED!" Papyrus cheered. Frisk blinked before laughing. "... WAIT, THIS ISN'T DATING! THIS IS A JOB INTERVIEW!" Papyrus yelled as Frisk howled with laughter. After a moment, Papyrus began laughing as well.
"WELL HUMAN, I SUPPOSE US DATING IS SIMPLY NOT MEANT TO BE. HOWEVER, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO BE YOUR BESTEST FRIEND INSTEAD." Papyrus explained as he put the book away.
"That sounds perfect." Frisk smiled before hopping up and hugging the taller skeleton."... Thank you. Papyrus."
"ANYTIME, FRISK." Papyrus replied cheerfully.
Frisk waved goodbye to Papyrus as she walked down the path out of Snowdin headed towards Waterfall. As she walked forward, she watched the cave narrow down to a more cavernous tunnel. She stepped through it into a darker environment lit by blue crystals around the room. To her surprise, she saw a familiar face sitting behind a battered wooden sentry station.
"Sans?!" Frisk exclaimed as she rushed up to the station.
"heya kiddo. how've ya been?" Sans grinned at her.
"I'm fine. I just got done hanging out with Papyrus."
"bet that was fun." Sans leaned forward against the counter. "listen, kiddo. wanna come to grillby's with me? we can grab a couple sodas."
"Sure, Sans. That sounds fun." Frisk said with her usual upbeat attitude.
"follow me. i know a shortcut." Sans smiled, grabbing her hand and leading her through a tunnel opening… directly into grillby's. Frisk eyes widened in shock.
"Wha? How did you…"
"told ya kiddo. i knew a shortcut." Sans laughed as they walked to the bar. He dropped onto a seat, and Frisk sat beside him, realizing a drink was already waiting for her. She took a sip, enjoying the crisp flavor of what tasted similar to apple juice. "... hey kid?" Sans asked. Frisk turned to answer him before stopping, noticing that the rest of the room seemed darkened, as everyone in the room sat unmoving, frozen.
"Sans? What's going on?" Frisk said nervously, pulling her arms close to her chest.
"don't worry about it." Sans shook his head. "just listen. have you heard about a talking flower?"
"Do you mean Flowey?"
"... yeah. I think he's messing with pap."
"What do you mean?"
"... he tells him things. makes me worry. so kid, let me know if you run into flowey, alright?"
"... What'll you do if you find him?" Frisk asked cautiously.
"i'll just tell him to leave my bro alone .that's all." Sans explained. Frisk sighed.
"... Alright Sans. I'll let you know."
"thanks kid. wanna shortcut back over?"
"Yeah, lemme finish my drink." She gulped it down before she hopped off the stool and followed Sans back out the door into the cave.
"alrighty kid, have fun."
"I'll try, Sans!" Frisk said before continuing past the sentry station into Waterfall.
As Frisk walked forward, she saw another figure up ahead. As she approached, she took in the young monster's appearance. He was short, shorter even than her, and was yellow, wearing a striped shirt. He surprisingly also didn't have arms, but he did have a orange bandana tied around his neck.
"Hi! You're a kid too right?" The monster asked.
"Mhmmm! How did you know?" Frisk asked as she walked up to him.
"Well, you're wearing stripes too. Stripes are kid colors."
"They are? Huh. I didn't know." Frisk laughed. "I'm Frisk! What's your name?"
"I'm Scrappy, but most people just call me Monster Kid, or Kid."
"What do you prefer to go by?" Frisk asked, and the other child smiled.
"No one's really asked before, but I don't really mind." The monster shrugged.
"I'll call you Scrappy, then." She said.
"Alright! So, are you here to see Undyne too?"
"Undyne?"
"Yeah! She's the coolest! She's the captain of the guard! And she's super strong!"
"Oh really?" Frisk asked, curious.
"Yeah! And she beats up humans like, so awesomely!" Scrappy said excitedly, bouncing up and down, his eyes lighting up.
"B-beats up?" Frisk said nervously.
"Yeah! She's killed humans before all by herself!"
"Killed humans… greaaaaat."
"I know right, dude?"
"Yeah…" Frisk smiled, growing more nervous. "I think she sounds uh… really cool."
"Yeah! Like dude, she's the coolest!" Scrappy continued as he walked along. "I wanna be like her when I-" Scrappy dropped into a faceplant, slamming into the ground.
