well, will you look at this. I kept my word to my readers and made a much longer chapter than the last one in this second chapter of 'The Love Angel and the Dark-Hearted Devil'. I know probably not all of my readers will like this fanfiction, but that will not stop me from writing it anyway. I think that there should be a fanfiction like this one on the site already. I know I'm probably way off base with a fanfiction like this one, but the thing of this was that I could not find a single 'Wedding Peach' fanfiction that I actually liked on this website under the 'Wedding Peach' anime/manga search engine. so, I just decided to write one of my own. the best part about this chapter's length is that it's a good two-thousand-nine-hundred-six words long and it also has no such thing as a comment from me, the author, that has been merely disguised as an author's note. now onto my disclaimer...

disclamation: I do not own the 'Wedding Peach' anime or manga series in any way, shape, or form. I do not know who owns either series, but what I know for sure is that it is not me. I am but a humble writer of fanfictions like this one and of other types of stories.

It all started when Captain Kazuya Yanagiba began running into the school building on the St. Hanazono Junior High campus. The three newspaper club girls from the other day had been standing in wait there for him with lunches in their hands for him.

The lime-green-haired girl and the chocolate-brown-haired girl from before had revealed their names to the captain respectively as Hinagiku Tamano and Yuri Tanima when they had tried to give him their lunches.

Then, the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl tried in desperation to catch up with her friends at impressing Yanagiba. When she had tried too hard to impress the captain, however, the two of her friends, Yuri and Hinagiku, both pulled her aside to question her or something about whatever she had done to try impressing him with her cooking.

Once the big reveal of what she had for the captain came, however, I guess that the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl was just going to sacrifice her own lunch for the day and let herself starve for the sake of a crush she seemed to have on the captain. I probably should have just called her Momoko, however, since it was her name. I know, her name meant peach-child. What are the odds of that being a coincidence?

That was around when I made it onto the scene.

Momoko, Yuri Tanima and Hinagiku Tamano: Huh?

Yours Truly: Hey! What do you think you're doing? I can't let you stuff our team captain full of that funky food. The soccer team's in the middle of a district competition, right now. You wanna give our captain a stomachache?

Momoko, Yuri Tanima and Hinagiku Tamano: Did you say stomachache?

Momoko was almost ready to tell me off…

Momoko: Why you_

… that was when I took the lunches from the newspaper club girls, ran right past all three of them and turned around just to tell them…

Yours Truly: But I'll consider these lunches as gifts for the entire soccer team and gratefully accept them.

Then, captain Yanagiba tried to talk to me about giving them their lunches back.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Come on now, Yousuke!

I did not want to hear it, though.

Yours Truly: Captain, you better hurry or you're gonna be late.

I could hear the lime-green-haired girl, Hinagiku Tamano, call out to me.

Hinagiku Tamano: Hey, come back here!

Then after a short while, the chocolate-brown-and-wavy-haired girl, Yuri Tanima, yelled out at me about taking their lunches for the captain away from them.

Yuri Tanima: I'm gonna get you, Yousuke Fuuma!

That was my name, ladies. Do not wear it out!

On my way to the field, I suddenly heard crying from that Momoko girl, too. I guess I knew which one of their lunches I was gonna keep for myself.

Later, on the field at soccer practice, Captain Yanagiba, the rest of the team, and I were playing almost as good as professional soccer players; scoring goals and defending goal posts left and right. I swear that all of the girls were going crazy over the captain and his goals.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Alright! Let's take a break, everybody!

With the captain initiating our sanctioned lunch break from the soccer practice, the rest of the team accepted the lunches from Hinagiku and Yuri that I gave to them.

Soccer team member #1: Hey, Yousuke!

Soccer team member #2: You sure you wanna give away both of these homemade lunches?

Soccer team member #3: Yeah! I mean, this homemade stuff sure does look pretty good!

Soccer team member #4: I'll say! It sure beats something that's clearly store-bought like those rice balls.

Yours Truly: You guys go ahead and share all of those sandwiches and sushi rolls from the newspaper club girls amongst yourselves. These rice balls just so happen to be all that I could ever want.

With that in mind, I sat down to a rice ball trio lunch. Pickled Plum? Salted Salmon? Spicy Cod Roe? I never knew that that cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl, Momoko, could be a woman of taste. I ironically found myself blushing at the thought of having my exact favorite rice ball flavors from a girl's lunch that she bought for herself. For one reason or another, it felt sort of like an indirect kiss.

Once I had begun chowing down on the rice balls on the benches, it was like I was in paradise. I made a ton of yum sounds about the spicy cod roe, specifically. Then, I laughed about having scored such a meal for absolutely free.

Yours Truly: Oh, these are so good.

