RADIANCE
What is life without the radiance of love?
-Friedrich Schiller-
Morning sunlight and early summer breeze invaded Gray's senses as his lids slowly parted. For a second, he was blinded by the morning light shining on his face through the gaps of the flowing window curtains. He blinked a few times to adjust his sight and his gaze landed on the beautiful face of the blue-haired woman still sleeping beside him. The warm sunshine not bothering her, but it was giving her such a beautiful glow.
Ahh, what a wonderful view to greet him in the morning and he's got to enjoy such a view for the rest of his days.
A smile stretched the side of his lips as his hands lifted to touch Juvia's warm cheek. Her brows furrowed with the intrusion, but she didn't wake up and he could not help but chuckle. She looked so peaceful sleeping beside him like she has no worries at all.
Mornings like this were what he's always looking forward to whenever he closed his eyes at night. He's always excited to wake up beside her and to watch her rest peacefully within his reach as he listened to her peaceful breathing. The knowledge that she's just there beside him and he could feel her engulf his heart with love and contentment.
The moment he acknowledged his feelings towards her, he'd been wishing to spend the rest of his life with her, and his wish was finally granted.
She's his power to live and she's all that he needs. Now she's officially his.
He took her hand that was resting on her pillow before kissing the wedding band on her ring finger. Gray let out a contented breath as he scooted on her side and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Juvia seemed to feel him moving closer, so she buried her face in his neck before she murmured a "Good morning, Gray-sama," in a morning voice that only he gets to hear.
"Good morning," he whispered back as he gently combed her hair with his fingers. "Still sleepy?"
"Hmmm."
"You should sleep more."
His smile widened when he felt her pout on his skin. "Today is my first day as your wife," she said. "I want to start our day as a new husband and wife by making something nice for breakfast."
Gray rolled on his back with Juvia in his arms. "I can have you for breakfast," he playfully said, and his laughter filled the room when Juvia embarrassedly hit his bare chest. Her face was beet red, and Gray couldn't help but laugh even more. It's really fun to tease Juvia because she looked so cute when she's being shy.
"Gray-sama! I'm serious," she pouted.
"So am I," he replied trying to restrain his smile.
"But you already had Juvia last night!"
"And who said I can't have you again right now?"
"You!" Juvia huffed and pushed herself up, all her sleepiness gone.
Gray laughed again before sitting up too. He cupped her face and gave her a deep, breathtaking kiss.
Juvia hummed as their lips touched and even though she was quite embarrassed by his teasing she eagerly responded with his kiss. In no time she was straddling him, and they were both panting for air. When their lips parted, Juvia rested her forehead against Gray's.
Their gazes met and Gray could almost hear his heartbeat as he looked into the eyes of the most important woman in his life. With the sunlight shining from her back, she looked like a beautiful glowing angel in his eyes.
His very own angel.
She seemed to have that inner radiance that touched his soul and filled his life with a warmth that he never knew he needed. She's like a glowing spark that lights up his life.
God, how much he loves her.
Juvia smiled and cupped his face. "I love you, too, Gray." There's no need for him to say those words to her because she could see them in his eyes.
Gray chuckled and pulled her in for another kiss.
"I'm thankful I love you."
I hope you're enjoying Gruvia Week as much as I do.