"Scrappy?!" Frisk said as she dropped to her knees and peered at the monster. "Are you okay?!" Scrappy pulled himself off the ground, shaking it off.
"Psssh! I'm fine! I fall all the time!" Scrappy said with a laugh and a grin. Frisk just sighed and smiled, helping him up. The pair continued walking through the damp caverns of the underground for a few minutes, before reaching a small wall, around six feet high. Then the path continued along, leading away into darkness. The two paused, staring up at it.
"I guess we'll have to go back." Frisk sighed, as she kicked a stone off to the side. "Find another way around." Scrappy looked at her, before shaking his head."
"Nah, dude! I'll boost you up!" Scrappy grinned. "Then I'll catch up later!" Frisk looked at the smiling monster.
"You sure?" She asked, hope in her eyes.
"Yeah, I know this place super well! I'll catch up in no time!" He said proudly, before crouching by the wall. "Now climb on!" She smiled and nodded, carefully stepping on his shoulder and pulling herself up to the other path. She stood, turning back and looking down at Scrappy.
"So I'll see you again later, right?" Frisk asked, slightly worried. Scrappy just laughed, nodding.
"Yeah! I'll see ya, dude!" Scrappy said before running off. Frisk sighed, before turning and facing the long, empty hallway, staring into the dim cavern, before she grit her teeth.
"Okay… Let's go." She started walking forward, into the dim light. The path was dark, without any real turns or splits, until she reached a large, black cavern. A small sign sat in front of her, reading: "Follow the light, take a step of faith." She blinked and looked past it, seeing a large, softly glowing crystal, about the size of a watermelon. Touching it, it glowed brighter, and a path lit by embedded crystals in a road of glass. Another crystal sat waiting at the end of the path. Frisk blinked, before cautiously walking forward and pressing her palm against the warm crystal. Once again, a new path sprung to life from the crystal. As it glowed with light, Frisk saw another crystal down this new path, glowing softly, just like the rest. She jogged over and touched it, before jogging down the new path and touching the next crystal. She looked around, frowning as she saw no new path in sight, seeing only darkness and the way she'd come. Frisk crouched on her hands and knees, feeling around the edge of the glass platform that the final crystal sat on, finding nothing. Frisk pouted.
"Oh come on?! Where am I supposed to go?!" Frisk yelled to the darkness, sitting down and leaning on her left hand, tracing patterns on the floor with the other.
"Hoi!"A voice said suddenly, causing Frisk to jerk to her feet.
"Who's there?" Frisk said as she clenched her fists, ready to run.
"Me! I'm Temmie!" Said the high pitched voice. A small, doglike creature walked forward out of the darkness. It smiled, obviously not a threat. "Temmie want to make new friend!"
"Temmie?" Frisk asked, lowering her hands and crouching down in front of the little monster.
"Yeh! Do hooman want friends too?" Temmie asked.
"Um… Sure?" Frisk said, shrugging.
"Oki! Follow Temmie!" The tiny monster dog said before turning and walking down the dimly lit path. Frisk stood and followed, walking along the path before Temmie turned left, walking off the path. Frisk's eyes widened and she crouched, feeling for a path off to the side, shocked when her fingertips encountered cool glass. Frisk crawled forward, along the unlit, mysterious path. Up ahead, she suddenly saw a faint light and she rushed forward, entering into… a cave. A cave filled with temmies, and generally concerning things. Temmies ran about, yelling to one another in their odd form of speech. The temmie that led her in waited, bouncing slightly.
"What is all this?" Frisk asked, before freezing in shock as she saw a familiar face. Or more accurately, a familiar skull. "Braedan? What are you doing here?!"
"Oh, heya. How's it going, Frisky bits?" Braedan grinned his trademark skeletal grin, leaning against a wall, surrounded by the madness and the chaos of the temmies… who were playing tag? Sorta?
"How's it going? Well, apart from the fact that there's someone terrifying named Undyne around, and I don't know how to get past these puzzles, and I'm getting lost, and I just don't know where to go…" Frisk rambled, as she walked over to her taller, bonier friend. "... Can you please help me?" She said, looking up at him.
"Sheesh kid. Sounds like you're in quite a jam. How about this?" He said as he tussled her hair, standing and stretching, before leaning back on the wall. "Rest up here in Temmie Village, and then we'll move on together, okay?" Frisk let out a sigh of relief, a wide smile on her face.
