Behaviour

"Kazuma?"

"Yes?"

The sun displayed its glory in the eastern sky, shining on the world with its glorious ambience. Kazuma came out of his home to meet up with Yunyun, who was waiting for him in her uniform. The uniform of Demon Academy is simple, for the female students, they would wear a formal pink shirt and a black skirt that reached their knees, with a black gold-trimmed robe with no sleeves and a red tie. And the male students were even simpler, a black shirt, red tie, black gold-trimmed sleeveless robe and a pair of black trousers.

When Kazuma merely wear a black long-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of black trousers, he already looks exceptional. But now, with a formal black shirt, a red tie, a pair of black trousers, a sleeveless black gold-trimmed robe, and a sword on his back, complemented with a pair of gloves. Yunyun couldn't help being flustered.

The uniform was given when he was seven years old, the year he was supposed to enter the academy. The material used to create it contain some traits that allowed its size to change according to the wearer's size. It was a magical item yet in the Crimson Demon clan, it was merely a uniform for its students.

'Too much!'

She was used to seeing the male students wearing this uniform, but when Kazuma wears it, it gives off a different feeling. Kazuma is tall, with his refined figure, combined with his solemn dark, red eyes and his handsome countenance, such a figure was in a formal uniform with a sword proudly on his back. It's undeniable that he looks like a courageous scholar. Intelligent yet strong.

Kazuma looks at Yunyun and smiled in gratitude, bringing out the notebook she gave him out of his belongings that was tied with a rope, for easier carrying.

"Thank you for your notebook, Yunyun. It gave me a lot of help. And mind if I ask, how do you know where I live?"

While he was indifferent, he exuded a sharp, cold aura. Yet when her eyes met him, what he exuded was nothing more than a friendly feeling. A sense of trust, comfort. His tall and refined figure made her safe because of the recent event. With the power he possessed, a sense of dependence couldn't help but formed within her when she was with him. They only met once, but it's hard for her not to fall.

In title, she was merely a beginner, or a Mage Apprentice. Reaching level 19 at her age is already exceptional. But Crimson Demon's requirement to learn spells is to activate the circuit of the brain. And even if she did learn spells, it wouldn't be enough to stand against one of Kazuma's full power assaults. Maybe when she reached level 40, but that's not even counting the instinctive acts and experience. It's only normal, after all, Mages weren't made to fight one against one. So while warriors are soldiers, heroes, mages are destructive beings, capable of destroying armies merely with one of their spells. Of course, it's the description of Arch-Mages, the apex of the world.

Such a person was merely two years apart from her. Crimson Demon did not teach its younger generation to be jealous, they teach them to set the exceptional as a goal. While odd, Crimson Demon is indeed a prosperous clan.

"Y-You're welcome! And as an Heiress of Crimson Village of the Crimson Demon, I must know every one of its citizens! If not, how could I earn their trust?"

Yunyun answered confidently, but Kazuma is 13 years old in mentality if both lives were combined, excluding his early years as a toddler and years as a HikiNEET, so his experience far exceeds hers. Looking at her flustered appearance, he shook his head involuntarily.

'An ugly stalker it's creepy as hell. But if it was an attractive one, it would look cute.'

While it was a biased opinion, Kazuma could not deny that it was true. Of course, as long as it wasn't based on bad intentions. Unfortunately for Yunyun, Kazuma Satou, who experienced a broken heart and Kazuma, who has no cares for everything but his sword, wouldn't be affected in the slightest.

"Alright, so you said yesterday that you'll meet up with Megumin at the academy, right? So what are you waiting for?"

Yunyun nodded. She walked through the road with the Demon Academy as her destination. Kazuma glanced at the sky and took a deep breath before following from behind.

'Despite being late for over 5 years, I'm not nervous at all.'

Opposite of that, he actually looks forward to it.

"..."

"This is the Demon Academy!"

Perhaps it was because of such few amount of students, but Demon Academy looks exactly like a residence of citizens in Crimson Village, albeit bigger. There's a conspicuous banner on top of the resident, showing "THE DEMON ACADEMY" with a bright red font. Kazuma, the prideful Crimson Demon, never visited this place. It's odd but he truly never visit this place.

"...Am I attracting too much attention?"

"Um, no. I'm the Heiress so it's only normal for them to pay attention."

Kazuma wanted to believe that but the truth denies it right away.

"Th-That's Kazuma, right?"

"That rugged, wild and stupid Kazuma, the Crimson Village of Crimson Demon's only Warrior?"

"If that was the case then, how did such an exceptional scholar that looks exactly like him appear here?"

"It's not an imitator you dumb dumb, that's truly Kazuma! The sole warrior of Crimson Demon!"

"How come I didn't realize how attractive and flashy he is?"

"Perhaps we were too blind."

The "Sole Warrior of Crimson Village of Crimson Demon" thing was supposed to be a mockery, yet it sounds extraordinary. Kazuma couldn't help but thought that Crimson Demons are truly too innocent.

"What's he doing here?"

"Don't tell me-"

"-that he's going to learn how to be a mage?"

Their words and conversations wouldn't reach Yunyun because of how quiet they are, but Kazuma possessed incredible hearing.

"Such a handsome kid, what's his name?"

"That's Kazuma, the kid who refused to learn anything but his sword."

"I heard that he's already strong, but it's a pity that he doesn't want to learn mana..."

"You blind old fool, look at the formal attire he's wearing! His intention here was to learn. It's quite obvious."

"Oh right! Now that he wanted to learn, I wonder, how much of a monster he'll become?"