After my comment, I made one more yum sound right before getting yelled at about it… by a girl, no less.

Girl's voice: Hey! Yousuke Fuuma!

I almost instantly turned around in shock at the girl's voice reaching my ears. It sounded really shrill, too. It was none other than that same cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl, Momoko. She looked really angry with me about her rice ball trio.

Momoko: Give me back my Cod Roe Rice Ball or I'll reach down your throat and pull it out, myself!

That was around when she had started to stroll out onto the field, seething with anger.

Yours Truly: You dummy! Stay off the field! It's dangerous!

Momoko would not listen to me, though. I guess I had made her a little too angry with me to care about my warning.

Momoko: What are you talking about? It's just a field.

Yep, I had definitely made Momoko far too angry at me about stealing what might as well have been her only food for the day to care about any warning from me.

That was when a soccer ball came flying in towards Momoko and hit her right in the head. She only jittered in place just before falling straight down onto the ground.

Before I even knew it, I rushed over to the unconscious cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl along with her friends from the St. Hanazono Junior High School's Newspaper Club. They seemed to be extra worried about their friend, Momoko's, condition, while I was just confused by both it and her anger.

Yours Truly: What's the matter with her? Why did she even yell about those rice balls from before all of this?

Hinagiku Tamano: Are you blind or stupid or something, Yousuke Fuuma? Those rice balls were her only food for the whole day.

Yours Truly: Oh! So, she really was just that willing to let herself starve over wanting to keep up with the two of you in the competition all three of you seem to have over the captain.

Hinagiku Tamano: Shut it, Yousuke! Do you want the whole school to know about that?

Yours Truly: Actually, I kinda…

Hinagiku Tamano: Well, it's not gonna happen, not today.

Yuri Tanima: We really should get Momoko over to the nurse's office right now.

Yours Truly: I'll carry her, you two.

On our way to the nurse's office, my cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl, Momoko, seemed to be stirring around in her sleep, as though she were hearing things.

Momoko: Is that Papa? You can't possibly be Papa, but you feel so warm, so strange. This way, this warmth, what is this? Oh, yes, I wanna stay like this forever; and forever and ever.

I did not know what was wrong with her by then, but it sounded a lot like she was daydreaming. I had to tell her to…

Yours Truly: Momo-pi, get a hold of yourself.

That was when Momoko's sleep stirring finally ended and she seemed to wake up.

Yours Truly (continued): Oh, good. You're awake.

Yuri Tanima: Momoko, please, get a hold of yourself.

Then, Momoko began looking around while in my arms. I noticed this and chose to stop.

Yours Truly: Are you feelin' alright?

That was around the time that Momoko had suddenly screamed. Then, she started babbling incoherently and trying to push herself away from my face. I tried to reason with her.

Yours Truly (continued): Hey, cut it out! You've been injured! Don't strain yourself!

It was no use, though, because shortly after Momoko had tried to push herself away from my face, it was almost immediately followed by her trying to knock me upside the head. It was not until Hinagiku came back that things actually began to calm down even a bit.

Hinagiku Tamano: It's no use. I've looked all over, and I can't find the school nurse anywhere.

Yuri Tanima: Huh?

Hinagiku Tamano: Let's split up and look for her.

Yuri Tanima: OK!

With that in mind, the lime-green-haired girl, Hinagiku, and the chocolate-brown-long-haired-girl, Yuri, ran off to look for the school nurse and left me to deal with their cherry-blossom-pink-haired friend, Momoko.

Yours Truly: Hey, wait!

Of course, I was concerned about being left alone with Momoko, of all girls in the school. Judging by exactly what she had said about her situation next, I could have easily said that the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl in my arms was just as worried about the situation as I was.

Momoko: Yuri, Hinagiku, don't leave me here!

I was concerned about my joint situation with Momoko, myself, but I could not just leave her all alone.

Yours Truly: Ah, man. Guess I have no choice.

That was right when Momoko and I both found ourselves blushing. I took the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl into the nurse's office not long afterwards. She just lay on the bed in the nurse's office.

Yours Truly: I can't believe how dumb this is. Why didn't one of her friends stay behind? Why do I have to be the one stuck here watching over her?

That was just about when Momoko finally started speaking to me, but it was anything except pleasant.

Momoko: Who says I even want you watching over me, you chowder head?

Oh, so I was the chowder head there? I just hmphed at her stating such a thing, right before I had turned my eyes in her direction.

Momoko (continued): Go back to your practice and leave me alone, already.

With that remark, I actually turned my whole body to face the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl, herself.

Yours Truly: Listen, dummy; I'm not the type of guy to leave an injured girl all by herself.

After I had said that, however, Momoko just stared at me like I was a weirdo. At this action from the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl, I just started blushing like I was crazy or something.

