Din woke up as the ship started to land. He had no idea when he had fallen asleep in the girl's room. He looked around from his chair, the three were all asleep on the bed: Grogu, Tanni and Ruby. The sight warmed him. It was nice to see good people still out there in the galaxy, people worth fighting for.

As Din scanned Ruby he noticed her legs were still bare. She would have to change quickly, they were already here. He walked over to her and considered what the best way to wake her would be. He sighed and reached his hand over to her shoulder. "Hey, time to go," he said softly. She moaned and rolled over but didn't wake up. He squeezed her shoulder, "come on." Nothing.

He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. This was different. When Grogu wouldn't wake up he'd stuff him into his pouch and bring him along anyway. He couldn't exactly do that with Ruby. He moved a strand of her hair away from her face with his fingers. She was out.

"What are you doing?" Tanni groaned.

Din took his hand away quickly, "we're here. You have to get dressed." He said although they both knew he was referring to Ruby not Tanni. Din reached over Ruby and grabbed a sleeping Grogu from her side. Djarin dropped him into the pouch. He made a small noise that Din thought mean something like 'how rude, I was comfortable.' Too bad buddy, he thought, time to say bye to your friends.

"Go on," Tanni said, "I'll wake and dress her while you go figure out a way to get us out of this mess." She sat up in bed and raised her eyebrow at him.

"That wasn't the deal. The deal was Ruby sees her husband to be and then makes the decision," he reminded her.

"And I'm telling you, don't even bother," Tanni sassed. Din sighed and turned to leave just as he heard Ruby stirring to wake. The corner of his mouth turned up at the small sleepy noises that escaped her lips. He pushed a button on the wall and left, perhaps if Tanni hadn't been there, he would have stayed.

Tanni shook Ruby until she was awake. "Ruby," she called her. Ruby shook her head 'no.' She didn't want to get up and face this bad dream. She'd rather sleep forever. Tanni sighed, "I understand, but you're going to get up anyways." Tanni nudged her side.

Ruby rubbed her eyes. She couldn't sleep, not really. She wished she hadn't overheard the conversation that Tanni and Din had. It didn't change anything, except that she was even less trusting of Din's true intentions. She had guessed Tanni's feelings for her a while ago. No friend was that caring and protective, or attentive. She was just waiting for Tanni to tell her herself.

"So this is really happening then," Ruby groaned.

Tanni nodded, "it will be okay, it always is."

"It has to be," Ruby smirked, "and tomorrow we will be back home drinking wine and remembering how much we hate my sister."

"Absolutely," Tanni grinned, "that's why I love you. You're always so positive and you're always trying to see the best in people."

Ruby smiled but didn't say anything. She wondered if Tanni was secretly saying something more every time she said she loved her. She took off her beautiful dress and threw it in a ball on the floor, never to be seen or worn by her again. A Sarlacc could eat it for all she cared. She put on the traveling outfit she had on before. Something simple, a tunic, leggings and boots. She wasn't planning on making a good impression.

"Can I come in?" Din called through the door after a while.

Ruby herself stood up and opened the door for him, "please tell me you're here to hang out and not here to force me off this ship." When Din didn't respond Ruby sighed. "Okay, let's go," she said.

Ruby walked in front of Din, his hand on the small of her back, gently nudging her forward. It didn't feel like a pressured nudge. It almost felt like his hand was there in case she'd faint, which at this point, she wasn't so sure she wouldn't. She felt herself wincing and forced a neutral expression onto her face. You don't care, she told herself, none of this matters. She wished she truly believed the lies she told herself. But it would be enough to muster the right demeanor. She glanced back, Tanni was right behind Din.

"This way, princess," a Mandalorian belittled her as she exited the ship, following his direction.

