Prompt: Can you do a fanfic where Kensi and Deeks go undercover as a married couple again only this time they can finally be themselves since they actually are married now.
A/N: For the purposes of this story, Eric and Nell are around and not headed for Tokyo.
Deeks rolled onto his side as his alarm played insistently, reaching across the bed for Kensi and only finding empty sheets. He assumed that she was either on a run or in the shower. Stretching his arms above his head, he silenced his phone, slid out of bed, and went in search of his wife
As he walked down the hall, he heard the shower running, and debated joining her. Eric and Nell probably wouldn't appreciate that though, so he headed for the kitchen and started making breakfast.
This was their third day in their borrowed house playing Tina and Ricky Lowe. It wasn't quite as mansion-like as the last time they were undercover as a couple, but Deeks felt considerably more at home. If they weren't currently trying to root out a couple of money launderers, it would almost feel like a vacation.
As it was, the last few days had involved meeting the neighbors, accepting various gifts of homemade foods, and creating the idea that he and Kensi were just another happy young (ok, youngish) couple moving into their dream home. So far they had narrowed in on 3 or 4 couples who seemed likely suspects.
Kensi wandered downstairs just as he was finishing up a pan of eggs, cheese, and vegetables. Her hair was still damp, brushing the shoulders of her maroon t-shirt.
"Mm, good morning," she greeted him, stopping to kiss his cheek. "That smells absolutely amazing."
"Prepare to have your taste buds delighted," he said with a wink. "There's fresh coffee too."
A minute later Kensi returned with a fresh mug of coffee which he accepted gratefully, another one balanced in her other hand. While he divided the eggs between two plates, she leaned against his back with a content sigh, drawing little circles on his skin with her finger.
There little moment was interrupted by Nell loudly clearing her throat.
"Guys, we have an update," she told them, sounding a little apologetic. Deeks adjusted the comm in his ear, but otherwise didn't give any indication that something had changed.
Like the last time they were undercover as a married couple, they didn't know who might be listening in. It was slightly annoying, but Deeks didn't mind the chance to play up the romantic aspect of their covers.
"Sam and I found a body at the warehouse where the last batch of counterfeit money was shipped," Callen explained. "We identified him as Carter Hernandez."
"Mr. Hernandez owned a gym and a nutrition store," Eric added. "And your new neighbors Angelina and John Parham just happened to have memberships there."
"Awesome," Deeks muttered under his breath, glancing back at Kensi. She kissed his cheek again, shrugging.
"Figure out a way to get invited to the Parhams' house," Callen instructed. "Then after you do that, come to OPS for a debriefing."
"Mm, you wanna go for a little walk around the neighborhood after breakfast, baby?" Kensi asked. "Maybe we can meet the rest of our neighbors."
"Sounds like a great plan." Deeks leaned in, reaching back to flip off the burner, as he turned and tugged Kensi against him. He kissed her firmly, cupping her waist. Her palm slid down his chest, coming to rest low on his stomach.
"And quit making out all over the place," Sam snapped loudly. "If I have to hear you two gushing over each other for another day, I'm going to kill you."
A/N: Yes, this is mimicking Neighborhood Watch very closely, but with Densi completely comfortable with making out. At some point I will finish this.
