"So," Skyler said as she re-entered the black tiled hall and closed the door to the scene behind her. "That was…interesting. I can't believe they saw the halfling's attempt to enter Avalon so long ago."
"That was the moment that your being was foretold," Nought said. "You were to play an important part, and you fulfilled your destiny as far as they had seen."
"Goodie," Skyler muttered. "So… Now what?"
"Now you pick another door," Nought said, gesturing to the hallway and the other untried doors. "We have quite a ways to go."
"Fine," Skyler said with a sigh. She reached for the door across from the first one, when a horrifying thought occoured to her. She pulled her hand back as if the doorknob had burned her. "Wait. So, the last one was of the sisters predicting my birth. I'm… not going to walk in on a scene of my conception, am I?"
Nought scowled at her and let out an annoyed huff. "No."
"Thank the gods," Skyler said, grasping the knob once more. "That is not an image I needed in my head."
"Nor I," Nought grumbled.
Skyler took a deep breath and turned the doorknob.