Yours Truly (continued): What are you looking at? Quit staring at me like I'm some sort of alien.

That was around when Momoko, herself, started blushing shortly after I had and looked away from me all of a sudden. I got it by then, of course.

Yours Truly (continued): Oh, I see. You've fallen for me because I'm such a good-looking guy.

That was when she had at last spoken up about it, and it did not sound too happy to me, contrary to what I firmly believed her feelings for me to be.

Momoko: You have got to be kidding me.

That was when the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl suddenly got up from out of the nurse's office bed.

Momoko (continued): I'm going back to the classroom.

Like hey I was going to let her out of bed before the nurse could even show up to get a good look at her to see if she was hurt in any possible way.

Yours Truly: No way! You're staying in bed 'till the nurse shows up.

I stepped forward and attempted to push Momoko back into bed. She began fussing about getting pushed back into bed, though.

Momoko: Hey, get your hands off of me.

I tried my hardest to get the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl to lay back down. Momoko had even called me a pervert for doing it, but she had to rest until the nurse could get a look at her to make sure that she was not injured at all. Before either one of us knew it, however, I had eventually ended up landing on her while she was in the bed.

I did not know what had gotten into me not long afterwards, but whatever it was that had caused me to blush right along with Momoko as I managed to get up. It was basically just about the first ever time which I had gotten a good look at the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl's face. Then, it was as though a holy light had gone into the room and washed over the two of us. I tried to speak to her about what had just happened at the time.

Yours Truly: I-I, uh…

The only two problems with it at the moment being that the only thing I could think of to say to Momoko was nothing but a stammered out 'I' and I was interrupted by her friends, Yuri and Hinagiku, finally having returned with the nurse in tow. With that happening, I jumped off of the bed in which my cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl lay and looked away from her just as she had from me.

Hinagiku Tamano: Mrs. Ishino, hurry!

Yuri Tanima: Hurry! Please!

The nurse, Mrs. Ishino, had arrived with Momoko's friends having gone to get her earlier. I had actually managed to forget that the two of them had gone to look for the nurse, never mind that they were even coming back at all.

Mrs. Ishino: Miss Hanasaki, what happened? Are you alright?

Well now, I at least knew what the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl's full name was. Momoko Hanasaki, huh?

Momoko Hanasaki: I guess.

Mrs. Ishino: Are you running a fever? Your face is all red.

It was not like that was news to me. I had experienced that, myself, but at least I was lucky enough not to be the one the nurse was examining at the time.

Mrs. Ishino (continued): And your heart is racing.

Oh, Momoko's heart was racing now, was it? I guess that I had managed to make this cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl fall for me, after all. It was at that moment that she suddenly got up from the nurse's office bed and began insisting that she was fine.

Momoko Hanasaki: No, no, I'm OK, really. I'm fit as a fiddle, you see?

The cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl might have been trying a little too hard to convince everyone that she was fine with that second sentence. It was kind of obvious that she was just trying to cover up her more than apparent feelings for me.

Hinagiku, Yuri and Mrs. Ishino all turned their heads towards me at that moment.

Mrs. Ishino: Thanks for bringing her here and looking after her, Mr. Fuuma.

Of course, at that moment, it was my turn to try to deny my own sudden want to hold Momoko Hanasaki in my arms.

Yours Truly: Well, if something happened and the soccer team got blamed for it, that'd be bad for the school, you know.

Obviously, I had done a lot better than Momoko at covering up such emotions, so I did not need to feel insecure about it like she clearly was. I headed over to the door of Mrs. Ishino's office following what I had said.

Yours Truly (continued): Thank goodness she's got a rock-hard head.

That was when I turned back in their direction.

Yours Truly (continued): By the way, for someone your size, you sure do weigh a lot. You might wanna lay off the cod roe a little. You know what I mean?

I finally opened the nurse's office door and exited the room.

Yours Truly (continued): See ya, Momo-pi.

I could not believe it, but I could actually hear her on the other side of the door to Mrs. Ishino's office.

Momoko Hanasaki: Don't call me 'Momo-pi', you loser.

With that fresh in my mind, I just headed on back to the soccer field to practice some more. Only problem with that was that by the time I made it back to the soccer field, lunch was already over. Captain Yanagiba came over and asked me what had happened with Momoko and her potential head injury.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Was she alright when you took her to the nurse's office, Yousuke? You sure sounded eager to take her there when that soccer ball of ours hit that poor girl in the head, and you even seemed to have taken her there by carrying her in your arms.

At that, I actually did lose my cool even towards the soccer captain, and about a girl no less.

Yours Truly: It's fine, captain. I just wanted to make sure she made it to the nurse's office without having to just drag her there.
