Staten Island at night was an odd sight. Although it usually bustled with life during the day night was a completely different. Although most people had gone home, leaving the streets quiet and empty, the moon cast a beautiful light, illuminating the city amidst the dark. Not many were there to admire its beauty, although at that moment rapid footsteps could be heard. Panting accompanied, as a young man ran like hell through an alley. Desperately holding his stomach the man cursed and began to speak.
"Can't believe I looked for that stupid cat, I can't do this tonight. Gotta get home, gotta get home."
The owner of that voice was Dave Lizewski, a teenager with curly brown hair and glasses, wearing a brown jacket over a blue shirt. As thoughts ran through his head, mostly of the "Fuck fuck fuck" variety, ran through his head. Each footstep he took felt like an eternity as an all too familiar feeling ran through his veins. Suddenly Dave stopped, feeling like his entire body was on fire. Closing his eyes and clenching his teeth Dave tried to suppress the pain he was feeling.
"Not now, dear god please not now."
Slowly Dave looked up at the night sky, terror in his eyes. As his stomach bubbled with full force he began breathing heavily, horrified at what he knew would happen. Looking back and forth and seeing that no one was there he quickly made a decision.
"Ok, this is it. Its happening, so I gotta get away. I get home, everything goes fine. Ok, here I go."
Just as took a single step he felt like every bone in his body had broken. As he gritted his teeth and closed his eyes he tried his best to hold in the pain but it was not an easy task. As each feeling of pain increased Dave felt the urge to let it out and let out an ear piercing scream. As soon as it was he panted intensely, sweat pouring down. Pain hit him like a wave, causing him to look up at the sky once again, realizing what it meant.
In the sky was a full moon.
As if an invisible force had pushed him over Dave collapsed on the street, his breath rapid. As he cringed with pain something else was going on. Like Dave a bald man with a grey jacket over a red shirt was running rapidly, being chased by three other men. As the bald man ran like hell he failed to notice the teenager lying in front of him. As a result one misstep and the bald man fell flat on his face, blood starting to form as he hit the ground.
"Fuck!" the man said to himself.
As if on cue three men perked up, hearing the distress of the man. The leader, a tattooed man with a black hat wearing a white shirt, smirked at this.
"We've found him."
He motioned the two other men, a man in a blue jacket and a man in a brown jacket, to follow him as he began running. The bald man slowly got back up and looked back and forth. Satisfied he sighed, only to see the leader right in front of him, smiling.
"Hey buddy."
Before the bald man could even process this the leader punched him square in the jaw, blood spurting out and a tooth falling on the ground. As the bald man fell on the floor he feel like his entire body was frozen. Once he fell he silently prayed that things would get better.
Those prayers didn't seem to be answered, as the leader and the two other men began kicking and hitting the bald man with pure aggression. Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, the leader got up, a confused expression on his face.
"Fuck is that kid doing?"
The leader got up and left, giving the bald man hope. He began to crawl away, only to see the man in a blue jacket standing in front of him, a sadistic smile on his face. Meanwhile, the leader went to Dave, who was lying on the ground. The leader squatted down and began to poke Dave, causing the teenager to stand up in a flash. Through gritted teeth Dave began to speak.
"Run."
Before the leader could do anything Dave began to change. His nails began to extend, becoming claws. His eyes changed to a red. Fur began to sprout all over his body, causing him to scream in agony. The leader backed away in horror, terrified of the transformation in front of him. As Dave continued to scream his nose and jaw extended into a snout. As the leader stared in horror Dave's body cracked, a new form showing itself. As the transformation continued the leader stared until it was finally over. Standing in front of him was a vicious, snarling, nearly seven foot tall beast.
A werewolf.
The leader tried to slowly back away, but the werewolf quickly got to him. Before the leader could even have a single thought the beast dug its fangs straight into the leader's neck, ripping out as much as flesh as it could. The leader screamed but his struggles were futile, the werewolf's grip solid as steel. As much as the leader struggled he could feel his life leaving him, the gaping wound on his neck spurting blood. Eventually the leader's eyes closed and the werewolf let go, his body falling on the ground. The two other criminals, their eyes wide and mouths open, burst into a sprint, wanting to get away from the savage beast as fast as they could. Bolting for the rest of the street the two could feel their hearts beating as they ran like hell, eventually stopping to get rest. However just as they stopped the brown jacket man turned around, and horror went across his face as he saw what was in front of his.
"Dear god" the man said quietly.
Before the blue jacket man could even respond he saw the sight and was just as horrified: the werewolf was running towards them on all fours. Just as he was about to scream the werewolf leapt, landing right on top of the blue jacket man. The werewolf looked at the blue jacket man, hunger in its eyes. The blue jacket man was horrified, almost close to tears. Just like the leader the werewolf bit into the neck of the blue jacket man, ignoring his screams as he feasted on flesh. After more bites the blue jacket man took his last breaths. Noticing the depart of the meal before him the werewolf looked up, still not satisfied. It gazed at the brown jacket man.
The brown jacket man stood there, paralyzed with fear. As much as he wanted to run away and get away from the beast in front of him he knew he had no chance. The two men he had known had just been eaten in front of him, and they were far more skilled than him. Accepting his fate he stood there, closing his eyes. But the werewolf had a trick up its sleeve so to speak. Instead of going straight for the neck like the other two the beast instead used its claws to slash the man's stomach. As the man felt organs falling out he felt more afraid and desperate than he had ever been in his life. The man tried to put his organs best as back as he could but it was no use, he was done for. Looking up at the werewolf he saw no mercy, only a savage desire to kill. The werewolf pounced, proving his assumptions correct. As the wolf feasted on the corpse its ears detected one more person crawling away. Getting up the beast saw the bald man limping away, an easy meal. If it could have the beast would have smirked.
Getting on all fours the werewolf ran towards the bald man, biting down on his legs to make sure his meal stayed put. The bald man screamed but the beast paid no attention, looking at other areas to feed. Seeing the man's neck the beast began satisfied. A few bites and the man was history. Pleased with the carnage it had caused the werewolf let out a howl, signaling its victory. With nothing left the werewolf moved towards the forest. An animal would not be as good as a meal as the ones it had enjoyed, but it would be something.
The next morning Dave woke up on the side of the street, no clothes on him and blood all over. Dave gazed over, horrified at the carnage he had caused. Just as he was immersed in his thoughts he could hear someone breathe and looked up to see a familiar black haired glasses wearing nerd.
"Hey Marty" said Dave.
"Dude, that's a lot of blood. Didn't make it in time?" Dave asked..
Dave sighed.
"Yeah. This thing... its awful. God, I wish I was normal" said Dave.
"Yeah. That sucks. Have you told Katie about this?" asked Marty.
"How can I? I turn into a werewolf Marty, its not something casual."
"Yeah you're right... wanna go read comics or something?"
Dave sighed.
"Sure."
A/N: So this is a new thing I'm trying. The basis for this is that each chapter will be a oneshot focusing on one of the main characters and their lives as monsters instead of superheroes. I love the movie Kick-Ass so since its Spooky Month I decided I'd try my hand at a series for it. I have some seriously fucked up ideas so I'm definitely excited to continue. If you came from my profile don't worry, I still have plans to write the next chapter for Scary Sister, but this is is my October priority for now. That said I hope you enjoyed and please r&r
