Hello everyone! New fanfic for y'all! This will be a bunch of random drabbles. Odd title but my other Naruto fanfic its titled If I Die Young so when Long Live started playing while I was trying to think up a title I COULD NOT resist. Hope you like it!

This fic is cross-posted on Ao3, I'm IWillGoDownWithThisShip1411 over there so look out for that guys!

I worry I made Hanabi Hyuga seem too young in this, she's supposed to be five or six. Huh. Maybe not. You decide.

Anyway, enjoy!

-Naruto Hyuga spends time with his shy classmate who, unbeknownst to them both, hides a huge secret.

Warnings: Slight NaruHina. AR (Alternate Reality), not quite an AU. Still set in the Naruto universe but now Naruto is the oldest child of Hisashi Hyuga and Hinata is the host of the nine-taled fox.

Chapter 1: The Best Day

Naruto Hyuga sat up straight in class and stared at the board so hard his Byakugan almost activated. He wanted to do well and make his father proud! He wasn't a prodigy like his cousin Neji but one day he was going to be the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, believe it! And to do that, he needed to pass this class!

His classmate Hinata glanced over at Naruto, and then looked away shyly. That was Naruto Hyuga for you, he could never sit still long enough to pay any real attention in class and he hated book learning but he tried so hard. He said he was going to be the Hokage one day and Hinata couldn't help but believe him.

Do your best Naruto, she cheered inwardly. There was a rumbling in her chest that felt like her chakra was boiling. It felt like that every time Hinata thought about the Hokage, she ignored it.

After class that day Naruto raced to meet up with his father who always picked his younger sister Hanabi up from her tutor's at this time. He used to walk back home with Neji but Neji had graduated from the academy last year and now Naruto was alone. He didn't like to be alone, it was always more fun to do things with friends.

He couldn't wait to tell his dad how well he'd done in weapons class today. His dad was head of their clan and, as such, didn't always have enough time for his two children so Naruto was always trying to get his attention. He'd used to do it by pulling pranks and causing trouble but his father only ever gave him a stern look and said "I will not respond to this childishness Naruto" before going off and doing something else. Naruto had quickly figured out that the best way to get his father's attention was to do something good not something bad.

He did still play pranks sometimes but usually just because one of his friends had dared him to or he was just bored, not because of his father who didn't care if Naruto was naughty.

Unlike Neji.

Spotting his cousin, who'd only gotten back from a mission outside the Village this morning, moving to join his father and little sister, Naruto ran up to Neji, yanked the tie from the end of his long hair and raced off with it, shouting a hello to his father and Hanabi as he ran past them to hide around the corner of the street.

"Naruto!" Neji took a step as though he meant to go after him, then seemed to catch himself. Instead, he simply shook out his hair and continued walking, close to his uncle and cousin but a little apart.

Around the corner, Naruto pouted. Neji was just no fun anymore! "Why is he always like that?" He grumbled to himself.

"It's your father," said a soft voice from behind him. Turning, he saw that girl from his class, the one with the whiskers on her cheeks… Hina… Hinata, that was it, sitting with her back to the wall he had hidden behind, her legs drawn up.

"He's scared your father's going to hurt him if he's mean to you," Hinata continued. With the instincts possessed only by abused children, she'd seen the way Neji was shying away from his uncle.

Naruto looked at her as though she was crazy. "My dad would never hurt Neji!"

Naruto seemed to truly believe that. Neji did not though, thought Hinata, watching the brunet boy walk home. It wasn't his child cousin he was avoiding.

She didn't answer Naruto and he didn't seem to expect her to. Instead, his stomach growled. Loudly. "Ah, can't wait to get home, I'm starving!" He said, talking to himself again.

As if in answer, Hinata's own stomach growled. Even louder.

When Naruto turned to her, Hinata blushed furiously, she wanted him to notice her, but not like this!

"Hey, you're hungry too!" Said Naruto. Leaning down, he grabbed her hand, "come have dinner with us! We're having nishinsoba with cinnamon rolls for dessert. It's gonna be so good!"

Oh. Hinata loved cinnamon rolls and having dinner with Naruto would be a dream come true for her but…

"I-" Hinata opened her mouth to say she shouldn't. She had no idea why the adults in the Village hated her, but they did. She had no reason to believe Naruto's father was any different and she definitely didn't want to get Naruto in trouble for talking to her.

Naruto, however, was not waiting for an answer. Pulling Hinata to her feet, he ran back to his father, dragging her with him. "Dad? Can Hinata have dinner with us?!"

Hinata froze as Hisashi Hyuga's pale eyes turned on her, he knew who she was, she could see it in his face. He opened his mouth; to tell his son there was no chance the Demon Child was setting foot in their house, Hinata guessed, when Hanabi shouted beside him. Overjoyed with the prospect of a Big Girl to play with, the tiny child all but dragged Hinata the rest of the way to their house in an impressive display of strength and good direction for a girl so young and what could Hisashi say to that?

There, they played dolls until dinnertime, where the girl dolls rescued the boy dolls from the evil fortress created by Hanabi's chair and an old sheet. Hinata wanted to spend more time with Naruto, but she could never hurt a young girl's heart by denying her a pleasure it cost Hinata absolutely nothing to give. Besides, she'd played dolls before, but only alone. It was sort of fun playing with someone else. Even if Hanabi was a small child who liked to throw her dolls against the wall and then laugh hysterically as they hit the wall and then slid down.

They had dinner, which was just as good as Naruto promised it would be. And she got to sit next to him for the whole meal!

Dessert brought tears of happiness to her eyes and when Naruto insisted Hinata have the last cinnamon roll, she prayed the night would never end.

They'd eaten pretty early so she even stayed after dinner and played with Hanabi some more. Naruto joined them this time and played the evil ninja the girls defeated with their 'byakugans'. Hanabi was too young to actually activate her byakugan and did not comprehend that Hinata actually didn't have one. The idea that there were people who actually didn't, and would never, have a byakugan was simply not part of her worldview. But the girls had the spirit and that was what counted!

After the 'evil ninja' was defeated, Hinata played the monster. Hanabi was the hero and Naruto was her noble steed. Hanabi rode around on his back as Hinata ran (actually walked briskly) away from them and Naruto crawled after her, laughing as Hanabi pulled on his hair with the endless patience older brothers only had with their much younger siblings.

Eventually, Hanabi 'defeated' her and Hinata's dramatic 'death,' that ended with her lying on the floor, made Hanabi laugh so hard she fell off Naruto's back and was only saved by her brother's quick reflexes.

Lying on the ground, an also laughing Naruto beside her, holding his sister, Hinata thought she'd play the monster every single day if it made Naruto smile like that.

Hope you liked it guys! I actually really enjoyed writing it which is odd because I'm not big on NaruHina (I don't hate NaruHina, it's just not a preference). Maybe I'll write some more in this verse one day.

Speaking of! I TAKE REQUESTS! No incest, pedophilia or NSFW. Oh, also nothing about Hashirama and Tobirama Senju or Madara and Izuna Uchiha. I'll take requests for those four but it will be published on my other Naruto fic which is about them. Other than that, go nuts!

Until next time!

Ciao!
