Ruby was dumped like a sack of jogan fruit on the ship's floor. A ship she was sure Bo stole. She stood up and held her head high, as if she had walked into the ship willingly. She wasn't about to give a ship full of barbarians the satisfaction of her personal pain. She wasn't that little girl anymore, the one that would allow others to benefit from her suffering.

"Where's my cabin?" She demanded to no one in particular- anyone who could hear really.

"You can sleep on the floor princess," a Mandalorian sneered.

"It's Countess to you," she glared into his helmet. She would have loved to be able to see the faces of the mindless jerks around her, but was satisfied in imagining they all looked just as ugly as their hearts were.

He reached up and stroked her cheek with his gloved thumb, "want to tell me that again princess? See what happens."

Ruby swatted his hand away with the back of hers, like he was a bug, "get your doshing hands off me," she growled.

He grabbed her wrist and chuckled, "you know what, you've changed my mind princess. I do have a nice bed you can sleep in, mine." He squeezed her already sore wrist harder and Ruby moaned.

"That won't be necessary," came a voice just entering the ship. It was the shiny armored Mandalorian, Din. He stood next to the Mandalorian who held Ruby's wrist. "You can let go now," he said, his hand casually resting on top of his holstered blaster. The other Mandalorian seemed to be sizing him up, but finally dropped Ruby's wrist with a low growl.

"Come with me Countess," Din said to Ruby, "I'll show you to your cabin."

Ruby wasn't sure whether or not she should trust him, but she had little other choice. He was the only one who stood up for her, both now and earlier. He held out his arm for her to take. But something else caught her attention, she saw a pair of large eyes peeking out of a pouch at his waist. Din must have seen because he quickly pulled his cloak over his pouch and took her arm.

He led her away from everyone else, towards the very back of the ship. As they walked down the hall together, the ship started to take off. Ruby stumbled backwards, Din spun around, catching her. Then the ship jerked in the opposite direction and Ruby fell face first into Din's chest plate. She pushed off his chest and rubbed her aching forehead. "Sorry," Din said. He cupped her face in his hands and leaned down to examine her forehead where a small bruise was already forming.

"Who the heck is piloting this thing?" Ruby complained.

p"No one worth mentioning," Din replied. "Let's get you inside."

He pushed a button at the end of the hall and a cabin door opened. Ruby almost cried at the surprise that waited inside, Tanni was inside sitting on the bed. Ruby ran and jumped into Tanni's arms, holding her close. "Tanni!" Ruby cried, "I thought I'd never see you again!" Din smiled inside of his helmet at the reunion.

Tanni smiled and returned Ruby's embrace whole-heartedly. "Thank you Mandalorian," Tanni said.

Ruby quickly turned her head to the door where Din was standing. "What do you mean?"

"It was the Mandalorian Ruby. He snuck me onto the ship," Tanni said.

Ruby felt like embracing him too, but she suppressed that feeling, "thank you." She said with a blush.

"You're welcome, Countess." He said.

"Ruby," she said walking over to him and holding out her hand, "you can call me Ruby."

Din took her hand, "I'm Din Djarin, the Barbaric Mandalorian."

Ruby blushed harder still and smiled, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called you that. It wasn't fair of me to judge you without knowing you. You're a bounty hunter, aren't you? Sounds dangerous, I'm sure you'd need a weapon like that in your line of work."

Din dropped her hand, realizing he might have held it longer then he should have. "I'll be back Ruby, stay here." Ruby nodded. It was an order. Ruby didn't like orders. But this time, she knew she would have no problem obeying.