"...I have no idea. And stop imitating the dialogues you read from the book you received from your sons, you senile old man."

"Alright..."

It's not only his peers, even the older generations placed their attention on him. But he was quite perplexed.

'Despite being such an arrogant prick, I did not even receive a single insult...'

It's a fact that shocked and touched him. Though he didn't know that Crimson Demon puts their pride first, they even remove Pride from the seven sins, turning it into the Six Sins. Of course, it was based on capabilities. And Kazuma, the prideful Crimson Demon, lacked anything but ability. So while the villages often talked about his stupidity of becoming a warrior, they never actually disgrace his prideful nature.

And his stupidity was true anyway. Crimson Demon is a Mage's clan yet he chooses to become a warrior?

"YUNYUN! YOU SHAMELESS HEIRESS!"

A loud shout from the crowd suddenly rang out, turning the bustling crowd into silence. A figure forced itself to penetrate the crowd and what appeared before Kazuma and Yunyun is a red-faced Megumin, who was glaring at Yunyun with her dagger-like gaze. She was in the same uniform as Yunyun.

"There are too many people here, Megumin!"

"Oh yeah?! Then how come I did not see you caring anything when you were walking side by side with Kazuma, a clearly conspicuous and attractive male?!"

"Umm... W-Well! I-"

Kazuma, realizing the crowd's attention, brought Yunyun and Megumin away by their waists and appeared behind the resident, erm, academy. The crowd, witnessing the drama and the speed Kazuma performed, turned bustling again.

"Such speed! Is there anything that kid lacking?!"

"And he even scored both top students!"

"It only makes sense though..."

"Now I know why Kazuma, the Sole Warrior of Crimson Village of Crimson Demon possessed an exceptional arrogant nature."

"Impressive! Very impressive! The younger generation this time is too exceptional!"

"I thought two was impressive, but it seems like it wasn't enough for the current generation and they even added an even stronger youngster on top of that!"

Crimson Demon adored flashiness and knowledge. But they knew too, that in this world, power is everything. With monsters and systems dominated by mana, it was inevitable.

And Kazuma, lacking in mana aspect aside, possessed monstrous force as a Warrior. Even when he's not a mage, he's still one of the Crimson Demons, and they will definitely be on his side.

And he was but a 12 years old who only had himself to learn. Now that he appeared in front of the academy wearing such formal attire, it was as if he was telling the whole village that he has an intention to learn mana.

As their clanmates, they couldn't help but look forward to his future.

Crimson Demon is odd, but they are unbreakable. It's almost impossible to break them apart. And it's even more impossible to scheme so they would fight each other, considering their intelligence.

What a prosperous clan indeed.

"Kazuma, that kid finally started to have an interest in mana."

At the top of the resident, a tall shadow looks down with its crimson eyes, a glint flashed before it disappeared, leaving nothing but footprints on the rooftop.

"You idiotic Megumin, what were you doing, screaming such mindless thing in the middle of the crowd?"

Being older by two years, Kazuma, as the eldest, scolded Megumin, who was looking down in guilt.

"You knew Yunyun isn't the best at socializing, and you decide to make it worse by embarrassing her in front of the whole crowd? I did not know that Megumin is such a bully."

Kazuma did not use a sharp or a harsh tone, but the words were more than enough to stab her immature heart. Megumin's eyes were on the verge of spilling tears, with her cheeks turning red in shame. Yunyun who was at the side looked at her in guilt but looking at Kazuma, who showed a look that contain no friendliness, she merely looked down to avoid his sharp gaze.

"You are too impulsive. Too subjective. Too careless with your words on Yunyun. And it was in the middle of the crowd nonetheless."

Megumin is not a bad person. She was prepared to save her little sister with her own as the price. But she overlooked the words she used on Yunyun, her closest friend, looking at their closeness. Yunyun is shy, timid and sensitive, even more so than many girls. And girls are sensitive in the first place, and Yunyun was sensitive even amongst them.

Kazuma was quite disappointed in her behaviour. He gets it, there is a rivalry between them, looking at their ranking. But Crimson Demon teaches its students to be objective, not subjective. This is what many genius lacks, a serious scolding from their seniors which they wholeheartedly accept. They often used words in subjectivity instead of objectivity, resulting in the feeling of superiority amongst their peers. As if wanting to show that they are different, special. Remain indifferent in their peers' inferiority and depressed state.

And this world, which ultimately put forth power the most, lack such common sense. It was unfortunate.

If Kazuma, the prideful Crimson Demon, did not merge with Kazuma Satou, then his behaviour would be similar to Megumin's, albeit definitely worse.

"I-I'm sorry..."

Megumin looks up and showed her big glimmering, teary crimson eyes to Kazuma. Her cheeks were rosy red and her lips turned into a sad pout. Kazuma and Kazuma Satou both remain unaffected. But in the first place, it was a scolding with a good intention to straighten her behaviour, so Kazuma merely sighed and pat her head, which was covered with a funky-looking witch hat.

He smiled.

"It's fine. I hope you became nicer to her and everyone else. Of course, you must see their attitudes before you act."

"Definitely~!"

She impulsively hugged him, and he merely accepted it. As a senior, it was his job to scold and comfort his naughty juniors.

"H-Hey!"

Not wanting to be left behind by her best friend and her dependable senior, Yunyun hugged his figure from behind. Kazuma really wanted to get out, but it was quite hard when they hugged him tightly. So he could only smile helplessly.

"Please guide your senior to become a mage."

They giggled and answered.

"Yes, Senpai!"

Kazuma froze.

'Ah...'