They were met with another group of helmeted men. Ruby was starting to hate this game. If she were ever a clan leader she'd make up a rule that no one could wear a helmet in front of her. How could one possibly trust someone they've never made eye contact with, she thought. Then she felt the fingers on her back shift slightly, repositioning, but not leaving her. She stole a quick look at he man next to her, and changed her mind. Oh, thats how, she thought again. One of the men stepped forward and extended a hand to greet her, she didn't take it. She figured they knew she was the bride-to-be because, besides Tanni, she was the only girl here, and no one could possibly think Tanni was Bo Katan's sister. Ruby had that feeling inside of her again, the feeling to run. The same feeling she ignored back on Concordia that she'd wished she'd taken more seriously. Her intuition was usually right. She leaned back into Din's hand. Not so sure she could hold up her end of their bargain.

"All you have to do is meet them," he whispered to her, then he rubbed small circled around her back with his thumb. Ruby gasped at the sensation. It almost tickled. Then Din stopped, thinking maybe she didn't like that.

"Don't stop," she whispered, side eyeing him. Din resumed the little circles around her back. Ruby felt loads better already. More secure.

"You must be Ruby from Clan Kryze?" Said the Mandalorian who still had his hand out for her. Ruby hated how he addressed her. "I'm Leo from Clan Saxon. We've certainly been through a lot, our two clans."

"I don't care," Ruby sneered, still stubbornly rejecting his touch. She could have sworn she heard Din chuckle.

Then he awkwardly took back his gesture and removed his helmet revealing a really sweet looking smile, and an incredibly handsome face, in a scruffy rugged way. He had very blue eyes and short brown hair. This would have been a lot easier, Ruby thought, had this guy been ugly. But gosh darn it, he was really cute. "Bo told me you weren't a conventional Mandalorian by any means. Just a Mandalorian by birth right."

"I'm not a Mandalorian. So if you were looking to marry one, I'm afraid there isn't one here." Ruby said sharply. "Unless you like men who deserve a good smack in the face. We have plenty of those on board."

The man smirked, "I wouldn't expect you to be anything but yourself."

Ruby looked at Din with a raised eyebrow and he shrugged back at her. A chance. She had to give this guy a chance. He was really handsome to look at and not immediately overbearingly rude. She had to try. Ruby stepped forward, away from Din's touch, and extended her hand for Leo to take. Then she linked her arm around his. Din immediately missed her closeness, but wasn't about to let her out of his sight. He nodded at Tanni, and they both followed the pair.

"Where are you taking me," Ruby asked as if she were being kidnapped. "Your home is not particularly lovely. It looks more military."

Leo chuckled, "I'll never have to guess what's on your mind, will I?"

Ruby narrowed her eyes at him, "I miss my home."

"It would never be my intention to take you from it," he said as he led her into what Ruby thought to be a military base.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I'd only ever have you join me here if you wanted to be here," he shrugged as if the answers came all too easily for him.

"So what? We get married and then I leave and we pretend this never happened?" She asked.

Leo raised an eyebrow, "well I was hoping it would be different. I've seen your hologram, it really didn't do you any justice. You're much more beautiful in person. I'll admit, I had my reservations about you coming here, but they dissipated the moment I saw you. You're captivating, gorgeous. I was hoping you'd give me the chance to win you over formally before you decide to go home."

"Win me?" Ruby's nose crinkled in distaste for the term.

"Uh," Leo stuttered, "yes, well no, uh. Woo you?"

Ruby laughed, "woo?" She laughed again but harder, almost crying. "Have you ever even met another woman before?"

Leo started laughing too, "is it that obvious that I'm terrible at this?"

Ruby nodded, still laughing, "yes! Absolutely awful! But I'm glad!"

Leo blushed, "I'm glad you can laugh at my expense."

Din hadn't realized he'd been clenching his jaw this whole time until Tanni grabbed and squeezed his hand then whispered, "when do we get to leave."

Din looked between the two, "they seem happy together."

Tanni frowned, "oh no you don't! You promised!"

"Tanni," Din sighed, "she likes him. Everything worked out."

Tanni scoffed, "Din Djarin, you know nothing of love. You can't tell anything this early on. You're staying with us. Until we know for sure she'll be happy. Right now all she's doing is tolerating him."

Din nodded, "I'm not leaving."

"Good," Tanni said, "don't you dare leave Ruby until your certain that guy cares about her as much as you do." Din was ready to protest, but the right words didn't come. Darn Tanni and her insanely accurate presumptions.