"Thank you!" She said, obviously relieved. "So, what is this place, anyway?" Braedan paused, looking around.
"… I'll be honest, I'm not really sure. Well, first things first, temmies are pretty goofy and carefree. They don't really do all that much, but they have basically unlimited supplies of money, so they'll buy pretty much anything in the underground. Oh, and don't eat tem flakes. Ever." Braedan explained, with Frisk hanging onto every word. "I'm pretty sure tem flakes are literally just construction paper, possibly something worse."
"Worse?" She asked nervously.
"I don't remember what happened after I tried it, either because it made me forget, or I blocked it out. So just don't." Braedan sighed. "Anyway, this is basically the safest place in the underground. Temmies aren't really a threat to anyone." Frisk nodded.
"They're honestly kinda cute, if really weird." She said, looking down to see one bouncing in front of her.
"Hoi! I'm Temmie!" The small monster said cheerfully. Frisk smiled, picking up Temmie and hugging her close.
"Hi Temmie! I'm Frisk!" she said cheerfully in return, while Braedan just watched from his spot against the wall. Temmie happily rubbed against Frisk's face, causing her to sneeze. Temmie's eyes widened.
"Hooman is allergic to tem?" The smol being asked.
"No, I just sneezed. I'm fine." Frisk explained.
"Is fine! Tem is also allergic to tem!" Temmie said, before little red dots popped up over her tiny doggo face. Frisk paused, before she started laughing, having absolutely no idea what was going on. The temmie's face fixed itself as Temmie laughed as well. Braedan just nodded, used to the oddness of the temmies. Frisk pet the temmie's head before setting it down, letting it simply wander off.
"I'm telling ya' kid. Weird doesn't even begin to cover these little odd balls." Braedan said casually. Frisk laughed again, nodding.
"So… you said there was a shop?" Frisk continued, pulling out a few odds and ends from her pockets. "Cause I'd like to sell a few things." Braedan nodded, standing and cracking his neck.
"Yep. This way, kiddo." Braedan said, snagging her hand and guiding her into a small cave off to the side, where a rather unique looking temmie sat behind a small counter, hopping up excitedly at the sight of them.
"Hoi! Welcome to Tem Shop! I'm Temmie! You can call me Terri!" The temmie said excitedly. "Want to buy-"
"No tem flakes today, Terri." Braedan said with a small wave of his hand. "But we've got some stuff for you."
"You haz things for Terri?!" Terri said excitedly as Frisk looked back and forth between them.
"Well, I have more spaghetti for you. And Frisk here has some stuff too." Braedan said, pulling a plastic bag full of spaghetti from his jacket. Frisk gave him an odd look, before Terri bounced to her feet.
"SPAGHETTI! Terri wants wants so bad! But Terri needs to pay for college… Terry will give 100 gold for spaghetti!" The temmie said, staring at the bag.
"Deal." Braedan said, trading the spaghetti for the gold. "All you, kid." Frisk blinked.
"Um… I have a band-aid? And a ribbon. And uh… a glove? I left my stick with Toriel, so… yeah. Oh! And I have a bandana! Do you want any of that, Terri?" Frisk asked, setting the items in front of the temmie. Terri just cheered, bouncing up and down excitedly.
"Terri will buy all the hooman's things!" Terri cheered. Frisk's bright, crystal blue eyes widened in surprise, as Terri just pulled up a massive pile of gold, amounting to 800 gold in total.
"Really?!" Frisk asked, surprised.
"Yesh!" Terri yelled back, causing Braedan to chuckle at the display.
"Not bad kid. Got the art of the deal goin' on here." Braedan said with his trademark skeletal grin.
"Huh?" Frisk asked, while Terri leapt into a pose.
"Temmies haz great art!" Terri exclaimed.
"Don't worry about it, kiddo." Braedan said, sweeping all the gold into a small sack he tossed to Frisk. "We got some walkin' to do." Frisk caught the small bag and nodded.
"Right! Lead the way!" Frisk agreed.
An extra long chapter, with another chapter shortly on the way. Finally inspired to write again, which is interesting. I'm thinking another chapter or two before things start to more heavily change, but Frisk doing a rather pacifistic Neutral Run is the catalyst for this story, so it's just how it goes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
